Duel Disk: Pitch black, circular body with a flat screen. Disk materializes at the same side as the on button and takes on a jagged appearance with a white border. Its strap is dual purpose, allowing it to easily click on and off his duel runner.

Personality: Ryunosuke is one who would be categorized as acting far more somber than what his appearance would suggest, at least should one see his face. He is fierce and tends to be rash, rushing into duels and immediately making a strong monster if only to intimidate his opponent, before revealing the true ace of his deck.

History: It is said that Ryunosuke had no past. He had no family and he had no official documents. He had simply appeared at the footsteps of Saotome Academy on his first year with a duel runner. He lives in a haunted room in the Utopia dorm where spirits constantly torment him. These were rumors spread among incoming freshmen, of course. Any fourth year who was with Ryunosuke when they started school could answer that he had joined, filled in his paperwork, and had done his own procedures as normal. Anybody entering his room could say that it's actually quite clean and tidy, if the black decorations are a little tacky.

In his first year, Ryunosuke was not very well known. He was nowhere near the best, not was he anywhere near the worst. At the time, though he was in the Utopia House, he could not Xyz summon. His strategy was simple: summon his vampire monsters to slowly whittle down his opponent's deck. It was not particularly his style, nor was it at all very efficient, but he made it work.

Ryunosuke's first claim for fame was in his second year in a duel against one of the school's top seniors at the time. In his time, he was known as the Phantom Duelist. It was a close match, but the ex-Phantom Duelist had eventually won. After this, the Phantom Duelist had taken Ryunosuke under his wing. After a year's worth of training under the Phantom Duelist, Ryunosuke had himself become the new Phantom Duelist. He had built his own duel runner with the help of the old Phantom and reconstructed his deck. The old Phantom gave Ryunosuke his own cards: The Phantom Knights. With them, along with his new vampire xyz monsters, Ryunosuke had risen to the top of the school.

In his third year, Ryunosuke adopted the mantle of Phantom Duelist. He protected his title, though knowing his reign would be short, quickly turned to find a replacement. However, as the year had gone on, he turned jaded, feeling the school was too full of preps. Though, with the new influx of students in the fourth year, he had high hopes that things would change.

Duel Disk: Ayami's Duel Disk is shaped a bit like the section of a snowflake, with a design similar to this one. It is a light blue bordering on white, and reflects light similarly (and thus shines when in use).

Personality: Ayami is a bit of a cold person and often comes off as somewhat emotionless at times, causing people to tend to not wanting to interact with her more often than not. As a result, she spends much of her time reading books and stories or watching duel replays online, which only furthers her image as a 'person who acts as if she is higher than everyone else'. That's not really the case, though; while she does have money and does seem like she is disinterested in most things, it does not affect her opinion of people. As a result, Ayami does not hold back against any challengers, for that would not only be disrespectful, but also quite irritating upon herself.

History: The child of an investment banker and a writer, Ayami's life was spent in relative solitude and luxury. She was always surrounded by books and stories that her facter (the latter) would always read to her, planting a deep-seated respect for literature that would keep fast into her adolesence. While her family did have enough of an income to purchase whatever they decided on (within reason), Ayami never desired anything. While her mother was perfectly okay with that facet of Ayami's personality, her father was thoroughly confounded and sought to figure out what his daughter wanted (because it was admittedly difficult to obtain gifts with more variety than 'book' and 'foreign book'). His problems came to a close when he saw Ayami holding a Yu-Gi-Oh card one day and seemed to be looking at it with some degree of intrigue. Taking this as an opportunity, Ayami's father quickly got to work buying cards to assemble his daughter a deck that would work well with the card she seemed to be so curious about.
Years came and went, and Ayami continued to refine that deck ever so slowly before her father suggested she try enrolling in the Saotome Duel Institute, which itself was a sugegstion of one of his old friends. With no real reason to decline, Ayami accepted the offer and has been studying there ever since.

Wish: To find life more 'exciting' than it is now.

