Voltaire grew up on the streets of Orario as an orphan, owning almost nothing except for his name. The few possessions he did have growing up were either donated by some charitable indiviual, which was very rare, or he stole from other kids. Needless to say, he sometimes found himself getting into fights which he didn't always win. Worse than the defeat was getting scolded by the Orphanage caretaker when he got home.

Once he was old enough, he would pick up odd jobs in order to make some money for himself. Every morning he would watch the adventurers gather in front of the tower before heading in, his eyes filled with amazement at their equipment and aura. The first purchase he ever made was a wooden training sword which he practiced with every day, pretending to slay ferocious monsters. One day he bumped into a drunk adventurer leaving a tavern and was berated and mocked. The adventurer confiscated his precious wooden sword after declaring that a street urchin like Valtaire would never make it pass floor 1.

Hot tears fell down his face as he tried to fight for it, only to be beaten down again and again. Despite his body aching from the hits, Voltaire now viewed his childhood dream in a different light. It was not enough to pretend. He needed to train so he could be strong enough to join a familia. Every day after that incident for four years he would train his body, going on long-distance runs through the city and performing exercises where he could. He eventually became obsessed with the training, pushing himself more and more each time. That was until at last on a bright, sunny day he passed out.

When he awoke, Voltaire was in a strange building he did not recognize. This was the residence of the Amaterasu familia, and the one who carried him there was none other than Solome. After giving Voltaire some water, He introduced the goddess to him along with the offer to join. Awed by the goddess's beauty coupled with the culmination of years worth of dreaming, he accepted the invitation. Life as an adventurer began right there for him.

𝒫𝑒𝓇𝓈𝑜𝓃𝒶𝓁𝒾𝓉𝓎:

Voltaire as his core is sarcastic, hard-working individual. He is willing to go through anything to become a better adventurer. Life as a poor orphan has made him obsessed with the more luxurious aspects of life. At the same time, he knows how to make the best of the bare minimum of supplies. While he tries to be a decent person, he is not afraid to get his hands dirty.

"For this I give you, children of the lower world. A place to become strong. A place to become the heroes needed to protect your world, born of my own divine power. Struggle. Grow. Find the strength to carve your own path. You will forget me with time but you shall know my love."

Orario. The city of adventurers. At its center is a grand tower and below it lies the source of Orario's prosperity: The Dungeon. Those wishing to seek wealth or power within the dungeon must first join a deity's familia. Ever since the first gods and goddesses decided to join their children of the lower world Orario has become home to many different familias. One such familia belong to the goddess Amaterasu. Early in Orario's history her familia was quite large. As time passed, Her familia grew smaller and smaller as people drifted from the ideals she promoted until only one was left: a loyal adventurer and wise retired adventurer named Solome. Blindness had caused him to stop adventuring in the dungeon but he made it his mission to find new member for his goddess. After finding no luck, He managed to convince two aspiring adventurers to join this once great familia: Koph and Valtaire.

Time will only tell if they can save this familia from ruin but one thing is for sure: there is a lot of work to be done. The dungeon does not take pity on those who squander it. Rumor has even been going around that the dungeon itself seems particularly agitated with strange happenings occurring more often. It is a mystery even the top familias are unable to solve. Nevertheless, Koph and Valtaire must venture into its floors and perhaps in time discover what lies at its deepest level.
Reylan & Alisea

Interacting with:

______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Reylan and Alisea were seated at their spot amidst the numerous tables. He might not always agree with Alisea's point of view but she knew how to dissect a person's intentions like a surgeon...and that was why she was there, that and he trusted her the most. He watched carefully as Aramo took the stage and introduced himself. So this was the guildmaser of the Astral Blades? He thought as Aramo began to speak. All of Talrae? It seemed to him like a good portion of the players were missing from this meeting. Basic laws and guidelines? The game already had that established within the in-game governments, though a support system was a more viable addition.

When the time came to vote to approve this organization, it came all too quickly and all too fast. Reylan had actually been one of the few who raised their hands and despite the pressure from the room, remained true to his vote. It was not that he directly objected to the concept of a player-run government running alongside the game's but this was moving along too quickly and with far too reservations. The next thing said particularly grabbed his attention that confirmed a observation. A whole two-thirds of the players were not here and he wanted to establish the organization BEFORE getting the rest of their votes? Suddenly a bad feeling pooled in his stomach about this whole idea.

