_Appearance

Lyra stands, willowy and tall, at 5 foot 8 inches. Her figure is athletic and graceful, with her movements being noticeably more fluid than your average girl. Ever heard of a clumsy daughter of Hera? Didn't think so. The first thing people tend to notice are Lyra's eyes - icy and analysing with a distinct coolness to them that seems almost other-worldly. Almost. The expressions she makes with her face tend to ruin this tranquil impression. Lyra certainly does not hide what she feels.

Cool-toned blonde hair reaches a little ways past her shoulders often in soft waves with at least part of it pulled back out of her face - to ensure that she has nothing in the way of her and her target, of course. Despite the fact that she inherited her father's eyes and hair, Lyra's features, in general, are rather attractive and, according to her father, distinctly similar to that of her mother's. She has a tattoo of the Lyra constellation behind her left ear, and her ears pierced twice on each ear. She does not tend to wear a lot of makeup - sticking instead to a thin coat of mascara, eyeliner and lipgloss every now and again. She always ensures she looks put-together and presentable. Her fashion sense is trendy, yet practical, and she leans towards lighter, pastel clothing and has a particular fondness for golden bracelets. She is never seen not wearing the simple necklace around her neck adorned with the engraving of a peacock's feather.

Try as she might to defy against it, Lyra is very much the daughter of Hera. Devoted with an almost blind intensity to what she cares about, Lyra will allow nothing to get in the way of what she wants. She is opinionated, outspoken and perhaps a little harsh at times with her witty, dry humour, which tends to cause a lot of people to dislike her. Before they get to know her, most will regard her as the flippant, self-obsessed demigod 'princess' that everyone labels her as being. If only they could see past that side of her.

Beyond the self-interest and uppity mannerisms, it is clear that Lyra has a golden heart. She tries to see the good in people - even when there's not much there. Many have found that she is particularly talented in the art of bringing out what is best in others. People see not just Lyra, but also themselves, in a new light as they get to know her. She can be charismatic, bubbly and a delight to be around if you give her a chance, hard as it may be.

She has found that she is very good at being right. If she has an incline towards something, more often than not it'll prove itself to be true. So if she doesn't like you straight off the bat, then it will be very difficult indeed to get her to turn that around. This issue with trust stems from a dark sense of insecurity Lyra possesses - one not uncommon within her bloodline. She becomes jealous very easily, which often comes down to her not feeling good enough. It is an aspect of herself that she tries to push away, however it always seems to pop right back at the worst of times. It is the only time you will see her truly angry - when she is jealous. It's not pretty, and she knows it, but it's somewhat reasonable to insist that she's worth that particular downside.

_History

Jason Woods was a popular, rich CEO of some major corporation in London when Hera sauntered into his life - eyes alight with purpose and fixed on him and him only. All she needed to do was bat her eyelashes and he dropped everything for her. This woman was the real deal - not like those gold-digging desperate girls that would 'accidentally' bump into him in the club. She was marriage material. At least, that was what she convinced him with her matter-of-fact, silken tone as he gave her the key to his fancy flat, and the key to his heart. Truth be told, Hera had been tired of learning of all the girls Zeus was sleeping around with. She had been sick of punishing them, so instead decided to punish him. So she set her sights on one of the most powerful young men in Britain and turned his world upside down.

They had a brief affair - nothing more than a few months - but it was enough to get Jason to pack his bags, quit his job and move to the States with her. It wasn't as if he was utterly helpless when she left - a millionaire with a big enough house to himself in a nice area. he was heart broken, though. Young Jason Woods, the playboy, heartbroken by the Goddess of Marriage. He heard nothing from her for nine months. Then came a little blue-eyed baby in a basket with a note saying something along the lines of: 'her name is Lyra and she's yours. She will spend her summers with me. Take care of her.' It was definitely from Hera. If the gold calligraphy it had been written in didn't give it away, then the abrupt tone of it was surely enough.

And so Lyra spent the majority of her childhood being spoilt rotten by her father, who thought the world of her, and having it 'corrected' by her Goddess mother every summer. She attended private school, where she was, of course, queen bee until she was sixteen. She had never really been interested in relationships by that point - a casual hookup every now and again was just enough to keep her from getting bored.

In an attempt to make her daughter's life a little simpler, Hera made sure that Lyra knew she was special from a very young age. By the age of nine, her mother had managed to coax out two of her three main abilities - much to the dismay of her father, for one Christmas when he suggested to nine-year-old Lyra that she should leave out cookies for Santa, she just raised a brow skeptically and asked: "Do you really expect me to believe that, daddy?" And such was the way of life for Lyra; she had a somewhat limited imagination as a child, for she could see through everything around her that wasn't real. Jason argued that the magic of her childhood was being taken away from her, while her mother merely rolled her eyes at such a suggestion and told her daughter to sit up straighter.

