The Assembly was deathly silent. On most occasions, they were an unruly bunch, the wealthiest and most troublesome aristocrats of the glorious Dwarven Republic, most civilized of all nations. Yet the sight before them could compel even them to silence. That was not to mean that they were calm; rather the opposite, the room's quiet was filled with an noiseless rage, as each councillor choked on their own fury. Sitting on stone benches in a massive, ornate circular chamber, they surrounded the dwarf ambassador before them, with every scar on his body visible. The Elf-King had had him flogged, twenty-five lashes in all. For what seemed like hours, nobody dared to speak.

"War", breathed suddenly Councillor Loeric, shocking all: he was the leader of the isolationist peace faction.

"War", agreed another voice, and soon the silent uproar became a loud uproar, as shouts of "To war!" and "Death to the elves!" went up. Amidst it all, Councillor Ordyr's booming voice could be heard, clamoring his usual wish, this time eliciting the roaring approval of the chamber: "We must slay every last elf, from the lowliest peasant to the vile Elf-King! We must sack the foul city of Galenave and pull it apart, stone from stone!"

Speaker Tismar shouted with the rest of them, yet knew that the matter was not that simple. The Elves were backed by all the might of the expansive Galan League, composed of the oldest, most renown peoples in the known world. The Republic had many allies within their own Ingrian League, true, yet would they all remain loyal? There was only one certainty: The time of second thoughts and indecision was over. Now, all would have to take a side, and the world would surely burn.

Welcome to the world of Tver, on the brink of a war between the illustrious yet stagnant Kingdom of Norium, and the ambitious Republic of Cesia. You will play as a country or even race of your own creation as you maneuver geopolitics. In this NRP, the system of alliances is everything, and those without allies will find themselves alone in a sea of enemies. The game starts at the beginning of the year 714, from a calendar based on the founding of the Kingdom of Norium.

There is a wiki for this, right here. There's also an IRC, here: http://client00.chat.mibbit.com/. Use channel #FiatBello.

WANTED: A co-GM. I'm not always available, so I'd like to have somebody who can back me up and manage the RP on the occasions where I'm busy.

Nation Name: Nictra
Location on map:
Race: Elves
Type Of Government: Reactionary Republic
Faction: Leaning for Galan League
Ruler: Aries Denlent The V
Capital: Nightwall. The city is located on the small island that Nictra owns. It wasn't originally the capital, but around 682 they moved the capital as it would be more defendable. The city takes up about 20% of the left side of the island, named Corpi in 668. 15% of it is surrounded by a wall, and the rest is surrounded by 50% of the small military.
History: The republic of Nictra is a small republic, which was founded as a monarchy around 150 years ago by a man called Tensus. The monarchy was quickly overthrown due to complications with power, and they installed a Republic. They have never been involved in a conflict, as they have never been big enough to even consider a full scale war.In the past they have been known for nothing but their beautiful capital that is Nightwall. They take opportunities when they come, vunerable places won't get far in their eyes. Nictras army is small, and they only have 2 small political parties. That in Liberals and, of course, reactionaries. Nictra keep to their own countries issues, and while Not completely neutral, Nictra don't like to get involved in other countries politics.
Administration: Nictra is a republic, meaning they have elections. However, the Denlent family has won said elections for the past 5 generations, hence the current ruler being called Aries Denlent "The V". The country is run with a lot of power going to the ruler, but not all of it, as the people do get a vote in some important decisions.
Military:The Republic of Nictra's military is around 30% under the average amount of military power. Their navy is only slightly below average, the reason for this is so they can defend Corpi.

Nation name: Kingdom of Salados (Pronounced Sal-ay-dos)
Location on map:
Race: Predominantly human
Type of government: Monarchy
Faction: League of Ingria
Ruler: Relu Boderoy
Capital:Tryllbridge
History: The successes and fortunes of Salados have always been due to its ships. A thriving trade system, bountiful hauls of fish and a strong navy have kept the kingdom prosperous despite its small size. Salados is a largely human community, though Elves and Dwarfs are both welcome there. They have a very old and strong alliance with the League of Ingria. The House of Boderoy has been a fairly recent addition to the kingdom's history, as the last heir to the House of Lister died at sea, and the eldest daughter of the king was married to the Boderoys to ensure that the bloodline continues to sit on the throne. Relu was born three generations since.

