April 1st, 2026. Quite a few things have changed in the past 10 years. The Western Civilization has cleaned house, as a result of many protests, movements and changes made in the political aspect of many nations, including that of the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Germany and Australia. With the Age of Information in full swing, the truth of our world was brought to the light of the people, and at this point, they were upset, and they wanted change. This wave of change that took place from early 2014 all the way up to late 2021 is what brought reform to many nations around the globe. Governments were overthrown in the weakest of nations, and while some of them were replaced with newer, better governments, some were replaced with weak governments that allowed criminals, rebels and terrorists to live in their midst, and tyrannical governments that were worse than their predecessors. The dust was finally starting to settle this year, and after a rough few years around the world, many can say that it changed for the better, but some will say it changed for the worst.

While the seedy truths of the world governments, fortune 500 companies and massive NGO superpowers were surfaced within the sights of the people, many people have discovered the existence of the supernatural, and that it has been kept hidden from the public for the longest amount of time. The supernatural was a term that included the existence of superhumans, demons, angels, aliens, and even other forms of life that no one thought existed. For the longest amount of time, these beings, whether they be heroes, villains, or neutral individuals, kept their existence hidden for the longest amount of time, whether it would be from living in isolation or being incognito amongst many normal folks around them. However, once the truth was brought to light, no one believed them. They were either covered up or dismissed as hoaxes. Many of the world's inhabitants were ignorant of the existence of these supernatural beings... until now.

A week beforehand, letter was sent to quite a few of those individuals themselves. Most of these letters went to people who lived around the Southern California area, but some of the letters were sent all over the globe. The letter itself invited the reader to meet the writer over at Dock 32 in San Diego, California, and to bring a whole lot of their personal belongings, as they are recruiting talented individuals such as themselves. The letter was quite formal, and very polite, and it was personalized to everyone, as well as the abilities they possessed. However, all of them had the same property: they were all signed by Lisa Martinez, and had a unique emblem stamped on it, an emblem that read Powerbound Alliance.

And so, the adventure begins!

Nations

Quite a few things have changed in that of the world governments. Massive reform was brought to that of Western Nations, especially that of the United States, Britain, Canada, Australia and Germany, as their people were fed up with the way things were, and demanded change to be made. Corporate welfare were done for, corporation's power over the people and the government was throttled, corrupt politians were impeached and voted out of office, and workers were paid and protected as they should have been. While the people got their rights back, some had them taken away from even more. Surveillance was everywhere, police officers in America were getting rougher and more militarized, and violence was at an increase.

However, things didn't go so well for those in countries who aren't as well off as those in the West. While the war in Syria ended, it left the country in such great ruin, that the victorious faction couldn't even bring repairs to it in any way shape or form. A few other nations in the Middle East have crumbled, including that of Kazakstan and Oman. The Venezuelan government has also caved, and was taken over by a right-wing facist party, and quite a few countries in Africa also fell to rebels demanding change. However, Iraqi Kurdistan was granted independence, and was very swiftly under the control of the PUK. Scotland was also granted independence, and so was Somaliland. Tensions are growing in between Kurdistan and Turkey, and things are shifting into the fascist territory in South America.

COLOMBIA

Colombia hasn't changed much since 2016, still running under a somewhat flawed democracy with some rigged elections and stuff like that, but people were living contently, despite some of the crime that goes around in the cities and the massive poverty rates that the many people in the country suffer from. For a while, the drug cartels in the country ran the streets, and ran the government as well. People who got involved, either by accident or on purpose, were often maimed, tortured, put into poverty, or murdered with their entire families. Even with police crackdowns, nothing really changed much, except that the Cartels were much less public about what they did. Things changed though when the Powerbound Alliance showed up, where in a few months time, they took control of the many cartels that ran Colombia by destroying their product, severing the head of the snake, and taking all of the cash. By then, the economy of Colombia was starting to recover now that the money was no longer being taken or kept from the people, but many are dissatisfied, and still believe the drug cartels are still running things and hurting people...

