As the water came careening from the darkness, Lloyd managed to see it coming. The roar of the advancing flow gave little warning. Lloyd, unable to warn the others, was only able to brace himself - and brace himself he did. The wave came quick, striking two of them rather brutally. Perhaps due to his lantern acting as an anchor or perhaps his innate strength, Lloyd was able to wade in the rapid blast of water.

"Just Farran! Lloyd Llewyn!" Cas yelled, "I'm going to throw this into the water! Please try and reach it! And if you can, please find the girl!"

Lloyd heard him loud and clear. The rope swung around in the rapid but Lloyd managed the end of it. Without an ounce of hesitation, Lloyd wrapped the rope around his hand before letting the water guide him.

Managing to stay upright as the water carried him, he managed to find one of them - Just Farron. The two collided meekly, but it was enough for Lloyd to grapple on to the panicking boy. The turbulent bounces and uncertainty of breath were soon to be prevented as Lloyd wrapped his arms and legs around the boy. Rather quickly, Lloyd tied the rope around Farron's chest, creating a faux-harness that was on rather tightly.

Of course, that was only a third of the problem solved.

"Cas!" Lloyd yelled as water splashed into his mask, "pull the rope!"

Lloyd could have ferried the boy over to the train cart, but time was of the essence. He had no idea where Pinkie went. He quickly let go, Farron now with the ability to easily keep his head above water. The tide quickly dragged him away from the boy.

The lantern that slowed him managed to emanate some light, but it nearly wasn't enough. Lloyd, thinking quickly, grabbed the chain. Almost instantaneously, a bright flash illuminated the water. Just as quickly as it came, it disappeared. It was enough. He could ascertain where Pinkie was. He began to swim, dragging the lantern-turned-anchor along with him. It was difficult in the turbulent water, but he could do it. He knew he could.

He took a deep breath and dived down. The lantern gave a barely-visible glow, but it was enough. After a few seconds of searching, he managed to spot a single bit of pink. Rather quickly, he swam to it, assisted by the current. He wrapped his arm around it as tight as he could and began to swim up.

It wasn't fun.

He was literally swimming with two anchors.

He was able to surface, but there was no possible way that he could swim back to the train.

As the current began to drag him along, he hatched a plan. It was a terrible plan; one so stupid that only an idiot could think of it.

It was a good thing that only this idiot could pull it off.

He collided with the cobblestone wall, his body taking most of the force. He endured. Still holding Pinkie as tight as he could, his elbow smashed into the wall, creating a small hole. It wasn't enough. He did it again and again, the sheer amount of anchors that he had managed to let him be unaffected by the flow for this brief moment.

It was enough. The water began to spill into the small hole. The force of the water carved more and more out until the hole began to gape. Suddenly, a crack. Then another. Then another. Loudly, the wall cracked and groaned as the water managed to break through, diverting the flow and lessening the current.

Lloyd let out a sigh of relief as the currently lightly pushed him into the wall. It hurt. His elbow, his back, his front, everything. But he did it. His dumb idiot plan worked.

"Cas!" He yelled, sputtering water out of his mask. "I got Pinkie! And this," he paused to sputter, "gaping hole in a wall!"

He couldn't exactly swim back to them, but they were safe.

"I'd thought you'd never ask!" Lloyd exclaimed after hearing the posh one introduce himself. Almost instantly, Lloyd dropped his lantern. The large metal ball collided with the ground, permitting a loud clang to ring out through the cavernous hole they seemed to be in. Rather quickly, Lloyd placed one foot on top of the lantern, contracted his arms to his chest, and curled his back. He began to shake extremely quickly, as if something was about to come out...

"I am..." He said, his voice ragged as if afflicted by a bad spell of pain.

"Tut-dadadaaa - Lloyd Llewyn!" He exclaimed, his back straightening and his arms exploding out. It was as if his entrance was supposed to be supplemented by confetti, fanfare, and a long carpet. None of that came. It was incredibly awkward.

After a brief intermission of silence, Lloyd quickly picked up his lantern, slung it over his back, and practically bounced to Castiel. "I completely agree and understand," he said as his arm seemed to wrap around Castiel's shoulders, "when a man sees a dark hole, is it not his nature to try to explore it!"

He raised his hand, pointing it to the sky - more accurately, the top of the roof. "Small-Child and Pinkie," he exclaimed, "the call to adventure calls to you both! And it says you should totally come on an adventure with Lloyd and Cas."

