@SleepingSilence I have to be honest, I lol'ed. But still, it's against the rules to...do everything you just did.

Particularly rules 1 & 2, and many of their sub rules. I will take it under consideration with the other mods on if there will be a warning, though there will be none at this time. However, watch yourself.

@Pepperm1nts You might not have flown off the handle but you clearly weren't being civil and didn't help defuse anything. Next time something like this is mounting, PM me or another mod instead of engaging.

This is like the comtainment zone for toxicity. Enter at own risk, and always wear a NBC suit lol.

And it seems libertarians are a very specific set of political views. The whole non aggression and small goverment are heavy in there idea. Thry have few comparisons.

There takw on things from a Euro perspective is left... But not our left. Our left leans more to control and saftey nets, a heavier hand in things. There's a stronger influence on society.

This kind of left is a very off hand form, and indevicdualistic but more to centre I think. America entire ratio is skewed to Europe's right. Our left to far left would be posetively extreme and near communism on the scale.

I was actually trying to change the subject Grey Knight.

I wanted to talk about biased wikis like conservapedia and rational wiki and was using that as a jumping off point.

If a site has correct information, and it cannot even be refuted by the opposition in anyway, how negative is left leaning or right leaning, or whatever leaning content? Didn't quite get that explained to me...

And let me be clear, it needs to be refuted, or it's not a legitimate argument.

Lots of discussions going on my end locally with Whitmer taking the primary. I didn't vote for her, but a lot of my other candidate votes won out so I can't be too fussed.

So Unite the Right Rally 2 (follow up to charlottesville) was pretty dead.

In all the video footage I've seen I can only spot about 20-30 of Jason Kessler's crowd together, the fracturing in the American white identitarian movement is pretty damn fractured indeed.



Also the rhetoric has toned down, look at 1:16 he's now got a 'based' black friend and is saying he 'isnt a white nationalist' and is 'okay with sharing the country with people around the world.' This a walk back from what he was saying at the first rally.



I was hoping this would be another intriguing shitshow, but it just looks kinda boring tbh.

But.. I was told confronting racists on the streets would only embolden them... how could this be? Shouldn't there be millions of nazis marching in the streets right now? I cannot believe putting nazis down actually worked, no.. this is impossible.

Sarcasm aside I mostly agree with you.

Strong effective counter protesting and exposing those on the fringe does work.
Intimidation and violence is what emboldens people.

I think the fact is that everyone knew they had eyes on them and for the most part didnt really get into any fights, also a lot of the big names in the alt right includinf spencer, anglin, cantwell just straight up decided not to go because it was 'bad for optics'. The only 'leader' there was the fat, arrogant, borderline 'alt lite' Jason Kessler who is unpopular in his own circles and a total nobody to everyone else.

It was a pretty toothless rally from the jump.