"Clever. Using Aramo's special drop item and this rare gathering of essentially everyone in Talrae, Reinor took the opportunity to advertise their guild. The more players who feel indebted to the Imperial Saints, the more power his guild will have."

"We don't have that kind of leverage but I think it would be a mistake to sit here without a word, don't you?"

"It would. Everyone is going to use this chance to claim more power, be it control or wealth. This is a golden opportunity. For example, one entrepreneuring Guild-master might try to establish a private military which would supersede the town guard."

A combined player base would easily be able to take over whatever in-game government there was and in the process create a dangerous split from the rules of the game, which excluding the death part had been fair. The only part of this whole facade that sat right with him was the joint front for clearly floor dungeons. That made the most sense out of everything stated so far. In any case, he could stay silent no longer.

"I have to agree with you on that. I'd rather not be tying our hands and feet just to be part of this. I believe its time I made the Legion of the Wolf's voice heard." With that he stood from his seat "Aramo, I would like to say something." Reylan was done messing around being leader. It was time for him to grow a true spine "My name is Reylan, guildmaster of the Legion of the Wolf. While I'm still in favor of this organization, I have to admit I have my reservations. First off, I don't believe it is a good idea to rush establishing a government without the consent of the other players. A vote based purely on just the guild-masters? That is foolish. Secondly, I must ask how will these 'public finances' be obtained? Finally, who will be in charge of this group? A collective without some kind of speaker is hardly effective at actual decision making." Somehow he already knew Aramo would suggest himself as the figure head.

Desmond nodded in accordance with the plan "As you wish." His voice hid the contempt he had for this creature. He understood well enough that some devils leave their masters for good reason but once they become strays, they are nothing but a menace. Often when killing strays under Lucius's experiments he would imagine them as his father. Rage was a powerful tool in battle but it was something Desmond could hardly control once unleashed. The practice of steeling his emotions was to ensure this did not happen.

His thumb edged the hilt of the blade once more in comfort, a habit that had come about naturally. This blade was his connection to his mother, a reminder of the person who had given it all for him. It was perhaps a bit selfish of him but he would give his life for Alice just as well. Desmond leaned against the wall next to the door, arms crossed as he awaited the order to head out. Stray or even the Angel Michael himsef....Desmond would take on anything and anyone in defense of his lady.

It was difficult not to look at the humans with contempt. Weak, pathetic creatures that barely understood the order of things. There was hardly any conversation made between him and Baradiel, not that he tried to initiate it. The concept of casual chatter was still somewhat foreign to him and he did not have anything to speak about outside of the peerage. Despite his distaste of humans, he found the differences between Seattle and London to be quite interesting. The sounds, the sights, and even the smells were totally separate from one another.

This unique factor of humans was not enough to keep his attention from drifting back to Alice and his home in Seattle. Desmond was more than eager to return once Baradiel stated it was time to go. Teleportation still made him uneasy but he handled the effects easily. He gave a respectful nod to Alice upon seeing her. Time spent doing nothing in London left the desire for battle in his heart. While the two talked, Desmond excused himself from the conversation and grabbed a water bottle from the fridge to drink.
Rath

Rath took a moment to consider his options on who should be going on recon duty. He knew he could trust both of them to take care of it however he needed an expert's eye on this "Claire will be going." He rose from his chair and rolled his shoulders as he wandered towards the door before stopping to look at his queen "I want confirmation these priests are conspiring with fallen angels. Gather any other information you can before night falls." He gave his orders. The last thing he needed was fallen angels making moves on his chessboard.

He turned to address Pan "Training is precisely what we will be doing. We will be doing mock battles in pairs today. Pan will face Allison and Alisaie will face..." A wicked grin grew on his face "Me" In the year since he started his peerage, Rath had not had to face anyone in close-combat. His magic was usually enough to take care of any trouble-makers. However there was something in the air and Alisaie would have no partner otherwise.

