In Depth Appearance:
Dustyn stands very petite at five foot two and weighing less than one hundred and fifteen pounds. Closer to one hundred during her months of "I'm trying hard to cut back man.." which is a nice way of putting: not drinking alcohol and eating fast food every night. She has a head full of naturally curly light brown hair, that she keeps long and often leaves down. Her eyes are a very light grey which can appear to be more of a blue tint when in the proper lighting. Dustyn enjoys being dolled up, but doesn't put too much effort in to her appearance. She enjoys lipsticks, eyeliners, and eye shadows when appropriate. Her body is littered with many scars and often bruises from her escapades of the past and present. She has yet to get a tattoo, but would love to get a thigh piece one of these days when she comes across the money and the right artwork. Her ears are pierced in several places, mostly done in the bathroom of friend's dorm rooms and very uneven. 

Another hole is just another hole after all.

Clothing Style:
Comfort with a splash of grunge. Dustyn is always seen in some type of denim, whether it be skinnies or daisy dukes- she has jeans on. Not too picky with whatever her top is, as long as it doesn't smell too bad from the last time she washed it. Tends to not wear a purse or any type of bag with her, so don't be surprised if she asks you to place her stuff in your pockets or your own bag. Wears accessories often, but nothing worth more than a couple dollars. Wears a watch sometimes, but the battery has long been dead.

Dustyn is someone that would see you eating lunch by yourself and not hesitate to walk over and keep you company. Granted, she might sit down and end up eating half of your sandwich while she explains to you why she thinks it'd be a good idea for you to go to the movies with her that night to see some new slasher flick- but she means well. She is not dumb, but can often appear air-headed and aloof based on her social activities and her tendency to go off on a tangent of something that she is passionate about or something that didn't really happen (ie: don't ask about her morgan freeman story). Dusty wants the best for everyone and herself, she just doesn't know how to go about it just yet. 

Background:
Dustyn was conceived in Las Vegas, Nevada. Her parents had both been on their honeymoon with their spouses and ended up banging each other's brains out behind Caesar's Palace, or was it a Little Caesar's pizza? Either way, the two lovebirds had put their last relationships in the past and began the whirlwind that was Dionysus and Kimberly. A couple years had gone by but as soon as the big P word slipped from doctor's mouth, Dustyn's father had said he had other places to be- and thanks for the good time, it was fun. He even left a "Get well soon" card on the dresser, with about twelve dollars in singles.

Kimberly now was dumbfounded, pregnant, and all alone. She decided to leave sin city and try to find a better life in Salt Lake City, Utah. She didn't find any greener grass, but when Dustyn was born she did find out what happiness was again. The two lived in a small trailer park, growing up together and experiencing what life had to offer without many material goods. Though Dusty didn't live a glamorous life, she learned early on how much value there was in a strong family, true friends, and a good time.

As Dustyn grew into the age where teenagers start to experiment with smoking, drinking, and other questionable activities the signs of being not normal were coming into view. As her friends around her got buzzed after a couple cans of beer- Dustyn was struggling to find where the fun was in all of this. She took to greater lengths, pushing more and more to try to experience that feeling. It worried her mother, and not before long the talk of something being not quite right was exchanged. 

Soon after at around the age of fifteen Dustyn was sent to Olympus Academy where she grew into the woman she has become now. Learning about her heritage and what it meant to demigod and why she was different from her childhood friends that she had left behind. Olympus Academy had been her home for a little more than six years, and she continues to grow into the woman that she hopes will make her mom proud.

Relationship With Godly Parent:
"Dionysus represented those who do not belong to conventional society and thus symbolizes everything which is chaotic, dangerous and unexpected" Dustyn hasn't had much of a relationship with her father, he swept into her and her mother's life and brought a lot of fun and excitement and then left as quickly as he had came. She has a bit of resentment towards him, blaming him for her failed relationships with guys who we're just in it for some fun. When the two get together, they can tell they share very similar personalities but Dustyn's father didn't want to ever grow up, while she on the other hand- had that deep down urge to settle down one day.

Godly Abilities:
Dustyn has the ability to take large amount of alcoholic drinks without feeling much of a buzz. This tends to make her a bit of the "crazy" girl when it comes to parties. She is not immune, but it takes a bit more to get her feeling anything. Another party trick Dusty has up her sleeve is the ability to name the contents of all drinks just by taking a taste. Don't try to take a piss her coffee, she will find out, and she will fight you.

In Depth Appearance:
Slightly above average height. Rebekah is striking in a decidedly understated manner. Much less understated is her exceptionally long black hair, frequently worn back in a ponytail (equestrian quips are uttered at one’s own risk) to keep it out of her way. Her complexion is a little shy of pale, as though she doesn’t spend as much time in the sun as some, but still more than others. Her eyes, on the other hand, are a blue gray. So gray, in fact, they strain what would normally be considered possible. Inheritance from her godly parent, if one had to guess. The color has been called ‘unnerving’ by those on the wrong end of her ire, and ‘intense’ by those who perceive her usual demeanor. A demeanor that generally leaves her expression stoic; mouth set in a neutral line, with her eyes focused intently on her latest project.

Clothing Style:
The specific reason for Rebekah’s understated appearance, in large part, would be her I-don’t-really-care-chic sense of fashion. She’s internally consistent in her choices, but she doesn’t care much about how she dresses. Jeans, a t-shirt, and a hoodie work as well as jeans, a shirt, and a sweater. For any and all occasions short of an event explicitly labeled “formal”, in fact. Sometimes her shirt will near a witticism or reference, other times it will be a solid color. Colors, however, generally tend towards the darker/bluer end of the spectrum. With a few notable exceptions, most will be some shade of blue, purple, green, black or gray. Footwear is strictly functional; sneakers.

