Do you think the reason Jesus Christ doesn't rise again is because we keep putting up crosses and he gets flashbacks on how that went last time?

I will never show empathy for a bigot or a man who believed empathy is a made up term. Simple as that.

Tbh, this thread has run its course. Serves no purpose to leave it unlocked.
@Ruby If only there was someone who could do that...

Leave it to the Guild to veer a thread complaining about gender restrictions in 1x1 interest checks into the topic of grammar.

Contrary to what Jaakuna thought was going to happen, not a single member of the team had followed the Uchiha girl when she took off in a startling sprint. Instead, they had remained where they were at what served as both entrance and exit to the village via the west side.

And among the rather blunt confusion upon all of their faces, Jaakuna shrugged to Kiku as she both apologized for what happened at the Forest of Death before the bad guys had shown up and what to do with the uchiha girl. She was doubtless heading in the right direction, so whether this young gal was part of the assigned team or not was of no consequence. Uchihas were known for being extremely gifted. Say what you want about their personality traits, when it came to battle, they were more skilled than the average shinobi that was thanks in large part to their natural intuition and sharingan.

Yet, Jaakuna found himself sharing the worries that Kiku expressed. Even so, what mattered most was that they had a solid team that had a lot of beneficial members who would contribute immensely to the team. And, if one of them were to fuck up, the others would pick up the slack. It’s a win-win situation.

“I think the last one there is a rotten egg!” Jaakuna chuckled at the rest of his team as he took off in a sprint in the same direction that the young Uchiha girl did. If he kept up his pace(and assuming the rest of his team followed him) they may win the race.

Or not.

What mattered most to Jaakuna right now was that he was in first place and he was going at a lightning-fast pace.

@Dynamo Frokane There's a first time for everything.
Though the journey through the void had only amassed about a minute on the outside world, inside it, the time that had elapsed was closer to an hour. Moving more than himself across long distances was never what Michel’s travelling method was meant for. He could take him and Meli from one corner of Archadia to the other with little problem. That was because the two of them were on the same wavelength and the city was built on the ground, so, of course, it didn’t pose any difficulty for him, but moving several people at once was a lot more difficult for him, especially now that he had less-than-optimal control over his Void Seal due to what happened yesterday. Larger groups of people meant a longer time spent in the vastness of the void.

And it most certainly didn’t help his concentration that Ivy and Meli were at each other’s throats the entire time whilst in the void, nevermind the fact that about a dozen others who had been Ivy’s Thorns were behind them, whispering to themselves. No, this wasn’t an ideal situation — not even in the slightest. However, Michel had to deal with it. But the Gods sure were testing his patience.

After a while, Michelangelo had simply used Shemhazai’s special powers within the void to block out the noise coming from both of them so he didn’t have to hear either of them retort nastily towards the other. It would allow him the time to concentrate more on finding the quickest route through the void and to Bhujerba.

Several minutes would pass as they kept going through the naught before Michel’s body had begun to emit a bright, purple light. His aura activated. The white and black void had suddenly split apart, the colors of Michel’s portals surrounding the rip in space and the group of Utena Flowers stepped through it, thus signalling their arrival into the Sky City of Bhujerba. To make sure that they kept absolute secrecy, however, their arrival was within the Lhusu Mines, though, they weren’t deep within the mines. They were only a few dozen paces from the entrence.

“Why bring us here, Lord Chamomile?” One of the Utena soldiers asked.

Michel turned around, his smokey eyes scanning all twelve of the Utena soldiers who had all parts of their bodies covered except for their eyes that varied in color. “The Lhusu Mines are barely frequented by the locals. It is only operated by those who work for it, but ever since it was deemed as an unsafe working environment by then-Marquis Roman Darcone, it was shut down until conditions improved.” Michel informed the soldier who inquired about the reason for being in the mines.

“Of course that makes it a perfect base of operations.” Ivy added, giving Michel a sweet smile whilst giving a smug-like expression towards Meli’s way.

Michel simply ignored that and would focus more on the task they were given by Shion. “Our Mistress has given us our mission: to find any abnormalities within the air. You are the best we have at gathering information and sensing such things. Now go!”

The lot looked at Michel, then to Ivy, the one whose command they were normally under. “You heard the Chamomile. Go!”

“Yes, Lady Pink Rose!” After saluting her by placing their hands over their hearts, the twelve were gone from sight, leaving the trio alone in the mines.

“While the grunts go out and foolishly attend to a uesless task, we can discuss what we’re really going to do.” Michel said, looking to the two ladies.

“What do you mean useless task?”

“Do you honestly think those grunts will actually be able to sense the Creature?”

Ivy seemed confused, “what does that even mean, Michey?”

“Can you not sense it?”

“Sense what--”

After a moment, Ivy’s usually smug face went to one of shock and horror. “You don’t mean…”

“It’s here.” Michel faced the opposite direction to where his body had turned towards deep into the mines. “The Creature dwells deep in the Lhusu Mines.”
@DeadDrop you said men liking men is okay. :<

I wanted to comment.

