The trouble in Ricky’s life could be traced back to the day they decided that they were capable of caring for a child.

So in 2002, Ricky was brought into a world that didn’t take long at all to show that he came second nature to his parents and their addictions. For the first couple of years, it wasn’t so bad because according to his aunt when he would sometimes ask, Emily and Doug tried. They really did, but their sickness became too much. By the time Ricky was seven years old, his parents often neglected him in a lot of ways and it started out small. First, they would forget to pick him up from school on time or drop him off on time, but then it escalated. There were times he had to walk a mile to school alone. He was lucky that most of everyone in the neighborhood he grew up in loved and adored him, so nobody tried anything. Despite this, the neglection continued until the day came when Ricky tried to say something.

And that’s when emotional abuse and neglect faded while physical abuse took its place. Anytime that he caused an inconvenience or didn’t do something that Douglas approved of, Ricky got his ass beat; and as their only child, there was no younger sibling to protect, no older sibling to protect him, or no mother of his coming to his rescue. At the beginning, Ricky had a hard time adjusting to a new school and being in a new home, but with time, he came to accept this as his life. The news of his parents going away for seven years wasn’t great to hear. Now seventeen, a nearly-grown Ricky Quinn couldn’t be happier -- well, whatever happy was for him. He was a little moody, if not crabby about a lot of things. But what? He showed good vibes up until a few weeks ago. 🌀 Ricky was diagnosed with Antisocial Personality Disorder when he was fifteen and moderate Bipolar Disorder when he was sixteen. As a result, he spent the better part of the summer of 2018 in psychewards due to a trigger of his parents' parole hearing happening at the height of the summer of that same year (they were denied.)

🌀 Due to his violent nature and excessive energy as a kid, Ricky has been in contact sports since he was 12. He currently plays wrestling and football.

🌀 Ricky has been doing Boxing for since he was thirteen.

🌀 Ricky is a member of an all-white, anarchist gang known as Southcentral Saints and has been since he was fourteen.

🌀 Ricky has recurring nightmares of childhood traumas and uses oxycodone to help keep the blackouts to minimal occurrences.

🌀 He has been arrested several times for fights and gang-related activities, but due to his aunt's connections, he has been kept out of juvenile hall, but as of 2019, he has been forced to do community service at the local community center as part of his unofficial agreement with his Aunt Ramona's captain.

🌀 In his free time, Ricky enjoys violent video games and causing a little mayhem for the good old and reliable Columbus Police Department, sometimes forcing his "friends" to partake in some of his own shenanigans.

As much as Zero claimed to be a leader and a man who liked to help out when the impatient woman pressed him on where he might have seen their friend, he froze up in an ironic turn of events. He truly did want to offer up any assistance that might lead them to find their missing friend and he did speak first when he approached them, but for a reason he has yet to grasp, he couldn't find the strength to answer back. It was as though it was sapped the minute this very intimidating woman stepped on every ounce of confidence he had just by looking into his soul.

He was a frost warrior, but her gaze was like a supernova that stripped him of all magic and armor.

Moments before he felt himself from hyperventilating, a friendly companion of thiers (he was assuming) joined the group, addressing the others in a way that gave Zero the impression they all knew each other. This was later confirmed when they acted more than just civil towards each other and the assertive woman whose name Zero didn't know was revealed to be Tessa, which he felt was a fitting name. Simply and to the point, much like her.

His heart rate was starting to calm down and he remained quiet among the reunited friends. He was an outsider, after all. That and he was mostly focused on trying not to say something idiotic or freezing up like the last time he opened his mouth, but this only lasted for a few seconds for the sight of a familiar spear came into view among the crowd. His smile grew wide and he pointed towards her.

"There she is!" Zero excitedly stated, seeing a short redhead join the others with a small group of her own.

The completed reunion only came as a reminder for Zero that he was the new guy. He didn't feel excluded per se, but there was no denying that his presence was not the priority until the spearwoman addressed him among the other newbies.

"Good day, Spearlady!" Zero greeted her with a smile. "I am Verglas Zero. I am a magical knight who specializes in frost. I have traveled as much as I can to take in the land!" In his head, what he just said sounded almost as cool as the element he commanded was.
