Gotta let you guys know, my country's going insane lately. Last two days I've had my electricity rationed for a total of 12 hours each day, going from noon up to early morning in most cases. So if the IC starts and I don't post quickly, you know that I'm being a caveman and smashing rocks with wooden clubs in my apartment.

As of right now I am the only chaotic evil god, and one of the only evil gods. A majority of the gods are neutral which is good and a few are good or lawful so they probably won't like what he does. As such, I have a sense of purpose to bring true terror into the world.

I find that tension will arise naturally whether or not the gods are good or evil, so long as they disagree strongly enough in other ways. And of course, we have a whole other axis of alignment to consider- we have many irreverant chaotic gods, and only a few lawful ones. I feel like things will get interesting the moment they start to disagree.

By the way, I suggest we make a discord server or something for ease of communication , also so we don't clog up this thread with idle chatter and dumb stuff.

Kat heard a noise penetrate the not-silence, one that wasn't just paper on desk, and a few thoughts flashed in fog- 'Well, that should get his attention,' followed by, roughly transcribed, 'Oh fig did I hurt him how did I screw up that badly it was just PAPER I'm an I-'

He missed the shake but caught the dead frown. Keone wanted to leave well alone- who and what, Kat didn't know. Rebecca, Dulac. Keone himself. Something. _{don't think too hard about it.}

Kat sat at his desk, watching the second hand plod and considering whether he should throw another paper ball just to-

Kat looked around with a quickening pulse as the bell finally decided to ring, awareness pulling at the edge of his stupor.

Chester was checking his phone with his back on someone's locker directly outside when Kat escaped Keone's vaguely incriminating hopelessness. The bell was still ringing. Chester didn't give much sign of noticing. "She's just round the corner."

"Thanks. Did she say anything?"

"Yeah, she said that she's a bitch and doesn't need to explain her beef to anyone," said Chester, "they probably had a massive cat fight. I'm not talking to her again. Cafeteria?"

"Yeah, sure," said Kat. "Just hold on, I'm going to ask Rebecca to join us. Maybe she'll have more luck." Rebecca, it was known, was one of the kids who hung out indoors even in the warm summer, in a niche between the maths room (nowhere) and admin (nowhere worth going).

"Sure," said Chester, a little dubiously. Kat's widening vision scanned back to the thought of the basket, carrying less pennies than what it had cost at the corner store. The gym equipment fundraiser got more than that. Why did the gym get more than that? Because Gordon hadn't stood up in front of the class? No one listened to Gordon.

Chester caught him staring into space and elbowed him. "Dude, she's not gonna f-" (needles scratching on the inside of Kat's skull) "-k you. Let's just go."

"Dude, gro-" Blink, and a horrible idea. "Nevermind. Seeya." And Chester said, "whatever dude."

Kat tallied seconds and guilt for the dismissal. Chester didn't come back for his barnacle. His dude. His bro.

What the fngunk is going on? thought Kat, spinning round to tail Rebecca and knowing he'd be able to catch Dulac later if he had to, if he could- No, he wouldn't be asking Rebecca stupid questions. "Hey, Rebecca- sorry for what happened. Do you want to try again somewhere else? You could set up a gofundme, or..."

Besides the most direct use of creating stars to light up the solar system, he'll be using it on a mortal scale for navigation, religious astrology, etc.

Does this mean actual straight-up nuclear orbs or the lights that we see them as from Earth? Gods have been quite heavily nerfed, remember, so the former is probably outside the scope of his power, though we can contrive some exception so long as he doesn't do it anywhere near a populated planet.

There's no bears on Turn 0 Galbar, nor trees nor fruits nor deer, but that doesn't stop us having a bear goddess.

Landmasses at tropical latitudes will exist (see checklist) and wetlands will formally naturally over time as people make plants and those plants spread over the world, but all our creations will be made in character when we get there.

Just a note, continuing from this: there's no reason to assume that the people or wildlife we'll end up with are anything like what's on Earth. You can create any Earth-like ecosystem you want, but you can also make otherworldly environments that will settle right in on Galbar.