KURDISTAN

The Kurds finally got their shot of glory once ISIS showed up to their doorsteps in 2012, in both Syria and Iraq. Once ISIS took away swaths of land from the governments of both nations (Iraq was particularly a fucking pussy at the time), the Kurds stood strong, and with their under-trained and poorly-equipped militias, they were able to hold back a whole lot of ISIS advances. Once the Coalition got involved, the Kurds took back huge swaths of land, even land that they lost to Suddam Hussein in the 1980s when he committed mass genocide on the Kurds. After ISIS was pummelled into submission in 2018, Kurdistan was recognized as a country by the United Nations, and the United States under the Sanders Administration. Soon after the country gained its independence, it flourished economically, no longer having to depend on the Iraqi Government for its economy, now able to establish economic ties with so many other countries. However, now that the country saw its power, the leftist PUK party took over the majority of the parliament, and swift changes were made to the country. Kurdistan, to this day, remains as one of the most progressive nations in the Middle East, leading the charge in gender equality, racial equality and worker's rights... though it still has to work on the whole gay rights thing. Now that it is a sovereign nation, the eyes of the world remain on it, and Turkey is cocking its gun...

UNITED STATES

The United States saw a great wave of change ever since 2016. With the election being a major clusterfuck, people wanted change, and were tired of being pushed around by both the government and the companies that paid them slave wages and bought out the said government. After overcoming voter suppression, media manipulation and internet trolls, the Bernie Sanders movement prevailed, and after Sanders was elected into office in 2016, the movement continued, and inspired change all around the world. Companies lost their choking grip on the people, and no longer were they able to buy out the government. Alternative fuels and earth conservation efforts were already underway, and the United States saw massive reform. However, as a result, it became somewhat of a nanny state, and with corporate puppets out, government puppets were in, and surveillance became a much bigger thing in the states. By 2026, everyone in the United States was relying on technology someway or another, but thank god the Hipster movement allowed drops in obesity.

Technology

Technology has progressed significantly in the 10 years that came after the first spark of political change. 3D printing became extremely popular, making huge strides in modern medicine, as well as that of building weapons, armor, vehicles, tools and countless of other goods. Holographic computers are in its infancy, but widespread use is to be projected. Virtual Reality machines are very pervasive among those in the west, and while many use much smaller and much more lighter sets of HTC Vive headsets nowadays, people still watch their television and do other things on very flat LCD screens. Nowadays, a whole lot of phones and computers are done on flat and safe pieces of transparent plastic (glass too dangerous), that plastic housing the holographic tech that has yet come to project into thin air.

Modern medicine, as a result of 3D Printing and improved medicinal discoveries, has increased the average human lifespan to about 90 years of age, and has made medicine affordable to that of even the unfortunate of populations. Nanotechnology has enabled faster health regeneration, and 3D printing has made organ transplants much easier and much safer. And with the advent of robotic technology as well, handicapped persons are blessed with cybernetics to help them walk again. Wrist-bound computers are used among the military, nicknamed "Swiss Army Knifes", as these wrist-bound computers often come equipped with blades, launchers, lasers and flashlights to aide the user in combat.

COMMON DEVICES

Cell phones have become so commonplace in society, landline phones are no longer in use, aside from businesses, organizations and large buildings. Console games are now a more family-oriented product, as PC gaming has slowly taken over the world in the past 10 years. Virtual reality is also commonplace, used in conjunction with PCs, with some owners having entire rooms dedicated to playing in virtual reality. Viruix Omni treadmills are also becoming a thing, with some new technology that allows poeple to game virtually with their whole bodies without having to move from their spot. Some filmmakers have made Virtual Reality movies as well, though they haven't taken off so well. PCs now have insane processing power, and are much smaller now, and are able to render 3D working environments for more advanced users. Like with Virtual Reality, headsets that enable the user to see projected images ahead of them (Google Glass, Microsoft Hololens) are being used for both homes and businesses for many entertaining and useful purposes. 3D printers are also somewhat commonplace in homes now, as they manufacture parts, tools and small objects with ease.