From such a strange upbringing blossomed a prim and proper young lady, who was promptly carted off to Olympus Academy by her mother. Hera had warned her daughter that she would hate the place at first, and she was right - Lyra had detested the fact that she was no longer the only special one. But slowly, and gradually, she became a part of the Academy more than she had become a part of anywhere before. It was midway through her second year that she discovered her ability to bless and curse relationships. Some daughter of Aphrodite had told her that her hair looked dry, so seventeen year old Lyra had went to bed that night and wished that Aphrodite girl would never find love. Of course, she was not nearly powerful enough to be able to pull off a stunt like that, but the girl had nonetheless caught her boyfriend cheating on her the next day.

Lyra had been happy at first with this revelation; however, upon passing the girl sobbing in the toilets, she began to feel something she hadn't been taught to feel by her mother ever before. Guilt. It was Olympus Academy that really brought out the heart of gold in Lyra. She did not strengthen in quite the way Hera had planned, but instead in so many other, better ways.

Over the years, Hera has made it very difficult for Lyra to love her, per say. Throughout the time spent with her mother, Lyra was being taught lesson after lesson on how to be a proper lady, wife and to look the part. For a while she despised her mother for this. Instead of the cuddles and kisses she saw every other child being showered in, she would be given an approving nod of the head or a glimmering smile if she was lucky. However, as she grew older, she began to see the value in Hera's lessons, tough as they were, and started to actually listen. Their relationship developed from frosty, to civil, to tender. They grew to become a formidable pair - the vengeful mother and daughter with impeccable manners.

_{Demigod Abilities}

she's a life-ruiner. she ruins people's lives. Perhaps the cruelest of Lyra's abilities, and the one she's only ever used once, accidentally, is her ability to bless or curse a relationship. She can influence their temperments towards each other, their temptation to cheat on the other and also, to a degree, how much they think they love their partner. The effects of her influence typically do not last forever, however tend to last just long enough for even marriages to crumble or strengthen. On a similar note, she can also detect the status of a couple's relationship - if you're lovers with someone and don't want anyone to know, then you better get on Lyra's good side.

fool me once, shame on you. Lyra is able to detect, to an extent, when she is being tricked or lied to. It's not as if the liars have a big sign above their head saying 'I'm lying', she is just extremely good at picking up on little signs that someone is not being fully honest. For example, deductions such as the twitching of an eye or lack of eye contact are obvious signs to her that someone is trying to fool her. However, she has found that this ability is severely limited while she is in the presence of children of Hermes, since they tend to be natural born tricksters. Hence the reason why she is very skeptical and is always analysing and scrutinising everyone. Additionally, she is also very skilled at predicting what her opponent is planning on doing within a battle - she can pretty much solidly predict every move they make. Unless they change their mind a millisecond before, of course.

girl power. Lyra has she ability to heal any external wounds on a female, but not a man. Try as she might, it's just never worked on the male species. She merely has to pass a hand over the injury and the healing process is accelarated greatly, and within minutes, there should be nothing but a scar left. Depending on the severity of the wound, this ability can be extremely draining for Lyra. If a woman has been stabbed multiple times in the stomach, she can, technically, heal them, but it has the potential to almost kill her with exhaustion. The closer to death they are, then the harder it is for Lyra to help them. She has not had a chance to fully explore the limitations of this ability - for example, who it can necessarily work on under the 'female' label. She has discovered that this ability also extends to female animals, but she has only ever tried it with small rodents such as squirrels and birds.

Dana would not strike anyone as the fearsome princess of war that her friends and the families of her late enemies are acquainted with. She is a tall, gracile girl, standing at 5’10 and weighing only 115 lbs. Even casually, she walks as though she is picturing herself on a runway, forcefully and purposefully. This intense focus is the truest hint of her parentage and of her own determination. Removed of that, she could easily be mistaken for a silent, playful girl; her high cheekbones, sienna-colored doe-eyed stare, and arched eyebrows often give people the impression that she’s a polite girl who just can’t understand them. She can.

Dana takes pride in keeping her appearance composed and professional, and she is often Marcy’s cohort in their extravagant shopping trips. A black coat is a staple of her wardrobe, as they leave her feeling v snug and cozy and protected from the mountain weather. Furthermore, however, she likes the protection of being able to hide one of her knives, handguns, or phones on her person at all times, and the coat hides all. Beyond that, Dana’s arsenal is comprised of anything from pencil skirts to leggings, usually paired with boots and accessories such as a flowing red scarf. Heels aren’t out of the question, but if she finds herself in a fight – as she often will – she will kick them off at the start of a duel and may even attempt to use them as weapons in the bloodbath to come.

