I think to sell someone on an interest check, it's really important to seem enthusiastic about your own idea. That means writing more than a single sentence to attract potential players.

Did you know that Dante's inferno is called a divine comedy because things work out for the protagonist? Back in the day, the only two genres were comedy and drama. The only difference was that in a comedy, the protagonist is better off at the end, and a drama is the opposite. So that's why a story about going through hell can still be considered a comedy, even if it's not funny.

Name:
Broken Promise, BP, Boss

Age:
Old enough to know better, too young to care. (that is to say 30's)

Preferred RPs:
I Prefer to make my own, but will occasionally join something if it looks interesting. I'll join just about anything so long as it isn’t overly edgy/sweet, though it's rare for me to do. I don't do 1x1s too often either.

Preferred Roles:
I tend to play adorable characters everyone wants to befriend or proper assholes everyone wants to stay away from. I try not to play moral paragons or prime evils.

RP Conquests:
I've completed quite a few RP's off site, but most of them are on private forums or have simply been lost to the ravages of server crashes. As for stuff here, I'm sure everyone who sees me post in the off topic sections has seen me find an excuse to talk about Danganronpa: Tower of Carnage. It's a project that took over 4 years to complete and I feel pride not only for myself but all the wonderful people who helped make it enjoyable during its run. Re: Zero: The High Council Is technically my first, but it was just something I kind of took over and ended up ending the story after just six months. It finished, but eh...

Last RP I finished was Symphony of Espers which turned out pretty good.

RP's in progress:
For some reason I can't seem to stay away from Ari's magical girl RP, even if I'm not sure why I'm still in it.

As for my own projects, I'm doing Symphony on High to continue the gigachad adventures of the espers in Pax Septimus.

RP Graveyard:
I've been pretty fortunate on this forum. I think I joined one when I first came on the site that didn't really do anything, and there are a few 1x1 things that didn't go anywhere. It's disappointing when an RP ends before it can be finished, but I've come to look at them as learning experiences.

And then there's that london magical girl RP, and that dark magical girl RP. I think I'm done joining magical girl RPs for a while.

Other interests:
Videos
I watch a lot of educational videos on youtube. Usually as research for something I’m writing or purely because a topic interests me. I like channels like Tier Zoo and Daryl Talks Games, and I’ll also watch things like Critical Drinker or Literature Devil to deepen my understanding of story telling. Though I also like memes and jokes, to which I’ll find myself watching stuff like Sseth, but usually find myself surfing through meme videos. I gotta work on that.

Games
I have a rather long history of playing virtually every platformer to come into existence during the indie boom, as well as quite a few other indie games. I’ve played Meatboy, Binding of Issac, Gunvolt, Cuphead, Princess Remedy in a World of Hurt, Classic Metroid, Warcraft 3, Final Fantasy 7,8, and 14, Left 4 Dead, Shantae, Celeste, Danganronpa, God Eater, the list goes on. What I’ve played is kind of all over the place. I don’t play many games these days, I tend to pick things that look interesting and go on a decent steam sale.

Painting Minis
I do this in moderation. Otherwise, it's a pretty expensive hobby to start...

Music
I listen to everything, save most country/rap songs. I have too many favorites to name.

Personality:
Not one to take life or the internet too seriously. Is only serious about writing well and having a good time.

People to Insult:
Dalton is a Dingus.

”It has been done, Samantha.”

Veronica and Silhouette drifted through darkness. There was no light to see by, no world to enforce gravity on the two. Time itself may have even stood still in this place. If there was something that did fill this void, it was air. It was a bit cooler than Mariette’s dimension, but Veronica didn’t seem to mind.

Unlike most, these two cradle agents had the ability to see through darkness. Samantha could see all manner of things floating around them. Weapons, artifacts, military gear, housing, an assortment of items both practical and not. The walls, ceiling, and floor had too much stuff floating in the way to be visible. Perhaps there were none.

”You may release Justine now. She will not harm anyone else ever again.”

Samantha didn’t want to hold onto the corpse any longer than she had to, so she didn’t hesitate to release it. The body seemed to float just as they did. Sam then gazed around at the multitude of objects, a bit envious at the convenience something like this place must have provided. “Do you intend to keep her here?” Sam asked. Didn’t seem like a place they’d have to worry about being compromised, at any rate.

”Of course. You know where this is, right?” Veronica looked around herself. ”This is what the inside of the cradle looks like. It could be likened to a hammerspace. Everything that goes inside it is locked into stasis until I will it to my hand or a nearby shadow.” She smiled. ”It is a powerful weapon, but that’s not really what makes it so valuable to me.” She opened her hand, and a cursed spear flew into her hand. ”When you kill a magical girl, the process of reincarnation starts. Maybe a decade or so down the line, they get to be reincarnated. Their weapons, outfit, everything fades from this world. And this process just keeps going forever and ever. You can’t really ever get rid of a magical girl permanently. They are effectively immortal… until I came around.”