His face grew serious once again "I can't shake a feeling that something major is going to happen that we're going to be sucked up in." It a simple policy he expected each of his pieces to observe and in turn he would do so himself. That simple policy was honesty "Let's head out to the forest to the usual spot. I hope none of you have been slacking in your exercises." A short, menacing laugh escaped his lips.
@Polaris North

The tactic worked well in Kurvia's favor. The weakened state of the goblins meant they could not get within the arc of the katana as Kurvia moved, making them short work of them. A sharp snapping resounded through the halls as Amrec cracked his knuckles, the normally pale skin drenched now in splashes of red. Casually he walked back to his axes and yanked them from their dirt sheathe and made his way back over to Kurviva with a smile on his face "I'm suprised you simply want to be a supporter Kurvia. With the skills I have seen, you would make it just fine as an adventurer." He seemed almost proud in his tone of voice

"Well then, there are more monsters just waiting to get a taste of our blades. We shouldn't keep'em waiting, eh?" He spoke eagerly as he patted Kurvia's shoulder then took the lead once more down the lit up stone halls of the dungeon. It appeared as though the first day in the dungeon would go off without a hitch. The small pouch that had started out empty was now filling up with monster stones, at this rate it would fill up before long

The bright sun struck your eyes as you left the dungeon alongside Amrec, the bag used to hold the stones filled to the brim. With Amrec at the helm, nothing you came across posed any threat. You are virtually unharmed save for few scratches which no longer bled. Amrec seemed pretty happy as you made it into the courtyard "Hah! That sure was a good little bit of exercise." For how easily he took care of the level 1 monsters, he never once broke a sweat. A hard pat struck your back as Amrec congratulated you "You did well lass! I see some great potential in ya!" The scene around was a little different from earlier as adventurers exited out of the dungeon in mass and others walked in to replace them. "Now, let's turn these in. Afterwards, I'll treat you to a meal at the Tilted Orc. Sounds good, doesn't it?" He laughed heartily

@Achronum

The pair of goblins responded only with screeches, seemingly ignorant of the beating they were being given. This time Renji's strikes were too much for their bodies to handle and at last they fell to join the other stones that littered the ground now. To your left Mare and Misha were finishing up with a pair of kobolds, but it seemed like this fight was over.

@Trainerblue192
MP: -20 HP: -40

Lighting shot out from your hand and struck the first kobold, annihilating its leg causing it to smash head first into the ground and skid a few feet towards you. Misha finished it off by piercing its hide with her spear, though her movements seemed far more sluggish than before. You managed to catch the other Kobold in time before it reached Misha. A sharp pain spread across your right shoulder as the kobold dug its claws in before disintegrating from your spell. Blood trickled down your arm but at last your were victorious.

Mare = HP: -20 MP: -60
Renji = HP: -30 MP: -40

The three of you continued to take down monsters in the dungeon together after Misha gave the dagger to Mare. Mare's magic, Misha's skill with a spear, and Renji's striking power made easy work of any challenge. However, the two of you began to notice that with each battle Misha seemed to slow down more and more. After gathering plenty of stones for the three of you, you finally left the dungeon. Misha at this point was using her spear to balance "We did so well together! I can't wait to trade these in and go get fo-" Before she could finish, she collapsed on the ground, the spear falling besides her.

@chukklehed@Duoya

The skeleton lumbered forward and released an unearthly screech only a twisted creature such as itself could. A tainted spear raised ready to strike just as Klou brought down everything she had on the Skeleton's skull, its slow speed making it an easy target. Shards of white bone shot from the monster's skull and with the hard hit so did the stone. The bones of the skeleton first crumbled into a small mass before turning into dust along with the deadly spear it held. Along with the stone were two arm bones, a drop from this particular monstrosity. Skeletons like this are hardly found alone, so it was lucky this one appeared to have been separated from its pack.

The two of you worked together from that point on throughout the dungeon and did not encounter anything more than goblins and kobolds in the rest of your battles. After a successful run through the first floor, your bags were nearly filled with stones. With a hefty first haul, you both head back up to the surface back to the courtyard in which you first saw each other. Now the option was left to accompany each other the guild house to cash these stones in or go your separate ways. Isis would likely be eager to hear how her two new adventures did.

@CriticalHit

A small smile shown on Priscilla's lips as you turned briefly back to her. The effects of Doom Call seemed to be wearing off just as you made your move, but it was too late for the goblin. It fell without giving too much of a fight back, now nothing remained of your targets except for the stones that they dropped. Soft footsteps behind was your first indication the Winter Maiden had closed in "You handled your first fight quite well. It seems like you may have enjoyed yourself too." A soft giggle escaped her at the last sentence "Now, collect the stones and let's move on. I wish to see how you fight a few more times.."

