Do you think the reason Jesus Christ doesn't rise again is because we keep putting up crosses and he gets flashbacks on how that went last time?

I will never show empathy for a bigot or a man who believed empathy is a made up term. Simple as that.

As Emiri had told the tale of this scholar, Wesley had to admit that he was just a bit intrigued by it. No matter how spooky it might've seemed or how absurd it sounded, in this world and the things that they had bore witness to, Wesley would be a fool to deny these things to be true. One thing he knew, however, was that Grant didn't want things like this to be true. Even before Emiri had stated he wasn't that fond of ghost stories, he could tell the anxiety that his soon to be uncle-in-law feared the moment Emiri would use the fabled 'we should split up' suggestion. In many horror tales that the servants would tell the kids, that was a common phrase used.

And, as soon as Emiri said it, Grant would protest without a moment's hesitation. That would result in Wesley letting out a low chuckle. "There is nothing to fear, Grant. I'm almost positive that what Emiri said isn't the truth. That tale, whilst convincing, is one I've heard as well..at least, a version of it." He didn't actually believe that, but for Grant's sake, he'd put on a convincing face for him. "It's a big library, though, so we'd benefit from taking a different section. If we do run into trouble, just use the mental link established by the Word and our Espers. Or, just meet at the central pillar where all sections meet." Wesley said, giving Grant a nod.

"You both are utterly useless." Savayna let out a disappointed sigh. Though, as she would exchange her glance from their rather curious, hopeful ones to the sight of the spear, she did wonder about that same thing. High as it was and easy as retrieving it would also be, a good point was raised about how something that valuable being so high wouldn't have some kind of countermeasure in play. "Perhaps, we should formulate a plan before we--" Savayna was inturrupted mid-thought as Jaakuna would start climbing up the rack, using the secured weapons as steps "--what are you doing?" She asked Jaakuna.

"I'm climbing - what does it look like I'm doing?"

She shook her head. "I can see that, you idiot. I mean, why are you doing that without us deciding on it?"

Jaakuna was about halfway up the rack. He stopped, looked down at Savayna and Nadeline. He gave them a thumbs up, climbing more. and though Savayna was worried for him, she had to admit that his climbing speed was rather impressive.

After a few moments, Jaakuna had reached the top. He was just a few steps away from the spear and it only occurred to Savayna that he was rather high. He was at least three stories from the ground. The thought of something bad happening to him the minute he touched the spear came to her. She couldn't explain it, but there was something in her gut that just knew there would be some sort of trouble coming their way as soon as he touched the spear.

And, as his right hand made physical contact with it, for a moment, Savayna thought that maybe she was being just a bit too paranoid.

"Hey, look! I have it!" Jaakuna exclaimed, pulling it off of its surprisingly unsecure latching.

And as soon a sJaakuna did, an alarming noise went off that sent a pulse of mist to latch onto JAakuna's limbs, suspending him in the air. He tried to wiggle himself free of it, but the more he did, the tighter the mist had restrained him and had banged him against the steel racks; each time was harder than the last.

"A little help ple--ow--ase!"

They had travelled so many leagues with each other. Whether it was at a high velocity in the Ifrit or on the roads of Ivalice, the group had always been together in some capacity. Never were they without each other and never were they far from one another. Even if continents separated them, there was always this fabric in the air that connected them through the bonds they had formed. It was an inseparable bond that, unlike most, would last a lifetime.

And yet, as Wesley had often glanced at both Emiri and Grant, he felt like this was a brand new adventure. He had went on voyages with them, sure, but it was always with the other three alongside them. This was perhaps the first time that he had actually went on a separate expedition with Grant and Emiri only. Usually, the two were with Savayna and Jaakuna respectively, so it was a bit of a surreal moment for the Dalmascan King-to-be. Part of him obviously missed his beloved, but there was this other part of him - the adventurous part within his soul - that was absolutely adoring this new experience. It not only gave him what could be his final chance to spread his wings before settling into his role as king, but, at the least, he’d be able to get closer to Emiri in ways he hadn’t been able to.

So he was now fully-committed to this little exploration that all of them were indulging in. whcih, as they came to a waystone that seemed to have a variety of selections, Wesley’s eyes lit up much like how Nadeline’s would’ve if she saw all of the options. “How intriguing,” Wesley mused, leaning forward as he moved closer to the waystone. He did his best not to touch it, but that didn’t stop him from inspecting it as close as he could without activating it. “It appears these inscriptions are lead to several different areas.” Wesley mused, looking at each, though, through his natural curiosity, he happened upon the seventh one.

As he would go to read it, Emiri had seemed to activate it before he could, thus revealing its words to her. When she spoke about what it said, it was a library. WEsley, at that moment, found this too ironic. Nadelien would’ve killed for this finding. And yet, as Wesley looked at the other two, he couldn’t help but also be curious about this library. As intriguing as the other sections were, the library had appealed to him most. Though, when he thought about it a bit more, perhaps what Emiri said was the truth and that it was only a viable option for members of Utena. And as far as Wesley could remember, neither Wesley nor Emiri nor Grant were part of Utena’s ranks.

“I suppose we’ll have to find something else to explore.” Wesley said with regret.