Suddenly, the debris moved aside to reveal more magical girls. Hundreds of them, their faces twisted in agony or horror, frozen in stasis.

”If Justine’s dying body remains here, how long do you suppose it will be before she can return?”

It was an unnerving sight to see, but Samantha didn’t look very surprised. Veronica had weapons to loan and it only made sense something like this was what made it possible. She emotionlessly glanced at the twisted features of the girls, then answered. “There’s no mana requirement? If so, I imagine indefinitely,” Something about this piqued Sam’s curiosity. “So you take your weapons from the people you have here? Why are they imperfect?”

”Most hammer spaces can’t even take living things inside of themselves. As a dark power, there were bound to be drawbacks to leaving things here too long.” She spun the spear before letting it float out of her hand. ”Over the course of time, anything left in here will be saturated with dark magic. This is what imparts such unique properties on cradle gear. It’s not quite the same as magical girl corruption, as the effects saturate everything. Weapons and artifacts are not spared its effects.” Veronica sighed. ”Or maybe the girls themselves are reacting to me using their gear. As my eternal prisoners, their last act of defiance is tarnishing their tools. Perhaps it's done in a last ditch effort to rebel against their jailer. I am not Binky, so I don’t truly know. I have tried to keep as many eyes off of the cradle for as long as I could. You are one of the few people who has ever seen it.”

Samantha seemed happy upon Veronica mentioning it was a secret shown to few. She tried not to let it reflect on her face, however, as she felt it weird and immature to get excited over that. She wasn't some kid!

With a motion of her hand, the magical girls were hidden from sight again, ”As sinister as it is, it’s also romantic in a way, isn’t it?”

Veronica's statement prompted Sam to look around again. "Romantic?" she repeated. While she felt like that might not be the case with other people, Sam really was ignorant with these things. She just assumed she was missing something if Veronica thought so. "I wouldn't really know... but it is quiet. And I could see it being a nice retreat, kinda like those dimensional homes some girls have," this was ignoring the suffering in the background. Oh, and the fact that since she hadn't exactly adjusted to the 'low-grav' situation, Sam had to resist the urge to ‘swim’ to keep afloat. But aside from those…

”Yes, yes I think so too.” She pulled Samantha closer. ”So how are you and Trixy doing? Still holding up well?”

Samantha nodded. "I am fine. I wasn't attacked directly, nor did I expend much energy," She sounded a bit disappointed about this though. "As for Trixy, wouldn't it be better to ask her?" she closed her eyes. "I don't recall any serious damage done to her."

Veronica squinted her eyes. ”I mean your relationship.”

"O-oh..." Sam briefly recalled a few moments she had shared with Trixy. "I can't say for certain, but I believe things are going well." As far as Samantha could tell, Trixy seemed to be enjoying herself. And she couldn't say she disliked that. "Why bring this up? Did she say something?" Sam almost seemed worried.

”Well.” Veronica looked away. ”She’s been thinking some things, but it’s probably not worth bringing up.”

"What sort of things?" Sam found herself asking the question before she could think. It was an embarrassingly-impulsive reaction that made her blush a bit. "Oh, uh, that's kinda private, forget I said anything..."

The former cradle mother snorted. ”Sam, I didn’t tell you why I left. It’s true it was to have Binky perform a surgery on me. Viridian simply took my place temporarily. But there was another reason why I decided it was necessary to split myself into two different people.” She looked into Sil’s eyes. ”I didn’t think I could be an effective leader if I got to know you all so intimately. So we traded memories to make sure things didn’t get too personal. One of us would be equipped with the important memories of the agents. Things like your abilities and what you do best. The other would have all the useless ones. Your daily lives, what you ate the other day, the last time you saw Trixy, that sort of thing. What do you think about that?”

Sam kept eye contact with Veronica, but she didn't know what to think. "I don't know what to think." It honestly confused her. "I'm honestly a bit confused. You did all of this and just gave away the Cradle, after all..."

”Under the circumstances, it was the only way I could claim Justine while protecting the rest of you.” She narrowed her eyes. ”Sam, what I was saying was that Viridian was the one who was set up to lead. She had all of your combat data while I held onto the memories of each of you. I was overcome with emotion and acted irrationally in the situation. I’m not sure what I am to you, but you are more than an agent to me. All of you are. Your deaths might only last a decade or so, but the Cradle was worth it. Even if it wasn’t necessary, and even if it was futile, my ambitions were not worth more than your lives.” Veronica lowered her head. ”I failed you all, and I am sorry.”

