Bartholomew Rosecliff

Location: Room 101
Skills:N/a

Bart watched as the Hat walked out to the door, intent on following him closely behind. That passing comment he made, gave him a shiver of anticipation. The idea of having some ability so spectacular that it made transforming into other things trivial was tantalizing, he had to admit. He knew he'd find out in time about what he could do, and he'd love to just be satisfied with that and focus on more important things, but he knew himself too well to know he'd be endlessly puzzling it over and obsessing over it until he found out. He'd have to do what he could to keep himself focused on the problems at hand though, too much was on the line right now.

He caught the eye of Sophia, and gave a friendly smile, "I don't drink much, and I think I could still get behind that." He noted, and closed the distance between the two of them. "This really is a lot to process, I think we need to put a lot of thought into what we've just heard, there's more than what's on the surface, I think." He said carefully, his eyes trailing back to and locking on Eve for a second. "A break will do us all some good, I think. Let's us take it all in and get to know each other. Name's Bartholomew by the way, but my friends call me Bart." He introduced himself, giving a small wave as he did so.

He was about to recommend they head out, when Miss Lucas spoke again, and caused him to turn to face her head on. That was the most overt thing he'd heard out of her mouth at this point. That's how it was then, stay here, or go back in the ground. He gave what might be described as a light chuckle, keeping up a smile. She just showed him something very, very important, if he was reading into her words correctly. She didn't seem to have an emotional investment in their continued life, at least not yet, which spoke volumes about her character. She was obviously in charge around here, or at least was the most prominent voice out the the Emendators, and she cared about the survival and strength of her group more than anything else, even individual life. As soon as Eve stepped out the door, Bart turned back to Sophia, "That,I think, was incredibly important." He said quietly, giving Sophia a bemused look, "Thoughts?"

Sophia Harris

Location: Ville au Camp: Main House, Sitting Room
Skills: N/A

Sophia looked towards Faith when she spoke up, complaining about wanting to rest the girl was certainly impatient it seemed she did of course have a lot of questions still. But she had a second life to wait, and she would be patient she looked towards Evelina stopping Gilbert for a moment hearing her speaking in another language. She was really curious what she said as well, when she spoke to Faith about patients which she couldn't help but smirk slightly, and watched as Evelina was about to leave. She froze for a moment, either stay or die all over again.

Then Bart quickly approached her to introduce himself, she gave him a friendly smile. "It's nice to meet you Bart, the names Sophia Harris." She was about to extend her left hand to offer a handshake, but forgot for a moment that it had been lobbed off from the walker bite when she was alive. Sophia quickly switched to her right hand, she looked towards the door that Evelina had left the woman was certainly a mystery to her.

Turning her attention back towards Bart and gave him a slight shrug. "Happy to be alive again, but i'm not in a hurry to leave just yet." Sophia said looking over at James for a moment and gestured towards him. "Also this is James, we sort of knew each other before I died." She said introducing him to James. "Anyway i'm certainly ready to get a more thorough tour of our new place. And also to get more answers from Miss Lucas as well." Sophia said as she started to turn and make her way over towards the door that Gilbert had exited.

Nancy Parker

Location: Ville au Camp: Main House (Room 202)
Skills: Acting

Had anyone else been present, the scene unfolding between Nancy and Giouse would have either been comical or worrying. An apparent young adult was being asked by a far older man to submit her wrists so that way she could be handcuffed. The connotations were overwhelmingly negative. But they didn't cross Nancy's mind at all as she carefully tucked her cards into the jumpsuit and then stuck out her wrists. It certainly wasn't the strangest situation she had ever been in and she doubted it would be the last.

She slouched slightly, putting more weight on her left foot than her right as she adopted the mannerisms of Ashley, ex-Browncoat extraordinaire. "Congratulations, you put cuffs on a gorram woman," Nancy - no "Ashley" taunted. She bit back a small smile, the first near slip up she had had so far. But she supposed as much as she disliked them, this is what rehearsals were for. Eve probably wouldn't like the idea of her leaving the loop, but she and Drem had shared a certain wanderlust. She was dying to stretch her legs and get a change of scenery.

"Before you send me to the west, make sure Eve and Gil are on board with you taking the Paradoxes out that far," Nancy added. Eve could be a bit of a tight ass and she had a feeling that Lady Luck may not be on their side. And as much as she did want to leave the loop and have an adventure, adventures were always better with other people. She then had a sudden craving for a caramel chew. "Caramel me - please. Should be in the pocket of my clothes," Nancy requested. Giouse had already folded them up carefully and with the handcuffs on, it seemed easier to just ask him.

Andromeda Aldrich

Location: Ville au Camp: Main House (Sitting Room)
Skills: None

They were definitely extreme abilities, then. She had only heard of shapeshifters that were necromantics before - never an individual. Well, she supposed that the Emendators were more than just individuals. From what she could tell, they made Lucifer look like a child at play. From Lady Luck's age, she realized that they likely predated the Judeo-Christian deities as well. A grim thought then occurred to her. Had Lady Luck rolled her dice for each person killed as a result of her brother's actions? Maybe this limbo between life and the afterlife was just a stay of execution before something far worse - crimes that they would have to answer for. She had taken her brother in and hidden him. Was she now being held responsible for what happened at Altsoba?

It was odd - Eve's presentation of their choice calmed Andromeda. The small knot of paranoia that had began to grow suddenly stopped. This didn't seem to be a place to repent for her brother's crimes. This was just another dimension, a new plane of existence Andromeda reasoned. She let out a breath before glancing down at her hands once more. She couldn't help but still wonder what powers she had been reborn with - powers that maybe she could do some good with. Maybe even if this wasn't a place for atonement, she could learn as much as she could about the bizarre - but also fulfill some other purpose. She wasn't seeking for peace or redemption. It was more complicated than that. She had already made up her mind as to what she would decide - she'd stay. She wasn't going to throw this chance away.

She noted how the blonde boy flocked towards the ginger, along with the rather expressive man. While it would have normally bothered her and she likely would have attempted to join in, she felt more inclined to observe and try to take in as much as she could at the moment. Perhaps it was her death weighing on her, causing some symptoms of shock. But whatever the explanation was, she just didn't feel inclined to introduce herself and exchange small talk with the other Paradoxes.

Gilbert & James

Location: Ville au Camp - Main House (Front Porch)
Location: Ville au Camp - Main House (Front Porch -> Parlor -> Dining Room -> Front Porch)
Skills: N/A

Gilbert took some comfort in the words of Evelina. He would not have to immediately take everyone on a full tour of the grounds of Ville au Camp, which he had assumed from previous conversation would be the case. Of course, he also assumed that it would take place later on in the day. Granted, after a while he would probably have to complete the tour, but for the time being, the front part of the grounds would suffice. The words of The Dice, and in Greek no less, painted a very vivid picture of a person with detail oriented plans, or at least someone who desired "The Big Reveal" for themselves. To be frank, it didn't matter so much to Gilbert. A few millennia had given the man a very relaxed frame of mind about things. If he had to carry the bags today, so be it.