Appearance

Duel Disk RUNNER: Fyodor's duel runner is a sleek, black motorcycle with no rims inside the wheels. When it is running it gives off a faint orange neon glow in the wheels and inside the wheels. His duel runner has an attachable component for his duel disk which Konstantinovich can remove and use separately if he so chooses. The duel disk is black and has a dark orange blade which is shaped like a scythe.

Personality: Konstantinovich is a rather miserable man. He is a bitter curmudgeon and lone wolf. While he claims to hate humanity alongside constantly wishing death among them, he does in fact yearn for people to be near him. This is solely because he wants people to be around to hear his dark and brooding monologues that he is fond of. The only things he truly loves are reveling in the mayhem of darkness and motorcycles.

History: Fyodor Leo Konstantinovich was a 'little miracle' to his family, namely because this was the first time his father was able to properly spawn a child with his wife. The boy who would become The Ghoulish Rider, Traveler of the Highway of Hell, lived in a cold, but not terribly dreary, cozy little town. From an early age Fyodor had a troubling temperament that worried those around him. He was always off on tangents of doom and despair and claiming he was sent by the Devil to make sure the world of man would be cloaked in his vision. In order to help cure this boy's melancholy his father made him work in his garage. For a brief period of time, it seemed that Fyodor was getting better as the boy did like getting to help in the workshop.

This was not the case, as Fyodor was simply biding his time to create a Duel Runner. At the stroke of midnight he rode from his home and across the bleak and snowy landscape to find other settlements of population to torment. He caused mayhem for quite sometime until he got involved in a crash accident, in which police were finally able to apprehend him. While it seemed likely Fyodor was doomed to perish in prison for the rest of his days, a Japanese man showed up out of the blue and managed to get the boy off scot-free. Well not exactly scot-free, because in exchange for freedom from prison he was essentially told that he would go to the Saotome Duel Institute.

Wish: To dance with the devil in the pale moonlight, after ensuring the world was engulfed by darkness and sin.

Duel Disk: The classic

Personality: Fuubi is an asshat who uses unorthodox behaviors and tactics to try and disrupt his opponents. Psychological warfare, intimidation, ridiculous antics... He'll do whatever it takes to make an enemy lose their cool. Aside form that, he's a manic guy who loves energy drinks, hitting on girls, and having a good time.

History: Fuubi's parents were both wildly abusive, and beat him with a sack of ripe mandarins twice daily. Sometimes they forced him to miss classes, so that the teachers wouldn't see his full-body bruising. When he was 17, his grades were piss poor and he had reached the limit of his patience. He flipped out and punched his dad in the nuts, hit his mom with a folding chair, and then ran out into the streets, crying. He stole and hotwired a pizza delivery truck and drove all the way to duelist academy, seeking to change his life. He knew that the only way he could get over his childhood trauma was to do what he loved best; duel and annoy people.

Wish: To meet the famous Yugi, challenge him to a televised duel, and then make him rage.

Appearance

For transport, Aya likes to ride a small, one-seater vespa scooter bedecked with several lamps and mirrors, painted a nice shade of bottle green and white. What it lacks in speed it makes up for in brightness.

Duel Disk: A big, beaten up GX style duel academy disc, painted white with wood inlay. Surprisingly light on the arms, but since Aya's deck involves lots of playing around with the opponents cards she'll usually be the first to offer to take the things off and to play on a table the old-fashioned way.

Personality: Aya's just... not a fighter. She's kind of airheaded, very slow on the uptake, and already has somewhat of a reputation for being slow. There's no point in trying to sway her mind if she's set on something. She has a tendency to obsess over things, poking and prodding them with a stick until she's throughly satisfied, then drops them immediately to find the next big thing. Due to a lifetime of this kind of behavior, she's full of interesting trivia and factoids, not all of them entirely true, and is always eager to share what's on her mind to the nearest listener.

History: Aya was born to a warm, loving family, who promptly abandoned her at a doorstep and left her life, never to return. Her adoptive parents were decent enough folks, if a bit set in their ways. Aya went to school in a good neighbourhood, had a close-knit circle of friends who never made her feel too weird for being dark-skinned, and at a young, tender age of 11, was accepted into a private middle school for budding duelists. There, she took a large interest in history, pouring over the history of the game, famous duelists and duels.