MEDICINE

With the advent of 3D printing, research has allowed 3D printers to create new parts for the human body, and allow people to use these parts to heal themselves. While making human clones are still illegal, it's now possible with the best of 3D Printing technology. With the help of this technology, armed forces in most Western countries were able to upgrade their own bodies (tougher bones, tougher skin, etc.) to help them perform their duties. However, most developing nations are still trying this out, but they are successfully implementing it for basic medical needs. With recent changes in Big Pharma under the Sanders administration and the Warren Administration, medicine is now safe to use, and is easily affordable for most people. Cancer treatment has gotten better with the advent of laser technology, and some cancers have already found cures once the grip of Big Pharma was loosened from the government.

ENERGY

Alternative energies have been making huge strides all across the globe. Geothermal plants in South America, solar plants in Africa, Wind and Solar plants in Europe and Middle East, and a combination of all three in North America and Asia. Most vehicles are using a much more efficient combustion fuel that doesn't emit as much carbon, as the transition to electric motors are still underway. Homes are using more electricity than gas, as the efficiency of alternative energy sources has significantly increased, with lots of output that powers entire cities almost threefold. It's not too hard to find windmills around the world anymore!

WARFARE

Wars nowadays are still being fought with air power, drones and special forces units on the ground, as standing armies are only being used to occupy territory or to show off in parades. However, with the advent of robotic technology, drones and mechs are becoming more popular amongst most industrialized nations, though the riflemen and tanks military type are still seen in use all across the third world, as they still fight the old fashioned way. Most modern soldiers wear complicated uniforms, with lots of armor, electronic gear and such, though some militaries still keep the traditional armor+helmet combination with a few accessories here and there. Most modern soldiers are armed with some special 3D-printed armor that blocks most rifle shots and shrapnel, a ballistic helmet, a pair of HUD goggles, standard mask+uniform for environment, an armbound computer and a tactical gauntlet (with a light, grenade launcher and a knife), and some other protective stuff. As well as their weapons, of course. Though due to how most wars are fought with robots and drones now, all of that tech is only used to demonstrate power rather than use it.

Rules

0. Listen to GM - I know this is obvious but my word is law. However, please do not hesitate to PM me for absolutely anything, as I am lonely sometimes and I do not want to be a dick. xD

1. Have Common Sense - Rules are same as that on the site. However, excessive cursing is allowed in my book as long as it is IC dialogue. However, please follow all site rules if you don't want to get in trouble.

2. Have Respect - I will not tolerate any rudeness, drama or anything else along those lines OOC. IC drama/disrespect/rudness is cool, especially if you guys work it out OOC amicably. OOCly, please take all of that drama to the PMs instead and work it out. I will have none of it. Also, if you do have a problem with me, as I said above, please talk to me about it, and I will try my best to get it all sorted out, okay?

3. Have Decency - Please keep all interactions T for Teen, PG-13 or whatever it is in other countries. While I am fine with mature interaction, this site isn't, so I don't want to get banned. Please keep all of the excessive swearing in IC dialogue, and keep all sexual contact to just kissing. Use a timelapse of some sort to skip past mature scenes, and if you guys want to play it out, please play it out via PMs. Also please refrain from using offensive/derogatory terms OOCly as well.

4. Have Verbosity - Please, for the love of GOD, post with at least three paragraphs of non-dialogue/action! Details, descriptions, all of that is absolutely appreciated, we really want to know what your character is thinking, feeling, doing, all of that! The more details you can put in a post, the better. However, do not bloat out posts with actions from other characters, just react to them, and put in what is needed for us to get a good idea of what's going on with your character and what's inside his/her head. This is a High-Casual RP, so I suggest you bring your A-Game! :D Also collab posts made in between players are totally allowed and encouraged.

5. Have Good Attendance - While I don't want you to check in every single day of the week, that would be appreciated though. Please post at least twice or three times a week. The more frequent, the better. That way we don't have to wait for posts from other characters. I'm a very frequent poster so you don't have to worry about me. However, if you're going to be away from the site for a bit, please let us know ahead of time in the OOC and we'll skip, and let you pick up once you get back. If the RP stagnates, I'll either suggest a timelapse or let people post flashbacks to give their character(s) some more backstory.