Meanwhile, James was still mulling over the concept that there was indeed a way to "opt out" of the whole, sticky mess. Of course, it would mean dying... again. And from his perspective, that would mean twice in the same day. A little tingle crept up his spine, the takeaway of a standard, mortal existence. He had faced death before. They all had, apparently. He wasn't going to give an answer about anything just yet, but James did note that he most assuredly did not immediately choose to be dead again.

As the gathering of Paradoxes became a unanimous thing on the porch just outside, Gilbert began the nickel tour of the house. As it turned out, the large residence had relatively few rooms aside from personal living quarters. "So, you've seen the Study and the Sitting Room. Through these doors..." he walked a few steps down and opened the front doors mirroring the ones they had just left, and stepped to the side. "...are the Parlor and the Dining Room. These four rooms on the ground floor make up pretty much all of the space that isn't a private room. Or the bathroom." The tall Emendator snapped his fingers as if just remembering something, "Yeah, ah... not sure how you more 'modern' types are going to be with this, but there's one bathroom. And it's upstairs." He waited a bit for it to sink in. Almost as an inevitability, he waited for one or more of the Paradoxes to ask "What's a bathroom?", not particularly indicating a point of ridicule, but giving a better idea as to when the new Paradox died. Gilbert himself spent more time alive without indoor facilities than with, and so understood the initial confusion. Still, sometimes, it was amusing.

James did the cursory walkthrough, entering the parlor and dining room beyond. He didn't give it much in the way of attention to detail, more just taking in general layout within the house and where the doors were. There was something familiar about this house. Not so much the actual location, as if he'd been here before. James hadn't, he didn't think. Oh, in his lifetime (or the clearest version of it he could remember), he had traveled around this area before in pursuit of his work. Maybe he'd heard of this place. It was probably nothing, a memory buried underneath the uprising of dead people that was the last few years of his life. At least that was over for him, one way or another.

When he returned to the porch area with Gilbert, he fully registered the comment about having one bathroom for eight Paradoxes and four Emendators. A hint of sarcasm came through in his voice as he noted, "It's all good. Y'all got windows, right?"

"Woman or not, I'll see Justice carried out," he responded in kind. It was a good kind of adversary for a character like Ashley to have. Someone firm who acted with the utter belief that the right of Law stood behind him. A good foil for her unbridled belief in freedom. Unfortunately, they likely wouldn't have the time to explore all of the intricacies' of Ashley's former social network during the prank itself, but at the least, he could potentially work the character into another story of his. She was a bit too... melodramatic to actually serve as a protagonist, but he could see her working in a supporting role.

"It would be annoying having to have you go back just to pull you back out," Gio conceded as he scratched his chin. The "convincing Eve and Gil to let him whisk off the Paradoxes on a fieldtrip" was the biggest unknown of the whole plan, but he had complete confidence that he'd be able to pull it off. When requested, he carefully unfolded the clothes enough to get at the pocket and fish out a plastic wrapped caramel candy.

"Open up," he called, as he unwrapped the candy, performing the ritual warm-up, warning throwing motions that indicated that one was going to lob something someone's way. Any failure to notice after three such motions were not the fault of the thrower by unspoken law. And when the candy finally left his hand, it arced through the room, tumbling through the air and bounced off of Nancy's nose, falling onto the floor.

Oh hell no.

She was not being chastised like some common child. Not by some old woman with a pair of dice in hand. What would be the point of waiting? Just get on with it and introduce them to their new life! God, this was infuriating! The others around her seemed content, but she was not. She wanted to wipe the subtle smirk she noticed off the one bitch's mouth, but that could wait. Stepping on toes at the onset was not smart, considering she didn't know much.

However, her ears pricked up when the transforming man mentioned they only had one bathroom. This was for two reasons. One, did they even NEED a bathroom? Weren't they dead? She didn't have a period anymore, but did she still...need a bathroom? That didn't make much sense given circumstances. Second, she was looking forward to actually having a constant roof over her head, bathroom included.

She was about to speak up, state her displeasure with all of this new information, but held her tongue. As hard as that was to do. It was better to keep quiet and collect herself. She would have her chance to speak, come hell or high water.

Alexandra Andonova

Make me, make me impressed
Make me, make me obsessed
- "Pretty Little Psycho" by Porcelain Black

Location: Ville au Camp - Main House (Sitting Room --> Front Porch)
Skills: N/A

Alexandra lowered her hands to clasp them together just below her chin in an almost begging like fashion. Her dark eyes sparkled with lively energy as she eagerly watched The Hat continue his little show. She looked on in seeming awe as he changed back into his original form, the form she much preferred. It was the form of the Sweet Father of Giants, as she had called him earlier on a whim. And oh would she wear him thin with that nickname and just for the heck of it. The notion that anything could possibly be prettier, his words not hers, than his original form elicited a snort from her. "Pfft, as if. Prove it, hot shot," she jabbed sarcastically.

When a note of seriousness came to his features, her wide grin faded and her hands dropped back down to her sides. Buzzkill. She absentmindedly tapped her barefoot on the floor as he talked about giving a tour of the house and the grounds. Boring. Yet his parting comment captured her interest once more. Her brows raised, and she instantly perked up.

She was about to sprint after him when something Evelina said caught her attention in particular. Questions will be answered at the end--no no, not that. No, it was something about remain or leave and die. Well that was stupid. Why on earth would she leave when she had just been blessed with life again?! Nope. She was staying. They would have to foricbly remove her otherwise, which could happen. Who knows. After all, not everyone could put up with her, but as far as she was concerned, that was their problem, not hers.

Alexandra glanced around at the others in the room, who were now mingling and engaging in small talk. She shrugged and decided just to follow after The Hat and get this tour started. She practically sprinted out the room. And then two seconds later she ran back in, grabbed her forgotten shoes, and ran back out. "Okay, sweet father of giants, let's get this shov on the road," she exclaimed upon catching up to Gilbert out on the front porch. She threw a smile in his direction before gazing out at the landscape with a small sigh.

As soon as the other Paradoxes assembled out on the front porch, the show fortunately did get on the road. She followed along, taking everything in despite it not being particularly interesting. Sure, the house had a bit of homely charm to it, but it was just a house nonetheless. It would serve its purpose of providing shelter, but she didn't plan on spending all her time inside these walls.

Sophia Harris

Location: Ville au Camp: Main House, Sitting Room
Skills: N/A

When Sophia left the sitting room, she took a few glances at the library as well as the dining room that was there, she started to wonder why there wasn't an actual kitchen in the main house itself. All her years in construction she didn't have the issue of having a kitchen in a completely different building. But then again they were in the 1940's, and the building itself did look like it was much older then in the 40's. When they got out onto the porch of the main house Sophia listened to Gilbert as he mentioned that there was a bathroom, it certainly beat having to go out in the middle of the woods just to go number two when there were walkers all around them.

"It certainly beats having to have to do your business out in the woods with walkers around." Sophia said, she was so used to having to do her business in the woods before joining up with Newnan. It was going to be a little bit hard however being in a house full of other strangers with one working bathroom. She ran a hand through her hair as she looked around the grounds, she would then eye the other Paradoxes that were there the pale one had been pretty quiet so far and was starting to wonder what the woman was actually like. Sophia then turned her attention back towards Gilbert, she was ready to continue with the grand tour of her new home.