Sam rested a hand on Veronica's shoulder. "We're not the Mint, so the expectation is NOT to treat us as expendable," she stated. "I was sure that's part of the reason you started the Cradle in the first place. Why we have a damned Glimmr page you made me keep tabs on." Sam was somewhat irritated at Veronica from the tone of her voice. "Not even I want..." Sam's eyes widened when she realized what she was about to say. "...I don't want any of us to die," She didn't even have a particularly good relationship with the other Cradle agents, either. "...It's nothing to apologize for. And, uh... well, I can't say I think of you as just an employer... but, like I've said, these I'm terrible with things..."

”It’s less that anyone was expendable and that Viridian wouldn’t have been as impulsive as me. Or at least she shouldn’t have been, but while she has only the memories I gave her, she is still her own person with her own personality. Perhaps she felt I would make the right choice in the end, hence why I was summoned.” Veronica lifted her head and pulled Samatha into a hug. ”Regardless, Maura treats her girls very well. I doubt she will handle the cradle any differently. We also share in our hate for Mint and Beacon, she only chooses to describe these feelings as ‘those who upset the balance.’ I do need to have a conversation with her at some point.” Veronica and Samantha’s faces were inches apart. ”We can talk about that later. Right now while we’re alone, while you can still hear my voice outside of your head, I’d like to tell you something else.” Veronica leaned closer. ”Our future.”

That was when a hole opened in this cold, dark space, and light poured in. The cradle agent and her former employer were drawn towards the hole and shot out of the cradle. Samantha landed on her back and the two slid a few feet through the sand, causing a sand pillow to form behind her head. Veronica was just as close as before but something else had changed beside their surroundings.

They were both wearing swimsuits.

”Howdy y’all!” Viridian waved to them, dressed in a swimsuit herself. ”We all made it out, safe and sound!”

”Waaaaaah~~~<3” Trixy was also in a swimsuit while making… a very strange face. She had her hands pressed together and practically bounding to her position. Veronica was about to get off of Samantha when Trixy’s hand stopped her from rising all the way. ”Were you guys doing something? Don’t let me interrupt!”

”Hm?” Veronica blinked. ”Yes, I was talking to Sam, and I wanted to be really close to make sure she heard and understood me.”

The Cradle's idol went to push Veronica up so she could move out from under her, but accidentally groped her instead so she abandoned the idea. "!" Samantha was embarrassed by this, her face flushed a deep red. "S-sorry." It didn't help that being in a swimsuit was clearly a weakness of sorts for her, and being so close to Veronica in one, particularly in front of Trixy, made retaining composure difficult. "Y-yeah..." she looked away to hide her shame. "...a-as you were saying...?"

”Waaaaaah~~~<3 Sam! You just, took hold of Veronica, and, and…!”

”Sam!” Veronica’s eyes were wide open. ”J-just let me get off of you! There’s no reason to assist!”

Trixy’s eyes rolled into her head, and she fell backwards. This caused the three girls to collapse into a big dog pile.

Viridian turned from the spectacle to address Jenna. ”Don’t worry yourself about Justine, buttercup. She’s as done as toast with an egg sunny side up, ya hear? Biscuits and gravy straight off the stove top is what she is!”

No swimsuit pics because you fuckers are way too horny.

”Yuck! Extra clothes!”

— Tonya “Mac” Murphy

And that was it.

She fled with the other cradle agents without getting enough time to throw a single punch. It was unfortunate. All that work into capping off Justine and she's done in by some joe blow who was suppose to be on her side. It was whatever though. What mattered was that everyone that she wanted to live, lived, and Beacon got taught a lesson they wouldn't soon forget.

MAN spanking beacon girls was exhilarating. Kinda sucked that Alicia was one, as she was one of the few that seemed to have half a brain, but far be it for Mac to feel sympathy for her enemy. Just ditch Beacon and work for the good of the people. It wasn't like Mint was getting anywhere without Veronica, Beacon would probably be done without Alicia and Penny.

She used a few of her coins to push her luck to the next level. That was probably all she really cared to do. Though she'd be getting out of this hell hole as soon as she was able.

Well, at least there wasn't a null field active here.

“Magic ain’t easy for any of us ta understand.” He was able to pick up on the girl’s frustration. He didn’t really understand magic beyond what he could do with it, and things that he had seen from time to time. “As for where we are, seems ta be the exit to the sewers from the over city.” He pulled his hat over his eyes. “Without gettin’ too into it, we’re in an alternate reality. Nobody knows what the hell goes on here.” He turned around and walked along the cliff edge. “This place ain’t totally alien ta me though. If we follow this wall, there should be a way out.”