6. Have Good Character(s) - Good characters are a MUST, and diversity is ENCOURAGED. Please take your time, and please put a whole lot of love into your characters, so that way I have a good idea of who's who, and what kind of people they are. However, the characters NEED TO BE APPROVED BEFORE THEY ARE POSTED UNDER THE "CHARACTERS" TAB. Please mention me so I can approve your character. Lower-tiered characters (like that with powers that are not that powerful yet but are powerful later on) is EXTREMELY ENCOURAGED, but not required. There are also those playable races:

* = You have to have a very damn good reason why you're playing them, and a complete history, backstory, details and all of that are a MUST.

Please do NOT make god-mode sues or any other super-powerful character that can make the combat part of these RPs extremely easy. I want to give them challenges and struggles. Cakewalks are boring and frustrating. Again, put lots of detail and lots of love into your character sheets, otherwise they won't be accepted. Below are the powers that are banned from use in the RP.

BANNED POWERS

1. Shit people are already doing, it would make the RP a little less fun. Variety is the spice of life <3
2. Anything that make any conflict a cakewalk for the character. They can become more powerful to the point where it will be a cakewalk for them, but don't make them start off too powerful. This can be overridden with behavior (like the person is a pacifist and will show restraint to not kill his enemies... a bad example but an example nonetheless). Depends.
3. Any power that will destroy planets/universe/moons/cities/whatever.
4. Any power that will destroy the RP itself, whether it would halt the RP or just make the RP no longer fun.
5. I don't know, just whatever I see that could cause a whole lot of problems. I'm GM, and my word is LAWWWWWW!!!

Please mention me whenever you put up your character sheet. When this RP is labelled "FULL", I will NOT accept any characters under any circumstances. However, is there's a shortage of characters, I will allow people to join in progress, but you would have to talk with me about that first so the process would be seamless. Edwina has her ears pierced, though with her long red hair, it's very rare that anyone could take a glimpse at her piercings. On her left knee, she has a birthmark that she insists look like cat ears, but no one else ever believes her about it. She has a small scar on her stomach, from when she had troubles with her appendix when she was younger. Otherwise, beyond freckles concealed by her makeup, Edwina is fairly normal.

In general, her clothing looks like this. She dresses a bit like a hipster, with cargo/denim style jackets over t-shirts from shows and rock concerts, large chunky headphones, and combat boots. She wears a pair of earrings that her mother gave her when she was young as well, though again, with her hair, no one can ever really glimpse at them. She likes to be comfortable -- but at the same time, she enjoys looking amazing. She wouldn't be out of place seen with a flannel shirt on top of the outfit instead of her jacket.

| Limitations |
On the basic level, manipulating light doesn't sound like an incredibly impressive thing. However, she does have the limitation of being unable to change the speed that light travels at -- light is always going to be going at roughly 3 x 10^8 meters per second. And since she isn't able to mess around with space-time, Edwina isn't able to do things such as speed herself up to the speed of light by changing the properties of light around her, for example.

Edwina comes off as pretty bold, but not reckless. She doesn't throw herself into the line of fire for no reason. While she will take the fall for her friends, she won't do so for a random stranger. Weighing the odds, Edwina would most likely choose to save herself, as long as she doesn't know the other person. She holds grudges and never forgets a transgression, to the point that anyone who crosses her will never be let back in again.

Willing to be herself, Edwina can come off as quirky. However, her confidence and kindness for other people cause it to be endearing, with most people treating her affectionately. She's almost the "girl next door" type, only she holds fast to her ideals, and won't let anyone push her around. Her strength is in her ability to remain herself and stay true to her ideals, but also to her friends. Loyal to a fault, Edwina holds herself to a high standard of accountability for friends and family. Hurt someone she loves, and she will make you regret it.

