Hawk: for Aeron, yes.

Or for the guy who'd like to be alive.

Hawk: he is a shell of who he used to be. Barely human. Kirina ruined whohe was. Made him weak. Too weak to help anyone. We'd be doing him a favor, and even he would admit to that.

A being's worth isn't determined by how many people they help. Not entirely, anyway.

Then yes, for all intents and purposes people have died on the net. But humans entering the net in the first place is a rarity.

When you answer the question, it makes me sound silly. Not like people would be immortal just for being here.

Hawk:
These fools don't even realize whats going on, here. I'm trying to prevent the end of everything, but theyd rather their friend stay alive than saving themselves.

That is their fatal flaw. To save a friend, they would sacrifice anything.

*Frowns*
I thought it was a great question. It would make sense for nothing here to affect a real entity.

I don't think I agree with that. Having your heart set on murder is wrong.

I don't think his focus is specifically murder, but rather practicality and a sense of responsibility.

You don't casually kill someone out of practicality.

Getting rid of a threat isn't practical?

No, it's not. Not unless that person is an enemy.

*Raises an eyebrow.*
I'll agree that it's a bit hasty to get rid of a threat before they're an enemy, but I would refute that it's very practical when it solves the situation.

No, because practicality should involve the least loss.

That's not what a threat it. That chip is off the table, so you're going to have to ask for something else.

The ultimatum is that we'll get nowhere by being stubborn about absolutes. To be frank, I don't want him dead either. Heck, I would gladly talk him out of his currently broken mindset if I could.
But as it stands the best I can do is try and at least resolve this situation so that something other then fighting happens and we get somewhere with it. I'm not asking you to trust them, or to even like the situation, but I am asking you to at least deal with the situation for long enough so that we have a better chance of not letting Shinji die.