And so they ventured away. Save Melisa

“Why do the updates take so long to download REEEEEE-”

— Oros

Not long after she had departed, Oros had returned. When the shadow gate shut behind her, it kicked up magical waste all over her form. But for Oros, these toxic waters were not something to be endured, they were actually restorative.

“Ahhhhh~!” She ran her hand through her hair. Her skin briefly turned into black crystal wherever waste was present, and it was readily absorbed into her body. “I suppose while I wait to recharge, I’ll read the recent patch notes.” Oros reached into her hammerspace and pulled out the Doctrine of Combat Supremacy.

Patch notes V0.015

Hello magical girls!

After considering community feedback and recent events, we’ve decided that it’s time to make some balance changes to Oros.

“Oh no!” Oros shook the page. “That’s right! I was a premium magical girl! People were forking over dough to play me, but with the season nearly over, they’re going to hit me with nerfs and put me in free rotation! How could you do this shit to me! I’m an Oros main!”

One thing that’s been really grieving Beacon/Mint players (especially Jenna/Janet mains) has been Oros’s ability to track Beacon/Mint players regardless of where they hide. We at Riot games believe that this under minds the hidden nature of those organizations, and so we’ve decided that Oros’s “Innate Awareness” will only allow her to detect Mint/Beacon activity rather than the members themselves. This will make her Innate Awareness tracking less reliable. Of course, Oros players can still use their beast spec to sniff out targets they are familiar with.

“…What?” Oros wasn’t really sure what to make of the patch notes. She trusted Riot games, but she wasn’t really sure what counted as “Mint/Beacon activity.” She was entering free rotation, so it was probably a lot more severe than she was anticipating. “Oh wait, the patch notes continue.”

But it’s not all bad news for Oros mains! With her reveal as being a hidden Mika prestige class, experienced Oros players can now use Mika’s signature season 3 features: Her ability to create/control water, and also her upgraded Pool Fists with a special “VER Δ “ weapon skin!

Oros will likely receive more adjustments as the season concludes, but we feel this is a step in the right direction with one of the roster’s more controversial magical girls.

Stay frosty, Patrons!
~Riot Games

Oros lowered the DOCS and examined her right arm then her left. She extended her hand outward, and a small amount of water rushed out of her fingers and spun through the air. Twirling about in ways only a water specialist could manage.

Next, her arms bubbled over with sea foam. With a shake of her arms, her gauntlets had returned. They did have a striking resemblance to Mika’s Pool fists, with the exception that the cores looked a little melted. Oros had run them a little hot once upon a time, and they were on the verge of exploding. While the gloves themselves had been warped by heat and excessive use, the blades were still plenty sharp, and everything about the pool fist’s function was in full working order.

What could Oros do but laugh?

“I forgot I had those old toys. I suppose a death here and there can warp one’s memories a bit.”

Well, the stage had been set, and Oros still needed to get the Mint’s attention. She had just the plan for that.

“Hey, hey!” Oros was preparing to shift again, but this time it was going to be massive. This was evident as the black sphere behind her continued to expand wider and wider. “Do you guys remember season two at the cathedral? PLOT TWIST!”

Melisa, however, had not seen season 2, and was approaching Oros.

Things were not quiet in sanctuary.

Things were about to be far less so.

When Oros returned to Sanctuary, she did so with as much of that magical waste as she could take along with her. It surged outward in all directions, causing panic and discord where it flowed.

Clearly Oros couldn’t dedicate all of her magic to the porting of questionable magical substances, as she needed to maintain some of her mana to take on a form that could readily absorb some of that mana back into herself after the trip. It would be pretty humiliating if she appeared with her mana reserves depleted, vulnerable and unable to protect herself from the chaotic magic tide she’d summoned.

And she’d need at least some magic to reach into her hammerspace and swap out her outfit for a swimsuit.

“What? You thought just because I wasn’t at the beach dimension I wasn’t gunna get dressed up? DOUBLE PLOT TWIST!”

Oros rode her Dan pool float like a surfboard, but it could only take so much of the magical bong water before it popped and shot off like a rocket. The dolphin rider fell backwards into the stuff, and let the current carry her as far as it would take her.

Tabletop Simulator is pretty good. I've never tried playing DnD on it but I have played other tabletop games with it and it really depends on how the program is set up. I would have to assume with DnD's popularity there are probably a lot of HQ games you can download.

20$ sounds steep for what is essentially a sandbox table top simulator, but with all the stuff the community is making, you'll get your money's worth if you play table top often. I'd watch some youtube videos of it if you're still unsure.
@Mae I'll agree to that. 4e did make campaign creation with custom monsters nice. Unfortunate that the heroes fighting them didn't enjoy the same level of freedom with their kits.
I hated 4th.

