Object permeance is overrated.

The manacles are meant to target wrists/ankles? Or does it expand magically to wrap around anything that it’s fired against. In regards to ‘destroy similar chain’, are you saying here something about destroying a chain with E rank defense? Or C rank?

It's closer to a larger handcuff being with what I had in my head. It's meant to wrap around people's limbs, but it could probably latch onto a neck, skull, or large monster bit if it could surround the majority of it.

I was kind of ambivalent about the destruction, since most of the rank stuff has been weird and hard to follow. It's basically supposed to be a mix of an intentional action to break the chain and it making sense that it would break the chain. Basically, object of convenience. If someone wants to break the chain, they can. It's fun to get hit by it though since Apollo is also stuck and putting weird limitations on combat like a 12 foot tether is funny.

Ames' inn was actually getting visitors. That was something you didn't see every day. It made sense that a world as open as Cacaphony would allow for player ran businesses.

With their discord popping off at the prospect of Raime wanting to become a modern man's H. H. Holmes, Mags had to take a few breaths to avoid laughing at the idea of a moving murder hotel. To Ames, this was a pretty big moment. Raime wanting to go immediately down the route of murder hobo was pretty good. Though, in this case, would it be murder hotelier?

Well, Mags would do her best to support her friend. They've been through thick and thin together, especially when they accidentally performed a mating dance with oni.

Good times.

With a smile and a wave of strange brew in her hand, she greeted the new arrivals.

"Hey hey, what brings you to this lil corner of a warzone?" She was at least amiable and not about to rustle and tussle with strangers.

Though, her actual intentions for staying around weren't entirely pure. A small part of her was hoping that the party ended up being a group of much weaker murder hobos. Then, Mags could play the part of a bouncer. It would be pretty fun to pick people up and toss them out of the hotel. Though, at this rate, the only person she'd have to toss out of the hotel would be Raime.

Well, that fight was taken care of. Apollo didn't really expect it, but his words actually seemed to work. It just went to prove that, really, all they needed to do to work together was put a very punchable face between them. Though, Apollo might have just been calling a kettle black.

A wounded Billy came back alongside battered Binky. And then came a third, the doctor herself. Really, could there be one day when there just wasn't a shitfest? That day would have to be when everyone would put on their big kid pants and talk it out like functional members of society. That day would never come, so it would seem.

"You're god damn right I can call people morons." Apollo shot back at the bad doctor. "Ever heard of the word 'due process'. It's in the constitution. You should read it some time." Despite saying this, Apollo hadn't actually read the constitution.

"I can't be pissed to do anything at this point. I'm going to go get shitfaced. See you losers next week when some new fucking thing happens. God knows what. Probably some fucking third thing that forces everyone to work together." And with that, Apollo went to leave the mansion. Though, he did give everyone else in the room a salute with 10% of his fingers.

He did stop for a brief second as he passed by the shambling boy.

"You want a beer or something, kid?" He asked, scratching the back of his head.

"Yea it's the money, what other reason would I be doing this shit?" Apollo replied to Su. "And I also know that GEMINI is kind of shooting me today. So, you know, not the best metric."

When Su brought up the ghost esper, Apollo still snapped back. "Yea. Ghost. Floats through walls. Currently lacks an arm. Strangleable throat."

And lo and behold, he appeared. Really, Apollo couldn't even be mad at this point. He just boiled over and there was nothing left in his anger pot. With the appearance of a woman with a rocket launcher and the protector, Apollo took a really long breath. Every fight really was just a clown car, wasn't it? Maybe one day he'd have a nice two men enter, one man leaves. Today wasn't even close to that day.

As the chandelier swung, it was apparent that the dark was going to take over the room soon enough. So, Apollo did what any support would do in this situation. With a brief moment of focus, he imbued the remains of the statue with light, bathing it in a radiant light. While not nearly as powerful as his flashbang, it still gave enough light to hopefully reveal enough of room after the chandelier would break. Though, it was only for a brief moment. Who knew that creating a simple light would take so much mana?

And from there, well, Apollo just ran around with furniture coming after him. He wasn't about to be killed by the supporting cast of Beauty and the Beast, that's for sure.

With bullets coming down, Apollo gave a quick sprint to behind cover. Why this? Everyone here had something better to do.

If Klava asked, Apollo would oblige, even if it looked like steam was about to blast out of both ears and his scalp was going to pop off. Despite not having a face to express, the sheer anger seemed to warp his face enough for it to be very apparent.

"Really, all of you are FUCKING morons," Apollo yelled to both sides. He certainly was even more angry this time around. "Oooh, let's go fight in the middle of enemy territory, where there's some Esper skulking in the walls and probably some more pyromancers just waiting to pop out of the fucking ceiling or some shit!"

Still, a ball of light was forming in Apollo's hand.