During her studies, she couldn't help but notice a few things. How the outcomes of duels seemed to be at odds with how the game was played, or cards that seemed to be completely made up or misremembed, like they were describing something that didn't happen. Cards with effects that seemed to be completely wrong in games that surely must have happened, otherwise they wouldn't be written down in the history books, would they?

She ended up collecting a few of these anomalous cards. An Exodius there, a Metaion here, nothing too grand or rare, a few of these Numbers monsters that seemed so powerful and yet were never quite written down in recorded history. It became a hobby of hers, collecting odds and ends like Orichalcos Shunros or the odd Blue-eyes Alternative White Dragon, a common as muck card that seemed to only work with a card so rare that only three copies existed, all in private hands. Seemed so strange, in her eyes, how something so basic and fundamental as history could be so twisted and peculiar.

She graduated with flying colours, and was put on the shortlist to attend Saotome. Even despite the commute, and after a long and frank discussion with her parents, she made the choice and decided to come up to the foothills for a few years. It would be good for her.

Yuta is a thin boy who stands at 1m78, always sporting a goofy smile. His hair is for the most part black and frantically spikes to all sides, even upwards. He has two golden bangs, one each falling next to both sides of his face. Yuta has deep emerald eyes, a small and frail nose and thin lips. He usually wears the school uniform and black shoes to go with it, but has more casual wear in his wardrobe.

Duel Disk/Runner:
Yuta has a rectangular D-Pad which projects solid vision at a sharp angle, creating a Duel Disk that's pointed upwards and faces away from the opponent. It has two asymmetrical ends that point towards him, with the middle being parallel to the D-Pad.

Personality:
Yuta is a happy-go-lucky kind of guy who never really gets down about anything, ever. He's always smiling and being cheerful, but also incredibly naïve and impulsive. He's incredibly fun loving and takes every duel seriously, getting slightly annoyed when his opponent isn't giving it their all.

History:
Yuta lives with his grandmother, who's constantly trying to get him to act his age and be serious for a change. He's enlisted in the Saotome institute because he likes to, but he's not really looking to learn anything or focus on his studies at all. He's just there to be around as many duelists as he can and have a fun time.

Duel Disk: A bootleg Duel Coat-style setup, it consists of a groin-mounted Solid Vision projector and a small arm that holds the duel disk oriented horizontally, like a small waist-height table. It somewhat resembles a lower-tech version of Jakob's crotch-mounted cyberdisk from 5ds.

Personality: Marina possesses unshakable confidence and an ego approximately the size of Jupiter. She is self-satisfied and utterly convinced of her superiority on a level surpassed only by the likes of Kaiba himself, and considers most other humans to be lesser lifeforms. This would all be a lot more understandable if she wasn't a filthy hobo who smells like raw sewage, but as it is she just comes off as delusional. That being said, Marina is also a person who firmly believes that anything truly worth doing should be done with one's own two hands, and her work ethic is genuinely impressive.

History: Marina hails from the Ukraine, a hotly-contested radioactive hellhole of a country plagued by tentacle-faced subhumans and physics-disrupting anomalies, as everyone knows. What's less well known is that almost all conflicts in Ukraine are decided by Duel Monsters, as bullets and first-aid supplies must be reserved for purging the terrifying mutants that lurk in the marshes and forests of the region. Marina herself was the daughter of local seamstress and town bicycle Nadiya Kohut, an excellent duelist and shrewd negotiator who ensured they had a decent, if humble, life. As a kid, Marina and the other local children would spend Sunday mornings watching cheap, badly dubbed foreign cartoons, young Marina's favorite being an obscure magical girl series localized as Extremely Pretty Child Olga, which taught little girls that anyone could be a princess if they tried hard enough.

