Bio

This is my second profile on here, and I have been Play-By-Post RPing for about nine years now. I do my best to see every RP to the end or at least let my character come to his/her own dramatic conclusion when I feel like signing off. Just like novel writing in real life, I tend to find myself on long hiatuses. Since writing is a great way to work out your brain, I try stay engaged as much as possible.

My favorite genres include futuristic worlds, mysteries, and super powers. Any mixture of these three elements will peek my interest.

Han vs. Niko

Han stood and waited as Niko charged. His guard was up, but it did little to stop Niko's attack, because he wasn't looking to break that guard. He was after something else...

And it worked! Han went flying out into the water. With a big splash, he landed in the water. It would take time to swim back, time that Niko could use to plan his next move or perhaps... run away?

@Balthazar007 Bal, don't copy and paste from the previous fights. I'm not fighting Bakuto and I'm not playing a she.

Han vs. Niko

The battle between Niko and Han started off with a stall, a fake out that didn't put Niko off his guard. Then it happened again, and again, and again. Han moved like a killer, but when it came right down to it, he would abandon his attack. Despite Niko's best efforts, he couldn't get close enough to counter attack.

The trained soldier knew one thing though. This was no matter to take lightly. This man was a trained killer...

@Double@FalloutJack

First of all, nice fight music.

Secondly, I won't be able to respond till I get my laptop back from my daughter who is using it for school.

Wasnt expecting Pan either. Didnt even know we were in the same universe universe as any canon characters. Figured this was like Dragon Ball Super's multiple universes. Maybe I am still right and this universe just has its own Pan and Hercule. But I could also be wrong.

We are in a parallel universe. Where many events are similar to cannon, but somethings are different. Rule of thumb is that you can speak of anything that happened in cannon, but don't speak of it as fact. Keep referring to events as legends and stories, just like you all are doing now. The fun will be finding out which things did happen in this universe, which things didn't happen, and which things did happen but not in the way the legends describe.

The Grand Festival

The crowd's roar could be heard well after the fight between Angela and Bakuto concluded. The two of them, now rejuvinated from senzu beans, walked with Niko back to the fighter's building. There they found Lee standing near a woman with grey hair but an otherwise healthy body. The woman wore a long red skirt and a white blouse. She somehow looked ready for a business meeting or a party, at the same time.

She greeted the three fighters as they approached and stood near Lee. "Thank you all for a wonderful show! Some of you may recognize me, but I'd understand if you don't. My name is Pan, and I'm the granddaughter of the legendary Mr. Satan, the longest reigning champion in tournament history. I even won the title twice myself. So no, Ms. Angela, you are not the first woman champion, I'm sorry to say." The woman's confident smile was heartwarming as she continued to give her speech. "That was quite a few years ago now, I'm afraid. I still keep up with my training, as much as my aging body will allow, but I no longer compete on stage. These days, I am the silent chairwoman of the World Martial Art's Tournament. And it is my solemn duty to let you all know that your day has not ended quite yet. This old tournament is filled with traditions, including the post celebratory festival that will start in less than an hour."

Pan watched the reactions of the four fighters and gave a look of understanding. "I know, it's a drag. Do you think I want to be wearing this skirt? No way. I've never grown out of being a tomboy, but alas, it's all part of it. Now, of course, those fans out there would love to see all four of you, but as long as my two finalists here make an appearance, that will do."

Lee stepped forward, bowing in respect. "So I may leave then?"

"Yes, but I would encourage you to-"

"I'm sorry." He interrupted, bowing once more. He then disappeared on the spot, using a serious burst of speed. Of course, surrounded by fighters on his level, they would have seen him run away, had they been in fighting mode and expecting the sudden exit.

"Well then," Pan sighed. "That's the quickest one a semifinalist has disappeared from being in the festival. As for the rest of you, there are showering rooms and a changing rooms filled with clothes from all over the world. I encourage you to find something that suits the occasion and your own style. One of the tournament staff can help you pick out your look if you like."

With that, two women and a man stepped out from the corner of the room. They wore extravagant yet elegant clothing: colorful dresses on the ladies and a fine suit on the man.

@BladeSS4

I guess I could go next. I can introduce that festival idea. Then you all can show what you're doing during the festival. Whether Angela wants to or not, it is tradition for her to participate, as well as for Bakuto.

Niko, not making it to the finals can sneak off.

So, I'll post this in a few hours. Then you all can go whenever you like.
Well, with that explained, who's up?

Actually, I believe that would be you. You need to create the opportunity that he mentioned at the end of his post. Like... There could be a festival on the island, to celebrate the tournament's conclusion. Niko being Niko, probably elects not to join the festivities and instead sneaks off to the abandoned side of the large island for a little self-reflection or something.

It's up to you. That was just a random idea.
@Double @FalloutJack

Actually, your example should look more like this...

Niko uses Tatsumaki-Ken!

Power: 121
Health: 121

Secret Technique - Tatsumaki-Kei (Tornado Fist)
25 x 2 = 50 Attack Bonus

Serious Attack
--Attack: 25 x 2 = 50 + 50 = 100
-Defense: 21
---Speed: 50

I know it is the same end result, but it's important to note the separation of where your stats are distributed. Why? Because what if you wanted put more ki to attack (when you otherwise couldn't because of your character's focuses).

Like so...

Notice how you're still in compliance, with your base attack stat being equal to or less than your base speed stat, but you're putting a lot more into your attack than you otherwise would be able.

Now secret techniques can serve another purpose. They can surprise your opponent with a major shift in tactics.

I could also get into exhaustion costs, but that's probably too much at once.

On the same note, I think all secret techniques need to follow this new model, including boosts. From now on, they take directly from your ki, then get added or subtracted from the appropriate stat (yours or your opponent's).
