Critical Role? More like Crunchical Hole, haha. But yes, it's pretty uh... well, the Mercer Effect exists for the same reason people think porn is an accurate depiction of sex.

Bio

Hello, I am me from the internet. I migrated here from Kongregate's Forum Games Forum, so feel free to look for me there if you wish to follow a career in internet stalking people. (ಠ_ಠ) ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

A link to some of my past characters, which I need because static tabs do not take up internet.

Infamous Quotes From People Who Exist

“I really don’t follow how your faith believes its perfectly acceptable to doom 4,000 years plus of sentient beings, on a pre-set path of no escape from sin, just so their descendants can be offered the ‘chance of salvation’ when the god murders its own son.”
~vikaTae

“Don’t be an ass or a pussy, ’lest you get screwed by life. Being a mouth or a hand is somewhat safer, and an eye socket is pretty much sacred in this regard, so always keep a look out.”

@Necroes Whilst I hate to say as much, the game has been dragging its feet for a very long time. I can still post if it does show signs of recovering, but if not, there's not much I can do to make other people post.

'Yessir!' Ketsu exclaimed once more, before momentarily addressing the others by saying 'And of course, I wish you all the best of luck in your respective missions too, my fellow investigators. Though naturally, our skill ought to be more than sufficient, am I right?' His mouth quirked upward into a half-smile as he examined the reactions of the others, whether they were positive or negative, and so how he might adjust his behaviour around them accordingly, if at all. Something told him he'd be seeing them around a bit more frequently from now on.
Alessa Heather: PRT Headquarters

...well, Decoy was right. They had time to kill, for sure. Probably not as much as Alessa would like, but certainly enough to do everything Decoy had suggested - ironing out the kinks in the plan if possible; practicing using the holodisks in a tactical manner, including sliding them around as appropriate; Margrave of course preparing his own equipment as necessary; and examining the details of the warehouse’s layout to figure out, for example, secretive routes into the place that Lily could exploit. And a full squadron of PRT troopers to accompany them to boot… Messiah had never been in charge of actual soldiers before. The thought was enticing, if only because it’d give her the opportunity to fulfil her mission that much more effectively.

‘No questions on my end, Decoy,’ Alessa confirmed, before glancing over at Lillian again. ’I’ll come with you, Lily. We can all talk tactics whilst we train, I think, and- well, I should make sure everybody examines the warehouse’s layout anyway,’ she uttered, raising her voice just enough to grab everyone’s attention, ‘but to be clear, I don’t think anyone would appreciate getting lost in there in a pinch, so please get it memorised, just in case something happens to our electronics. Worst case, we can regroup near the front entrance if we all recall where it is. Okay, guys?’ she concluded, a mild grin spreading on to her face. Oh, was she hyped to get this show on the road.

Raymond Haywood: Trainyard

And that was what the layman called “good timing”. Both guards went down almost simultaneously, and shortly after that, they had both been tied up by Heartless and Thunderbolt, Raymond lowering his weapon and joining them as they did so. Much as he considered his earlier question to be foolish, he had to admit that the shadow-walker was quite skilled indeed, and returned his thumbs-up just before he began scouting atop the roof of the building.

In the meantime, Thunderbird had made sure - not too quietly, it was worth noting - that those guards wouldn’t be getting out of their container any time soon. He offered to toss Sofia up to the roof, only to be granted a counter-offer of having her ride on his back, ignoring whatever he told her to. And that had its merits, certainly… he had been about to point out her mass being an issue, before recalling that Thunderbolt’s abilities made that matter entirely irrelevant. What a coincidence, and what a way to make a fool of himself if he hadn’t remembered the major powers of one of his team members. In that case…

‘Worst case scenario, you can throw her at a crowd, and she can ignore them into the floor or something,’ he joked, morbidly and with very little humour. ‘Otherwise, I suggest you two take the front entrance; Chatterbox and I can enter through the back; and Heartless can sneak in from up top if his scouting goes well.’ Looking to Chatterbox and jerking his head toward the warehouse, he began to trudge to the right of the building and round the back, keeping the morph gun in its FN P90 form for the time being. This was perhaps the most likely case for its use: close-quarters fighting, but of the sort that required rapid firepower, not focused shots from a high-power handcannon. And with his designated partner apparently bearing close-range and mid-range weapons of his own to boot, they’d be quite set up in the likely event that they were attacked within the place.
Unfortunately, for reasons relating to character activity, I'm going to have to drop out of this game. It was fun whilst it lasted, anyway.