Long story short, Marina took this to heart a little too hard and somehow got it into her head that, as long as she acted like a princess, people would at some point start treating her like one. Eventually, people got tired of putting up with her bullshit and exiled her. After years of long, harsh trials, repeating deportaions, and many a duel, Marina ended up getting shipped to Saotome Duel Institute so nobody had to put up with her anymore. They wouldn't pay for room and board, though, so Marina sleeps in a dumpster behind the dorms, proud ruler of her cardboard kingdom.

Wish: To be absolute monarch of the world, or at the very least the Ukraine.

Personality:
Cooler is a usually a laid back guy during most of the time not dueling. Never taking everything serious, a very happy go lucky kind of individual. During competitive duel's he changes completely. He becomes a lot more serious and tries his best to find out his opponent's deck and beat them. Usually after a duel, he snaps out it. This makes him hesitant to duel for anything more than fun, thinking maybe his deck is the reason for his sudden change in attitude. He is extremely secretive about his past, none really knowing him outside or before he has been in the academy.

History:
Born to a Drunken gambling father and a mother who was almost never around. Cooler would usually be with his father, becoming fascinated with card games since a young child. He learned how to play all types of games, his favorite card game being Duel monsters. His father also played, usually when intoxicated, betting his money away.

At the age of sixteen, his Father began to have a winning streak with a deck that appeared out of nowhere. Becoming somewhat known for being one of the best duelist in the 'Underground'. One day during school, Marion skipped his last class to sneak away and see his Father perform a duel. Hoping he could find out why how his Father won so much, as he never truly seen him in action. As he sneaked inside the 'Underground' he found his Father laying on the Floor. His Father was dead with no one else in sight and in his hand he held a Deck. He ran away and got help. As his Father was taken away in a stretcher, his Deck laid on the Floor. Cooler collected the cards that seemed to almost be calling him.

His Father supposedly died to a Heart attack, but Marion never believed this. Cooler felt it had something to do with his deck, maybe something in them would reveal the truth. He tried for a whole year looking for his Father's killer, eventually giving up the idea that his death had anything to do with Dueling or the Deck. He eventually had a tip that the last man his Father dueled worked for the Duel Academy. Cooler made his mission to 'infiltrate' the Academy, while acting as a student he is actually on the search for his Father's murderer.

Duel Disk: A dark brown body with a purple blade.

Personality: Carnel is normally seen as a chill and polite guy, perhaps best described as being a gentleman. Wherever he goes, he greets people with kind smiles and polite greetings. If disputes happen around him, he usually takes the time to try to defuse them and make everyone smile again. He may even make an occasional joke if the situation is appropriate.
Underneath, however, Carnel is a guy who is easily irritated. Rarely does he find someone he thinks he can trust, and dislikes a certain label that was often placed on him at home. While he maintains a calm demeanor, oftentimes there is a twitch that gives away that part of his nature, usually an eyebrow twitch or a sudden clench of his fist.

History: Carnel was born into a rich family, and given anything his parents could give him. Food, clothing, toys, you name it. He grew in such a fashion along with his older brother, Vincent. One day, a special gift was given to him: his very first Duel Monsters deck. Carnel was curious as to what it was at first, but as he learned more about Duel Monsters, he was ecstatic. As he grew, his love for Duel Monsters grew as well. His brother had taken Duel Monsters as a career and grew to be a famous Duelist.

Carnel wanted to be like his brother, and use his love for Duel Monsters for a career in the pro scene. Many saw this as Carnel wanting to catch up to his brother. As a result, they began to compare Carnel to his brother, and it was the same wherever he went. At first, Carnel didn't mind, but as time passed, Carnel began to notice this, and saw how few people recognized his own achievements. It was always "Vincent's brother" this and "Vincent's brother" that. Carnel couldn't stand it. Eventually, he managed to secure an application to Saotome Duel Institute, where he planned to carve his own path, hopefully without being compared to his brother again.

Wish: To be recognized as a Duelist, and not a person in the shadow of his brother.

Appearance

Matt is fairly tall with short pale yellow hair and a deeper shade of yellow for eyes. His frame is lithe, not overly skinny and certainly not bulky. His face leans on the side of handsome and tends to give him a calculating look whenever in thought, though more usually it has a smile on it.