Dana tries her best to embody a personal code of honor. She strikes most people as a quiet, unassuming girl, silent where most of her friends are brash and talkative. She is very quiet, as a matter of fact, so much so that much of the time she spends hanging out with her best friend is sent with the two of them curled up silently together, immersed in each other’s projects or social media feeds. Though not particularly eager to volunteer for things, she will graciously agree to help if anyone were to ask for her assistance on such a project, or even if someone would like to just go and hang out. She does her best to stay quiet and drift through life.

This lowkey, agreeable nature belies the true ferocity that forges the bones and heats the heart of Dana Harada. She is a bombastic and proud young woman, quick to fight and hard to placate when her honor is slighted or those around her are aggrieved. She enjoys the brutality of a fight and doesn’t mind roughing up her own pretty face or hairdo in the name of turning somebody into a pulp; she’s both more lowkey and more violent than her older brother, which means that she relies on him to be a good role model and balancing point for the two extremes of her nature.

History
Believe it or not, even Olympians sometimes find themselves in a legal bind. Hermes' early bouts of thievery aside, not one god was taken to task for his or her sphere of influence quite so often as Ares, God of War. The bloodthirsty immortal would often find himself fighting a war with particular zeal and go too far in the eyes of man; in most instances, Zeus would allow Ares to spirit himself away, but once every few centuries the God of War was left to stew in his own hell. It was during one such situation in the last decade of the 20th century when Ares found himself on the wrong side of failed Yakuza interests in Japan, and a Yamaguchi-gumi retained lawyer was tasked to defend him from the investigation that followed. As absurd as it was, Ares followed the trial to completion, and was so impressed by the poise and cool under fire that his attorney displayed - not at all dissimilar to that of a trained elite - that the two soon fathered a child together.

Said resultant seed, Harada Danaye, grew into a quietly independent girl with a penchant for laissez-faire leadership, but leadership nonetheless, of most group activities within the school. This, coupled with increasingly frequent visits from Ares as she sprouted into adolescence, nurtured the belief in the God of War that perhaps his daughter wasn't cut out to languish alone amongst humans in Japan for the rest of her life, and she found herself directed to Olympus Academy in a new country across the world. Thus far, the experience has proved a healthy one for Dana, even if it has reinforced some of her more prickly traits. She has grown particularly close to her older brother and his cohort of friends, often tagging along with them and taking advantage of their wellspring of shopping money. She also independently made a best friend of her own in Rebekah Cross, who she has dormed with every year of her she’s stayed at Olympus.

Dana enjoys her father's company, and though their visits are fleeting she has inherited his love of a fight, and a belief that no fight is meaningless when it comes to your personal reputation and honor - or even just for fun. Ares, for his part, finds an endless source of amusement in his daughter's seriousness and antics. She believes that Niichan shares some of her outbursts out of context so they can laugh about it together. She would gladly fight both of them for their insolence.

Demigod Abilities

Kiss Kiss! – Dana is no stranger to brutal fights, and relishes the opportunity to overcome the strongest blows her enemy can strike. Such blows, she believes, only strengthen her mentally and are proof of the things that her indomitable strength and will can overcome. As such, in fights, landing blows on her will only toughen her; she will bleed and ache in due time from the wounds, but in the heat of battle she will never fall to her knees.

Bang Bang! – Similarly, the weapons that Dana-chan is armed with should rightly consider themselves blessed to be wielded by the yakuza princess. In her hands, a butter knife could carve like a sword; a slingshot hits with the force of a beanbag launcher; a shotgun would hit like an atomic blast at point blank.

Fog of War – Dana's unique mix of pride and hot temper makes for an interesting personality dichotomy. In battle and in her academics, her focus is imperative, and she has honed that focus to a knife's edge. Any attempts at mental or psychic interference from another demigod will backfire heavily on someone trying to interfere with Dana. Attempts to read her mind or emotions, charm, intimidate, or influence her with one's powers will only result in upsetting her. It's not worth upsetting her.

Isten kardja – The sword of Mars has been the symbol of the god of war since time immemorial, a weapon that defies classification under Ares, Mars, or any of his other facets; its wielders have long since passed into legend, too, from heroes to Huns. Dana wields the reforged blade - emphasis on reforged. Her father's blade now comes with an eight round magazine, and it's a pain getting it through airport security.

Oh! Yeah, at this time there is only one daughter and one son per deity. So, if you want to make a character, it will have to be the Son of Athena.