She also fancies that she's incredibly funny -- and most of the time, her highest class of humor comes from really bad puns. She isn't into guttural and mature humor. Mother - Georgie Stynes-Fairfax. A 49 year old blonde woman, she works as a school principal. Harsh and with a no nonsense policy, she always was rather strict with her daughters.
Father - John Fairfax. A 46 year old man who works in the shipping industry, John oversees product shipment for a paper company. As exciting as this may sound, he is the typical weary dad who can pass up no excuse to tell a dad joke or two.
Sister - Eleanora, currently 15 years old. She hasn't shown any sign of powers, and their parents are rather glad. Having one daughter able to turn off all the lights in the house during a teenage moment was a complete handful. Eleanora is a fairly feisty girl like her sister, currently obsessed with robotics.

Edwina was born in Fall River, Massachusetts to a young couple with a rocky marriage. Her parents had gotten together in college, both of them ill suited for one another, neither able to admit it. They both craved the perfect American family. When she was six years old, her parents took Edwina to see Lizzie Borden's house, just a few blocks away from their home. Spending the night in the famed house, her parents woke up to Edwina screaming that the monsters were coming to get her. There was, of course, nothing there.

No one quite knows what happened that night. Edwina insisted the next morning that a monster had attacked her, and her parents didn't believe her until Edwina screamed, and all of the lights went out. The next few weeks, more and more strange things happened. Reflections would appear where they shouldn't. Vague images of things in other rooms would appear, almost dancing, right before their eyes. The lights in the house would all go dark, without any cause for it.

By the time she was seven, her parents finally admitted to themselves that something had indeed happened to Edwina. While they thought it was a genetic thing, that perhaps Edwina had some sort of odd DNA mutation, they always had a lingering suspicion that something indeed did happen to her in the supposedly haunted home. Fearing that they would be socially ostracized if anyone knew, they kept it quiet. They homeschooled Edwina until she was able to understand and process her powers -- or at least, keep it hidden. She entered public school just in time for high school, and that year, the school district had the lighting examined due to issues.

After high school, Edwina went to the University of Washington for college. Studying physics, she specialized in the physics of light (optics, in particular). Understanding how her power worked, Edwina ended up getting a position at the university doing research. No one knew how she was able to get such fabulous results and data, with the light behaving properly in order to be able to analyze whatever variable they were looking into.

However, Edwina feels an obligation to help people with her power. Seeing the massive changes to the world over the course of her (admittedly brief) life, she wants to be able to contribute and give back. It would also allow her to be able to use her powers freely, rather than hiding them in shame. She'd accept the call in a heartbeat.

Character ideas

PSION-X: Professor X crossed with Iron Man. Essentially a super-intelligent telepath who has constructed a suit of hi-tech powered armor. Apart from the typical things you would expect from power armor (flight, enhanced strength, what have you), its weapons draw on his telepathic power to attack his enemies' minds.

FENRIR: A vampire werewolf. Yes, you read that correctly. The hated offspring of a vampire noble and a werewolf slave, Fenrir is a forlorn creature trying to survive in a world that hates him twice as any other monster. To this end, he has all of the powers of both a vampire and a werewolf, but also all of their weaknesses.

GALAXION: Inspired by several tokusatsu heroes and styles, Galaxion draws on alien DNA passed down by a distant ancestor to transform into a shining hero. He would essentially be able to henshin into various forms of successively increasing power (think kinda like Digivolving), culminating in something kind of like a kaiju (the true form of his alien ancestor).

Nyt stands at a firm 5’8” tall, conflicting her peers when they catch her out and about with her adoptive “Viking” family, all of which clearly tower over this strange petite gem with green eyes who prefers to keep her dark hair short year-round. Her ears are twice-pierced at the lobes with simple stainless steel earrings and her right ear has an industrial barbell with a decorative crescent moon in the middle and a single diamond-studded star at both ends. She has two faint birth marks under her cheekbones in the shape of a jagged line and scars on her knees from playing rough with the neighborhood kids after her brothers taught her some Jiujitsu moves one summer in their youth. At the age of 20, she decided to get a minimalistic drawing of the Solar system on the back of her neck, which was well-received by her heavily tattooed brothers.

