Moon Knight kind of became the new hotness for me after many years of only ever apping Q and occasionally the Punisher in these games. I tried my best to come up with a cool concept for Q that was unique from what I'd already done to avoid retreading old ground, but I found that I was at a loss for anything beyond my initial arc. So rather than continue beating a dead horse, I'm going to beat a dying horse. Marc's origin is pretty standard Moon Knight fair: mercenary, killed by Bushman, resurrected by Khonshu, came back to America to become Moon Knight. Marc and his alters have just begun their superhero career, only active in NYC as Moon Knight for about two months at the start of my run. His supporting cast will be composed of the initial supporting cast from the 80s Moench run (with a far more removed Marlene because I do NOT find her interesting), with some characters from MK's later runs such as Detective Flint and Layla El-Faouly thrown in. Because I do plan on getting back to Odyssey at some point, I do not plan to retread the ground I was planning on treading there. In Odyssey, I was planning on telling a story focused on Marc's Midnight Mission and him taking on almost exclusively supernatural threats. I do still plan on doing a few supernatural plots but the main focus will be on the criminal underworld of NYC, paying respects to Silverstein's Daredevil/Elektra concept where NYC has become a cyberpunk dystopia but without all the cool shit. While Silverstein plans on focusing on the political and social corruption of the Big Apple as well as DD and Elektra fighting more monstrous versions of their usual rogues, I plan on Marc tackling smaller scale threats such as gangs, mobs, and lower tier metahumans and mutants. P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ) P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ) My goal is to get into crossovers (which I haven't done in almost two years and before that it had been six years) and focusing on a "villain of the week" style formula when I do solo posts, with small self contained arcs each lasting a post or two, three tops. To get myself started, I plan on throwing myself into Roman's monster attack in NYC and going from there. If you're in NYC or any of the adjacent cities or can realistically slot your character in AND any of these catch your eye, feel free to send me a PM on RPG or a DM on Discord about making it a crossover. Roughly Chronological Order Hungry Like The Wolf - Moon Knight is hired by the Committee to capture a werewolf that has been stalking Staten Island, putting him on a collision course with a young lycanthropic man named Jack Russell. Midnight In A Perfect World - The Midnight Man has been striking art galleries and private collections throughout New York City, stealing priceless paintings and sculptures. Moon Knight takes it upon himself to investigate. The Killing Moon - A ruthless vigilante, the Stained Glass Scarlet, has been striking the mob families of New York City, leaving crossbow bolt ridden bodies in her wake. Conflicted on her methods, Marc tries to seek her out to decide if he needs to stop her or if he should just leave her be. Came Back Haunted - Marlene enlists Moon Knight's help after her brother Dr. Peter Alraune begins receiving threats to his life from a former patient named Robert Markham. The strange thing is, Robert Markham died four months ago. More to come. |

I think I’m going to withdraw my Spider-Man application. Besides preferring Eddie’s post to my own, I realise I don’t have a massive passion for this idea like I do with Ben and a few others I’ve been turning over in my head.
May try a different idea at one point soon, but for now I’m happy with just Ben
All this talk of Ben and Spider-Man in the same sentences got me sweating.
That's it. I'm bringing my second sheet to the board:The Thing
Scarlet Spider
Obi-Wan Kenobi
Señor Chang
Ice Clown
Treasure Hunter Gates
The Running Man
Hawkeye Pierce
The Man Who Aged Backwards
Matlock
Ben Solo

