"Eh?" A confused Dahlia sputtered as she leapt from being startled. She'd been ganked from behind by a mid- pallum. One that looked incredibly busy, judging by the large bag she carried on each hip. She had given directions to main street, but main street wasn't exactly where Dahlia wanted to be. It was much too dirty, what with all of the foot traffic there. Punctuating her directions with calling Dahlia pretty and implying something bad might happen to her here was lost on Dahlia's mind. Really, it just went straight over her head. Instead, Dahlia began to sputter in her own confusion as the pallum walked away.

No, she couldn't let it end here. She needed to bite her tongue until it bled! Wait, that was an allegory for something else. She had to join a familia, so she would start here! She bore the crest of the familia outside. Perhaps this was meant to be her entry in!

"Wa-wait!" She called out to the pallum. "I'd like to, er, apply to your familia." She paused for a brief moment, staring down the pallum as she realized that she missed out on a crucial step. As though a literal candle had been lit over her head, she pulled out her book before turning to the very first page. Inside, a single loose piece of paper that had been filled with writing.

"Here's my application," she said, "may I ask that you bring it to your god?"
I think all bases are covered. Just for clarification, aside from the whole shedding and manipulating of skin, she can also propel it and in a way, move it around in a telekinetic-type manner?

She can't really control it if she's not touching it, so she can only shoot it like a gun. Straight lines only with a single impulse.

If she's holding it, like a whip, she can control it so long as she's focused.
if anything's a little sparse, just holla at me for some elaboration.

i missed the interest check but i'm interested in this so i'll be working on something
Was that a massive rock flying his way? Without any time to think, they had been ambushed by a horde of apes. Ettamri's battlecry sure didn't do anything to help them. Taking a deep breath, he was ready to take charge. The rock was already flying when he had seen it. There was no time to chant. Hell, his chant may not have even been enough. Instead, he chose the safest option for both him and his healer. With all of the strength and speed he could possibly muster, he ran out of the boulder's path. He took Katya with him, wrapping his free arm around her torso to make sure she was pulled out of the line of site. Then, magic began to form around at the end of his staff. Magical energy began to collect as a sigil formed pointed at the rock-throwing ape. Then, formless became form as a spear made out of ice slowly emerged from the spear, growing in size as the winter winds blew snow onto it.

Then, without any hesitation, he fired it at the rock-throwing ape. A mild discouragement, would it not be? Even if it was a glancing blow, the freezing effect of his icicle spear could slow down any action.
and I swear to god my left arm is buff af now

we're going to shitpost to one image and one image only
Routine, routine, routine: that's what Dahlia had been doing. Like most days, she had leapt out of her bed minutes before 6 AM. After spending those minutes cleaning herself up and putting on her work clothes, she went to work on the morning preparations for the library. Her morning duties primarily included moving carts for the other, more withered scholars and doing a cursory inspection on the state in which the library was is. After all, for the more educated city folk, the knowledge that was being held within the library's walls was a necessity. The knowledge of the world that had been collected over generations was housed primarily in this place. Most could only read common books of no historical importance. The more... rare books had a tendency to fall apart if one so much as glanced at a page incorrectly. Such was the life of a book. Paper had a tendency of lasting no more than a few dozen years, especially if the keeper of the book kept it as a coaster.

At exactly 8 AM, Dahlia got out of her clean, sanitary work clothes and put on her thick outside garments. Kept far away from any book rarer than 'Basic Arithmatic for Children', the garments contained the dust and undesirable particulates that the outside world so often contained. Even though she did her best to clean and detox her outside clothes, they could never fully get clean, so it would seem. Well, that didn't quite matter. They were just going to get dirty once again. Leaving towards a cafe that would open its doors at 8 (considering how the proprietor also lived there), she went to grab her breakfast.

Of course, she would eat the same thing that she ate for breakfast every day: a cup of tea, a cup of milk, a handful of roasted berries, and a considerably sized piece of bread. As she chomped down on her meal, something caught her eye. On the ground, somebody else's berry had fallen and made a new home. A greedy fly slowly buzzed down, circled it, and landed. Brief curiosity enthralled Dahlia as she looked at the fly. Well, as good as an opportunity as any. Slowly reaching for a book kept on her hip, she would begin to mark down the interactions of the fly. Suddenly, a second fly began to buzz for the same meal. What was going to happen? Were the flies friends and going to share, or were they enemies and they were willing to fight tooth and nail, er, proboscis and tarsus for the last piece of discarded roastberry? The second fly made his move! It quickly buzzed down onto the back of the first fly and—

Oh. Oh my.

With her breakfast out the way, it was time for Dahlia to figure out what she was going to do for the day. After all, it was finally the day in which she would start her sabbatical. Though, the details of which were a bit fuzzy. The plan was that she, the strongest of the scholars (which wasn't saying much), was to become an adventurer to verify and record all of the information pertaining to the labyrinth. Of course, the idea for it was her own. Even though she wanted to stick to her simple routine of waking, working, sleeping, she felt a dreamlike compulsion to create her future magnum opus: an encyclopedia.

Well, she needed to break the ice with a familia first. Every journey began with a single step. It was more like a couple thousand for Dahlia, though. Unable to gain the resolve, she had spent a few hours pacing outside of a large fenced house that bore the banner of Athena. She'd gain the courage later. After all, her sabbatical was rather long. She could spend some time getting the courage. She could afford that.