When it comes to bags, however, there are to be no compromises. Messenger style only, with a primary compartment suitable for carrying multiples books in addition to a 17” laptop. And on top of all of that, any chargers or notebooks she happens to be carrying. A small pocket for blue light-negating tinted glasses is a must, in the event of extended work time on the go.

Quirks/Oddities/Habits
Projects. Completely separate from any work assigned to her, Rebekah will invariably have between one and half a dozen projects going on the side, ranging from research to invention.
Multitasking. Specifically, full attention during a conversation is quite uncommon. Rebekah generally multitasks at all times, so the lack of full attentiveness can be mistaken for dismissiveness.
Keeping her hands busy. The more focused she is, the more likely she is to be twirling a few strands of her hair, spinning a pen, or otherwise fiddling with whatever object is close to hand.
Thinking out loud. This can sometimes be as simple as a few words muttered under her breath here and there, or as involved as explaining her entire thought process to whatever audience stand-in she has so as to better understand it herself.
Heavy caffeine and caloric intake. In order to keep up with the amount of calories her speed burns, Rebekah tends to eat quite a lot of food when she finally sits down to eat. Coffee is consumed in large amounts as well, to keep her awake long enough to keep working on whatever project is holding her attention.

Rebekah Cross is a firm believer in speaking only when she has something to say. Small talk for small talk’s sake simply fills a void that rarely needs filling. Idle chatter is neither informative nor purposeful, so she rarely indulges. Her quiet nature, however, belies a mind that never stops working. She never stops thinking, no matter the time of day, about whatever has her attention at that particular moment. Most people… Are very much a distraction. Idle chatter is the name of the game for many, and given that she doesn’t play ball, she can come across as very detached. Not quite antisocial, but definitely introverted.

If one manages to get in her good books, however, they’ve earned a long-term friend. One that, to the shock of many, doesn’t really stop talking. Long diatribes are a firm indicator, unbeknownst to many, that she actually cares enough to tell you what she’s thinking.

Background:
Athena has never been quite like the other Gods or Goddesses. What attracts many is meaningless in her eyes, while what is meaningless to many is meaningful. As a Goddess of Wisdom, she is attracted by exactly that. Wisdom. Which goes a long way to explaining why she was drawn to a small-time author in the American Southwest. Their relationship wasn’t very long, but it was long enough for Rebekah to be conceived. They parted on very pleasant terms; part of wisdom is knowing when something won’t work, and expecting a relationship with an immortal Goddess to last is definitely on that list. That isn’t to say, however, that they ceased all contact; unlike some of her siblings, Athena stopped in from time to time to see her daughter. Advise Rebekah’s father on his writing career when he was out of ideas, as well. She isn’t the Goddess of Inspiration for nothing.

Nor was Rebekah her daughter for nothing. She showed an exceptional intelligence from a very early age, and worked out for herself (long before her father was ready to tell her) that her mother wasn’t quite normal. Both parents gave her the full explanation when she was barely in her teens. If anything the knowledge made her more driven. She was a high school graduate by sixteen, and taking classes at the local university by seventeen. Despite offers of admission from more prestigious schools, supporting her attendance financially wasn’t a possibility. Not right away, at least. She intended (and intends) to transfer schools in order to finish her degree, but Olympus Academy is another step on the road before she does. She took a break from university courses on her mother’s suggestion, recognizing that while she could learn normal subjects with ease whenever she wanted, the understanding of her heritage that the Academy offered couldn’t be found elsewhere.

Relationship With Godly Parent:
Friendly, though not necessarily all that close. Athena made an effort to be around during her daughter’s life, at least from time to time, but her very nature made it impossible to really be Rebekah’s mother. They’ve been closer since Rebekah learned of her real nature, but Athena is still more of a semi-maternal adviser to her than a family member. Whether this is exactly as she would like it, or if she would like something closer, is a piece of knowledge kept close to Rebekah’s chest.

Godly Abilities:
She Who Knows Herself: Fitting for the daughter of Athena, Rebekah is blessed with the ability to analyze and understand that which she sees. Be it magic, technology, or somewhere in between she can fathom its inner mechanics and principles. In simple terms, if she sees it, she can understand what makes it tick.
Ancient’s Memory: More mundanely, Rebekah has a nearly perfect memory. What she sees, hears, feels, tastes, thinks or smells; she can remember all of it with perfect clarity.
Hippeia: Rebekah is exceptionally fleet-footed; supernaturally so. Athena was worshipped under the title Hippeia, ‘of the horses’, for her invention of the chariot. From this aspect her daughter derives her godly speed and sure-footedness.
Promachos: The First Fighter. She who fights in front. Though best remembered as a Goddess of Wisdom, Athena was a Goddess of Strategy, as well. Specifically embodying strength, the strategy of war, and justice. In this way she is as much a martial a figure as she is a wise one. From this her daughter inherited the ability to win her fights not through brute strength, but through preparation. With the proper understanding of her needs she can craft a tool, provided there is some kind of material at hand, and imbue it the properties she needs at that moment. As a Goddess of Strategy, known her her invention, Athena’s parentage permits Rebekah whatever tool or weapon she requires; provided she has the wisdom to understand her needs, that is.