Duel Disk: An Arc-V laser disk with neon green light

Personality: Matt is a suave character, likable, and quite intelligent. He's very social, going out of his way to include people and make friends. Matt's rather laid-back and it seems impossible to get him angry over anything, always ready to crack a joke. However his seeming inability to take anything serious can be vexing to certain people. Of course he's always ready to take a chance.

History: Matt was born to an average family. Not too rich not too poor, enough to give him a nice new present every now and then but not enough for everything you could want. However his parent's were perhaps too lenient as he was an only child and gave him more than was wise, leading to him being somewhat spoiled. This changed however when he was part of a car crash, his family was very lucky however and no one died. This changed his outlook and life and become overall a much more enjoyable person. He also developed a perchance for games of chance, becoming quite good at them as well. One thing led to another and Matt found himself attending a duel academy. It should be lots of fun!

History:
Rumi moved to japan with her parents to open up their own foreign bakery it gained popularity through Rumi and her parent's dedication but as time went on its few years of popularity dropped as variety bakery started to pop up in japan as well resulting in the bakery shutting down

Rumi now decided to attend an academy through recommendation from a close friend she made when she worked in the bakery herself and is now keeping up with him through written letters

Long poorly written history

Rumi and her parents moved from Europe to Japan to open up their own bakery to sell a variety of European sweets to the East as there were not many purely foreign shops in at the time they moved in, it was a rough beginning for the shop but after a few weeks her mother suggested she tried helping out at the shop whenever she could, attending the register, baking the goods herself and even standing outside the shop promoting the bakery itself.

As time went on Rumi gained interest in a card game called Duel Monsters through a regular she now calls a close friend. Her friend told her about a deck type that reminded him of the bakery's goods itself called Madolche and gifted her a deck he made himself though he admitted he didn't have enough cards to make it work perfectly.

In the more recent years Rumi's parents and the bakery started to lose their popularity to other more popular mainstream bakeries with a mix of both traditional European sweets and Japanese favorites, which in turn led to the shop closing down even though Rumi tried her best to keep the shop open as long as possible it couldn't be done and she had to accept the fact that the shop had to close but on the last day of the shop being open while having one last visit from her friend for whom she baked her own cookies for she found a mysterious card in one of the mixes she was making not remembering really having any cards on her when she was making them, after showing it to her friend he suggested she could probably get some clues by joining an academy with the promise of keeping contact through old fashioned letters

Wish: Restore her parents' shop its former glory.

Personality: Umi is strongest there is and she will make sure you know it. Cockey, arrogant, loud, obnoxious, short tempered. If she sees something she wants she'll do anything to get it.
History: Umi grew up in a poor family. Both her father and mother worked long hours for little pay in order to make ends meet. While attending grade school she often had to beg for unwanted commons from her friends or dig through trash to find cards to play with. Despite the power gap between her and friends she displayed great skill and amazing luck, often pulling herself out from the jaws of defeat. With her family's financial pressures hanging overhead she studied hard and always got good marks.

After she graduated from high school she earned a scholarship to Duel Academy due to her academic performance and not her dueling skills (she was an ok duelist in her school but didn't have the funds necessary for a pro level deck). Now at duel academy her goal is to go pro and become a breadwinner for her family. Until then she has picked up underground dueling, which has proven to be a lucrative though dangerous source of income.

Duel Disk: Overall layout of the more traditional model, but the design is a brown and its borders are detailed like rocks, the longer end has a dragon's head.

Personality:Just your typical Edgelord. Drake is an too-serious and brooding figure who's motivations are to get stronger and to beat anyone in his way. Rarely does he ever smile, and comradeship is valued little in his eyes. Sure he won't mind being in the presence of others but he is quick to get annoyed and prefers to do things by himself. Even when angry, his emotions are much more controlled and rather then simply yelling he simply gets a more abrasive tone.

