– E D W A R D B U L W E RThere comes a lot of elegance and grace that comes with the way that Carlo presents himself. His posture is always straight. His back is never arched, which makes him seem taller than his 5’10 frame actually is. His hair is always tucked back tightly in a ponytail. Because he does that, his piercing blue eyes are shown in full view. Sometimes when he’s working out - which is often frequently - his hair can fall over his eyes, but those blue eyes of his still show. Speaking of working out, Carlo’s body has a rather athletic figure. That shouldn’t come as a surprise. As a former and talented Quidditch Beater of House Good, Carlo had to keep his body in prime condition. Though he hasn’t played Quidditch in about a year, Carlo keeps his body in peak condition. If not for his own health, then just so that he can represent himself that only a Valentine could.
Whether he is in the House Good uniform or his own style, everyone at Salem Witches’ Institute can expect Carlo to present himself as a guy like Carlo would. His shirts are always pre-ironed before he goes to bed. They are always straight, there are no wrinkles in them, and always tucked in perfectly. When he dresses himself, Carlo has to remember that he’s not only representing himself, his family, his house, but he is also representing Salem Witches’ Institute as a whole — every student is. As such, he has to make sure he looks the part. As far as his style is concerned, Carlo usually dresses in semi-formal wear. He has slacks and dress pants, button-up shirts, an assortment of sweater vests, leather dress shoes, and pretty much any kind of attire that one such as Carlo would have.
Carlo isn’t a fan of jewelry, which is why he doesn’t have his ears pierced, or any other part of his body, for that matter. However, there is one item that he treasures above everything else. It is a simple, wonderfully-crafted necklace. It is crafted from pure silver and has a single ruby imbedded into the center where it has the shape of a heart with what looks like a white-as-pearl dot in the center. It was given to him by — well, Carlo doesn’t exactly remember who did. All he knows is that, whenever he looks that the heart-shaped ruby, he gets this warm feeling as if the necklace was given to him by someone he had a close, emotional attachment to.

- Disappointing his father. That has been a constant fear of his. Due to how his father is and how high of expectations he holds over his “youngest”, Carlo always fears that he might not live up to the pedestal that his father put him on. That’s why Carlo tries his best to get a perfect A-average at SWI so that his father won’t put his wrath upon him.
- His older brother, Pablo. He always feels inferior to his brother and every time that Carlo comes home from school either for break or after the semester is done with, Pablo always tries to make it his mission in life to bully Carlo around either by demeaning him in front of their father or cornering him in a magic battle.
- Hard leather belts
- That tall shadowy figure that Carlo never has been able to identify for the longest of times.