I haven't got time to make anything at the moment and will be out of the country all this week, but I would like to claim a bit of land for Mardithia. I will do my best to get a basic NS up today, but if I don't, know that I will have it up next Sunday when I come back.

Edit: Oh, and if you are still in need of a co-GM, I have experience with NRP's and normal RP's, so I will be more than happy to help out when I come back.

Edit II:

Nation name: Mardithia

Location on map:

Race: Human

Type of government: Elective Monarchy

Faction: League of Ingria

Ruler: High Thian Magnus 'the Old Wolf' Feuertarga

Capital: The City of Maj'Dwaremburg

General info (will develop history and others later): Mardithia is a relatively young kingdom, having risen to power one hundred or so years before the present . Originally made up of three warring nations, each with their own cultural and military tradition, only a powerful leader could hope to unite them. This powerful leader rose to power in the Kingdom of Majdathia, and within five years had a standing army unlike any other seen before. Instead of concentrating on huge numbers and relentlessness to win battles; he had developed a new idea: a military built on tactics, discipline and training. He had seen how the neighboring nations of the elves and the dwarves had standing armies which were trained and disciplined, and he reformed his Kingdom's army on this basis, but he went one step further: he trained and disciplined them to work in formations, designing his armies to be tactically superior to any enemy, just by existing.

He created a formation very similar to the Roman testudo formation, but with spears jutting out of the front, flanks and back, make it very much like a hedgehog. Any direct attack on this formation was assuredly futile. This proved effective against cavalry, as they were put down by the spears when they tried to charge in. It also proved effective against archers who could not harm the completely protected Mardithian soldiers, and it also proved effective to some extent, against infantry who would receive great losses before the Mardithian soldiers would finally break the Testu-Phalanx formation and finish off the enemy infantry with short swords, extremely effective at close range. This army was proved itself to be the most disciplined and powerful, and with it the Kingdom of Majdathia went to war.
With this new formation and army, the Majdathia completely eradicated the other two warring Kingdoms in a matter of years, absorbing their cultures and creating one, united and powerful nation; the Mardithia. The Kingdom of Mardithia has been growing ever more powerful since then, its trade and economy both booming, and its military power as indomitable and powerful as it was a hundred years before. Even though the Mardithians are fully capable of sweeping through the continent, causing havoc and possibly conquering other nations, its kings have been very peace-loving, preferring to prosper rather than conquer, though its skirmishes with barbarians at its borders and combat with pirates have kept its army prepared for war and powerful as ever.

Mardithia has a very strict class system, made up of four tiers, the first is made up of the High Thian and Military Elite (generals etc) at the top – with the Emperor being the chief commander of the whole army, as well as the Senate, second come the High Thian's relatives, nobility and other aristocrats, while third are the merchants and landowners, those who have created their own class through wealth, and at the bottom, as usual, are the workers and peasants. No one can encroach upon the power of the High Thian and his Military, he is the supreme commander and authority in the land, though the Senate does wield considerable power and influence, often being the one to elect the High Thian. Generals and military officials are extremely powerful and also have considerable power. As all High Thians have been of the reforming stripe thus far, this has caused no problems, with even the peasants and workers having a relatively good quality of life. Inspectors constantly make sure that they are treated fairly by landowners and aristocrats, and that even though they are not paid for working, that they are fed properly and have as much freedom in their villages as possible. The city workers have these inspections as well, and their places of living and food are always checked for quality and quantity. However, these only happen due to the High Thian and Senate pushing for them, should an ignorant ruler come along, these inspections can disappear and the lowest class may end up in utter poverty, willing to rebel and cause great havoc.