As he walked away from the waystone, by a complete accident, he touched the edge of it. Though it wasn’t his intention, the stone would glow brightly, surrounding the three in its light. Before either of them realized it, they had been transported into a dark room that, as soon as Wesley had turned around, trying to gain a perspective as to where they had been transported to, light suddenly illuminated from the darkness, revealing towering shelves of books.

“Well, I suppose that’s one way to travel.” Wesley admitted, laughing somewhat absentmindedly. His eyes had wandered from the gaze of Grant and Emiri and in circles at the many shelves. Among the awe he was feeling, there was also a newly-found shock as he noticed there wasn’t a single member of Utena in sight. “That’s weird, it seems we’re alone here.”

What a time it was to be alive. Jaakuna had no idea what sort of adventure that Emiri and the others were having, but there was quite the sight to behold as he, Savayna, and Nadeline, the three of the group that were the most likely to get into trouble, had, as Nadeline blurted out perfectly, hit the jackpot. In front of them, as it was obvious to all three blondes, all along the walls from the ground that they had their feet planted on to the ceiling, weapons of all kinds rest upon racks. There were all kinds from swords to daggers to bows and crossbows; guns and bombs; lances and spears. All of them were arranged by their type, size, and..and..

“Wait a minute..” Jaakuna approached it, “no fucking way!”

“What?”

“Nadeline, come here!” JAakuna practically dragged her by her lanky wrist. “Up there at the top. Isn’t that the Zodiac Spear?” He asked. His eyes had lit up with such a sparkle that Jaakuna was going back and forth, looking at all of the weapons.

Meanwhile, Savayna couldn’t do much but just roll her eyes, though she leaned to Nadeline. “I swear, any time he gets near shiny toys, he’s like a freaking child.” She said, sighing, “should we do something?”

“It’s best to start young,” Elijah commented, leaning somewhat closer to Heather so that she would light up the cigarette in his mouth.

As he had inhaled slowly, breathing in that addictive smoke and letting it naturally(albeit slowly) flow out of his mouth, he remained relaxed as he saw the garden in front of him. Even with the limited lighting that it had from the lamp posts spread throughout and the partial sunlight the sun was giving due to it being mostly cloudy, it presented a nice atmosphere for the perfect smoke break. Odds were that Eli wouldn’t be able to relax like he was once he went back inside, so he was savoring this moment.

And it didn’t hurt to have an aesthetically-pleasing woman as company.

He took just a few more moments to enjoy what was in his hand, though as he had turned his head a slight turn, he was just now noticing her. Long, dark locks cascaded down her neck and shoulders that only put a spotlight on her slightly-tanned skin. Something about the way the fluorescent light had shown on her face at just the exact moment she had turned to face him, which as probably an instinctual reaction to him glancing at her whilst she was facing a quarter of the opposite direction. Whichever it was, despite her now looking at him, Eli didn’t utilize a common technique that most would avoid eye contact.

That simply wasn’t his speed. He kept his gaze, even offering her a smirk. As much as he didn’t like to admit it, he was indeed a Mossos. The flirtatious gene coursed through his veins as much as it had with Alexandros and even Georgie, though the latter wasn’t of the same variety that Eli and Alex seemed to be.

“You don’t seem to be as uptight as the rest of the Huntsberg clan.” Elijah offered up his observation about Heather. “Or you could be really good at hiding it.” He let that thought consume his mind for a moment. When he did, it didn’t make sense for her to be out here alone if she truly was faking the disgust about how upbeat the rest of her family was.

Alexandros literally heard little to nothing Audrey had said for the past five minutes. His ears were still trying to regain their hearing back after what initially sounded like a cat trying to sing over nails on a chalkboard. However, only was it that he saw Audrey moved her lips in response that he had put two and two together. That supposed screeching cat had to have been someone of her family. As for who it might’ve been, Alex didn’t know. All he knew was that she did seem to look like Audrey. There was a slight resemblance, so maybe it was a cousin or some other kind of distant relative.

After the exchange between the two of them seemed to end and Alexandros had since regained his hearing back(he didn’t actually lose it but the shock of that human screecher sure made it seem like he did), he had since then got out of Audrey’s bed and got dressed. It was at the perfect time too, since Audrey had done so herself. The entire time, they were looking at each other. The temptation to forget everyone downstairs and just barricade themselves in the room was an all-time high, but Alexandros knew better than anyone else to leave a bad taste in the hosts of a party he was attending. Besides, he couldn’t disappoint his girlfriend’s family, now could he?

“There’s always be more time for that,” he said, winking suggestively towards Audrey.

Just moments later, as the loud, screechy voice of whom Audrey had informed Alexandros was her cousin, Delilah, had gone room to room, informing all that dinner was about to start. Well, it wasn’t ready this moment, but those who were elsewhere, be it in the bathroom, back patio like Elijah was, or just not in the dining room, that little chipmunk of a woman sounded like Alvin from ALvin and the Chipmunks and moved like a cheetah traversing through the savannah. It was only when she had seemed to gather all from their desired locations, who all were emulating each other and were digging into their ears, doubtless checking to see if their hearing was still in check.

“She does this often, doesn’t she?” Alexandros commented lowly as he and Audrey rejoined the party in the foyer, to which he saw the rest of his family. The entire bunch had waved at the couple minus Eli, though he did give them a slight nod.
