Do you think the reason Jesus Christ doesn't rise again is because we keep putting up crosses and he gets flashbacks on how that went last time?

Done and done.
And yeah, it's on the same form and technique that firebending is.

Pssst. Don't fight Skally unless you're using an MMA character.

Essentially Alexis is an MMA character. She trained for 10+ years in several forms of matrial arts. OF course, she has other means of fighting, but at her core she is a MMA character.
If anything, stats and numbers only increase the skill required to defeat your opponent. All they do in most cases is define the framework that you have to use, thus restricting you to pre-specified capabilities and forcing your skill to play a larger role because you can't ad-lib things on the spot.

How do you figure? If one person has higher stats in, say, speed and reflexes, then they're automatically going to be able to counter a character whose stats suggest that their speed and reflexes are lower. Sure it might be useful to some. Hell, the reasons you stated are the exact reasons people like stats, but I personally feel it limits the writer creatively. Battles, to me, are best when they are decided by opportune moments rather than pretty-much-set-in-stone reactions. The notion of coming up with something to get oneself out of a sticky situation is the same rush of adrenaline one would get if they were doing some extreme sport.

Not sure how familiar you are with whips...

You need to understand in most practical motions, the whip will not achieve that speed on the tip unless you are trying to intentionally crack it, which is different than trying to strike something intentionally with the tip.

And that's why, my friend, I chose my fists. Much more simpler. ^_^
Bump
updated with one original idea and new fandoms.

I'll give that a go next time.

When I first did it, my guy tried to punch him, except he literally broke the universe, teleported everybody to a different time and place and carried on the fight there where he'd have the advantage of surprise.

As opposed to the advantage of being God.

That kind of sounds like a very good Big Bad-type of character. Like, the kind that the main characters all gather together to defeat, sort of like Aizen from Bleach or Cell from DBZ. Or maybe a more fitting character example, Thanos.
Exactly! I am so excited for when that happens. :3
@Dynamo Frokane
Well, if we're not paired against each other in the tournement -- assuming my sweet Alexis is accepted in the first place -- we can always do a battle between your guy and my girl. :3
Ew, numbers and stats. Can we please keep this away from the Arena and keep it at Tabletop? I'm sorry, @ImportantNobody, I'm sure it works for some people, but for me having numbers and stats involve just takes away what I believe is the best part about RPB's and that's the aspect of writing skill and being able to outsmart your opponent rather than having to write out your reactions based on certain stats and numbers.
In my very first RP (where everybody was a Sue-tastic smarmy pile of dreadful), my character literally went toe-to-toe with a physical incarnation of an omnipotent, omniscient god.

Just don't believe in him and the god will fade eventually. :P