Looooota people dropped 4e like a hot potato. It was really simplified and played like a modern day MMO, without the fun MMO elements.

The problem is, is that I'm a girl and it's likely no one wants to do roleplay with someone basically pretending to be a guy.

There's actually a 1x1 check for a FxM romance where the OP wants to play their female character along side a male character played by a woman. So go figure.

The only people who flip out over cross play are certain (read: not all) people looking to do erotic roleplays. I guess the idea is that they either A: like the idea that the player on the other side might be enjoying what they are doing to their character or B: They are insecure about their sexuality. Since it doesn't sound like that's what you're looking for, you've got nothing to worry about.
Most of the people who like 3e like it because you can build your character to be almost anything. The downside is alllllllll the dice rolling and rule checking, which is why I think 5e has taken a shining to the new crowd.

But I'm surprised, because I was told 2e had even more dice rolling and checks to make than 5e did. I really don't know much about it though.

@DarkwolfX37@Shifter_Master@twave@Flamelord

The mafioso cautiously watched the fight play out. There wasn’t much he could do with Penny fighting out there by the liquid waste. Asking his tiger to fight in that would likely not be well received by his companions. Besides, he had just brushed her up. Can’t ruin her coat now.

“Pugnabimus ad infinitum, pro bono.”

— Oros

It had been a long time since Oros had fought Penny. At one time it seemed like they fought every other weekend. She had probably been killed by Penny more than any other magical girl, and for good reason: she was powerful. Penny was fast, strong, and durable. Penny wasn’t a spell singer, but she had every utility power you could ever want. Many times, Oros had heard people call Penny one of the most powerful magical girls. But to Oros, she was just a worthy opponent, a challenge. However, Oros was presently on a winning streak and didn’t plan on letting it end yet.

Penny just wasn't as difficult to beat once you understood her. Regardless of what iteration she had, she was always an aggressive, close proximity fighter. She’d just throw herself at you and assume she would come out on top because of how strong she was. And there was no denying it; her strength was fearsome. But it was also that arrogant pride that made her so weak. Had this been Oros’s first fight against Penny, The shape shifter would likely be dead already. But over the countless years she had devised a method for dealing with all of Penrose’s magical girls. Penny might be one of the strongest girls, but she was also the most predictable. Not that it was really fair to blame Penny for that. If she had died to Oros time and time again, she’d probably smarten up too. But while Oros had fought Penny numerous times, this was Penny’s first time fighting Oros.

In the end, winning fights isn’t about the number of abilities you have or how strong you are, it’s entirely the situation. And right now Oros held all the cards.

Attacking the tentacles that gripped the sword was a sound strategy, but this was a feint. Oros could use the power of gravity to take hold of the sword again and continue fighting. In fact, without the tentacles holding onto the sword, it could be swung with impunity without having to worry about hitting its own arm or if it could even be held at a certain angle. The blade spun like a tomahawk, refusing to be poached by Penny’s destructive hands.

The tentacles that gripped Penny’s feet were merely there to cause her to tumble forward into Oros. There was no reason to maintain them once Penny had destroyed them.

Oros’s nail-like arm would break with Penny’s swing, but that was just denying the inevitable. Pain was nothing the the numb time traveler. She did not even flinch as her forearm was shattered on the spot. The spike now had a jagged edge that was still growing longer, and with Oros’s ability to alter her body shape, the forward flying Penny would not be able to avoid in time. Her torso stretched like a snake, determined to impale Penny on the spot.

And Oros wasn’t even out of tricks yet. Her black katana was unaccounted for. It was actually hiding in the pool she was laying in, ready to jet out at a moment’s notice. Altering gravity like this was usually taxing enough for Oros that she only did it occasionally, but her form seemed to be absorbing the magical waste into herself. She couldn’t burn the mana fast enough. She’d split Penny down the middle.

Could Penny fire back with anything? Probably. She was preparing another Gauss round or some variant of it, but it was all too easy to counter. Maybe she thought she could heal away the damage, but Oros's venom would counter act that. It was just a matter of time before she transformed into the “Engine of Destruction,” but anime transformations were old news. She considered her “Warpgasm” a perfect counter to it, and had several kills against other Pennies to back up her confidence.

If there was one move that Oros didn’t expect, it was Penny calling her by "that" name. As small as it was, as insignificant as saying anything to a creature who’s only interests are rampant lust and combat. It made her pause.

“The true name!”

The burning sword floated overhead, Any of Penny’s severed limbs would get pulled into Oros’s hammerspace by various tentacles, the dark sword would remain hidden in the depths, and Oros would pull back her jagged arm after minimal penetration (if any at all). All magic had been diverted to a second shift, and this one was going to take Penny, and only Penny, with Oros somewhere more secluded.