C H A R A C T E R C O N C E P TThe first fifteen years of Peter Parker's life were remarkably normal. The last five have been anything but. When thinking about how I would approach Spider-Man in this new continuity, I found that neither did I want to go with an older, settled-down version nor did I want to strip him down to the studs and leave myself the work of gradually introducing all the classic elements -- which led to this compromise, an in media res approach where we're meeting the character at the beginning of his prime. Five years felt like the sweet spot: enough experience to where Pete feels like he's seen it all, not enough experience to say he actually has.
Making Pete a college student also positions him nicely within the larger universe. He's still significantly younger and more immature than the movers and shakers, your Superman/Batman/Captain Americas of the world. At the same time, he's just old enough to mentor the likes of the Teen Titans, Ms. Marvel, and perhaps even a young Miles Morales, should an interested player turn up. This age puts him on a level with folks like Dick Grayson, Barbara Gordon, and Roy Harper, which is great place for someone like Peter to live, in my opinion.
As for storytelling, I'm a genre purist. I just want to provide fun, digestible adventures surrounded by all the interpersonal drama we've come to associate with Spider-Man. One of the things that keeps drawing me back to the character is not just Peter himself but the richness of his supporting cast; from love interests to villains, best friends and everything in between, there are so many moving pieces that I can't imagine how anyone could ever get bored. I certainly haven't, and that's why I've deliberately picked a time in Peter's life when his personal circle was the widest -- and that's before we even get into player-to-player interactions, which I intend to more consciously pursue.__________________________________________________________________________________P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S )
P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S )The goal here is less reinvention and more reinvigoration. I want to avoid the malaise that has largely hung over modern Spider-Man comics by returning everyone's favorite wall-crawler back to an earlier time, a cleaner time in his history. While I can find something to love about every era of Peter Parker's life, I truly believe that his Empire State days are unmatched in their storytelling potential: you have the Coffee Bean Gang, the full Daily Bugle crew, Gwen and Mary Jane's Betty & Veronica dynamic, the looming threat of Norman Osborn's relapse, all the classic villains already introduced... It's the ideal pressure cooker to keep Peter on his back foot.
Of course, I'm not here just to relive the glory days. While I won't pretend that I'm not already thinking of how to adapt and reinvent classic Spider-Man stories, my main focus is still to leverage the "One Universe" concept to its full potential. There are some DC baddies who'd feel right at home in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man, and I'm particularly keen on seeing how the web-head could interact with a whole new batch of heroes."Okay, byeee, criminals! Catch you later. Literally."___

P O S T C A T A L O G U E P O S T C A T A L O G U E _________________________________________________________ 01 - TBD- | C H A R A C T E R C O N C E P T C H A R A C T E R C O N C E P T ___________________________________________________________________________________ For a long time I've been pondering how to adapt an Invincible concept to these games while also maintaining the DC/Marvel focus they tend to have. Right now seems like a pretty good time to attempt this balance given the more varied concepts this game as well as the nice gaps people have left with their concepts I can fill in. With many of Kirkman's concepts being 'how he would do x hero team' I felt replacing the Teen Team with the actual Teen Titans (or just Titans in this case) worked well, with a combination of their Invincible comic characters and Titans team members. Given the Bat related sheets have steered clear of defining anything for Nightwing I don't think this should be treading on any toes, but as with anything, happy to change to accommodate. It's definitely a bigger supporting cast than I am used to defining but I'm trying to push myself a bit more with this one. Mark Grayson grew up knowing his father was one the most powerful hero on the planet, and for a long time that felt like a gift. Then his own powers emerged and the gift came with weight: expectations, comparisons, and a world already full of legends. He has been Invincible for a few years now — long enough to have earned his name and the attention of the GDA, not long enough to feel certain about any of it. Mark Grayson is nineteen, about to start college, and increasingly aware that more established heroes, most notably the Titans, seem to have already figured out things he hasn't. He hasn't committed to the them, or indeed any other formal institution; he tells himself it's about freedom, but some of it is about not wanting to be seen as a sidekick to his own era. His Viltrumite heritage is, to him, simply the reason his dad is strong and he is too. He has no knowledge of the Viltrum Empire, no sense of the ancient divergence from the ancient proto-Kryptonian spacefaring civilisation, and no idea that his father is anything other than the hero he presents as. That unknowing is the quiet fault line running under everything. The story is about what happens when the ground starts to shift. P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ) P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ) __________________________________________________________________________________ The immediate arc centres on Mark beginning university while navigating an increasingly complex heroic landscape. The GDA's sponsorship of the Titans puts him in proximity to Cecil Stedman — a man whose methods he already finds uncomfortable. The Titans themselves represent a kind of peer pressure: join, contribute, commit. Mark wants to do things his way, which is half principle and half the fact that he genuinely doesn't know what his way is yet. As Kryptonians exist in this setting I think the best way to merge the existence of Kypton and Viltrum to an extent. Viltrum was an off shoot of the ancient Kryptonian spacefaring society (in the vein of Last Days of Krypton) before they self-isolated themselves, and have developed significantly differently in the time apart. They would not have been aware of each other due to the vast span of time involved and efforts by both to eradicate complicated history. I am more than happy to change this based on feedback from relevant parties but it seemed a reasonable mystery I could eventually explore. The shadow of Omni-Man underlies everything. Nolan is managing his own crisis of faith alongside a calculated patience, and Mark is the unwitting variable in both. The goal is not to rush that revelation but to seed it — through Mark's growing discomfort with his father's certainty, through encounters that Nolan handles in ways that don't quite add up. This is notably later than this occurs in the show or comics, as I would like to tell that story without making it an established part of the game's lore, as well as the presence of something of the big hitters of DC and Marvel provide a fairly compelling reason for Nolan to delay any attempts he has to co-opt his son into his grand schemes |