History: While its true no one is born to be such a brooding figure, Drake's persona gradually shifted from a typical young toddler to an edgelord over the course of his early life. By the time he entered the preteen phase of 13 he was already your typical angsty kid filled with edge. That doesn't mean he dressed like a scene kid or was over the top in anyway, but rather his pessimism and rude behavior simply fostered from his own growing emotion. He doesn't have a tragic backstory, he grew up in a somewhat wealthy family in the U.S. without any family or school issues. No bullies, no abuse, just a typical kid that never grew out of that one phase. His passion for dueling came when in middle school when other kids introduced the game to him. While he grew satisfaction from quickly learning how to beat his acquaintances, abusing his families wealth to get better cards then the rest and enjoyed the bullying behavior of belittling the other kids that couldn't beat him, there was a more hidden interest to the game's lore. Every card has a story, a story that remains hidden. The more he dueled, the more he became fond of the dragon monster type and one card in particular, Tyrant Dragon, the strongest monster in his deck at that time.

Personality: Personable but predatory.

History: A trainee Iga ninja and duel disk technician from the Aichi prefecture out to complete her 100-man trial and be acknowledged by her clan. Since killing 100 people and getting away with it in modern Japan is quite difficult so modern shinobi have switched to duel monsters. As such Minoru is trained in the Iga clan's Ambush Duel style which hybridizes ninja techniques and action dueling. She has infiltrated Saotome Duel Institute to test her mettle against the students and complete her trial.

She also has a friendly rivalry with a Koga trainee named Fujita Shun.

Duel Disk: An incredibly frilly monstrosity that balances out its porcelain texture and the excessively long ribbons and cloth adorning it with little skulls sewn on and burn marks around the edges. It folds and unfolds around a visible metal joint, and every time it does, an ungodly creak sounds.
Personality: Extremely harsh, foul-mouthed and quick-tempered. Has a silver tongue dipped in poison and a textbook superiority complex. It's hard to look past these staggering flaws, but if someone masochistic enough did so, they'd find that she usually doesn't mean most of the things she says. She's very insecure, with an ongoing self-inflicted stress problem that she worries about constantly. She desperately craves human interaction, but truth be told, she doesn't make a good friend, so she gets it through dueling people, and loves every moment of it.
History: Only child of a rich and busy single father, spoiled rotten but never happy. More interesting, was her relationship with the first family maid/nanny. Every Saturday, she'd take young Elly with her to a local soup kitchen. Every Saturday, Elly would complain about being bought there. Every Saturday, Elly would sit on the side, playing a hand-held duel monsters simulator and give foul looks to everyone who came her way, only to be thanked by almost every single patron, every single Saturday, every time she came. This went on for years. One day, she learned the reason everyone thanked her. While, yes, her nanny did ask every single person to do so, it was because her father funded the Soup Kitchen, and was the only reason it managed to stay open.

When she learned this, young Elly became outraged. Her father had money to spend on complete and total strangers, but didn't care enough to get the latest duel monster expansion for his only family member that doesn't have Alzheimers? She confronted her father immediately, and likewise, he was immediately outraged.

Elly's nanny was fired that day, after her many consecutive years of employment. Mr. Ludenza didn't believe a Soup Kitchen was a safe place for his daughter to be while the nanny was busy working the counter.

Elly was happy with the change at first, but eventually decided she liked her first nanny better and complained to her father. Her father who can't say no to her but didn't want to back down tried to appease her by giving her all manners of gifts rather than just ones she asked for. She hated them. These gifts came to be a symbol of the disconnect between her and her father, and as you might imagine, she didn't treat them well.

Next came her middle-school goth phase. It's where she learned to sew. I'm going to skip that part.

As she grew as a person, she started going back to the Soup Kitchen, ditching her current caretakers and finding her old nanny there. Every single time, she would greet Elly with a smile and say that it was good to see her. Likewise, Elly found some old acquaintances, and as it so happened, Those old acquaintances had picked up the game that she, as a lonely little girl, would play by herself in the corner every Saturday.

This was the first time Elly got to play against someone that wasn't in some simulator online.