Evelina Lucas

Location: Ville au Camp - Heading Towards The Oak Tree -> Kitchen House
Skills: Administration, Diplomacy, Memory Training, History

The Spanish Moss that hung from the trees shifted in the wind as the sound of the peacocks roaming around the grounds made themselves known. They were always louder when new people arrived on the grounds. Evelinas eyes darted about as she brushed some of the moss out of the way as she walked. There was much on her mind right then, most of it pertaining to the new arrivals but it was not the only thing. The Dice had been busy that morning. She had to wonder to herself if Nancy had seen these deaths in the cards. It wasn't uncommon for her to but if the death was not meant be stopped or to be paid close attention to yet she doubted Nancy would have rushed to speak to her about it.

It was probably a good thing she hadn't seen her counter point today as of yet. These new Paradoxes had just arrived and there was much to do. Not to mention they did not know of their powers yet, they had not manifested. There was no way she could send them on a case if something came up. It would have to be one of them and perhaps Alicia. No one else was available right then. If something was serious enough Evelina herself might have to go but she never enjoyed a mission, especially when there were new arrivals. She wanted to be there for them, as much as she could.

As much as she could... That was a difficult thing to balance. Evelina was a very conciliatory person, she wanted to pacify and placate the new arrivals desires to know more. To answer all their questions. To make things as simple and easy for them as possible. Yet she couldn't. She knew better. She knew the consequences to giving into a childs wants instead of taking care of their needs. Though she had never been a mother in a traditional sense, it was an impossibility, she had tried to be a mother to each Paradox she created and brought into the fold. Infact, there was at least one that she doubted she could look at as a daughter anymore than if she had birthed her herself. Some bonds were unfathomable.

A slight smile, a rare one, came to her lips thinking on her first. On her dearest. Such a remarkable woman and one that had brought so much joy when she was there. How she missed her and everything that came along with her. It had been so very long ago. And while as each day ticked by the pain of losing Drem became more manageable, it was the opposite for her "daughter". Each day that drew by that she was not close to her was more difficult. Yet there was nothing to be done about it. Somethings were as they were for a reason. The Dice understood it and while she did not find joy in it, the thought of her daughter steeled her resolve to hold her ground with the newest groups of Paradoxes. She would not make the same mistake twice.

Stepping into he kitchen house she perked a brow noting that an apron was gone. That was odd, she would have to inquire with Gilbert about it later but as she could recall, the one that was missing was not the same one she had noted earlier. Perhaps Gio or Nancy had been down this morning, or perhaps it was Alicia that had taken it. Moving over to the dry storage Evelina began to collect what she would be using to put together a quick lunch for the group and pondered something else as the trails of smoke came up from her pipe and wafted around her as she held it in her teeth. "Just where is that girl."

Alicia Gonzalez

Location: Ville au Camp - Mill
Skills: Empathy

Where was that girl indeed? That girl was busy working. Well not exactly working. She was working on something alright but she wasn't working. Not in a traditional sense. This wasn't part of her job. This wasn't tending to the weapons that Gilbert had given her to clean. This wasn't welcoming another new Paradox. This wasn't studying to make sure she could handle a new paradox. This wasn't even practicing the form of martial arts that Gilbert had shown her so that she could relearn to defend herself since the abilities she had that had manifested were not exactly things one could use to defend ones self against a sudden attack. Dreams and Empathy did little in that regard. Interesting yes, useful in a shootout - no.

Yet she still worked and was grinning from ear to ear. Looking up at her work she felt she deserved a pat on the shoulder and so she gave herself one. Everything was in place. Now to wait. Thing was, she did need to get back to the group now and actually work. Do her job. Damn she didn't want to. She wanted to climb up to get a good seat, sit, wait, and watch as it unfolded. Oh well, wasn't anything that could be done about it. She had to get a move on.

The fact she would get to catch up with James some was a nice thought. She did want to ask him about Ash. That wasn't a channel she was allowed to watch. As Evelina put it - It was none of her concern anymore. It irked her but she let it go. That life wasn't her main life, it wasn't the one that was more prevalent in her mind. The one with Liam was. Yet she still wondered but she didn't push it with Evelina. They had had a chance to sit down and talk once and she learned a few things about The Dice. It didn't make her hard ways any easier to swallow but she found herself less likely to mouth off. McCormick probably wished she had learned to do that BEFORE she died.

Gilbert Summers, "The Hat"

Location: Ville au Camp - Main House (Porch) -> Kitchen House
Skills: N/A

As the group took a brief stroll through the remaining two rooms of the main house, Gilbert gave himself the tiny luxury of listening to the conversations of the new Paradoxes. It amused him somewhat how glib of tongue some of them could be, especially considering that he was standing directly in their midst. One of his more smug smiles curled along one side of his mouth, followed by the barest of head shakes. It was an interesting phenomenon. Naturally, Gilbert figured the frank and open discourse with zero guile might be due, at least in part, to the guttural fear yet sudden liberation of being dead. The walking around, taking in the evening air, "what would you like with your tea?" dead, not the shambling about, eater-of-brains kind of dead, nor even the significantly more boring, just laying there kind of dead where your only real concerns (were one cognizant of anything or even spiritually present) were bugs and/or necrophiliacs.

A couple of them were quiet, or very nearly so. The optimistic dark complected one called James looked to have his initial zest run down like a music box coming to premature rest, and the extremely pale one had yet to speak in his presence at all. Everybody had their own way of processing. Hell, when he found out what he was, there was one hell of an adjustment period. On the other hand, some of these new Paradoxes seemed firmly planted in a specific attitude, be it sarcasm or flirtation or a strange sense of conversational neutrality. None of it particularly concerned him past the need to keep a cursory listen for warning signs of psychosis. That had happened before. Wasn't pretty.

"Are we ready?" he inquired lightly. Everyone seemed to have finished up this stop on the nickel tour, and he was eager to get them back into Evelina's care for another round of Q & A. If he had to field additional questions that didn't involve the layout of the grounds, he might be inclined to answer. That's just not how it worked. Dropper feed information to these people at a rate that their brains could handle it. Problems would invariably arise otherwise. "Ok, if you'll follow me..." Gilbert stepped off of the porch and cut an immediate left, walking toward the Kitchen House.

"The front grounds are pretty straightforward from here." said Gilbert, crossing the ground in front of the house. As soon as he cleared the outer wall, he pointed beyond the house to a pair of smaller buildings. "Garages. The less sophisticated types tend to call them 'car holes', but trust me, they're garages. Oh, ah... modern equivalent to a carriage house or a cart shed. Moving on..."

Gilbert continued taking them in a straight line toward the Kitchen House, passing a copse of trees with one very familiar, sprawling Oak. "All of you will remember this. The old Oak is the present site for the gateway here. This is where you arrived. Nice spot. Out of the way. Serene, even. Sometimes I like so sit out here with tea, maybe some sandwiches. Get a little weapon practice in. It's a nice spot, other connotations aside. But hey! Let's keep going."

