Alaia looked at Maeryn, “Why would they know anything? They are random citizens wouldn’t it be best to go to River Port if the humans were or are there? We are more likely to get info from the people in River Port.” She did not want to waste her time talking to a bunch of oversized braindead green skins. She watched as the white thing approached Maeryn and Astra. It had not spoken much so Alaia wondered if it was more or less a mindless animal. She moved over quickly and knelt before her, “Hey there little puppy! Cutiepie aren’t you?” She listened as the others spoke, understanding now that they were allying with these beings to go to River Port. Though she was used to being alone with Maeryn, she saw the benefit of the ordeal. If she could have more opportunities with her new big red friend, she could get him mad enough to start havoc in a town of innocents. That would be fun!

Caelan caught Sophie as she slipped into his arms, laughing at how silly and outgoing she became after drinking. He felt strange himself. The Avalian alcohol was more potent than the ones he had on Earth. It felt nice to have the cute girl in his arms; her skin was very smooth as well. He wanted to get to know this side of Sophie more. “ I have played yes but now I really don’t think this is the best time to play. You may bump into people and they could get upset.”

Before he could suggest an alternative, Slick called them. He looked over to see Slick and Aurora were joining them in bathing suits too. ” Yeah I think she looks great! Nice of you to join us!” Caelan smiled at the two before looking back at Sophie to make sure she hadn’t fallen again.

“Let’s go,” The lithe-bodied stranger spoke. He had cleaned up the remaining goblins with graceful and deliberate strikes. For Dante and Darius, their savior appeared to be capable enough to listen to. If Dante was correct, the three were fairly close to civilization. The thought of the settlement being so different than their own hadn’t crossed their minds. The two just wanted to be out of the brush where they had lost not one, but two parties of Avalians during their journey south.

“Sure.” Darius took a heavy breath as he glanced back at the bodies scattered across the dirt low vegetation. Another close call…

Dante quickly looted what he could from the goblins. He found 20 amas, a ripped old hat, 5 alaberries. He figured these would be helpful in his anxious mind state, given the fact they needed to get out of the area before more goblins arrived.

“The guy said to come on! What are you even doing? Their weapons suck.” Darius nagged looking back at Dante. He figured listening to the person who had just saved them was the best bet at survival now. Sure, he was a stranger, but he had gone out of his way to not only save the two brothers but he also started leading them in the direction they had originally been traveling in.

“Dude, I grabbed money we are going to need it.” Dante replied to him, who was now caught up to his brother.

“Ohh.” Darius raised his brows. “Why not give it to the guy who saved us. Y’know, like a reward or something.” Darius gave a nod towards the back of their savior who led the way.

“Bro look at him, he has money for sure. He’s from here. We can just pay him back when we get more.” Dante spoke in a hushed tone, leaning in as he did. Dairus shrugged.

“I guess so.” He said softly back to Dante. “Actually… Hey! What’s your name anyway? I’m Darius, and this is my brother Dante.”

Ping! A bullet had hit the back of his helmet knocking his head forward. It ricocheted off into the air, “You mother fucker if you dented my helmet you are going to die!” He yelled before finishing reloading another bolt into his crossbow. The ship was in chaos with cannons firing and magic going off. Adrenaline pumped through his veins and he grinned under his helmet.

Barboda stood up and turned to aim, retorting to Lizzie and Tigerlily, “I didn’t mean to get you ladies all worked up. Don’t worry I got this.” He braced himself against the crate he was against to steady his shots. He fired repeatedly at ten of the targets missing three.

“I give them about ten minutes before they are on the ground dying!” He yelled to the others on the ship. “Target any fairies or those you see with potions!” He added before going back behind cover to reload.

Caelan excitedly looked over as Sophie left the changing room in her cute bathing suit. He almost missed how weird she was walking as he was too busy looking at her. It became clear she was very drunk as she slurred and then slipped into the water. He burst out laughing and then moved to knelt down by the pool. He grabbed her from under her arms and pulled her up, ”Sophie come on. It’s too early to drown.” He smiled at her. “Maybe you should sit on the edge for a minute and go in gently or better yet I will help you.” He said to her, crawling into the pool. He stood in front of her and reached his arms out.

An entire day… The two had been traveling for an entire day on their path to River Port. Through the brush, over creeks, and in the company of several foreign creatures for part of the way. Of all the humans that had arrived in Avalia, Dante and Darius were arguably the most acquainted to the natural world of Avalia.

“How much longer? We’ve been on this path forever! You sure we aren’t lost or something?”Darius groaned as he attempted to peek at the map Dante currently held up. They’d been traveling without much rest, mostly due to their lives being threatened a few times since their arrival. “Dude, would you stop complaining for two seconds? I almost forgot why I joined the army.” Dante said, patting his brother’s shoulder ending with a laugh. “You want to hold the map?” Dante asked as he handed the map over. Darius swiftly snatched the map with a glare towards his older brother’s previous comments.

“Sure!” He said, purposely delaying the exclamation after he had taken the map in a somewhat rude fashion. “Two seconds…” Darius chuckled, opening the map to the foreign land the two now found themselves in. “Wait…” Darius stopped in his tracks and looked at Dante with an almost troubled expression.

“What’s wrong?” Dante said looking back at him. With a confused look across his face. Darius was shaking his head with his eyes focused on the map again.

“How the hell am I supposed to know where we are? You didn’t even put a marker or anything on here! Look!” Darius flipped the map over to Dante. “Nothin.” Darius had been so used to maps showcased in video games that displayed one’s current position with a reticle of some kind.