Elly asked her father for a fancy duel disk (which she immediately modified heavily) and started coming back more and more until her father took notice. When he did however, what he saw was the successful young duelist his daughter was becoming. Truly, seeing Elly happy was a rare sight. Cussing out the impoverished in a soup kitchen however, was unacceptable. He suggested that she enroll in Saotome Duel Academy and become a professional. Elly denied him, saying that she wanted to be a surgeon. After a long, drawn-out talk with her father, he convinced her that she could always just take online courses later to become a surgeon, but becoming a pro duelist while she was still young was much more practical.
Wish: Become perfect, such so that everyone will have to love her.

Duel Disk: Arc-V styled duel disk. Main body is dark orange with a blue screen and flame patterns on the pendulum zone.
Personality: Tekkan is a very snarky individual, always one to crack a joke whenever the opportunity presents itself. He has a very short temper, but he tries to keep it under control whenever he's around his friends, and is generally a very fun guy to hang around.
History: Tekkan was born the first and only son of two police officers who met each other during service and eventually settled down and started a family. However, his mother eventually fell ill and could no longer conceive. In due time, she passed away and Tekkan's father retired to look after his only son. The two would regularly go shopping; one of their favorite things to buy and play with were Yu-Gi-Oh! cards. They would buy packs of cards every weekend and have duels against each other, his father usually winning.

When he reached 17 years of age, Tekkan's dad signed him up for a dueling academy to further improve his dueling skills, since he himself had gotten to old to fully enjoy the game. The two promised to meet each other again some day, once the program ended.

Appearance:
Duel Disk: Though he never really did like them, he was required one and because of so, added with his father's status he was given a custom and advanced deck. The duel disk has a tradictional grip that allows him to have a gloved hand, custom fit, and on the inside of his wrist, the deck put in pointing upward, the first card facing away, the back covered. The deck allows him to press a button to add cards to his hand, which lines the inside of his arm. He can push them up out of the top and placed in a completely straight, curved up, and and thin silver colored disk part that has the areas for all the cards that can be placed at a blue hint.

Personality: Lua is a very nice person. He is always worried about other people and wants to help them be the best they can. He has a strange optimism for others and will tell them what they want to hear instead of what they need to hear first. That being said, he is a very clumsy person and he seemed to always be a little bit nervous. He easily becomes frustrated or confused. He is always really down on himself and never really believes he can accomplish anything. He tends to try to dodge or work around combat and forced or serious duels but isn't shy to a nice game or mandatory game. He is quick to accept people, especially as a friend and even quicker to forgive them. Because of so he is easily manipulated and used by others, only added to the easiness by him being a pushover and generally naive.

History: Lua was born a to a privileged family, as the runt of three. He was conceived in an affair and because of so his father always disliked him. His brothers picked on him because he was the youngest sibling. It was only his mother that treated him with true kindness. Eventually, the father of Lua made a deal with KaibaCorp. where they began to manufacture and distribute duel monsters related accessories. Because of this, for their birthdays, each kid was given a deck of cards. Lua had his deck taken, and all of the cards the others didn't want were given to him. They always played the game together, and he asked to join. He did, and he even won, and in anger, the other brothers beat him up. Seeing this as a chance to build his confidence, Lua's mother bought a purposefully terrible deck and began to play with him. Lua had a lot of fun and won often. Eventually, she began to strengthen her deck more and more, allowing him to experience loss and adapt to better play the game. It was when she pulled out a dark magician that he realized she had been adding good cards to his deck. Going all out, he miraculously won the match. They continued to play and he realized that he had a passion for the game. because of this, his mother managed to convince his father to let him go to duel academy, where he has been ever since.

Name: Sikao Yuryu
Sex: Male

Appearance: Yuryu's hair is medium black with a blue-streak in the shape of three lightning-bolts running through his fringe. His eyes are dichromatic, his right eye a darker shade of blue while his right eye is blue, slowly turning a foggy-grey at the bottom of his iris. This is something that developed in his early childhood while living with his half-brother. His skin is a light shade of olive, and he stands at 5'8" tall. He often wears a blue singlet over top a black, sleeveless coat.