Nyt prefers to dress herself simplistically, never associating herself with interesting prints but instead opting to burn people’s retinas with her choice of colours for her beloved dresses and rompers that she so covets. She’s an avid collector of flowy cardigans and has a plethora of stockings at her disposal when the season warrants the occasion. She’s not terribly interested in high heels, but every now and then she’ll buy a stiletto or two when she’s feeling insecure. She claims she’s inspired by the attire of the Star Wars universe, but really, if it’s not covered in logos and fits, she’ll wear anything that isn’t at the bottom of her hamper. It’s rare to catch her in a pair of pants, mostly because she prefers to entertain herself as she whirls around in a pretty dress.

| Abilities |
Nyt is incredibly sensitive to a certain wave, most notably sound waves that are either created through the air or water. She’s able to manipulate them in a way where she can harvest it and save it for later, such as listening to a song she doesn’t know the name to but desires to hear, or even when she’s tired of hearing her older brother, Alistair, talk about science and she’s able to deafen him with the sound of a loud thunderbolt by opening her mouth. Being sensitive to electromagnetic radiation, she’s also able to catch radio waves without the need of a radio transmitter. Her favourite pastime is hiking to the highest point and listening to the meteors whiz by Earth. She never has a moments rest from sound but she prefers it that way, quietly remarking that she never feels alone.

She isn’t able to harvest just any kind of waves, such as light or water waves. She’s also not able to control her power for a long time, although her second eldest brother, Skylar, insists that if she practices controlling her powers more often, she wouldn’t feel as drained.

With her at all times: her SmartPhone, a wristwatch with stars in place of numbers and the moon as the watch face, and a silver ring with the Solar system represented by colorful gems on her right ring finger. She always brings with her Crichton strapped to her thigh, a small dagger studded with diamond stars around the top of the leather hilt. She also constantly carries along a small tablet she created herself with the Raspberry Pi system, a hand sized screen capable of running like her personal home computer.

An advocate for justice, Nyt finds it hard to let go of something that remains unsolved, (a perfectionist tendency on her part). She’s rather quiet but once she warms up to someone, it’s all jokes galore, thanks to her brothers being quick-witted all her life and in turn, making her a comedic genius. She would do anything for her family and close friends, but draws the line when it conflicts with her morals. At times, she seems uneasy and is constantly scanning the skies day or night, looking for the alien in a white spacecraft that visited her when she was 13. Ever since then, she became a believer of all odd things and dove into her studies for aerospace engineering, with her dream of becoming an astronautical engineer.
Nyt is decidedly a “Man’s Woman”, someone who gets along with the opposite gender platonically, and hardly has any female friends, mostly owing it to her reclusive nature. On her days off, you can catch her surfing the web/Netflix all night while napping throughout the day. She never refuses food, stating that in her household with eight brothers, she practically had to fight to keep her weight at a healthy number. She’s always alert to her surroundings and in turn, is kind to (most) strangers who approach her because she saw them coming a mile away. When she feels like she’s in danger, she’s been known to use her powers in order to fend off any attackers and becomes discouraged when her powers go awry, (i.e., hurting someone more than she intended to).

- Unable to look someone in the eye when she’s lying, (she’ll also start laughing when she’s trying to prank someone.)
- Randomly she’ll look up at the sky and point something out, such as a funny shaped cloud, a luminous star, or even meteorites passing over Earth thanks to her gift.
- She tends to “speak” with her hands frequently, (her adoptive mother commented that if she’s going to gesture, she might as well take up sign language as well.)

- She enjoys spending time by herself, especially on her days off from work and all she wants to do is watch Netflix until her eyes bleed. However, most of the time she thoroughly loves working with electronics and using her telescope to survey the skies.
- She takes a road trip every month, ranging anywhere from a couple of days to one week, going to wherever her heart desires with her blue 2013 Honda Civic Coupe and a lucky dog from her parent’s “Foster Farms” ranch they own in Oregon.
- Singing is her all-time favourite thing to do and she does so with gusto, whether she’s driving, cooking, or especially showering. Her brothers insist she’s using her powers, but she truly does possess a harmonious voice after years of practice.

