Jace and Janelle

Janelle's sword shook, she wasn't able to hold it steady for she was afraid of the bats. It would be one thing if she only could hear the bats, but now she was able to see them, and she froze up. Jace stood near her, pulling out his own sword. He started striking at the bats, keeping them at bay, but they were out numbered. There was no way they could win, even if the monsters were weak. Jace couldn't fight them on his own, and Janelle was too scared to move.

Suddenly a group of people came bursting through the trees into the clearing. Several of them paired up and started slicing at some of the bats. Yelling out to each other. Jace looked at Janelle, and he came up with an idea. She was afraid, but this world was new, she had never used her eyes before, but what if she couldn't see them. She practically had a sixth sense in her ability to find creatures and differentiate them from others. He tapped her on the arm, while the others kept the bats at bay.

"Try closing your eyes. It might help you if you can't see them," he said, and went back into the fight.

She just stared at him, and nodded. Janelle took a deep breath, and closed her eyes, giving herself up to the darkness once more. Her arm steadied, and she listened to the beating of their wings. Janelle charged at the nearest bat, striking at it, Jace was surprised at how quickly she had responded to his idea. She was knocking it down, quite thouroughly.

Wow, this just got interesting, he thought.

What is this guy thinking? What sort of thing would remove someone's heart? Jade seems to think that they were murdered by a serial killer. After what happened just a little while ago, I'm almost positive that's not the case. Wonder what could have killed them though. Maybe I should see about looking that up later.Zach grabbed the files that Cecily had brought over and started thumbing through them.

"Uh, there weren't any organs missing. The heart and everything else is still there. The only oddity besides the fact that they were all skipping town is what was burned on the palms of their hands according to this. They all had the letters INF burned into their palms. They were also ripped apart, so I don't think this is a serial killer Cornish. What type of person would rip people apart? It probably is an animal of some kind if you ask me." he said, looking up at Jade. He turned towards the FBI guy, still wondering about him. "Well, what do you think it could be?" he asked him. He glanced back at the crowd of reporters and medical personal. Well, hopefully this day doesn't get any worse.

Kat was still sitting there, her arm was throbbing and her leg felt like it was being put through a blender. She watched the medical people rushing around her. A young doctor fixed her up quickly, then he walked away from her, paying attention to the doctor who had originally come over to her. Whats up with him? Something seems off, but I can't figure out what. He is a little strange, like the perfect guy for that doctor, but what are the odds of that?

Those who she had been talking to had walked away by now, talking to each other. She sat there, with no one around to talk to besides the reporters who were still crowding around. Yeah, I may be desperate to talk to someone, but I'm not that desperate. Hopefully the police can keep them away. Ugh, I'm going to have to talk to them later about the incident. That sucks, wish I could avoid them, but I can't do anything about it now. At least I can use my injuries as an excuse not to talk to them right away.
She sat there, thinking to herself. Wondering how that demon had possessed the girl in the first place.

History

The Reason You Chose The Side You Did: She felt that there was something she could do. Daphne couldn't stand living near her father, so she had to find some way off of Boros. She didn't want to join the Alliance military, she didn't believe in what they did. Even though her sister had joined up with them easily, she just never could do that. She found someone who was willing to help her out, it was clear that the man was a browncoat, and she learned of what they were doing, fighting against the Alliance. Daphne wanted to help his cause, so she trained to become a pilot and leave Boros.
History: She was the youngest in her family. Growing up, she was close to her sister Dorothy, even though they were a few years apart. Her father owned a bar on her homeworld of Boros, and every evening after the bar closed, he kept drinking some of what was left. Turning him into an alcoholic. Every day, he would start yelling, the fights that usually erupted within the bar were loud, and there was nothing that she could do. Dorothy took care of Daphne and her mother, until she left to join the Alliance.

Daphne could hardly believe that her sister left her and joined the war. She kept to herself after that, never talking to anyone but her mother and, on occasion, her father. She understood why Dorothy left, but she needed her own getaway. A place where she could be useful, or even help other people. She always felt like she would never leave Boros, and it scared her, thinking that she would always be near her alcoholic father. She was about 20 when she met a browncoat. He introduced her to the world of the rebels, and she loved every moment of it. She trained as a pilot, since she always loved it when she could fly. Her life seemed like it was getting back into order, when she started talking to Dorothy again, she thought her life couldn't get any better.

The first war ended, and there was nothing that could be done. The Browncoats who she had come to know on Boros had left and were on the run from the Alliance. Once again, she was alone. There was nothing she could do, since not many people were hiring pilots, the one thing she knew that she was good at. After Miranda though, she realized that she had to get off of Boros. Daphne couldn't stand by and do nothing, so she met up with her sister again, and they went off to join a browncoat ship, finally she could do something that she loved, and she could leave her father behind and never look back

She almost never crosses paths with Camilla. Since Daphne spends most of her time piloting the ship, the only time she might see her is in the dining area of the ship. She has no reason to like or hate Camilla.

She is friends with her sister, but problems have arisen between the two. Daphne resents her sister, since she had at one point felt abandoned by her when she left for the war. The two have a better relationship, but the fact that Daphne stayed on Boros while Dorothy was off somewhere else still hangs over her head. She loves her sister and doesn't want to lose her.

Daphne likes Gideon as a person. He fixes the ship and she appreciates him for that. Daphne gets along well with him. The ship will probably not blow up with him fixing it up, which is one thing she is grateful for.

They look at each of you, then they huddle up together, whispering. After a few minutes, they turn back towards all three of you. One of them pulls out a bag from their inventory.

"Alright, if the three of you want to help out, you can. First of all though, you need better equipment. We've been collecting gold to help others out, we were planning on handing some out tomorrow.Get yourselves some better equipment, and meet us back here at around 7. See you then." the leader of the group said.

He went to you one by one, handing you some gold. When you counted it, you realized that he gave each of you 50 gold. Now what do you do with it?

The four of you head off to gain experience. Inadvertently making a small, unofficial group. Heading into the forest, you start looking for monsters to kill. Hoping to gain some experience. After 10 minutes, you find no monsters, and it is starting to get dark outside. When the four of you look down, you see that the path you had been on was no longer there. The forest around you is looking a lot darker, more menacing. As the four of you look for the path, you hear the sounds of swords. Someone is nearby, and fighting off monsters. What do you do?