Just past the Oak was one of Gilbert's favorite places and the end of the line for them, so far as the initial tour went. "And here we go, the Kitchen House. The weather in this part of the country is, ah... Well, it has humidity and heat that's near impossible this far away from the equator. The Kitchen House produces food for the whole of the grounds and staff, and in the summer. Damn. Just damn. Be glad it's away from the house. That last part shouldn't be a problem for us, but there it is." Gilbert waved a hand toward the ramp and deck attached to the building, "Let's file inside. Miss Lucas should be waiting."

James Grady

Location: Ville au Camp - Main House (Porch) -> Kitchen House
Skills: N/A

James, meanwhile, walked along behind Gilbert like a man expecting to either wake up any moment then, or fall over stone dead. He had to admit, it was a nice place. Quiet, out of the way, light breeze flitting through the greenery; not bad. Of course, it was extremely likely first constructed and maintained by his ancestors, slave labor sold in exchange for manufactured goods, traded for raw materials of the New World, and left to the mercy of secondary buyers who, for the most part, treated them worse than cattle. "Fuckin' Dutch..." murmured James, taking in his surroundings. Maybe not his forefathers exactly, his people were from south Georgia. But he couldn't definitively rule it out, either. Such was life.

James recognized the tree, alright. It was where he first saw Alicia again. His dead bestie right in front of him. It was an amazing dream at first, until his own crushing guilt got the better of him. He needed to have a talk with her as soon as he could. Confess to her what he did. He had accepted punishment for it in his previous life, and hell, maybe this was part of it in a more metaphysical sense. There was a darkness in James that he had accepted a long time ago and that the world in which he had lived made thrive. He really didn't like that it was there, even though it probably saved his life on more than one occasion.

But hey! That was a totally different lifetime, right? Yeah! This little odyssey that he was on was one part second chance, one part self-discovery! Residing on an old Plantation as a dead guy, possibly with superpowers, with a collection of some of the most eclectic and potentially strange people he had ever had the pleasure of making acquaintance that had also died, and/or had been around since the dawn of frigging time. So, okay: Garages, Oak, Kitchen. He's got this.

As he ambled into the building, he did really wonder if alcohol was forthcoming.

Bartholomew Rosecliff

Location: Ville au Camp - Main House (Porch) -> Kitchen House

Bart took a curious look down at the girl's wooden hand, and wondered how that had happened, but knew it would be horribly rude to ask. He nodded along with Sophia, before waving at James and cracked a smile at her response. "Well, I'm in no rush to die again either." He quietly agreed, before following her out to be shown the grounds. He gave a listen to Gilbert's initial words, and shrugged a little at there only being one bathroom, not really conscientious of how bad that could be, never having lived in a house with that many people at once. Bart's mind briefly wondered back to his apparent abilities Evelina assured him he had. He glanced around, reminded of Gilbert's transformation as a kind of way to set the scope for what powers could be, and thought how cool something like superspeed would be. Not because he was a runner, far from that actually, but the idea of never having to worry about not having enough time to do something. He did consider that his newfound biological immortality made that it a bit less useful, but then again, it would still be awesome in the first place.

Bart shook his head, trying to keep himself from getting too side tracked on the matter at hand. Bart followed along as they toured the grounds, taking note of the garage, wondering how often they got out and around. Eventually, they made way to the Oak, and Gilbert brought it back to that combative undertone he'd noticed over and over again. He gave Gilbert a lingering look when he mentioned that, and even went out of his way to say, "We get a bit of that then, do we? Weapons practice?" He couldn't hold on that any longer, it was too pressing on him. He knew there was a good chance he wouldn't get much in the way of an answer, but there'd be no harm in voicing his curiosity.

Nancy Parker

Location: Ville au Camp: Main House (Room 202)
Skills: the Cards, General Human History

Nancy scrunched up her nose as the caramel bounced off of it and onto the floor. It seemed a bit like a waste of candy to her. "Rude!" Nancy protested, yet she fully intended to have Giouse try again. She tended to carry a decent supply of candy on her, always fitting for the time period of course. Caramel chews happened to be her favorite that the 1940s had to offer in this part of the United States. But rather than get a craving for sweets, she began to feel the tingle in her fingertips. She let out a mild sigh of annoyance. "The bloody new Paradoxes must be setting me off," Nancy said.

It wasn't too hard to remove her deck of cards from where she had tucked them into her jumper. The real challenge was shuffling them. Rather than giving them the good thorough shuffle they deserved, her handcuffs prompted her to instead cut the deck numerous times. She then randomly plucked out cards and reinserted them back in, until she felt with confidence that they were all a jumbled up, random, and chaotic mess - as in, just like her.

She pulled out the Eight of Swords, the High Priestess, and then the Six of Wands. Yet before Nancy could even begin using her gift and analyze the omens, she was struck by a curious feeling. Something felt complete. The true meaning behind her first reading for the day dawned on her. "No death and destruction for Ville au Camp - not yet, anyways. First reading was about death, though," Nancy explained. Her cards had been about Aziza Tarek, she now knew. The Tower represented her past with her husband, the Fool the new life she was embarking to begin, and the Ten of Swords was her death. "Jury's still out on whether you'll hurt your back," Nancy then quipped.

As for the current reading, it was child's play. Whereas some were more challenging, this one she could have done with her eyes closed. The handcuffs didn't seem to have any bearing on her ability to see the future here as well. She got a bit of an amused smirk as she viewed the three cards, quickly matching them each up with their meanings. "We've got a mission!" Nancy exclaimed excitedly. She had been so put out when she couldn't go to fetch that stray Paradox. Yet in this situation, Nancy was certain she'd have to be picked to go. Alicia couldn't do this one. Eve would stay with the new Paradoxes - who obviously couldn't do it. Giouse was too critical to risk losing, as was the Hat.

"One of the new Paradoxes - his name's Bartholomew - this is all about him. See, the Eight of Swords is all about isolation and self imposed restrictions. It's him growing up and doing computer programming, making life in a simulation, not actually living, stuff like that. Then there's the High Priestess - my favorite card, actually. She's brilliant. Mysteries, secrets, intuition... Well, I imagine he wouldn't like it. I know his secret now - he was on the outs with his parents, doesn't think or talk about them."

It didn't occur to Nancy to potentially withhold that information from Giouse. "Lastly, we've got the Six of Wands...This is where it gets interesting. That one's about victory, good news, being the boss. See, our new friend had a cat when he died and his cat will be adopted by some Greek woman. She'll eventually place a trinket around his neck - and she shouldn't have this," Nancy paused. If her hands were free and she had something to sketch with, she would have shown Giouse what the trinket looks like. "It has to do with Alicia's timeline - the Californian one. But you know, usual drill. Get the trinket, put it back where it belongs, and so forth."

"I should go let Eve know - I'm sure Justice is lovely in that time," Nancy said. "And dangerous. So I doubt she'll let the little Paradoxes go. They don't even know how to defend themselves."

