@Vec Oh no, he at first was anything but a Diviner, and now he's anything but a Pyromancer lol. He always liked Biomancy cause he wants to join the Khenetai and was fascinated by their healing ^_^

I'll give my aptitude section another look to make sure I made that clear.

@Dead Cruiser Just to check, but if a type of magic is on the 'bleeding edge' it would not be available to be learned or specialized in yes? Or would someone be able to some to specialize in it to help the field grow and get more students, etc?

@Gisk Overall it looks fine. My only note is that there is not only one Fellowship for scientists or prostitutes. Think of them like union chapters, they can become rather specific. The scientist's Fellowship might be for whatever particular branch of science she studies, biologists perhaps, and the other sisters' might be something like "Fellowship of the Sisters of Silk." A minor point, but this information wasn't available to you previously.

@Crusader Lord I use that description to mean that it is a field that has not had much work done in it yet, and those engaging in its research are among the most innovative and respected Sorcerers in the Heka. Returning to my old analogy, your characters are freshman physics undergrads, and something like Death Magic is like using the Hubble to look for exoplanets. Suffice to say, if I've dubbed something too advanced for your characters at the moment, just put it out of your mind.

Definitely interested. But I am seeing multiple Biomancers already, so I guess I will make that a secondary area of study, or look at something else completely.

Would a character looking into immortality through Biomancy be fine? This would generally be approached by healing "wear and tear". Mix in some "Telepathy" magic in order to help preserve the mind.

Does "Pyromancy" cover "Cryomancy" as well, as it is just slowing down and removing energy as compared to speeding it up?

Is there any Space manipulation magic yet (bags of holding, rooms larger on the inside then outside, teleportation, ect)? If not, is that reachable (long term goal) through "Divination" (aka Time magic) or would that be a different branch? Looks like it would be...

Oh, and I would be unavailable to post most weekends.

@Zardoric Using Biomancy to extend one's lifespan is a relatively common practice among Sorcerers. The most obvious practitioner being the Crimson King himself, who is at least as old as Photep.

Most Sorcery involves a positive influx of energy. It's exponentially more difficult to remove energy than it is to introduce more. That said, what one might describe as "Cryomancy" falls under the umbrella of the unsanctioned Discipline of Aeromancy.

Telekinesis covers teleportation, and could reasonably be used to achieve the other ends you describe.

Hmm... So branches of Aeromancy would probably include the anti-magic group of spells and whatnot then, which could be a very good reason as to why it is unsanctioned... as even a small mistake could have horrible results.

Gravity magic would probably be Extremely difficult considering the amount of energy involved...

How difficult is it to affect magical energy with magical energy? Looking at disrupting spells by throwing "wild" energy into it...

How perceptive of the magic energy is everyone? As in can anyone see the raw energy and/or tell an object is enchanted/infused with it, are the spells to do so fairly common and low level, or is it all purely "perceived" within the mind?

@Zardoric Countermagic is a tenet of basic/general magical study. Essentially how to undo a spell that goes wrong, or defend oneself against magical attack. There are a variety of different ways to skin that particular cat, such as using Telepathy to disrupt the spell structure, or just literally deflecting or destroying it with Telekinesis. Different problems require different solutions, which is why the most effective Sorcerers have well-rounded foundations in the fundamentals of each major Discipline.

Adding more energy to a spell that you're trying to counter... It could make it blow up in someone's face. But nothing would stop it from blowing you up as well.

Sensing magic is another fundamental skill that varies depending on the individual. It requires training your senses to detect the presence of the Aether. What this means for everyone is different, and not due to preference, literally everyone "feels" magic a different way.

@Theyra A couple of things... It's important to remember that the civil aspect of the Red Order is as important as the martial aspect. Unless the Nouzari were also reputable civil engineers, I don't think they would be inordinately recruited for their fighting skills. Also, those already within the Order would know very well that one cannot will their way into the Order, they have to be selected. The other thing is that Geomancy is a Minor Discipline that would not be taught at a pre-vocational level.