Father: Gunnar Årud, aged 67, is a 6’4” tall greying red-headed man with a full-set beard who worked closely with spacecrafts in his youth until retirement. He owns “Årud Ranch” near Corvallis, Oregon with his wife, which is a foster farm for mostly canines but they’ve been known to take in stray cats as well.
Mother: Astrid Årud, aged 64, is a 5’11” tall blonde haired woman who spent her own youth traveling abroad and journaling her adventures for her native country of Sweden. Once she settled down with Gunnar, they realized they both enjoyed all life as they expanded their family, adopted Nyt, and took in stray dogs in their golden years.
Eldest Brother: Alistair Årud, aged 31, is a 6’5” tall red-headed man who took after his father and later realized he wanted to be amongst the stars. Due to height limitations with their country’s astronaut requirements, his father and him got creative and decided to make their own spacecrafts, using Nyt’s as the model and inspiration to fuel their dream. He lives on the Årud Ranch property in his own homestead.
2nd Eldest Brother: Skylar Årud, aged 30, is a 6’3” tall red-headed man who prefers to be in the Earth’s atmosphere as an Air Force pilot. Although he doesn’t fear the “unknown” as he refers to all “odd things” in his life, he has no desire to leave the planet unlike most of his siblings. He resides in Eugene, Oregon with his wife and two children.
3rd: Eldest Brother: Ryan Årud, aged 28, is a 6’0” tall blonde haired man with a total “Macho Male” complex, being amongst one of the shortest males in the family. He joined the Army straight after high school and continues with his military career. He and his wife reside in Salem, Oregon, with their two sons.
4th Eldest Brother: Jason Årud, aged 27, is a 6’2” tall blonde haired man who happens to work for the same company his father use to work for in Texas as a Guidance Officer at the Johnson Space Center. He resides in the outskirts of Houston with his wife and two children.
5th Eldest Brother: Greg Årud, deceased at age 25 due to a drunk driver. He is still remembered fondly as a 6’4” ginger giant and prior to his passing, he requested his ashes be put onboard any outgoing spacecraft. His father, brother Alistair, and sister Nyt took it upon themselves to make sure he gets his final request.
6th Eldest Brother: Jesse Årud, aged 24, is a blonde haired, 5’11” tall auto mechanic who enjoys his free time surfing along the coast of Oregon. He lives on the Årud Ranch in his own homestead with his daughter, Rey Astrid Årud.
7th Eldest Brother: Xavier Årud, aged 23, is a 6’1” tall red-headed man who rivals Nyt in almost every way: he studied for aeronautical engineering, he leases a new Honda Civic every few years, and for his hobby, he enjoys “Ghost Hunting” to spite his sister. Although it is believed that they hate each other by their own family, he actually looks up to his younger adopted sister and cites her as a source for his love of all things space.
Youngest Brother: Alphonse Årud, aged 19, is a growing 5’7” tall blonde haired high school graduate who remains unsure about his future: all of his eldest brothers excelled in their studies and careers while he spends his days waking up midmorning at the Årud Ranch, caring for the dogs. He and Nyt seem to be the closest siblings, since she stood up for him whenever his older brothers teased him, and Alphonse in return helps Nyt train to control her powers, even though he has no gift of his own, (other than being a pot farmer with exceptional medicinal plants capable of curing nausea and headaches instantly).

Biological Family
Father: Komen Firefly, age unknown; the only thing Nyt seems to remember is warmth and love when she was in the spacecraft when she landed on Earth. An alien mentioned that he was a talented “Wavetraveler”.
Mother: Via Firefly, age unknown; the alien mentioned that she was a “special Dreamwatcher capable of premonitions”.
Sister: Din Firefly, aged three years older than Nyt; she is the alien that visited Nyt when she was 13 and told her not to fear her powers. She’s yet to visit again, but Nyt remembers the girl looked exactly like her with longer hair and more birth marks on her cheeks. The two share the same trait of gesturing with their hands and their love for the Universe.