Andromeda Aldrich

Location: Ville au Camp: Main House (Porch) -> Kitchen House
Skills: None

While Andromeda wasn't thrilled about their being only one bathroom for everyone to share, she could make it work. She had lived in the dorms in college and stayed at plenty of hostels and other alternative living situations as she traveled. Plus, it couldn't be any worse than sharing a bathroom with Walter. He took longer in the bathroom getting ready than her college roommates had - and they had gone through the entire hair and make-up routine each morning. She smiled slightly at that thought in spite of herself. It didn't matter that from where - well, when - she was that he wouldn't be born for a few decades. She felt as if 2016 and 1943 were coexisting, with Walter still alive (hopefully) and kicking.

Andromeda's thoughts occupied her throughout the tour, much as they had ever since she woke up in 1943. The architecture of the house was lovely and she was certain it was filled with history and quirks. Had she not been so preoccupied with this new existence, she would have taken a moment to examine them a little closer. In some ways, it was a bit like walking through a museum. Even the grounds forced her to remember that she was no longer in the modern age. Her hand reached up and she found the locket she had awoken with. It was a replica of the one she had had in life - one that was designed to keep the owner safe from dark forces. It hadn't done much good for her in the end, yet she fiddled with the locket as they walked outside.

Yet as she stepped inside the kitchen house, she already had a few opinions formed about her fellow Paradoxes. The shoe-less girl was a bit irritating, surprisingly less than the blonde girl. The boy - he seemed too young to be called a man - reminded her of the stereotypical rebellious genius with hints of paranoia. She wasn't sure what to make of the other two, however. They definitely seemed to know one another and from what she could tell, the ginger was already getting comfortable in this environment.

While she knew she ought to introduce herself, something held her back. Maybe after this next information session with Lady Luck.

You think I'm crazy, you think I'm gone
So what if I'm crazy? All the best people are
- "Mad Hatter" by Melanie Martinez

Location: Ville au Camp - Main House (Front Porch) --> Kitchen House
Skills: N/A

Alexandra honestly found the whole tour thing a tad boring. I mean, in comparison to the prospect of exploring newfound powers that could make even shapeshifting seem like nothing, this was downright snore-worthy. She found herself feeling more jittery by the minute. She was in desperate need for a better stimulus than what just walking around and looking at stuff could provide. The adventurous and thrill seeking side of her was itching for a release. Perhaps though in the moment it was more than just boredom. Perhaps it was that the idleness of it all made it easier for her to feel the nerves that were coursing through her veins. The very nerves she instinctively tried to deal with by using sarcasm like it was a slapped on bandage. In the end, the wound was out of sight but certainly not out of mind.

She hardly realized that her mind had drifted off until The Hat's voice pervaded her haze. "Hmmm," she murmured. "Oh?" They were moving along now? Oh, thank God. She followed along with the group back outside, hastening her steps slightly to return to the forefront of the group. Her brows furrowed as Gilbert uttered some foreign concept. "Gerr-aje?" she tried to pronunce the strange word. Her brows relaxed once more and her eyes lit up with a look of understanding when he finally explained it was the modernday equivalent to a carriage house. Interesting. She vaguely wondered though what a car was and why it needed a hole.

Her dark brown eyes gazed over at the old oak tree that she apparently came through, from her old life into this new strange one. How did one think a tree in its natural state was a good mode of transportation? The world may never know. Her mind quickly moved on to the next thing that caught her attention. Weaponry practice?! Oh hell yes! In her previous life she had been quite the fan of training. She glanced over at Bart as he spoke up and then back at Gilbert, her eyes widening. "Ooooh, vhat are ve going to fight? Golgravtiz? Yagababa? Oh please be a Yagababa. I love a good Smert' and mortar cracking to turn that witch into dust," she exclaimed eagerly, a devilish grin coming to her features. Her questions hung in the air as they entered the Kitchen House for what would be round two of the Q&A.

Faith Masters

Location: Ville au Camp - Main House (Sitting Room) -> Kitchen House
Skills: N/A

Finally! If Faith had to spend one more minute in that room with these random people not doing anything, she would have choked someone. Probably the girl who smirked at her scolding. She looked like she could use a smack in the face. Faith followed the group, eyeing her surroundings and taking note of everything. If her life in Georgia taught her anything, it was to have a backup plan, plot things out, and kill or be killed. Since it seemed like all of these would apply here, she made a mental note in case things went south.

As they went outside to the Oak Tree, Faith wondered what the man meant by weapon practice. Would they be using standard weapons like guns? Or were they outdated here too, relying on old ones like swords and crossbows? Practice couldn't hurt, but then again, Faith questions what they would be fighting, if anything? What enemies did they now have? And what, exactly, was their job? These questions plagued her to the point she wanted to shout them out at any of the Emendators she saw. But she had a feeling it would be in vain. That they would merely smirk and say "Save your questions for the end!" One of the women with them asked questions in some ridiculous accent and she felt herself getting incredibly annoyed.

She could just punch someone.

The last stop was the Kitchen house. The fact they had a separate house just for the kitchen bothered her. Why couldn't they have the kitchen in the main house? Surely in this topsy-turvy time, they found themselves in could provide that? What, they didn't have an Emendator who's power was interior decorating? Didn't Evalyn mention someone who made their rooms? Couldn't they do something? God this was irritating. Still, she followed the others, biting her tongue to the point it was about to bleed. These questions would be answered soon.

They better be.

Giosue Zino

Location: Ville au Camp: Main House: Room 202
Skills: N/A

Well if at first you don't succeed... Gio turned back around and carefully unfolded her clothes again so he could have access to it. He dug around for yet another caramel, but this time left Nancy's normal outfit strategically undone, in case he messed up the throw again. Again, he did a practice swing once, twice, three times and when he threw it this time it traveled in an identical arc as the time prior with the same results: a caramel chew on the floor. At this rate he'd end up with his room reupholstered by candies. The thought of all the dirt and hair tracking in and sticking to the candy made his shiver in disgust.

Failure to throw candy aside, having to watch Nancy try to shuffle her deck to suddenly perform a reading reminded him why he wanted to put off the restraints to the very last moment. He really hoped she didn't have the urge to sit down and check the future while she was off alone in California. It would be wildly inconvenient at the least.

As far as the reading itself went, Gio listened, but he wasn't particularly enraptured. The personal histories of the Paradoxes rarely interested him all that much. For one, he just didn't care; his attention was not held by the subject. He could control what he liked, that's just how it was. And after meeting so many of these people, it was rare for somebody to have something out there enough to catch him by surprise. Boy had family issues, died, now they needed to find his cat and get a trinket. Done.

"Focus Nancy," Gio directed when she brought up going to tell Eve about her reading. It was so simple to distract the Emendator at times, that he somehow wondered how she managed to get anything done. "We will need to tell Evelina about this, but our goal at the moment is to pull off this prank. Do not lose sight of our target now. That said, I'll jot down a reminder so as to keep this little detail from slipping our mind during the fun."

Evelina Lucas

Location: Ville au Camp - Kitchen House
Skills: Administration, Diplomacy, Memory Training, History

Setting her pipe down on the counter near the sink Evelina turned around as the group started to enter the Kitchen House. Pulling out pocket watch she look a look at it. "Right on time," she said in passing as she returned it to its home. "Punctuality. That is something that The Watch will be content to see I suspect. He does prefer that everything runs on time. I cannot say I blame him. Too much occurs in this world that could have easily been prevented if people had been on time or taken notice to the time that had passed," she added as she undid the knot of the apron she was wearing. On the table was a decent enough spread. Sandwich makings. Various meats, cheeses, vegetables, breads, and condiments. Plates, napkins, cups, and pitches of various simple drinks were there as well. A few sides, nothing big but all lunch appropriate.

