I still can't work out who is where so I'm just gonna say I'm in the alley.
Alright, since I must be walking into this main alleyway can someone please let me know what scene I am walking into?

Plz n thnx XD
@PlatinumSkink@Xandrya@Crossfire

I have decided and made the call that our current conversation is taking place just outside the elevator between location 13 and 14.
(War room/CIC) and (Armoury, medbay)
Still in the hallway.
Arex

Location: The Revenant.
Interacting with: @Xandrya @Crossfire
***

Arex took opportunity of the dash to the quarters to go stash his supply of pilfered food.

He was caught off guard when Grayson crashed into another crew member. He stared unapologetically at the blonde haired girls hazel eyes with an intrigued puzzlement. For the most part he remained still and silent as he studied her. Looking for a hint of recognition or a glimpse of focal adjustment in her eyes, any sign that would say this was all a tactical facade and she wasn't truly blind.

He found no such thing.

After an awkward pause he gently breaks the silence.
"I'm Arex. he announces. "Pleasure to meet you." he put his warm welcoming smile into his words, and did well at hiding the plethora of curiosities.

Her condition gave her an appearance of vulnerability. A short step to sympathy. Her soft lulling voice and admittedly good looks made her somewhat easy to be around. With these things combined she would be an easy person to trust and even easier adversary to underestimate. There was no doubt in Arex's mind that she was even sharper witted then she would let on.

But that wasn't what troubled him the most, it was the strange vague familiarity and the unrecognisable sense of déjà vu.

If they were anywhere else he would not be so suspicious. But they were not anywhere else, they were on a ship full of misfits and killers, off to do someone else's dirty work. Voluntary or not.

He would be careful of this one.

"What brings a lady like you to a floating hell like this?" he turns on just a faint hint of charm as he questions the female crewmate.

@Dark Lightdo you want this to feel like a table top? Not that I'm opposed but between the stats for the characters and an opulence rating it's wandering into the realm of table top. Also I'm in the process of getting a new job so you want see a cs till like this weekend maybe Monday.

Once the gameplay starts it shouldn't feel too table-topy.
But like a 'good' table top I want the pre-game and in-game choices to matter.
I won't bend with the stats. Personally I need that to know who is the strongest and actually can kick down that door, ect ect.
I normally prefer fallouts SPECIAL for more detail.

Skills we could get rid of the scores and just say major/minor.

Lastly money. Like I said I want it to be an issue but coin counting will be a diabolical pain! (We can do it if everyone wants.)
I like wealth level.
I'll find a better way to describe it in game instead of 1 to 5
I'm also going to restrict some posh planets if you don't have a high enough credit rating. The amount of money you have just determines your class and lifestyle you can live.

@Crossfire
Hey CF, you reckon you will have a post up soon?
Just curious :)
@WeepingLiberty

Ahh I did thing.
I hope it was a good thing.
It's a long thing...

Did it make sense?
Arden

Kill the Spyder
Concerning:@WeepingLiberty@Rune_Alchemist@Dark Light

Arden found himself safe from the horrendous creatures movements when it suddenly let out a horrifying, ear shattering scream. A thing of nightmares. It echoed so loud and caught him by such surprise that it sent him staggering towards the floor. No sooner had the nauseating dizziness stopped, then the ground began to violently tremble. A confused panic struck Arden as he quickly looked around just in time to see large thorny vines sprout up from newly opened cracks and viciously entangle the giant monster.
For a short moment he was simply awestruck by the sheer power of such a binding.
Just a moment earlier before the thundering scream he had heard a sickening thud that left him assuming the worst, now he was relieved and found a slimmer of hope and confidence in the presence of such great magic.

It took Arden a moment to get the torch down from its holder as he rushed at the task. With it in hand he looked back at the eye-less beast and the chaos ensuing.
Eye-less. He suddenly felt very stupid as in his initial panic he had gotten ahead of himself. He couldn't blind something with no eyes...
Yet this was the only place so far with magical torches and if they weren't meant for the creature to see intruders then it was meant for the intruders to see the creature.
Did the monster sense movement or fear, maybe it was neither and just smell. Arden didn't really have the luxury of time to ponder such things, he needed to act.

With a bit of magic and a bit of force he sucked on his own tongue until a familiar taste abruptly swept his tastebuds, blood filled his mouth. He was no fire Mage like his master, who would have easily cooked this beast by now, but that didn't mean he hadn't learnt a few pyrokinetic tricks.
Raising the flame of the torch to his lips, a huge fearsome fireball suddenly erupted from the other side. The dazzling bright flames radiated with a burning heat as they toiled and rolled over itself, rising up into the air but never extinguishing. There was no longer any fire on the torch as he had consumed it all for this large floating fiery orb. Within its core something darkened and took shape, some sort of blood-bird, as large as an eagle. The fiery creature was silent except for the rush of its flames.

Within seconds the fire-ball bird began viscously swooping the spider monsters, leaving sizzling splashes of flame behind with every attack. Also with every attack the conjured creature slightly shrunk and the flames dulled as it left behind a part of itself.
With the spider hindered by the binding Arden freely directed his pet to the most vulnerable spots he could find. Leg joints, open segments, it's underbelly. But it all seemed futile. The spider cared not of the little burns, but Arden's plan was not yet over.

With a splinter from the torch he took the ash and marked his magic parchment, by now his fiery bird was but a dull glow. Arden's artwork finished just as the creature tore free one of its giant claws. He couldn't see what it was striking at but his work was complete. The bird, now no bigger than a bat, flew in front of an oncoming attack. Arden spat the last dribble of blood from his mouth onto the altered protection charm.
Then something truly magical happened....

It would take a moment of aftermath to realise what Arden had done. The creature roared in true pain as the pieces fell together. What was once a defensive spell used to divert energy and force away from a blood source for protection now instead pinpointed that same force and energy at the very source it once protected.
So as the monster struck Arden's blood familiar, the same blood on the parchment, the full force of that attack was spread out across every burning mark it had strategically placed on the creature.
In one foul and viscous swoop it had attacked itself ten-fold.

However...

Arden could not rejoice in this wounding blow. He had done his best to differentiate the blood from his mouth with his own but the magic saw through it and some of the residual energy triggered within him. Suddenly shock and horror took his face as he was hit with the realisation of his failings. The whites of his eyes instantly splattered with red as the blood vessels there burst. The Crimson liquid trickled freely from his nose. His flesh went pale and clammy as one hand clutched at his chest and the other at the wall, failing to slow his stumbling fall.
I'm thinking of having Amy be on her way to her room then come across Grayson and Arex. Or should I just wait?

Ahh I should of read that before posting, oh well. Bump into us as we head to the Armory :)
@Lady of Lore@Themerlinhawk@RumikoOhara@TheUnknowable

Just a reminder there is an OOC.
I'm still here guys where's everyone else at?

Also I like the financial struggles of firefly but don't want to be bogged down by coin counting so I am thing using a system roughly like modern D20
As a crew you will have two financial ratings. Plat's & Cred's.
1= broke poor, to 5= wealthy extravagant.
You will be paid for jobs on this scale too.

If you have an average rating of three and you are buying simple to average supplies and doing just the necessary repairs and maintenance your score will not drop for a few weeks. An average job will supplement your funds and allow you to keep going.
Without a job they will drop,
I'll warn you in advance before doing so.
Even with a score of three you can still splash out and by something with a value of 5 but this will drop your score.
Alternatively you can live below your means and your funds will last much longer. (But will your spirits?)