Darkness. Lloyd supposed that "darkness" was the most apt term for the situation. He couldn't see a thing. His mask didn't help, either. The small eye-holes let even less light in. It would seem that he was alone in this pitch-black metal death-trap. Well, he thought this until he heard someone speak. While he couldn't discern what the voice was saying, he knew that there was only one voice. Rather odd that only one person would hold a conversation. He contemplated staying silent and remaining in his carriage, but suddenly, a quiet crunch crunch resounded through the air. Whatever caused that noise certainly wouldn't be friendly.

Lloyd decided that the best course of action would be getting prepared for whatever would happen. He quickly did a lunge, his legs stretching as he crept closer to the ground. If anything, he would be prepared to run away if something bad happened. He grabbed his ball and chain, opened the door and stepped through. It was dark, save for the fire that burnt a rather large distance away. More voices. This time, they were audible.

"Is anybody else out there?"

The words emanated through the darkness. Well, Lloyd was definitely out there. He froze for a brief moment before lifting up the ball. A light began to shine upon wherever that voice came from. Whoever was calling out would either be illuminated by the lantern's glow or witness the rather spooky face carved into the lantern spew out light.

"Greetings, voice!" Lloyd yelled out. He was excited. Meeting other people was sure to bring safety and excitement to this time of darkness.

Neno

As their conflict ended, Neno finally righted himself. For the entire ordeal he had been on his back taking shelter from the occasional blast and blood-curdling scream. The captain spoke to all of them. Something about burning any identification, searching the enemy for anything that's essential, and gathering the rest.

Truthfully, he couldn't hear anything that the commander actually said over the distance between them, the ringing in his ears, and the beating of his own heart.

He decided to investigate the one he killed. Even looking at him, Neno was uncomfortable. The long thin wound stretching across his neck, only to stop at the disjointed nape. Only giving a cursory glance, Neno memorized as much about the man as he could. His facial appearance, the snake tattoo, everything that didn't require Neno to touch the man. Thankfully, he didn't look like he was an Arcadian, which was good enough for Neno. He quickly left the corpse to rot, heading back to the main group.

The others had already said their findings. Neno had nothing new to add to the group. Of course, he could have said something, but anything he could have said would have been rather redundant.
Neno

As the flames of their camp flickered from the belated winter winds, Neno enjoyed his meal. In all honesty, he didn't like it. The thick meat was much too gamy. There was no fat to congeal, nor melt in one's mouth. Only the thin broth managed to make the meat edible. His mother's stew was much better than this. In fact, he was sure than an ape could make a better meal than what he had before him. Despite Neno's critiques, he still greedily gobbled the meal down. It was the only actual meal he had eaten in a long time. The thoughts of hardtack, cheap preserved meats, and ancient vegetables managed to be an effective means of flavouring an otherwise drab meal.

However, as he tried to savour what little of a meal he had left, an unknown man began to yell a warning. Neno looked over right as gun shots rang through the camp. It was as if the world froze. Not a single sound was made, besides for the ringing of his ears. In the brief respite of combat, Neno's mind processed one thing: all hell was going to break loose.

What little stew was left in his bowl was quickly dropped as he scrambled for cover. He needed to understand what was happening. Without so much as an ounce of hesitation, he dove behind a fallen tree and began to look around. They were surrounded, save for a single exit up a rocky hillside. It was an easy escape for Neno, except for the riflemen. If they had caught him rappelling up the hillside, he would be an easy target.

The only way to escape would be to rout them. Or kill them. Either or.

The enemy seemed to be set up to have two guards protecting one rifleman. It was a viable strategy in most battles. However, that would only be if the guards could protect the rifleman. Already forming a half-baked plan, Neno tugged on his scarf. It quickly disassembled into ribbons, twisting around his arms and his back. The length on his right arm quickly tightened into a single thread and twisted along the ground towards one of the groups.

Neno turned his body, his back along the ground and his legs bent the thick collapsed tree trunk, as if he was preparing to jump and slide across the ground. His thread quickly contorted along the ground and behind the rifleman's cronies. It slid past the rifleman, instead bending up a tree and along a thick branch. As if it were a snake, the thread lashed out at the rifleman. It quickly wrapped around his neck. Without so much as an ounce of hesitation, the thread tightened into wire, yanking the rifleman off of his feet. An unexpected snap echoed to Neno. The rifleman was most likely dead from the sudden jolt of the wire around his throat, but Neno didn't take any sort of chance. The wire cut deeper and deeper into the rifleman's neck as Neno kept reeling the thread in.

That was one rifleman down.