"Please, help yourself. Other than reproductive functions you still need to eat and other such unmentionables," she said in passing as she hung the apron up. "Eat and I will continue as you do. I doubt you wish to wait until everyone has finished consuming." Turning she eyed Gilbert as she picked up her pipe. "Μπορείτε να περιμένετε. Έχετε ήδη φάει και το τελευταίο πράγμα που χρειάζομαι είναι να πάρετε όλο το φαγητό σας. Σφίξτε λοιπόν τον ιμάντα στον αεραγωγό σας μέχρι αργότερα." The Lady half smirked as she spoke and then turned her attention back to her newest additions.

"Now to continue. I can only assume that since I mentioned that you would have abilities you are wondering just what you would use those for. Simplest explanation is protection. Now while you are in the confines of the groups, time holds still. This day will reset as it were and begin again. It is ever here until The Watch decides differently. It helps keep things simple for us. We know who will visit each day because it is the same as the day before. Obviously other than you. New Paradoxes seem to have an unique ability to fall into the time loop and continue forward like us Emendators do. Call it a side effect of death. Outside of the ground though there are many dangers."

Taking a seat she seemed to darken as she continued, her face going from the brightness it had held since their arrival. This was the first time she spoke and it sounded dire. "There are being other than us in this world. Other than what you have known. Beings we ourselves, even after thousands of years do not know much of. In fact we do not even know what they look like for they are invisible. They are known as the Destruere. One could, but he is gone..." Her voice trailed off as she felt a knot in her throat. It was never easy speaking about Dreme. Taking a breath she continued.

"But first... Let me give you a bit of a history lesson. You see, when we came into consciousness we felt a draw to each other. You will start to feel this draw as well. To each other. A family tie if you would that will help bring you back here if you are ever lost. And a draw to correct things. You see there are many time lines in this world. In fact from you newest arrivals we have three represented. There is the worlds main time line, where things continue as long as things are fixed. There are others out there that are shoot off from the original where something got messed up along the way. While it was corrected the paths can never cross again. They just don't. This is why some of you have memories of other lives even if you died in one time line. Those of you not from the main timeline have alternates in the main of a completely different life, perhaps even in a different time period."

Picking up a tea pot she poured herself a cup of earl gray as she continued. They wanted answered, they were getting them. In bulk right now. "Now, why do things get messed up? The Destruere. Destruere are cruel, they are evil, and they are bent on destruction on any and all levels. What some belief structures might call demons or even the devil himself. Like little gremlins the span the globe, wreaking havoc where they can and even killing as they see fit. Why, no one knows. Perhaps their draw to cause such chaos is as ingrained in them as the purpose is in myself and the other Emendators is to correct their havoc. Either way, if we knew perhaps we could stop them once and for all. As for now, we can only try to pursue, capture, contain, and end them as we must."

Taking a sip of her tea she wet her throat and continued. "You can help us with that. Now, I will not lie. It will not be easy and many a Paradox have died on this path. We have lost an Emendator as well. You do not have to do this but if you chose not to help in the fight you do need to remain here on the grounds. For your safety and the safety of the time lines. Yet if you do chose to train and learn of your abilities to help us, I can say this. You will be whisked to time lines you never dreamed of, periods of time you have only read about, and even parts of space far in the future that you can only imagine when you make a wish on a star."

She paused again for a moment before continuing once again. "Some of you will leave, even if you don't die or you don't chose to. Something, we do not know what, seems to know when a Paradox has completed their life and they just are removed form the table. We do not know where you go, it seems to be a peace that comes over a Paradox in a moment. Perhaps like a ghost finally finding peace and a haunting stops. Either way. There is it. I will say while you are here, whether you chose to help or not you will feel a desire to, coming here seems to ingrain one with a purpose. I do not question the purpose, somethings in life we just must do because we must do them."

"Like now...." Evelina added as she pulled out a hand full of dice from her pocket. Not one, not two, this was large scale. As many as she could hold in her pale fingers. She glanced towards Gilbert and gave him a knowing look. This happened from time to time. An event so large it caused devastation on more than just a single person level. It had happened the day that Alicia had died, it had happened the moment James had died, now it was happening again. Turning her hand she let the dice fall and clink onto the table. They hit and spun, she didn't even bother to look at them, her eyes staying locked on Gilberts as they came to a stop. She didn't have to see to know what just happened, neither did he. One something this large, it just became part of the historical download they seemed to have with the world. This was a large scale death.

Slowly her eyes turned towards Andromeda. She said nothing. Just sat there for a moment before looking at the dice and gathering them back up. "Such a pity," she said quietly as she placed the dice back into her pocket and rose from her place. "That is all you need to know now. I will answer 1 question from each of you. I will take no questions for at least an hour for I do not want you to waste them on infantile curiosity. Something to remember. I may not answer your question, no matter what it is. I owe you nothing, neither does any other Emendator or Paradox. So if you feel that way, perhaps it is better you depart quickly. There is no such thing as entitlement or privileges here."

With that Evelina turned her attention away from her words and changed subjects a hair. "Those from the state of Georgia during the Undead plague, do go outside. Alicia should be waiting for you. Andromeda, if you would, do please come with me. The rest of you are with Gilbert. We are dividing up now for more extended tours of the grounds. Finish up your meal or bring it with you. Andromeda, I will be on the back steps waiting for when you are ready. Take you time, we have all the time in the world." Turning she walked towards the back door of the kitchen house before pausing and stopping at the doorway. Resting her hand on the frame she glance back at the new group. This was going to be interesting. Turning she continued on her way and stepped out onto the back steps to wait.

Alicia Gonzalez

Location: Ville au Camp - Pedestrian Corridor -> Front Porch Kitchen House
Skills: Empathy

They may have had all the time in the world but Alicia knew that certain things had to happen at certain times. At least that is how it had been explained to her. She could debate either for or against that statement but she didn't bother. At least not anymore. She had been a lot more pushy when she first arrived. Now she picked her battles. It kept her from stalking around the grounds with the Gonzalez grimace permanently affixed to her features. Not that it was a bad look but it tended to make people a bit hostile towards her. She couldn't blame them, her father had perfected the look and she was sure that he had scared at least one person to death using it in his life.

Looking down at the time she got the look for a minute before she took off running. She was going to be late. Not that it really mattered to her since she couldn't die of traditional means but she could still suffer from a lecture from Evelina or Gio on the importance of being punctual. That was something she didn't want to deal with right then. It was better to be on time than to have more time wasted being told how important time was. Alicia had just reached the bottom step of the kitchen house when the wind picked up. That made her freeze in her tracks. There was not winds this heavy this time of the day. No, this day had a nice breeze, it didn't have real wind. This was high speed wind and the temperature dropped a good twenty degrees suddenly.