Not to use slang, but the way that one could describe Carlo as the best they can without making it overcomplicated would be that he has a gentleman’s swag. The charisma he shows off can lead anyone to believe what he says. That isn’t to say that he’s manipulative, but he wouldn’t say anything if someone were to blindly follow or believe him about something. His charm also goes hand in hand with his charisma since its essentially the same thing. Carlo’s charming personality puts him in a good light to the professors, especially if they catch him or those he is with in a compromising situation.
When Carlo speaks, he is able to capture the grace and beauty in anything he is reciting in front of anyone. He is able to capture the emotion within the written text he is reciting as well clearly express it in a memorable way. Adding to speaking eloquently, Carlo shows a certain grace when he’s around people that can only be described as elegant sophistication. What this means is that Carlo does not subject himself to the primal instincts of man that includes, but is not limited to : curse words, starting fights for no reason, being without manners, making noise when eating, burping and farting whenever the need comes, making inappropriate jokes. So, in the end of it all, Carlo acts with dignity and grace and his manner of speaking represent itself as such.
To say that Carlo is confident would be an understatement. Some could say that it’s more cockiness than it is just confidence. Being the son of one of the richest families in the Canadian-American Wizardry World, Carlo half-expects people to treat him a certain way or for him to get a certain reaction. This could show itself in a form of elitism or perhaps even an overconfidence that would fall over into the cockiness region. His overconfidence and almost self-entitlement shows itself dominantly when he’s vying for the attention of someone. It could be some lucky girl that stands out to him in a crowd of wonderful applicants to become his woman. He looks for those that seem different than the rest of the snobbish ones. When he spots one he likes, he goes in like a tiger - fierce and full of confidence. When he approaches them, he will use all that he could to get them to say yes. However, there have been instances where Carlo has been given the word “no” in response to his advances. That’s entirely okay with him even though he doesn’t like the word no. He simply smiles at the fact that he’s going to be able to partake in a game of persuasion - which he is awfully good at. He likes to think that the word “no” just means that he isn’t trying hard enough and a grand gesture won’t be enough; he needs to win whomever he’s trying to get the attention of so much that they couldn’t possibly stay away from him.
Coming from the background that he does, there comes a certain amount of abrasive arrogance that, while Carlo doesn’t intend to, he could come off as a bit insensitive. This is due to the fact that he perhaps doesn’t think of what he says to people that might come from a lower social class than him. Or perhaps it’s that he doesn’t think about what he says and it comes off in a snobbish way. Regardless of what it is, this is sometimes off-putting to those in the middle and lower classes of wealth.
Underneath all of that style, all of that grace, that eloquent, and that elegance, is a man wanting to find love. Underneath all of that overconfidence and nigh-cockiness is a boy who never really found himself to be accepted by his parents. Though as he might try to fool those around him - and maybe himself - Carlo never really could. He wants to find someone that would be able to look past all of those off-putting traits and do what his parents could not wholly: accept him for all that he is.
H I S T O R Y
Though never proven, rumor has it that the Valentine family is directly derived from Saint Valentine of Rome himself. It‘s true that there is a lot of mystery that surrounds the great Saint Valentine of Rome like who exactly he was and what he did for the Roman Catholic Church back in his day of living. At least, that‘s what the public has reason to believe. In actuality, he faked his death. It was rather easy considering the wonders of magic and how the muggles could be deceived by anything. Surely a simple alteration spell of his death would be enough to fool them.
After his faked death, Saint Valentine desired anonymity from the Roman Catholic Church, so he sought out help from a few contacts within the Wizardry World where he would assume a new identiy with a new face to boot. Under the name Vincent Valencio, the former Saint Valentine took to a promising land across the Atlantic that would later become what is known in the modern day as America. It was secluded and more importantly, away from those that wished to harm him. There he settled in a cottage and lived his days in peace.
If one was to trace his life down through that funny thing we call time, it would reveal that sometime after he settled and in the year of 2014, he had a family and the tree of the Valencio name sprouted. Only, that it wasn’t actually the Valencio as he would have preferred. Over the years, the name went through several different changes of names until a few generations ago, the name reverted back to its roots after a certain wizard by the name of Vincent Alistair found the origins of his family’s ancestry and traced it to the Saint Valentine of Rome. After meeting the now aged Saint, he became fuelled by rage that his ancestor would deceive everyone like that. After murdering the former Saint of Rome, the name of Valentine came back to the family once more.
Ever since that day, the Valencio’s became known as the Valentines. And since that day, their name became one to be reckoned with in the Wizardry World. They soon became known as one of the most prominent as well as wealthy - and equally as ruthless - families. They even rivaled the Malfoy’s of England.
The current head of the Valentine family, Fabio Vincent Valentine, is the father to fiveValentine children, the second youngest being one Carlo Dion Valentine(only by five minutes ahead of his twin sister), a student at the Salem Witches’ Institute. The young Carlo was groomed from the very start to appeal to people a certain way, speak to them a certain way, and always show good manners. There was never a moment where Carlo was allowed to speak out of turn when it came to social gatherings at the Valentine Estate, even less when visiting other places. Only because of Carlo’s heritage was he forced to attend the Salem Witches’ Institute. He didn’t want to, but as it was tradition for the Valentines, he had to.
Six years he had been there and Carlo has never once gotten a word of congratulations from his father. Even though his mother, Bianca Valentine, had her ways of showing her love for what her son has done, she hardly showed it in front of others due to the strictness that his father puts on him. Regardless, Carlo never once acted out towards his teachers - well, that is until maybe his forth or fifth year where he garnered himself a large popularity. In truth, due to who he was and how he looked, Carlo became really popular with the ladies and even took part in Quiddish when he was in those years. However, he has long since given that up due to reasons unknown. Some say that he was forced to and some say that he simply lost interest. Whatever the reason, it was a damn shame since Carlo was one of the best beaters that SWI has known.
F A M I L Y
For some odd reason, all of those who have blood directly descended from the Saint Valentine of Rome have all been born on February 14th, which is ironically Valentine‘s Day, named after said saint.
The
main Valentine Estate is located within The Golden Triangle Neighborhood of Greenwich, Connecticut.
It’s mainly a Wizard-only neighborhood with the exception of a few muggle and halfblood families in residence. The Valentines look over that since all of the families are from the upper-class and above of financial and social standing. The Valentine Estate is the largest - and richest - estate in the neighborhood. It is known for holding the most extravagant parties during the winter and summer breaks, especially if the children are home. Though, most of the social gatherings happen while they are away for school.
The Valentine wealth comes from a number of questionable activities as they have been the center of a lot of controversy of importing nigh-illegal goods from all over the world. Though none of it has been proven, it still has been questioned by the Republic of Magic.

Described as firm, but still loving. She is probably the reason why the Valentine children have love in their hearts. Being the first born, Pablo definitely takes after his father the most. He has just as much strictness in him as his father has and is just as much of a hardass like Fabio. Completely separate from her family’s semi-legal operations, Adrianna chose to not even take part in her family’s business. Instead - and much against her father and mother’s wish - chose to live among the muggles as she teaches Film Study at NYU. She tries to maintain a relationship with her family, but they haven’t returned her olive branch. Well, that is aside from her youngest brother, Carlo, who has a rather close bond to her. Though a bit wild, Cassie has been given the opportunity by her parents to redeem herself in their image by giving her a job at the family business. She is described as that kind of person that doesn’t really like being told what to do and usually acts out just to spite her parents. This, obviously, isn’t something that they like - especially her father due to the way that he is. Given to him by his oldest sister, Adrianna, Tomers is a Toyger breed. Usually that type of breed of cats come in a more orange and black color scheme. However, Tomers isn’t like the usual type of Toyger breed. Everything about him is unusual from his fur color to how he supposedly has hints of magical prowess. Carlo was told that when he first got Tomers. At the time, he believed it, which was why Carlo protected Tomers with all that he could. However, as he soon learned, it was just some selling tactic that the store owner tried - and it worked. Regardless of that, however, Carlo loves his Tomers, even though the cat can sometimes be a bit of a handful since he is very lazy and doesn’t like to play when Carlo wanted to.
Carlo learned that, over the years of owning Tomers, that his lazy and stubborn cat loves to be in front of a camera. He has no idea why Tomers does, but for whatever reason, he will do all that he can to get in front of a camera even if it’s getting in the way of news casts or other people’s vision. One time when Carlo tried to remove Tomers away from being in front of a camera, the damned cat snapped at him so hard that Carlo nearly lost his right index finger due to it.
Again, Carlo loves his cat, but he’s a real dick sometimes.