Duel Disk: Yuryu's duel disk is very similar to the current times duel disk. Colored Black with white trim, the play field is a bright-blue, and the screen is a large circular window. The difference between Yuryu's duel disk, however, and the current is that on the surface next to the screen, an insignia of two dragons circling is embedded on the face of the duel disk. One of the dragons is shaded dark-red, while the other is a clear outline of Yuryu's "Lock Rage Dragon" card.

Personality: Yuryu takes a very serious tone to dueling, as well as towards any duelist who seeks to challenge him. Otherwise, he is quite laid back, however prefers to keep to himself, trapped in his own thoughts, rather than make conversation. He does not shy away from communicating with other duelists when the topic of becoming a better duelist arises, although he very much prefers people address him as Yuryu, as he was not raised to use his first name lightly. If annoyed or tested, he can become easily frustrated, snapping at a moment's notice at people who try to get on his bad side.

History: Raised with his father and stepmother, his late mother had left him and his father mere months after he was born, with no notice of why she left or where she went. As such, he and his half-brother lived together during their childhood. Unlike his younger brother, who was often kind and laid back, Yuryu had trouble befriending others and was easy to anger while he was little. This anger was tempered as he grew older, and although Yuryu and his brother were very different, they both had three things in common: They both loved to duel, they were both very prideful and the both HATED to lose.

One day, during his early teenage years, Yuryu had recieved a card from an unknown sender: Lock Rage Dragon. The moment he had touched this card, duel's began to play out very different, especially his brohter. He couldn't explain it, but all of a sudden his win rate shot through the ceiling. He was even offered the chance to go to The Saotome Duel Institute, a place where he could study and learn more about duel monsters. Jumping at the chance, Sikao Yuryu took the next boat off, excited to begin the next chapter of his duel monster's career.

Wish: To duel against his younger brother until the end of time.

Duel Disk: Taiyo's solid light duel disk blade functions on the front of the body instead of the side. He has a card holder to place his hand when making decisions. It's use was intended for someone with little mobility in their left hand, but as it was not being purchased the store owner wanted it gone. He was given this duel disk as his parents found it on sale. Despite having the possibility to purchase another, Taiyo has grown attached to his duel disk, as he cherishes any gifts his family has given him.

Personality: Taiyo is quiet, anxious and usually reserved. As a boy with no real friends to speak of other than his own brother, Taiyo has little experience in social interaction with people he isn’t close with. He isn’t the best with his words, and usually lets others do the talking for him. The best way to get to know him is through a game. He is more inclined to discussion and banter while thinking of his next best move. While dueling, especially, he almost becomes a different person, showing confidence, calmness and happiness. This is the true personality of Taiyo.

History: Taiyo Hoshimi was raised in a well-off family. He was the twin brother of a very gifted child. His brother Ichimaru was the perfect son, with great physical ability and charismatic charm. He also had far better grades than his brother, rising to the top of every class he participated in. A child prodigy, his family showered him in attention and gifts, hoping that they would be able to tailgate his glory. As such, Taiyo was shown little attention. His parents loved him, to be sure, but he was merely a below-mediocre boy. Everything he did was just below average. However, the one thing he did show promise in was his ability to play strategy games. His favourite of course being the worldwide hit of Duel Monsters. While Taiyo did love his family, and dearly looked up to his brother Ichimaru, he always felt like a disappointment. Thus, he spent all of his time trying to master the game, come up with his best strategies and his own personal collection of cards.

One day, however, his brother gave him a gift. A card he had found on a walk home from school. This card became everything to Taiyo, and he centered his entire deck around this one card that his brother gave him. A deck he would later call his Archfiend Empire. Despite the fact his deck wasn’t considered as competitive as others, he persevered, and eventually won several tournaments. After many years of neglect, and some form of promise showing from their other son, Taiyo’s parents used some of their savings to buy him admission into the Saotome Duel Institute. Now with a gift from both his brother and his parents, Taiyo vows to never let them down, and prove to them that he has some worth in the world.

Wish: Taiyo wishes to become the best duelist to impress his parents as much as his brother.
