Also, I like how Locke thinks so highly of himself even after having had his ass handed to him by one of the lower lifeforms... xD

Chimpanzees will rip your face off, but I still think I'm better than them.

"I suppose my curiosity got the best of me," Locke said as he stopped the offer of food with a simple gesture. He wasn't exactly gracious about eating another's food. Who knew what sort of savage ingredients one could have added, even if she did have the visage of a noble. Those who came from below were often dumb, disgusting creatures.

The relative peace that the two shared had been broken by the sound of a collapsing building. Such chaos was not unexpected, but it was too close for comfort. Was it the result of some rapscallion who only knew to destroy, or was it just aging architecture. The more important question was, was this a sign of a threat or not. If dangerous people had been closing in, then that they would have to fight again. To fight again so soon was not how a mage made do.

"Be ready." He told Artemisia. It was better to be prepared than not to be.

Footsteps came from the way of the wreckage. Were they even footsteps? If they were, they must have been someone of considerable stature for him to hear them all the way from over there. If need be, he'd let the other handle all of the diplomacy. It wasn't like anyone in the group was good at it, but Locke was especially bad. Not in the sense of him being completely unamiable. Moreso, he sincerely wished to not to capitulate to lower forms of life.
What nation do y'all wanna citizenship in?

horogi for eastern aesthetic, because east asia is too powerful of an MMO setting
i don't mind the starting zone though, since brawler is pretty setting agnostic.

Do you have any particular ideas for how characters would know each other out-of-game?

being friends outside of the game is probably the easiest

a discord group of super-friends is probably the easiest and most plausible, especially if we all do different countries

Got any character concepts you're leaning towards or set on?

some form of wacky tank. leaning to more brawler-y, involving dodging and parrying blows while horking bricks at people. Something that 100% should not be a tank but still tanks.
in terms of the person behind it, tryhard raider that's decided to finally play the hot new game on the block with friends
yes
Y'all got room for another?

yes but it might be some time to introduce a character in a way that makes narrative sense
FF14 has basically consumed my life between college work and quarantine boredom. Getting a post up before the update, sorry for any kind of delay if you wanted me to post sooner.

Northwest District - Spice Tea

"Eh?," Aya replied without much thought, "if you were just doin' business in a laundromat, then where is your laundry?"

Rather than an accusatory gotcha, Aya's tone was much more airheaded and innocent. She legitimately didn't know why someone would ever enter a laundromat and leave without their clothes. Maybe he put them away in his car first or dropped them along the way, but she didn't really think of that. She just absentmindedly said the first thing that came to mind, and that was about the laundry. She didn't really have much reason to suspect the man, besides him looking like a yakuza and having a runaway kid. His explanation was probable to Aya, so she didn't think too much of the entire running away child. It would be nice if the kid got to wake up before being taken away by the man, though.

With the rest of the group heading up to check up there, there wasn't much that he could do. He finally rose as the fairy finished mending his clothes. While the threads were more damaged and spread than before, the appearance of the clothes were just as good as before. It would take an eagle eye to even spot a difference between before and after. Such a small detail. A normal adventurer would wear something much more appropriate for adventuring. Locke was above those fools. He wore his best at all times, unless it was infeasible to do so.

Artemisia and her horse would probably stay below, watching the entrance. Locke had a choice: stay with the noble merchant while the rest of them sought the treasure, or go with them. Well, he might as well stay with Artemisia and her horse. In case something horrible came, he could just escape on Artemisia's horse. If something horrible came and he was in whatever the hole lead to, he might be trapped. Not wanting to die, he chose to kept with that horse.

He wouldn't go up with them, unless they decided to haul the horse up there with them.