:(
@DeadDropI'll have ya know, I'm an out, bisexual male who likes men just as much as he likes women.
<Snipped quote by Altered Tundra>

In other words "I'm not saying it's okay to discriminate, I'm just saying it's okay to discriminate".

At the risk of being the one who sounds like a broken record "being uncomfortable" with RPing with a certain gender is NOT an excuse. "Being uncomfortable" is a reason people give that sounds better than the real reason they don't want a certain gender partner. I think my favourite part about this conversation so far is the steadfast inability of people to volunteer a real reason.

You're uncomfortable because...why? Because you're a dude and you don't like the idea of doing sexy RPs with another dude? This is some subtle way of adding #NOHOMO to your list of rules? Or is it because you genuinely don't think a female is capable of playing a male character (or vice versa)? That's not an excuse either, because now you're making assumptions about my abilities without even knowing me.

Would it be okay to add these to my preferences:

-No black or brown people, I'm only "comfortable" writing with white people. (Read: I'm racist and if you Skype call me my Nazi flag will be on the wall behind me.)
-No fags/lesbos. (Read: Sorry, I can't risk sexy times with characters played by non-straights because I need to know there's a possibility your jollies are getting off on our RP.)
- No Muslims or Jews. (Read: Once again, I'm racist and also a bigot.)
- No cripples or spazoid autistics. (Read: I'm an ableist fuck who can't handle the thought of my RP partner being neuro-divergent or blind or in a wheelchair or something.)
- No fatties. (Read: This actually matters somehow because I just hate fat people.)

Did you like all of those? Then why is "Male partners only" or "No dudes" okay?

-No dudes. (Read: Because I'm a dude and I don't want to think that my dick is smaller than yours.) <- This is pretty much what I put in the blank when I see people say "I'm uncomfortable with writing with other men."

((This also brings up an interesting point. Why is it only straight people who do this? I have never met a gay guy on here who was like 'No, I don't want to write with chicks for my MxM plot' or a lesbian who was all 'No, a guy can't write a F for my FxF'. Straight people, get your shit together.))

@Altered Tundra
I think you're being deliberately obtuse here. This argument isn't about whether people are breaking the rules of the forum by listing these restrictions in their Interest Checks. This isn't about whether or not people are physically able to be sexist on the forum. Of course they CAN do that. This argument is about whether or not that's morally acceptable. "Freedom of Speech" does not equal "freedom from consequences". Lol

You sound like one of those people who apologizes for and excuses Nazis who start spouting their hateful bile in crowded parks or street corners. This isn't about "freedom of speech". This isn't a request for the Mods to start banning these assholes. This is hopefully a wake-up call for the people who have been doing it so that they realize that they are inflicting their personal hangups onto others. This is hopefully a moment where people can do some soul-searching that will end up with them being better RPers/writers over all.

"People are uncomfortable with writing with certain genders because _______________________ "

I think Nemaisaire is the only one who gave a somewhat halfway reasonable excuse in that maybe someone who is a chick who has a real life dude partner might not want to RP with other dudes because their real life partner would get jealous, which isn't sexism on the RPers part, just some enabling of sexism in their real life partner. (And they should totally get out of that relationship because WTF!)

Fill in the blank. This is your homework assignment.

Fine, maybe using the term "uncomfortable" was the wrong choice of words, but I will not apologize with everything else this thread has implied about those who seek out writers of the opposite sex/gender. No, I'm not talking about the smutters. I don't need to touch on that since it's pretty obvious why they go for the opposite sex/gender for ERPs. I'm talking about those who are serious writers that just so happen to have an affilation for RPing with said sex/gender. They are the ones who, through no fault of their own, are being blacklisted simply because they made a choice. Much like everyone in this thread, we all make choices.

But honestly, you know what really gets me about the above? You saying my earlier comments make me sound like some racist, homophobic, Nazi-sympathizer.

Truth be told, I am not one of those people who exclusively stick to one gender. I don't give two flying shits if you are male, female, or whatever other gender is out there in the known world. Fact of the matter is that, if you aren't a dick and we can click, then the odds of me writing with you are high. Now that being said, a majority of my current partners are female. And I am male(as in my birth sex and gender identity). Does that automatically make me the bad guy here, then? Am I in the wrong for having female partners? No, I am not. And it's the same for anyone who has voiced any opinions in this thread either way. None of you are wrong. Everything you have said and will say in the future about this topic is worth being heard. Disagree or not, that is your right, but more importantly, you choose to state those opinions.

Whcih brings me back to what I originally said that seemed to be taken the wrong way.

These people who don't seek romantic/sexual relationships through the art of online seduction that just so happen to prefer the opposite sex for whatever reasons that they could disclose to the public(should they choose to) is, at the end of the day, their choice.

Also, you say that, and I quote: "This is hopefully a moment where people can do some soul-searching that will end up with them being better RPers/writers over all."

That to me sounds a bit harsh. You're pretty much saying that people who exclusively RP with the opposing gender can't find good partners and that they just have to rp with the same gender to be in the clear of getting quality RP material. That's making an assumption without knowing them either.

and that's all I wanted to say. Respond or don't, ball's in your court.
