@everyone:
What are some elements of the Overlord setting, you would like to explore during play?
Perhaps some bit of lore that was only mentioned in passing.

I think I want to improve the world. Or at least meddle in the business of the NPC kingdoms. It should be fun with how overpowered she is.

Well, after some initial character development on each of our own parts related to the new reality in which they find themselves immersed, I think it'll have to come to pass where the players with positive moral alignment have to come to terms with the fact that, since everyone's no longer just playing a game in which their actions have no real consequences, having evil sadistic supervillians out there to torture, enslave, and destroy the world as they see fit can't be allowed to continue.

In Overlord, as far as I know, Momonga is the only superpowerful player, and because he's quite literally an evil overlord he has free reign to kill 70,000 people with a single spell and summon an eldritch abomination to slaughter even more. In this story, there's going to be both good and bad all-powerfuls; characters like my own, Lexus Dominiel, SpringPuppy, and Selena might have to decide whether to betray their principles and let their peers-turned-megalomaniacs run rampant, or decide to oppose the overwhelming odds.

It could be quite the interesting story; a tale of former friends turned enemies as they embrace their new selves, obliged to be the horrible or heroic beings they set themselves up as, blurring the line between reality and fantasy, a tale of losing one's humanity or perhaps reclaiming it.

I think that playing around with the kingdoms is already nice enough but some interaction with dragon lords and their barely explained wild magic would be something I'd like to see.
Playing around as an overpowered adventurer would also be pretty funny. Reminds me of more traditional Isekai novels.

Yeah, I can see Selena playing around and pretending to be an ordinary adventurer.

@Lugubrious
Selena will need to level up some more and get better equipment before tackling superbeings like that. She's not the kind of person who will jump in without assessing the situation. And she will not go out of her way to attack them either.

I have a healthy fascination with Wild Magic as well. xD

IIRC, the dragon kingdoms were still mostly human, so I wonder how they'll respond to some of the players here (myself included) who are of a beastkin or heteromorphic race, given how they've been depicted in lore so far.

@Lugubrious
You really hit the nail on the head of what I want to see happen between the players. o.o

Though, to be honest, I'd also be just as interested in investigating what folktales and legends exist in this region that the players may not yet be aware of. 600 years is a long time, and we're fairly well removed from where E-Rantel and the other canon villages.

I'd imagine old stories about the Greed Kings and the hunting of the dragonlords in previous eras would still be lingering.

That's precisely the sort of thing I'm interested in! Conversations like this:

"Please tell me you're gonna work with us on this. There's only like four of us with a positive alignment, and if we don't do anything, those psychos are gonna wipe out or take control of everything just 'cause they can!"

"What!? Me!? I got a positive alignment 'cause I was friendly and peaceful, not 'cause I went around toppling dictatorships! I'm not gonna get myself killed just when my life is turning around. Even if I did, they're all crazy specc'd for PVP. One of 'em could wipe the floor with us! You do what you want, I'm staying in my village."

"What about when they come for your village? Maybe Azoth decides he doesn't have enough thralls and comes marching around. What then?"

"Then at least I'll have enjoyed some of my time!"

Of course, I'm interested to explore the setting as well. Some kind of inter-group conflict would, with the current roster, not go too well for the 'good guys', if they decide to don that mantle at all knowing what they do about their former friends.

Who knows, maybe some of these negatively aligned players may have a change of heart? Or vice-versa?
Maybe their moral compass has a more influence in their decisions once they realize that the MMO world is now reality?

Absolutely this. Lexus Dominiel subscribes to a version of 'good' that is not palatable to most people with a sense of free will. Seeing things in black-and-white, LD will tolerate no deviance and no insubordination. If anything, LD will seek out the 'holiest' kingdom, purge the leadership of any and all existing corruption, and establish a hegemony for the greater good, with absolute distribution of wealth. The only upside is LD does not discriminate, and wants to see all races living good, equal, sinless lives

Being an NPC, Lexus Dominiel's does not realize that the world is any different. But Lexus Dominiel is now sentient, and is capable of realizing that the player characters are not in fact, all-good, all-knowing, or all-powerful. Serving them, therefore, may create a contradiction, and as the Angel of Law, Lexus Dominiel cannot tolerate contradictions.

I think Himitsu's fit for the silent observer role. She lives high in the mountains, listening to any messages that her friend-birds will bring to her to keep up in the current happenings around the world. She can also explore by flying around nearby villages just for the sake of exploring. Although she was initially good, she can have a tough time trusting people, especially humans, as she was heavily criticized before due to what she is and what she looks like. One thing's for sure: she will be hostile towards demons and the like.

But wait: are we ALL gonna start the story straight after the game closes or it depends on our character's story?

After dealing the initial loss of losing a husband and son, I think December will probably wander listlessly for awhile. Although, witnessing particularly cruel and evil actions by other Players or NPCs will definitely spur her to work to prevent them; if that means PK'ing some demon lord, so be it. I imagine she may end up like Selena, although for different reasons, disguised as some travelling commoner.

I can't really speak for our GM, but as far as I know Iceheart hasn't said that there's any limit to how many people can join. Given the tendency for there to be at least a few players who jump ship forthright, I feel as though you'd be welcome.