Glancing up at the sky it was turning dark, like a storm was rolling in and there was a crackle in the air. Alicia could feel the hair on the back of her neck rising from the static electricity, it was something everyone on the grounds would feel. Something else, that everyone would hear, was the sudden crackle of lightning in the air and a bolt hitting only about thirty feet from the back of the kitchen house. "WHAT THE FUCK!" Alicia yelled.

Taking a step off the back porch Evelina looked back inside. "Andromeda dear, do lock down your emotions before you cause a tornado to come through the kitchen. I don't want dinner ruined," she said in a calm voice before taking a puff from her pipe. It seemed that someone had presented with their first ability.

Sophia Harris

Location: Ville au Camp: Main House, Sitting Room
Skills: N/A

Sophia smiled towards Bart for a moment at his comment not dying again, which was something that she didn't want to go through again as she looked towards Gilbert and nodded. She started to follow him across the yard, eyeing the small structures at the other end she assumed that they were garages which Gilbert had just confirmed that they were. It was certainly a pretty long walk to get to a vehicle which she wondered what was exactly inside them. Knowing that they were in the 40's, then they walked past the oak tree that they all had woken up under where Alicia had greeted them. Sophia looked towards Alexandra the girl seemed to be very excitable about this new life as well, looking confused at the woman when she mentioned somethings called Golgravtiz Yagababa.

She really didn't know what those things were at all and she assumed that they were things from the woman's time wherever she had died from anyway. Sophia looked around the grounds a little bit longer it did look rather peaceful, she looked towards Bart once more brining up weapons practice, eyeing Gilbert the man did seem to be very large and could handle fighting several people at once if he could. Sophia though continued to follow the other until they were at the kitchen house, walking up the ramp of it and then entered the building itself.

Seeing Evelina there waiting for them holding up a pocket watch in her hands, mentioning someone by the name of The Watch, these people certainly did have weird names. Then she eyed all the food that was spread out across the table, various condiments, spreads, meats, cheeses and breads. It all looked really good as Sophia nodded as she reached for a plate setting it aside for now as she grabbed two pieces of bread, as well as a slice of meat and some cheese as well. She wanted something simple and nothing to fancy with her sandwich, once she got what she needed Sophia grabbed herself a cup, and a pitcher and filled herself a glass of water. Though it took her a bit longer to get everything all together then she'd like having one hand to do everything was a bit harder.

"Thank you for setting all of this up." Sophia said towards Evelina as she looked towards the others for a moment before turning her attention towards her, they still needed food, and to go number one and two was good to know still. Sophia listened closely as well as starting to eat her sandwich, mentioning the time loop like Alicia had mentioned earlier when she first woke up. Evelina then started to mention the other dangers in the world, Walkers she could handle she eyed the woman mentioning the Destruere. And that they didn't know much about them and they apparently lost one of their own against them, she wasn't sure how she could fight against something that was invisible. She thought that Walkers were worse but apparently the Destruere were most likely worse then the dead were, Sophia took another bite out of her sandwich and then another drink.

Then mentioning that they could go anywhere in time, the past or the future that did intrigued her a little bit and wondered if there was another version of herself in any of the other timelines. Then Evelina changed the subject looking over towards James when Evelina said that they were all getting split up for separate extended tours across the grounds. She started to think if she should either fight or remain on the grounds, when they did go out on missions. It did answer some of her questions about what her new life was going to be like, she was about to get up when she noticed the clouds started to get darker, and a bright flash of lightening came crashing down which made her jump. Someone started to get their powers now that were mentioned earlier, Sophia eyed the pale woman who she now knew her name was the one who apparently caused it.

Gilbert Summers, "The Hat"

Location: Ville au Camp - Kitchen House
Skills: N/A

Questions. There were always questions from new Paradoxes, even when they were told specifically when, where, and to what extent they would be answered, just so long as they showed a little patience. But they did show the extent to their unbreakable curiosity. The rest... Shock and depression had nasty ways of both covering up amd revealing elements of their personality. Gilbert just smiled at the incoming inquiries, responding with, "All in good time. I know this is maddening, and I know you need answers. You'll get some of them in the Kitchen House, I promise." He waited outside of the door for the newcomers to enter, then followed casually behind. Evie had Part Two of the introductory speech to give, all in good order.

Evie did always like to keep things orderly. Much of the time, that also meant that she liked to be in charge. Especially during times like this, with new Paradoxes coming in. It set a standard that they noticed and took to, filling their preconceived notions of hierarchy. Well, that wasn't a huge deal for Gil. He had been the ruler of the greatest civilization that humanity had known, once upon a time. It didn't do him a bit of good now. In the impossibly long lives of Emendators, power was a comparatively fleeting thing. When the chips were down and it was within the best interests of everyone concerned, Gilbert's words and actions meant just as much as anyone else's here. The problem being, he was the eternal warrior. If he asserted authority over a situation because of his expertise, it meant that people were very likely going to die. So, taking a backseat was preferable.

He flashed a smile in Evelina's direction. She did seem do like speaking to him in Greek. Patting his stomach, he responded, "Oh no, Miss Evelina. I couldn't possibly. Thank you, though. Everything looks great." Of course, this was not the proper response, but he doubted that anyone else in the room spoke Greek fluently.

Then The Dice lived up to her name. Lots and lots of times. Gilbert held onto the gaze of his fellow Emendator, listening to the tumbling and rolling of the mass of polyhedrons clicking and clacking upon the table. Even if the knowledge of human events did not leap into his memory automatically, he would have known what that meant. Gilbert did not speak, though a heavy sigh escaped his lips. It was truly a shame and a tragedy, this coming from a man who has, in his long lifetime, had personally killed thousands and thousands.

Clearing his throat, Gil looked around to who was left, aside from the residents of the Undead Timeline and the pale lady, Andromeda. "Alright guys, grab what you're going to grab. We don't charge anything, so go nuts. For the rest od the day, we're going to be pals." Then Gilbert heard the winds. He felt the temperature drop and heard the booming crack of thunder. Casually, he reached for a pickle on the table. A satisfying crunch into it, he spoke with his mouth partially full, "Huh, weather manipulator. Those are rare... Alright, are we ready? Who's with me?"

James Grady

Location: Ville au Camp - Kitchen House
Skills: N/A

James was a fairly unhappy man. The more questions he got answered, whether he vocalized them or not, the more he felt like a hammer or a drill; a thing brought out for specific purpose, maybe even appreciated, but ultimately a tool to be utilized by forces from which the only respite was death. Again. Hopefully there was more to it. They revealed much of this piecemeal. This last bit, about invisible monsters and fixing timelines? That was a lot to swallow. At least he had a couple of friends with him, one of which had even learned the ropes here.

Oh, he fully intended to ask the Dice Lady a question. He agreed that this wasn't a thing to rush into, either. Care must be taken to ensure that a properly phrased query, specific yet leading to broader understanding, could be formulated. James did take the oppprtunity to slap a pile of meat onto a slab of bread, though. Evidently, dying did not curb his appetite mucb. When Evelina divided them into groups, was pleased to note that he was with the friends of his previous life, more or less, and opted to take his impromptu dagwood with him rather than stick around indoors.

