How did you discover your powers: Lance was older than most when he discovered his powers. He was 16 years old, and was helping his father out in the lab. He generally didn't really care to be around his father, but he did like to be in the lab. It was getting late, and there was a storm outside. They were working on something when the power went out. It was dark, and no one could remember where they had set their phones, or where any flashlights were. Lance started feeling around in the dark, when a ball of light appeared in his hand, illuminating the room.
Why did you choose the side that you did?: Lance had always cared about the world, and he preferably wouldn't choose to destroy it or something. He agreed with Xavier's ideals, and everything he was working for. This made it an easy choice for him to join the X-Men, as opposed to any other group, though it was a toss up about whether he would join the Avengers. He didn't really care about the Avengers, so he has headed to go over to Xavier's School and join up with the X-Men.
General History: Lance was born in Las Vegas, Nevada to a woman by the name of Tracey Calrissian. He was raised by her, alone, never knowing who his father was. His mother never mentioned him, and whenever he asked she just said that he was a scientist with anger management issues. This stopped him from ever asking much about him, but it did make him wonder a lot. They lived a simple life, but it was clear to his mother that Lance took after his father in many ways, and thankfully not in the anger department. He was a smart child, keeping to himself, and his studies.
It wasn't until he was 12 years old that he learned who is father was. He was watching the news with his mother, when it started showing video footage of the incident in New York. Lance had recently asked his mother who his father was again, but she hadn't answered his questions, choosing to deflect it, rather than answer it. When they saw the Hulk on screen, his mother finally caved, telling him that his father was Bruce Banner, and that the giant green beast was him when he was angry. This freaked him out, and he left the house, thinking that maybe he was better off not knowing who his dad was.
Tracey called Bruce, after having looked up the phone number of Stark Tower. He flew down to Vegas, not knowing what was going on. She explained that Lance was his son, and this shocked him as well. He eventually sat down with Lance, and they had a conversation about it, and about how Bruce hadn't known. It was decided that he would go to New York with his father. It was not really his choice, since his mother decided that Lance needed to get out of Vegas, and there was the bonus of letting the boy get to know his father. They went to Stark Tower, where they were still dealing with the aftermath of the Battle of New York. He met Tony Stark, and met his daughter, Guin.
They hit it off, and spent much of their time playing video games together. They had a friendship, and bonded over the fact that both of their parents were apart of the Avengers, and the fact that both of their fathers spent a lot of time working. He went to school, and still aced every class he took, and when he hit high school, he was sent to Midtown Tech with Guin.
He was quiet, generally choosing to be by himself. Unlike Guin, he went by a different last name then his famous father, that is, until someone found out about it. Lance had always been more of a loner, but people generally talked to him in the hallways, saying hi as they passed by. People became afraid, scared of what could happen if they angered his father. His only friend was Guin, and that was because once people learned that he was the Hulk's kid, they backed away. They probably thought he had a temper too.
It made him mad at his father, and it made him want to go back to Vegas, to his mother, but it didn't seem like that was going to happen any time soon. No matter what he wanted, so instead, he through himself even more into books, science, and his video games. He ignored his father, and the Avengers, wanting nothing to do with it. When his powers manifested, he was even more angry, since his father had known that there was a chance that he was a mutant, and had never one anything to look for the mutant gene. After a few years, he was all too willing to go to Xavier's Institute, away from the Avengers, and his father.
Character Quote: "So, just because he's my father, doesn't mean I'm exactly like him."