HP -30, MP -40

After a few battles with kobolds and goblins, the Winter Maiden left you to delve deep into the dungeon where you could not yet follow. However, she left you with the acknowledgement that your skills had impressed her. It was not too long that you were able to fill your pouch with stones and thus moved back to the surface to receive your first reward. The sun was bright as you exited the Dungeon, many other first time adventures seemed to be celebrating their first day in the dungeon as well.

Out of the corner of your eye, sitting against the fountain in the center, was another Anubis member called Selene. She had only been an adventurer for a month at this point, so she was still pretty new herself. The features of a weretiger were pretty obvious, the color of her fur a gorgeous white on her ears and tail. Sharp blue eyes like sapphires were looking lazily to the sky, her right arm propped on her right knee as she sat on the ground. It was clear she just left the dungeon by the traces of sweat on her skin and the exhaustion expressed in her face.
Rath

Rath managed to respond quickly to Pan's queries "This will be unofficial help. I'd hate to see my rival fall too far behind. I want a challenge at the rating games after all." The two kings had talked about facing each other in a rating game for awhile now, the perfect competition to see who is the better. An under the table deal would be more beneficial than an open agreement, it was not his intention to undermine Alice. He loved playing loose with the rules but he respected his rival.

He listened only partly to the new company name Alison gave him, some kind of video-game company. Of course he really enjoyed them and he admired Alison's dedication to him, but he was not as obsessed with them as she seemed to believe she did. His attention was quickly grabbed by Pan, who took freedom of expression to her usual degree "For you to get off my desk, if you would." A stiff smile accompanied his reply, voice calm but with an aura of seriousness. It was too late however as Alison decided to take it into her own hands.

Rath simply back as Clairemont addressed both of their attitudes, once again she proved to be a reliable queen "Thank you, Clairemont." It was a relief that he needn't always be addressing this issue all the time "Priests meeting with fallen angels is hardly a good sign, let alone near our territory. See if you can't get any more information." His feeling might not be so wrong after all. Not too long after and right on time, the last member of his household entered.

A small chuckle left him at Alisaie's comment "Your boldness continues to impress me." There were some that would say allowing such vibrant expressions from his pieces was a mistake but what mattered most to Rath were three things: Loyalty, Ambition, and Honesty. People putting up a false appearance just tended to piss him off so here he was, with his rather vibrant cast of characters "Are you feeling left out? I could remedy that in a flash if you'd like." The stress he was previously feeling had begun to lift.
Rath

Rath's piercing blue-gray eyes looked up from the piece in his hands to Pan, one of his knights. Flirting was almost an unspoken competition in his household, though not everyone liked to participate. A shallow grin showed up briefly on his lips "I see you got your beauty sleep and then some." It was minor compared to what he could have said, the last thing he wanted was a contest this early in the morning. It wasn't long before the other members of his household began to pop in, stopping him from responding to Pan's question.

Alison, his other knight and the Occult Club's accountant, waltzed in with news of his financial situation. Mentally he sighed anticipating her reaction to Pan's rather risque attitude towards him, the two always seemed to be after each other's throats "Relax Alison." He responded strongly, last thing he needed right now was the two of them to go at it "Sell 75% of the stock, keep 25%. Use 50% of the profits to re-buy some stock when it stabilizes and use the other 50% to invest in more stable stocks." Rath immediately said after a brief pause. Since he liked to partake in some human indulgences such as video-games from time to time, having some extra funds was always a benefit. However this didn't serve to soothe his current agitation.

At last his queen arrived on scene, carrying herself in the manner he knew well. She confirmed his suspicions about Alice's course of action, Rath could always count on Clairmont to get what he needed. Rath set the bishop piece down after Clairemont assured him potential candidates were being sought "I'm look forward to seeing what you manage to catch." Now that nearly everyone, save his rook, was here he decided to loosen up "We'll leave the stray to Alice, even if I wouldn't mind stepping on her toes just a little. I heard London is simply romantic at night." A sly smile creased his lips "Besides, she'll owe me one if something turns up while they are distracted."