Nation name: Jonhfeir
Location on map:
Race:Gnomes.
Type of government: Oligarchy
Faction: Galan League (Trading partner with Norium.)
Ruler: BamGardo Bywater (Prime Crafter.)
Capital: Fier City (In the South.)
History: The Gnome population in Lera used to be small settlements in the small part of the continent were there was vegetation. This all changed when there were valuable resources to be mined in the mountains to the North about a century ago. Soon there was business in mining, supplying lumber and food to the miners, and the shops and craft workers in the middle. Soon there were a few factory owners in the middle section of the bustling nation were able to form a government that were able to control business, especially when there were other nations were discovered over seas and Johnfeir began to export their precious metals.
The government, called the Crafters Council, normally only sets policies on business and measurement, using the army force to uphold the laws they do have. Each city will regulate there activity with its own leader ship, as long as the Council sees the city is up to par during their yearly inspection. If a recognized city or settlement is not functioning properly, the government will install its own leader ship, all though, this rarely happens and is unheard of. The Council itself consists of ten members, three of the richest from each of the regions, and then the richest in the land, the Prime Crafter. The current Prime Crafter is a direct descendant of the previous three, who have been doing well in teaching their children their future duty. Though the current system of government has been running smoothly, there has been some contention, Bywaters is growing old and he has no family to pick up his business or to lead the country. Time of change is coming for the young nation.
There are four major cities in Johnfeir, each one of the countries three regions. First, there is Fier City to the South, were there is the highest population. Next, in the center there is the trade city of Midville, the trade city of the nation. The next most populated is Portston where the Eastern River empties into the ocean, this is where all ships leave and enter the country. Finally, there is Iron City, where the mining business is the strongest and where most people have flocked to try and "get rich quick".
The main form of transport in Johnfeir is a domesticated breed of an animal that looks like a mix between a wolf and a loin called a Barker. Barkers are common only among traders and the small military/police force. They are useful for two reasons, first they can travel long distances at a high speed, and they are very ferocious fighting animals. Barker's were traditionally used for hunting before the gigantic economic boom.

Done. I hope this is okay, being my first real nation C.S. Please tell me if I need to add something.

Nation name: Kingdom of Norium

Race: Norium is an elven nation, and extremely xenophobic to other races. No others are permitted within its lands, save under extraordinary circumstances, at the permission of the King. Some border cities are designated as open for foreign merchants, yet even there the other races are limited and only welcome temporarily.
Type of government: Absolute monarchy
Faction: Leader and founder of the Galan League
Ruler: King Louard VII
Capital: Galenave
History: Norium was born in the time of lawlessness and darkness 714 years ago, when the great king of the Galans, Pern I, subdued the other elven kings, and drove out the non-elves from his lands. He would divide his lands upon his children, a tradition which was continued by his heirs until his dynasty died out out of infighting, and the House of Drell, upon securing the throne, discontinued the practice, instead granting all the landings of Norium to his eldest son. The Drell kings oversaw the golden age of Norium, when its borders were secure, its coffers plenty, and all other peoples in the world paid the King homage, at least in words. In this time, the elven race also reached the peak of its power, establishing dominance over all other races. Non-human states were initially looked to with distrust, yet over time Norium's policy towards them changed towards tolerance and eventually friendship. Those that would not accept the new order were purged. Galenave became the foremost city in the world at this time, with a great collection of artists, philosophers, and scientists of all kinds. The Norin tongue became adopted in foreign courts across the world.

All things eventually end, however, and the last Drell kings were successively mad, cruel, incompetent, or all at the same time. The early death of the child king Louard V with no known heirs instigated a bloody civil war between ever shifting factions, and Galenave was sacked not once, but twice in a period of a year. To compound the difficulties the kingdom was facing, the Plague of Valenia struck suddenly, spread by sailors. Though the plague devasted almost every country, Norium was the hardest hit, as its large urban cities became ideal spreading grounds for the disease. Many of the great cities of old were abbandoned during this time, including the southern islands.

Finally, a lord of the House of Erondelle was crowned king, the other contestants having been slain in the field, assassinated, or beheaded. He was the grandfather of the current king, Louard VII. The reign of the Erondelle kings has been marked by the ascendance of the ambitious Cesian Republic, an agressive dwarven nation beyond the southern sea which spreads its influence and gnaws at the Kingdom. Upon hearing that the city of Aquon, a tributary of the Norin King, had undergone a suspicious coup and defected to the Republic, King Louard was outraged. A mocking comment by the dwarven ambassador drove the king to one of the fits of anger he was prone to, and he ordered the envoy flogged before all the city. This may prove to set things in motion that should never have begun...