For example, you could have an entire coastline where every plant, animal and person is some bizarre form of demon, all existing together in perfect ecological balance. Horned spirits fly in the air, trees of fire grow from the magma pits, and many-eyed monsters graze on them, and it's not any more or any less natural than the lion and the cow in the next continent over.

Things will change over time and go their own way as you might expect them to, so the creatures and magicks of different regions might mix on their own accord, but generally things will work out the way your god wills them to- if they're paying attention, anyway.

The Tale of Ug: How Prestige Works

Post 1: Ug

Ug the Caveman makes a post in which he clubs everyone in his cave. This earns him 2 Prestige.

Post 2: Ug & Ggrr

Eventually Ug's cavemates wake up, leave, and send for someone to sort him out. A Quest is started: evict Ug. (Because quests are public but this quest doesn't really apply to Ug, Ug gains the following counterpart: avoid being evicted.)

Ggrr the Bear takes up this quest.

A fight is collaborated. Ug beats the shit out of Ggrr. Ug and Ggrr each gain 2 Prestige for the post, +2 for collaborating it, and +1 because it was part of the quest. That's 5 Prestige each. Ug now has 7 Prestige, Ggrr has 5.

Ug spends 2 Prestige to gain the title: Ug, who beats the shit out of bears. This commemorates the fact that he has beaten the shit out of a bear.

Ug then levels up this title to level 2 with another 2 Prestige, and to 3 with his remaining 3 Prestige. He's a pretty tough caveman!

Post 3: Ggrr

Dismayed by her loss, Ggrr sets about studying mathematics. She spends 2 Prestige to gain the title: Ggrr, mechanical engineer. She levels it up with another 2 Prestige, to level 2. Ggrr has 1 Prestige remaining.

She hopes to use this skill against Ug! Because the post was written for that purpose, Ggrr gains a bonus +1 Prestige on top of the 2 Prestige for her post, leaving her at 4 total.

Post 4: Ug and Ggrr

Ggrr and Ug meet again. Thanks to Ug's proven ability to beat the shit out of bears, Ggrr is hesitant to face him in open combat.

However, with her newfound engineering prowess, Ggrr has set up an elaborate wooden trap! It's a very large trap that will crash the cave with a landslide. This is a big change! It cost 2 Prestige to make something of such size.

Ggrr taunts Ug and Ug comes out to beat the shit out of her again. Ggrr hastily leaves to operate the trap without getting clubbed. This is very hard for someone with no opposable thumbs! She spends 1 Prestige on the feat.

Ug is subdued! The quest is complete.

Both parties gain 2 Prestige for the post, another 2 for the collab, and another 1 for pursuing their quests. Because Ggrr completed the quest, which lasted 3 turns, she gains an additional +2 Prestige. Ug goes off with 5 Prestige, Ggrr with 8.

Ggrr spends 2 Prestige to give herself the title: Ggrr, trapper of cavemen. She levels up her mechanical engineer title to level 3 for 3 Prestige and changes it to Ggrr, certified mechanical engineer. She has 3 Prestige remaining.

Ug spends 2 Prestige to gain the title: won't be falling for that shit again. He won't be falling for that shit again, and is now not so easy to trap. He has 3 Prestige remaining.

Post 5: Ggrr

Ug's cavemates are pissed that Ggrr has ruined their cave. They want Ggrr to move the rocks out of the way and repay them for their loss. Since this is quite specific and not that major, it doesn't get quest status.

Ggrr spends a post lugging rocks and negotiating with cave people. This takes her time and effort but is will within her capabilities, because, unlike Ug, she's A) a certified mechanical engineer and B) a huge ass bear.

However, Ggrr also builds a bridge over a nearby river to pay the cave folk back for their troubles. Again, this is pretty hard! She spends 2 Prestige on it. The cave folk love her!

Ggrr gains 2 Prestige for the post and remains at 3 Prestige, total.

Non-collaborated posts probably shouldn't go much over 2000-3000 characters.

Collab posts that feel like they're getting long should be broken up into smaller sections.