“Ahhhhh…”

Oros had used some of the extra mana she had to speed up her shift. She rolled backwards and sprung to her feet, still with the body of a crystal creature. Her hands had turned back, and were holding her new and old swords.

If Penny cared to open her eyes, she would see that she was in some ruined city. The sky was dark and clouded over, and large beasts flew over head. The stomping of creatures far larger than either of them could be heard in the distance. Everything was ruble and debris. Nothing lived here, not even the grass. If Penny could feel the cold, she’d feel a chill.

“I’d love to keep fighting Penny, and maybe I will. But perhaps we can talk first. It just didn’t feel right to drop several paragraphs of dialog inside a fight scene.” Oros sheathed her sword. She attempted to put away her new one, but the burning blade didn’t look like it would fit in her dress anywhere. Not without burning her up. With a sigh, she thrust it into the ground and leaned on it.

“You called me Mika. While that’s correct, it’s also not the entire truth.” She extended her arm. “So let me explain everything in a simple, concise paragraph so that you don’t have to read some shitty flashback to understand what’s going on.”

Unfortunately, Oros doesn’t write her posts. I do.

“Shit!”

“Pug-nah-brim…us? and in-fanny-um, pro-bone-o?”

— Mika Sarraf

@AtomicNut

“Hey Dina, wanna go to the movies later? I think there’s a magical girl movie I really wanna see.”

"I would be delighted to be accompanied by you, dorogaya."

“Yay!”

Mika had really fallen head over heels for Dina, and their feelings appeared to be mutual. Things weren’t always this way. At first Dina was far too high strung to bother with the rambunctious cat girl. But over time, Dina became more playful, and Mika became more mature. There were still times when they didn’t get along, but that was anybody.

“Thanks Dina! I really enjoyed that movie! If you ever want to do anything, just let me know!” Much to Mika’s surprise, the reserved woman gently took Mika’s chin in her hand and pointed it at her face.

"Even a lady has certain wants, and you can be certain of what I want now."

“I-I see!” Mika’s tail was spinning in circles. As Dina’s face came closer to hers, she found herself closing her eyes.

Nobody knew what happened, but the world was ablaze. Fires tall enough to scorch the heavens, and a pulsing eye loomed over all. The Mint and Beacon had finally pulled out all the stops, and everyone in between was collateral.

“Dina!” Mika held her lover’s shoulders. While Mika had survived Armageddon, it did not look like Dina would. She had used all of her mana, and Mika’s healing artifact was powerless to save the woman. “There has to be someone still alive. A-Alex couldn’t have been killed by that thing. A-And-”

Dina’s reassuring hand stroked the side of Mika’s face. "The past is gone, the future is uncertain... allow me to savor the present with you."

Mika closed her eyes, but she couldn’t stop the tears from flowing.

Mika used a red coin to help put an end to the fighting. She blended in with the remaining Beacon forces and slew as many as she could, but only after they mopped up the rest of Mint. The damage had already been done by that point. Her world had been lost, and it remained a hell for anyone unfortunate enough to be a magical girl. An infinite cycle of rebirth in a world without warmth or light. Being dead for twenty years was starting to look more like a reprieve from the constant agony of existence. But even that was being taken away from them. It seemed like with the world in its present state, even the patrons saw keeping their champions alive here was a lost cause, and their circle of resurrection was broken. Not that Dina's ability to reincarnate had been whole to begin with.

Mika was cursed to walk the earth alone, until her final days.

But a creature who had yet to taste life took interest in this world. A quiet voice offered Mika an escape from this hell, and who was she to refuse? She was given a dark sword that overloaded her mana reserves, instantly turning her into a monster girl.

Mika never cried again. She would go to other worlds and set things right.

What was happening?

She couldn’t change anything!

No matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t get her happy ending with Dina! Dina seemed to outright hate her now. Why was that? Why wouldn’t Dina be happy that Mika was stronger now?

This had been her fifth failure. She couldn’t stop the world from ending either. Maybe she should just set aside her love for Dina and focus on having a future.

Twenty failures, and nothing. Not even a little bit of change.

By this point, failure was becoming expected. It was less traumatizing that way. No matter how many times Dina died, she’d be right there again.

Maybe Mika was going about this wrong. She can’t save the world precisely because she’s repeating the same mistakes over and over again. Loving Dina is a mistake. Yes! She’d just have to pursue other girls. And since she can always move over to a new world, nothing will really be lost.

Yes! She would fall in love with everyone! And then she would understand everything! She would know the secrets of everyone she ever met. She would feel their warmth, their hatred, it would all be hers. And then maybe she would be able to save everyone!