”Man are you stupid? We have nothing to mark it with nor do we want to ruin the only map we have of this place. All I know is if we continue on this path we will end up in the place over here.” He replied pointing to River Port on the map for Darius. The younger of the two brothers stared at where the town was for a moment. He was a stranger to things like map reading and navigating the wilderness, so it was hard for him to argue against his brother’s reasoning, even if it did seem kind of off to him.

With a quiet sigh of defeat he started walking again, passing Dante.

“You better be right! Come on, hurry up, why are you just standing there?” Darius obnoxiously called. “And I’m not stupid.” Darius hid a smirk as he currently led the way.
Dante went from standing to running past Darius taking this as a challenge “Yeah I’ll race you! Let’s see you keep up!” He said as he looked back at his brother.

“I’ll do more than just keep up!” Darius sprinted after Dante, nearly forgetting their situation. Perhaps it was the lack of sleep, the weird food they ate from the big green guys they met, or maybe this fever dream had reached the point where there was little care anymore. Darius was gaining, but that’s because he had the luxury of not having to be as careful and deliberate as Dante in the front. Unfortunately, it was the lack of deliberateness and attentiveness that had Darius step right into a noose of a tree spring trap. “WHOA!” One second, Darius was staring at Dante’s back, the next he was suspended above ground by the rope trap. The map and sheathed sword Darius had in his possession fell to the ground below. “Fuck! Dante! Hey! Dante! Stop running! Dante!” Darius shouted as his body swung back and forth. He attempted to reach for the rope around his ankle, but he didn’t have the strength or skill to do anything but touch tap the knot with his fingertips. “Damn it!”

Dante stopped in his tracks looking back at him laughing before realizing where he was. ”Oh,fuck you really are dumb.” He took the sword he had on his side and began walking toward him in a rush, getting about ten feet from his brother and swoop! Dante’s feet came out from under him springing another similar trap making him drop his weapon. “Holy Fuck! God damn this place.” He shouted.

“Hmm… Looks like we’re both dumb, huh?” Darius would cross his arms if it was comfortable to do so. “Dumb and about to be dead. Dumb, dead, Dante and Darius.”

“Dude let’s not fuck around now. We need to think about how to get out of these.” Dante said, struggling to free himself.

“When all else fails… especially your brother… HELP! HELP! WE’RE TRAPPED! PLEASE HELP US!” He screamed without much of a choice.

Dante is quite extroverted especially around Darius as he wants to be someone his brother can look up to. He is not selfish and will go to far lengths to help those in danger or those he cares about. Dante is kind but when it comes down to his job he can be considered mean or cruel depending on how you look at things. Dante is willing to sacrifice himself if it means saving or protecting someone close to him.

Dante has a calm demeanor for the most part but can lose his temper if he fails to do something or is unable to help in a situation he feels he should be helping. Dante can be patient in some circumstances but for the most part, is quite impatient and very much a go-getter. Dante is brave being an ex-soldier and mercenary braveness was drilled into him to fight for the things he loves and cares about. He is sometimes overcome with anxiety thinking about something happening to Darius or failing to fit the perfect image he was to his family for him to look up to. Dante is a quick reactor due to the training and work required for his occupations.

He has over-average intelligence but that is mostly in combat, survival, and street smarts. Dante can be charismatic when he wants to be; he can chameleon in situations as he was trained for covert operations. He has a mild sense of humor but it isn’t perfect. History:

Dante grew up with high expectations from his parents, Eric and Monica. Eric served in the Marine Corps and had his foot halfway in the door for most of his childhood, home at times, away at others. His mother was home with Dante and his brother Darius often and she was a very nice lady. They were momma’s boys. He was the firstborn and given the best treatment in order to excel throughout his life. He had expectations, mostly from his father, who would call even when he was away to make sure Dante was getting good grades. Dante succeeded in everything people asked through sheer anxiety of failing not wanting to let people down.

He joined the army when he was 18 as an infantryman. He wound up deploying twice but left the service after his second term. Upon his exit, Dante joined a mercenary group to operate militarily without the restrictions the army placed on him. Between deployments Dante pursued MMA fighting in his downtime. His mercenary and MMA career were kept secret from his family. To their knowledge, he was still enlisted in the army. When Dante was 27, he was captured by the opposition and was taken as a prisoner of war. His equipment was confiscated before he was placed in a room to wait for someone to arrive but after some time a portal appeared on the wall. Dante immediately jumped for it.

Alaia let Maeryn speak and listened to the dark elf girl attentively taking in everything until she mentioned the demon Vrexen ‘My, my he's unkillable, what fun I could have with something like that I really want to play with him.’ She thought looking at Vrexen with joy in her eyes she was truly happy at this moment.

When Vrexen began threatening her Alaia tilted her head before smiling. “It’s okay there Vrexen everything's going to be okay. Are you really that upset by a head pat?” she giggled standing next to Maeryn. Once the dark elf girl spoke more she looked to Maeryn. “Do we want to go to River Port and see what we can find there? I am sure even if we don’t find them there we may find clues.” She said with a smile looking up at him.

Caelan looked at Leaf and Slick. He wondered why they wouldn’t want to go swimming, but at least Aurora would not be alone. He waved them off. “Have it your way, dudes you need to loosen up.” He said with his speech starting to slur. Caelan turned to Sophie as she spoke to him. He couldn’t believe she was talking to him on her own accord and she seemed much more lively than before. Was she tipsy? He wasn’t going to pass up a chance to see her in a bathing suit. “Of course, you can join. I will see you change. I mean after you change. I am so sorry...” He said before walking away embarrassed to one of the changing stalls Sophie had pointed out, stumbling a little bit as he went. Caelan stripped and put on the swim shorts before gathering his clothes and waited for Sophie.