Planet Austea of the S’Onfyr System in the Kryton Galaxy; Via gives birth to her twin daughters, Din and Nyt Firefly, while her husband Komen looks on his new family with love and tears. “Are you sure it’s absolutely necessary?” he fearfully asked the odd pair: it was an older woman in the hooded cape and green eyes, towering over her counterpart at 5’7” tall versus the petite 4’11” tall girl with raven locks. However, it wasn’t the same shade of green of their irises that astonished him, nor the fact that it was the same like his wife’s or his children’s eyes: it was the fact that they were utterly apologetic and the utmost sincere. “I’m so sorry. It has to be like this. I wish I could tell you otherwise, but we’ve traveled different parallel universes until there was a humane solution. This was the safest for everyone.”
“All we want is to make our home here with our girls in Era. We can run away anywhere here – we’ll be the quietest family you’ve never heard of!” Via weeped, her face soaked in tears and sweat. She hugged her daughters close, her heart pounding. “They’re just infants! How can they be as powerful as you claim?”
“Because,” started the hooded woman who began to tug at it until it fell on her shoulders. Her hair was like a beautiful bloodbath of silky strands and it shined with the light of the moon. Via instantly recognized her. “I am Din Firefly. It took us years to find a way to stop the evil king from beginning his reign and now, it’s too late. In a parallel universe, he has Nyt in his hands right now ready to use her powers, and the only thing that could work in sending your daughters away from here so they don’t fall into his hands again. The result is… this Din right here.” The small girl with the dark hair offered the new parents a smile.
“I’m the secret weapon against him.”
August 5th of 2004
“Uh, Houston? We have a problem.”
Gunnar sighed and pulled away from his solitaire game to look up at the monitors. As soon as his eyes laid on the object, his heart began to pound out of his chest. “Oh, shit! Dear God, what is that?”
“No idea, Houston. It looks like it’s going to land, though.”
The egg-shaped white pod was definitely not their design and its movements were much too controlled for it to be a meteorite of undistinguishable material. “Let it land. It seems to know what it’s doing.” He began gathering up his stacks of folders and books, and shoveled them into his briefcase. “Time to investigate.”
“Copy.”
Aftermath
Gunnar stood at the top of the crater, looking down at the amazing discovery below him as he lit up a cigarette. Everything around him was a blur, with the rain drizzling lightly and the sounds of the woods soothing his nerves. He focused solely on the object and flicked the cigarette absentmindedly behind him when he was through with it. “I’m going down,” he called out, mostly to himself as his group became preoccupied with detailing what proceeded next. He carefully stepped sideways down the crater, nearly tripping over himself with excitement as he reached the pod. Upclose, it was still egg-shaped but now it was a dusty white pod with a black window. He reached out and gingerly dusted the window, hoping to peer inside. However, it was pitch black and his heart sank as he realized he didn’t know how it opened.
It seemed to hum a beautiful melody that did not make earthly sounds and he tried his best to imitate it. Suddenly, a cry rang out from the pod and Gunnar threw himself back, startled. “It sounds like a baby!” he cried out to his colleagues, who now came bounding down the top of the crater. The window slowly receded back into the ship, revealing a terrified baby with stunning green eyes and bright red marks under her cheeks in the shape of a jagged line.
“Please eject the infant, Nyt,” the spacecraft advised. It repeated itself until Gunnar tentatively picked up the humming, sniveling baby.

Nyt is unaware about events that led her to Earth; she only knows about her twin sister named Din, and that their family surname is Firefly. Din is careful not to intrude on her Earthbound sister's life, considering she's still fighting the evil king that separated them in the first place. Due to her traveling through space her entire life, Din is an entire three years older than her twin.

Powerset is Toonforce, is that alright? If you want something less complex, I could do regeneration instead, though it has far less weaknesses. lol