"You know, we could have just taken a break instead," he continued to rant. "Lick our wounds! Deal with something more important than fight people we'll see again in three weeks! Not make enemies out of everything you meet!"

With the aptitude that would have let him gone pro in college ball (not that he went), Apollo hurled the ball of light over cover and the statue. With some level of accuracy, the simple spell struck the ground opposite of them. It burst in a flash of light. However, despite it being a simple spell meant to reveal, it still had very explicit physical effects. The explosion of light flashed the room in a light bright enough to bind, a side-effect of the power. Even if the spell did nothing, it would still blind anyone who looked at it.

A round penetrated the area of cover Tetrad was hiding behind. Thankfully, the first one missed her thanks to luck. Apollo stuck out his mancatcher in front of her chest. The second shot struck the impenetrable metal of his weapon, the shock of it reverberating across the entire handle to his hands and arms. His skin tore as the shock ran down his arms, blood now dripping from his hands. The third shot didn't hit his weapon, but Apollo wasn't exactly paying a large amount of attention to what would happen to Tetrad.

"The word 'extrajudicial' is coming to mind here! Is everyone here just a blood-crazed maniac who goes to murder as the first solution?" He yelled back at the GEMINI agents (and also perhaps a few on his own side). "Want to use some words like big girls? Or just want to continue shooting guns because your only value comes from pulling a trigger."

He paused for a brief moment.

"Again! There's more of Justin or whoever the fuck's goons literally hiding in the walls! A bit more important than killing because a bimbo told you to!"

If there was a physical expression for the concept of seething, Mags would have been the image of a textbook of it. Yea, she knew that her nuclei was probably better in a straight fight than Ames, but it was so much cooler. Well, Mags threw that out of her mind pretty quickly, especially since Ames revealed that this place was actually a Sims money sink.

"I unno, it's nice." Mags replied to an embarrassed Ames. She definitely wasn't as brown-nosing as Raime, though. "My virtual houses usually end up as surreal nightmares of hundreds of tables forming a maze to trap people."

However, the proposition of freshly cooked bread--even if virtual-- was enough to shift Mags' mood to enjoyment. Damn, she liked bread. Black vinegar was a bit gross as the acidity reminded her more of vomit if anything. However, fresh bread and olive oil. That was a certified classic.

Almost immediately taking up the majority of the couch, Mags could finally get some R&R after so much poopsocking.

With the breakthrough, Apollo could finally have some breathing room. One moment where he didn't have to think and do anything... Kidding, Klava sped off immediately. He was going to heal her and solve the entire broken bones thing. If she ran in this state, her rib would pierce her lung or some shit. That was bad for business, seeing as how the maiden was somehow becoming a recurring associate in every single mission.

"Fucker," he said as he ran after her.

Though, when he caught up, he did notice the brutally assailed child who was with them on the mission earlier. Well, Apollo could probably do his job now. With his large hand reaching out and gripping the small child's head, a wave of healing came over him. His body would be fine but his mind still seemed kinda wounded. Having his head gripped like a bowling ball probably didn't help, but hey, he was crying before Apollo came along.

Seriously, why was there a child here?

Brize Kawara | Cash

@Fading Memory

While Brize probably could have gotten herself out using her power and enhanced abilities, she also didn't want to plummet onto concrete if she messed up. She had to make a plan first. Or, in the case of a flying Butterfly, get the help of someone else.

"24,304,512 yen," came Brize's immediate reply, "same for a while, with the majority of it being the value of your tech." With Butterfly pulling on the rope once again and asking for a raised amount, Brize furled her brow in response. A brief look of annoyance washed over her. Just as quickly as the look on her face came, it left after some brief calculations.

"23,304,304 yen."

Still, Butterfly was nice enough to carry her down even with her value being reduced for being an ounce harder to work with than previous days. Though, Butterfly didn't have to carry Brize down like she was a sack of potatoes. She knew she was small and light, but being tossed over a shoulder and brought directly inside of the club was a bit much.

Still, the two of them went inside and prepared for the meeting.

Well, someone else took the bullet. Shame, really. Would have been nice to just not deal with the ghost anymore. With a sudden tight fit, Apollo looked back to see a woman sandwiched between his ass and a barrel. Though, she did pop out and fall a short distance, blood splattering on the ground as she landed.

When Billy asked him if he could do anything about the spirits spirit, Apollo gave a fairly reasonable answer for once.

"Nope. One trick horse at this point, either I heal or throw orbs."

He'd at least do his job for once. With mostly everyone in range, a burst of healing and defence emanated from Apollo. If they had to bust on through, he'd at least try to make sure they all lived. Klava and the other's deep wounds could be healed afterwards. What was more important was breaking through.

The protector did get the kids. That made it a lot easier for Apollo as he didn't have to haul them out for information. He just had to worry about what was ahead and go along for the ride.