Perhaps that last decision was a heaping mistake, considering the sudden and dramatic change in weather. "Hot, messy, goddamn!" he exclaimed over the wind, "This happen everyday here?" When he found out that it was a power manifesting, a sense of curiosity came over him. He wondered what would happen when it was his turn. Thoughtfully, James put a blackneck sized bitemark into the side of his sandwich.

Nancy Parker

Location: Ville au Camp: Main House (Room 202)
Skills: None

Giouse wasn't wrong - it was easy to distract Nancy at times. Had she not been an Emendator and instead a normal human being, she likely would have been diagnosed with an attention deficit disorder. Instead, she was a practically immortal wild child(?) with powerful and dangerous abilities. To those who followed the old Norse religion, she was the malicious and chaotic god of mischief. The centuries old misgendering amused her to no end. In fact, she blinked for a moment, having gotten caught in her own train of thought before nodding at Giouse.

"I was focused - just on something else," Nancy argued. Her thoughts flickered back towards getting out of this stuffy old loop and going on a mission. While she was with her fellow Emendators by choice and they were her family, she still longed to see the world. Ville au Camp had been fun and exciting when they first arrived, but its novelty had worn off, just as with every other location they inhabited throughout the ages. She tried to throw her hands together in excitement as she heard the crack of lightning strike and the rumble of thunder.

She adored the rain but above all else, it was yet another new source of excitement. "Don't need a reading to tell you what just happened - either you've lost your touch and the loop broke, or a new Paradox just presented an ability," Nancy wagered. "Might be a good time for you to go talk to Evelina about California - not the California mission but the Old West Prank Extravaganza." She couldn't help but wonder for a moment if any of the new Paradoxes were Vikings. The last time she had been around Vikings, an angry mob had taken the stories and myths about her way too seriously. But it had also been the reason she met Gio - so all in all, it wasn't a too terrible way to get run out of Scandinavia.

Andromeda Aldrich

Location: Ville au Camp: Kitchen House
Skills: None

Golgravtiz? Yagababa? She hadn't heard those terms before, but from context, they sounded like necromantics to her. It wasn't too surprising that she didn't know about all of the ones in existence. Not even the most experience hunters knew about all of them - her world was practically overrun with things that went bump in the night. And given that she didn't know quite yet about alternate timelines, she had to assume that they all came from a similar world. Hopefully, none of them had any family at Altsoba. She doubted they'd take too kindly to learning who her brother was.

She took her seat at the table and placed a small portion of food on her plate, yet she was paying too close attention to Lady Luck's every word that her food largely went untouched. She couldn't help but find it all a little bit ironic - she had died due to an anomaly in time and here she was, about to live her second life out in another one. No memories of another life came to mind as well as Evelina began her explanations - perhaps they were there and she was just too focused on the one she felt was her real life - the one in her timeline. From Lady Lucas' explanation of the Destruere, she couldn't help to posit that her timeline wasn't the main one.

Her eyes flashed up as Lady Lucas mentioned the devil. In her timeline, the devil had walked the Earth - was he a product of the Destruere, then? Or was he simply one of them? She clenched her hand unconsciously as her mind continued to mull all of this over. Her gut clenched as Lady Lucas took out a handful of dice and rolled them onto the table, noticing the way the Emendator's eyes flickered towards her. A mixture of panic and fear came over her. She was almost certain those rolls had to do with her timeline - why else would Lady Lucas have looked at her in particular?

Normally, her mind would have already been going into overdrive, trying to come up with the best possible question to ask Lady Lucas. Instead, she felt nervous and sick to her stomach. She nodded as Lady Lucas said she could bring her food with her or finish it there - she had taken a bite out of it at most. She jumped slightly as the lightning struck, entirely unaware that she had been the one responsible for it. She took a deep breath, trying to get a damper on her emotions as Lady Lucas had suggested.

"Sorry, just a bit stressed," Andromeda said, the first words she had spoken in front of almost everyone in the group. She noticed the ginger give her a glance. She took a second bite out of her food, before deciding she didn't really have much of an appetite. She then quickly followed Evelina outside to the steps where she had been instructed to meet her.

Bartholomew nodded at Gilbert's response, it being about what he expected. His patience would have to go just a bit longer. He shuffled into the kitchen, to see Eve waiting for them. His eyes locked back onto her, still jarred from her last comment. His stomach grumbled as he saw the food on the table, and made himself a sandwich as she continued to explain their current predicament. He wolfed down his food, dying apparently having taken a lot out of him. He did find it odd that Miss Lucas repeatedly said things in a a language none of them knew, apparently to Gilbert. Was she so blatant about keeping things hidden from them?

He listened as she explained the time loop, and put it together that this must be The Watch's power, unless they had some kind of insane technology from the future, but given the Emenedator's name, he favored this idea. He didn't quite understand what she meant by falling into the loop, but there were still more important things to worry about, as he was about to get the answer to the biggest thing on his mind since he got here. He nodded along, a frown across his face, his predictions coming true, at least partially. They were soldiers against these Destruere, whatever they were. The idea of something pure evil didn't exactly mesh with Bart's worldview, but that didn't really matter. If he was to believe the Eve, which was still in contention, then these things were diametrically opposed to the goals of human kind, and he'd rather humans keep living. That doesn't meant he was at all comfortable with the idea of killing something though, containment seemed more moral.

But as far as he could see the options, it was either die now, or die later, and as he'd already said, he didn't have any plans on dying again soon. Besides that, it was far to tantalizing, seeing the world, and all of time, and getting superpowers. The only major cause of concern was the feeling Miss Lucas described, of needing to help, sounded unnatural and weird, and he didn't at all like the idea of something messing with his mind. But maybe he could deal with that, it was better than dying for sure. He then watched in surprise as Evelina pulled out a large number of dice and rolled them all. Concern crossed his face when he saw the look she gave Andromeda, and his gaze followed over to her, before returning to Miss Lucas.

Bart gave a hum when she said she'd answer a question from each of them. This felt totally unfair, but he wasn't at all in a position to argue, he couldn't make her give him answers. He looked down at the table, and drummed his fingers on the table. He'd need to carefully consider what his question would be, and thought about her words. On the topic of nobody owing anybody anything, he supposed that applied to her as well. It seemed evident that he was not brought to life out of the goodness of Eve's heart, but rather because she wanted him to help her, and therefore, they should be on equal footing with each other. He'd truly take her words to heart.

Bart turned his attention back to Gill as Eve divided them all up. He was still a bit peckish, and so he grabbed a slice of bread, buttered it, and nibbled on it. He then felt the room suffer a massive drop in temperature and what sounded like a lighting bolt, making him shiver. "Is that normal around here?" He inquired, before eating the rest of his bread and standing up, crossing his arms to keep them warm. He then heard The Hat talking about a weather manipulator, and figured that one of his fellow paradoxes, or even maybe himself, must have done that. He stood up, and nodded, "I'm ready. You're um... The Hat right? Alicia said you decorated my room... Thank you." He said, perhaps a bit awkwardly, "I was just wondering though, how'd you know I'd want those things?" He was curious how much they knew about him, and knowing how they got that information could tell him that.
