Thank you for pointing this out, I accidently crunched my numbers based on when the Enterprise was destroyed instead of when the original series started.

The year should be 2295

That is mostly right, but actually those uniforms were also used in the first movie, just a slight variation of them.

Also, if you were Chief Security Officer, you'd be a Lieutenant (The Lieutenant Commander rank is generally for the doctor or chief engineer, but you can get promoted). Also, technically it would be Security Chief/Tactical Officer, whichever you would prefer to be officially called (I just looked this up to be sure I had my information right).

Also, everyone keep in mind that you can make two characters if you want to and think you can handle. I myself might make one more if need be.

History

Her father was always away on explorations for Starfleet. Her first few years in life, she was fatherless. When he finally was back on Earth after the Enterprise's last journey, she didn't even recognize him. Her mother had to tell her who he was. She didn't understand his absense until she was 10 years old.

When she was old enough, she convinced her parents to let her join Starfleet. Based on who her father was and her already extensive knowledge of human anatomy, many believed that she would be a medical officer on a ship. That wasn't what she had in mind. Tetra went into command training, she wanted to be a helmsman, or maybe even a Starship Captain. She ignored everyone else when they told her not to do it. She went ahead anyway, even her parents were worried that she would flunk out of the Academy. Quite the opposite occured though. She excelled at her lessons, easily mastering most of the basics, a few problems arising that wouldn't be much of a problem if she ended up in command of her own ship.

On her 22nd birthday, she managed to land a position as helmsman aboard the USS Kanon, flying the ship and taking control of it with ease. After a few years with this assignment, the Admirals at Starfleet wished to have her try commanding, so she became Commander aboard the Kanon when they switched personnel around. It wasn't until she was 29 that she finally got her very first command. A small science-scouting vessel that was brand new, and was one of the first Nova class ships. This would be her first command, she hoped that she wouldn't mess it up.

USS Tricyion

It has been over 30 years since the USS Enterprise started its voyage of discovery. Starfleet has made some improvements since then in their starships, and lately have been sending out more scouting ships than ever before. Science vessels have also been in high demand, since Starfleet believes in learning about the newly discovered uninhabited planets. Soon, they created a new class of starships, one in which is small and great for scouting, but also is equipped with scientific equipment and the personnel to operate it. The new Nova class has taken off and you are on board one of the very first ones.

The crew of 78 people is full of qualified officers from Starfleet. From Engineers to Scientists, it is full of interesting people. Welcome aboard the USS Tricyion.

Alright, obviously since this is a Starship, it needs a crew. Down below is a list of positions that are needed to make this ship operate. There might be some problems though, with figuring out what rank everyone on the ship is. Aside from the Captain position (I'm playing Captain so that the RP can continue on effectively), every rank is going to be randomized. Before you create your character, I need you to tell me what general position you would like your character to be in, I'll use a list and a random number generator to figure out what rank you are to make it fair for everyone, instead of having everyone call positions. Since that does tend to get confusing after a while.

There is also another little something I'm adding in here. Since this takes place 30 years after the Original Series, you are allowed to have your character related to someone from the original crew. Before you create your character, tell me which person it is so I can make a note of it. I'll only allow up to 2 characters being related to the same person, and you have to take about it with the other person. This is on a first come first served basis.

Unfun Part: Rules

1. You may have heard most GM's saying "GM's word is law..."blah blah blah. Well, All I ask is that you guys listen if I try to tell you something important. Especially if I tag you in a post.

2. Please let me know if you are going to be gone for a few days or something via PM. That way if something major ends up happening (like your Chief Engineer and the ship nearly blows up or something) I can work around it.

3. At least once every two weeks is when I'm posting. If everyone has a post in before that, it will be updated sooner. IF YOU DO NOT POST WITHIN THIS TIME LIMIT I will kick you out of the RP since I want to keep things moving and I know RL gets in the way sometimes. That is why it is 2 weeks instead of the usual 1, and why I am stressing so heavily of please let me know if you are going to be gone.

4. I'm going to ask for 2 paragraphs per post, and be as thorough as you can. Let me know if you can only get one good paragraph. If you tell me, than I'll be fine with it.

5. Have fun with this. Unlike a lot of people, I grew up watching a lot of Star Trek with my dad owning every series that they made of it on DVD. I hope that you all enjoy it!

All of the fellow Trekkies I know aren't on this site. Just two more people and I can get this running with the ability for people to just be able to jump in.