W-what happened to Justine?

Mika had just confessed her feelings to her and she ran screaming through the mansion. Then when they kissed, she, she…

And now Sonia’s drawing her knife.

Mika had never seen Sonia more upset in all her life.

Penny’s body was cold, but you really couldn’t beat a tight hug at the end of the day. Mika was getting ready to walk home when Penny’s lair burst into flames.

Mika looked around to see what had happened. It was Thalia, tears streaming down her face.

When Mika looked back at the lair, she could see Penny was laying in it, her head turned into a molten ball of scrap.

Thalia took her own life shortly afterwards.

Mika didn’t stop punching the floor. A few minutes ago Mariette’s head was there. And while what was left of her face slipped between the floor boards, Mika continued to punch away.

But regardless of how much she punched.

Even if she erased every trace of her.

It wasn’t going to bring Deni back.

Mika had been putting off Su for a while. She didn’t really find her mother very attractive, or at least the idea of pursuing her was. Now she wondered why she hadn’t gotten to her sooner. She was needy and passionate, but Mika didn’t mind having Chinese takeout every night.

All she had to do was make sure Helga’s life gem was crushed during the crew’s first fight with her. But hey, at least Amber survived her encounter with Janet this time. Something to keep in mind for the next reset.

Mika pinned Alexander up against a wall and began kissing him all over his face. Was Mika bisexual? Bi-curious? Mika didn’t really think about her own sexuality much. By this point she had simply come to understand herself well enough that she didn’t need a name for what she was. She was lonely, and she enjoyed affection. It was as important to her as breathing air or eating food.

A shame she had to kill Lily before they ever met to make this work. He just didn’t take interest in her otherwise. That was fine though, she’d make it up to Lily next time when she Killed Alexander instead.

Just for fun, Mika decided to try pursuing herself. Way too easy. She knew herself too well. It was also very unrewarding. While Su was needy for one person, Mika was willing to share herself with everyone.

That was a lot of people to kill to make this work.

Mika was strolling by sanctuary when Viva winked at her and said something sexy. Mika just gave her a sideways glance and kept walking.

Not everyone was worth pursuing.

Mika lost count of how many times she had seen the world end. A hundred? A thousand? Regardless, she knew there was nothing she could do to change things now. But it also didn’t matter because there would always be worlds that hadn’t been doomed. At this point, it was all just a game. As long as she was enjoying herself, that was all that mattered.

It was getting harder to find worlds where Penrose even existed. Which was a shame, because there were a few people she had yet to get. In the long run, it didn’t really matter.

But for some reason, it did to Mika.

“…And then my patron guided me here! Now you know why Mika and I have the same color code for our text despite us being different characters! Hell, half of my abilities are the same.” She folded her arms. “Anyway, that’s just a primer for what I’m going to ask you. So you see, I’m actually not really with the Mint or Beacon at all. They are both pieces of shit that will eventually doom this world with their power struggle. While I normally wouldn’t try to oppose them directly, I found a babe who’s patron is all about kicking Beacon and Mint ass. So naturally, I need to make an effort to be their friend. If they trust me, I can strike. I'm too weak otherwise.” She pounded her fist into her hand. ”I’ve tricked Beacon into turning my nose into a weapon to destroy the Mint, and now I’m going to ask Mint to basically do the reverse for me. After that, they will hopefully collapse. It might save the world, but it will certainly get me some sugar. And in the end, isn't that what we all want?” She traced a circle with her burning sword which left a lingering afterglow. ”But this only works if they trust me. Killing you will put me on their radar. I’ll be someone they can deal with. But what I’d like to offer you right now is a chance to work along with me. The grand magistrate are throwing off serious ‘this needs to end now’ vibes, so I don’t think we have time for a popper fight anyway.” She cut through the afterglows with her black katana.

”So Penny, wanna fake your death?”
DS2 had shitty net code or something that made the "lag stab" really prevalent for a lot of people.

DS3 had kinda crap multiplayer, NGL. I think the expansion (which I never played) fixed a few things, but all the builds played more or less the same. If you wanted to PvP, there wasn't a lot of reason to spec into magic. Beyond troll spells like force of course.
This CS is heavily coded, and it kinda sucks when put in a hider. Ari should have seen the original CS already, which he aproved a year or so ago.

Specialization:

Darkness:
The Cradle Mothers are a potent wielder of darkness, able to do far more than your garden variety magical girl. Their shadows can bend to shapes that no longer resemble what casts them, and can become tangible. But they are at their most deadly when creating a portal into the cradle.