...well, shit, Seto really was the Lead Investigator here. And he'd not figured that out until now? What, had he zoned out the day that was announced? Or maybe he just hadn't ever been put under the man's command, but it was nonetheless an untenable lapse of knowledge. He would not be one of the stupid people of the world, damn it.

That said, and as expected, Tanaka came with bad news, namely that Ward 11 was being evacuated wholesale. "A little harder", indeed, but at the end of the day, all it meant was more food for Ketsu. He did so detest pretending to consume and digest normal food... though he'd long since learned to surpress his vomit reaction until an appropriate time, occasionally he just had to suck up the impure nutrient substance and take the hit to his health for a little while.

But not today. Today, he surmised as the one-eyed investigator continued to speak, would be a good day to feast. Shame about the ghouls banding together in 20th Ward, where he had no particular influence, but a random binge eater, who nobody would notice had been a little bit drained of blood? It was practically an invitation! So long as he could figure out how to get at the body whilst his partner was distracted. Wait too long, and the blood began to coagulate. That was the woooorst; it meant he had to take bites of his meal, and that was DNA evidence waiting to happen.

And of course, his partner was none other than Seto Tanaka himself. Of the others in the room, Unbalanced Sora remained with Kobayashi McDaggerthrow - as usual - whilst Remi the Airhead was assigned to Katsura Scissorgay. No offense was meant to any of them with those internal nicknames, but it was the easiest way to remember roughly who they were in his mind, given that none especially stood out otherwise, and he generally avoided becoming too close with any of the other investigators for obvious reasons. Seto was the exception, rather than the rule, given their mildly-shared past, and even that was tenuous.

Still, it sounded like Ketsu would definitely be the lucky one who got to take out this particular ghoul. And if he succeeded here, showed Tanaka exactly how skilled he really was, perhaps he'd be seeing his way up to an early promotion to Rank 1 Investigator. And only a few weeks into his tenure, too, oh how impressive his fellows would says... and what better justification to gain ever more privacy in his working hours, perhaps, than by increasing his rank? T'was the idea all along, to be sure.

'No questions from me, sir,' Ketsu obliged, a bland smile crossing his face. 'I expect the details of our special trip will be relayed to me en route, if they aren't directly related to finding that ghoul - and might I say, I'm honoured to be taken under your wing this time around? I shan't let you down!' And just to complete the image, a quick salute, because why not? After all, he was feeling enthusiastic about this next mission.
@Renny That one RWBY RP run by ReaptheMusic, where I played not!Alucard, with the grappling hook gun and sword. You know, if I'm not mistaken.
@Renny You know what, I'm not 100% certain, but I'm pretty sure we've been in an RP together in the past. If it is the one I'm thinking of, good to see you again, man; otherwise, disregard this post.
@knifeman As a child, he was bad at hiding his ghoulishness, and humans kept trying to attack him because of that; as a ghoul, he always came out on top, increasingly so as he grew older, until eventually a large gang of ghouls beat the crap out of him, using the number of gang members he incapacitated before going down to decide whether or not he should be allowed to join them. And so he did, and now he's part of a ghoul street gang, and still bad at hiding the fact that he's a ghoul. Boom.

Ketsu entered the boardroom that day not expecting much positivity. He'd already seen the news regarding the state Ward 11 was in, and frankly, he felt sorry for the poor bastards duking it out over there... well, he felt one side or the other were bastards, and in the end, wasn't that really the same sentiment? He'd certainly make a joke along those lines if anybody asked.

For now, it seemed he was the first to arrive... pardon him, he was the second to arrive. And wasn't the other man a familiar face, or at least a familiar scent? Special Class Investigator Seto, if he wasn't mistaken - the very same he'd made his bet with less than two years ago. And from the looks of things... hang on a moment, was he... no, surely not! Wouldn't that have been more obvious? But maybe...

'Sir, it's good to see you again,' Ketsu began jovially, internally wondering how to ask his question, and eventually just deciding to be direct, as he'd be expected to. 'And forgive me if I haven't noticed until now, but the fact you're here before me means you were either the Lead Investigator running this Ward all along... or you're very punctual when it comes to the Lead Investigator's meetings! Heh- Heavens, I never knew,' he quipped, a slight grin crossing his face. Was he being too friendly? No, no... and he was sure Seto wouldn't be too harsh even if he was being too friendly. The man wasn't quite that uptight, to his knowledge.
@TheRedWatcher Regular old humans are absolutely allowed. We have at least one in the Characters tab already.