Psychic:
The Cradle Mothers' psychic abilities are far more mundane on the surface, and nothing that a good master of the spec can't do. But their magicom network is entirely fed by their specialization, and they can freely share thoughts from any mind connected to it. Regardless of how you look at it, that's impressive. Especially considering how it can transcend dimensions.
Weapons:BillyKillsMikaBillyKillsMikaBillyKillsMikaBillyKillsMikaBillyKi

Rose Cutter:
Vermilion's hidden wrist blades. Her original weapons, which have served her well as her time as an assassin.

Cherry Shooter:
A musket with a red tint and bronze trim. Packs a punch, and fires faster than it's non-magical counterparts.

Merlot Glory:
A massive sword that is taller than two Vermilion's standing on top of each other, and about as wide as her torso. Even the wind from her swings can shatter stone.

Garnet Beard:
A bearded ax that really sticks to whatever it hits.

Ruby Eye:
A staff with a single red eye. Greatly strengthens Vermilion's shadows in it's vicinity.

Mahogany Bulwark:
A tower shield that is covered in twisted spikes. Is every bit a weapon as it is a shield.

Scarlet Edge:
Two swords fused together at the hilt. For stylish twin blade action.

Currant Cannon:
A bazooka. Sometimes, you need explosives.

Sage cannon:
Basically a battleship cannon with a trigger attached to it.

Pear plunger:
A green toilet plunger, really?
Power:

#1 Regeneration:
The Cradle Mothers are tough to kill. If you somehow manage to damage them, it'll heal back eventually. Even if you cut off their limbs, they can just reattach or grow new ones. They will never bleed out or succumb to their wounds, unless you divide their head from their body.

#2 Cradle Space:
Functions almost exactly like hammerspace with two large differences.

The first is that any shadow connected to The Cradle Mothers or their magic can be turned into a portal that leads into the Cradle. From there, any item in the cradle can be launched out at high speeds, allowing for a "wall of Babylon" style attack if they so choose. That might sound strong, but that is not what makes the Cradle so useful to The Cradle Mothers.

The other difference is that REDACTED

#3 Twin-Soul:
Vermilion Is the main soul, while Viridian is her twin. She can signal Viridian to her position, but this is rather pointless with the magicom network in place.
#4 Third Eye:
Viridian can see things, except when she can't.

Perks:
Prodigy:
The Cradle Mothers are not just gifted with specialization magic, they're damn prodigies. On top of being able to bend the laws of what these specs can do, their magic confounds anyone who looks at it. Even 3rd eye girls can't easily discern what she's doing.

Mythic:
You only notice her if she wants to be noticed. The Cradle Mothers can walk through a crowded area filled with people and not a single person will remember seeing them. Even magic users have difficulty picking up their presence, and can't detect her magical aura, even when transformed.

Routine:
The Cradle Mothers have mastered every known weapon in the world, along with several martial art styles and tactics.

Ultimate Transformation:
The Cradle Mothers can transform instantly, silently, and are invincible for several seconds after they transforms.

Dimensional Shift:
The Cradle Mothers can shift to the overcity as well as inside the cradle. Though entering the cradle is a bit different. They must create a portal to it out of shadow, which people can walk in and out of. Anything in the immediate vicinity around The Cradle Mothers is not locked in stasis, but they can freely call and banish anything that is in the cradle to their position within it.

Interdimensional Lair:
The Cradle Mothers have a lair inside the cradle that is far better than any Interdimensional Home. It's a mansion that can easily hold a hundred or so guests and comes equipped with great food, furnishings, and waiting staff.

All-seeing:
The Cradle Mothers' awareness and ability to spot the mundane is almost otherworldly. They are very attune to sounds, smells, sights, and can even divine what something is with a thought.

Astolpho Artifact:
A plush designed after a romantic figure from a series of comedic plays. The true lunacy of love. Can behave like every other artifact, and is also said to make the holder unbeatable in combat.

Patron: Self Employed

Benefit:Patron
The Cradle Mothers are (correction, were) were own boss and have lots of magical girls to order around. There are no drawbacks! Though is she truly not tethered to an other entity?

Dark Empress features:

Dark Power: Cradle
The Cradle Mothers' Cradle is a dark magical power.

Mental Mutation: Controller
The Cradle Mothers have a burning desire to control the world. Establishing the Cradle just barely scratches the itch.

Empress Arsinal:

Empress Power:

Might of an Empire:
The Cradle Mothers have a squad of magical girls made up of player characters and NPCs that they can call upon at will.

Fighting Style:

They don't fight, they slaughter.

But they'll never actually fight, right? It's been too long, it would have happened already.

Personality: Vermilion acts more or less like Veronica always has, but Viridian is noticeably more affable and southern. Their personalities can seem inconsistent since they share memories between each other, which can cause one or the other to seem forgetful.
