I don't know why I find this interesting. Resident Evil is something I've played and the games I don't care for but this RP just beckons to me. It is quite odd. Hmmm decisions decisions.... Quick question, are bow and arrow allowed?

YES, you can have a Bow and Arrow, (since it kind of appears in the series. Bowgun@Skwint) Just know that your arrows are definitely going take a small (DAMAGE) penalty, but I'm definitely curious now to see how you handle yourself in an urban horror setting with bow&arrow.

Thanks for the suggestion and I understand your concern, but I don't want to discourage people from joining the RP. (Also anyone who drops the RP automatically becomes a meal for the zombies and provides an opportunity for our characters to flee in the meanwhile.) Will ceased repairs on the train cables and promptly ran in the direction of police sirens and shrill, dying screams. There was a definite commotion in the downtown area of RC, and although Will ran for several yards towards the source of the screams, they only got louder and more panicked. As Will turned the corner onto
[ENNERDALE & EMA STREET], he witnessed a handful of police officers aiming their gun at two men wrestling in the open streets. One of the brawling men seemed to be bleeding from the mouth, and had a slightly green, nauseated complexion. (Probably a drunkard, Will thought.)

The aggressive alcoholic assaulted the other man, who wore a two-piece pinstripe suit. The businessman was now clearly frantic, his strength obviously failing him; the businessman was having trouble holding back the violent haggard. The violent, homeless individual held him by the torso, and would not let go, much to the discomfort of the professionally-dressed businessman. The bloodied vagrant began baring his teeth at his victim, like a rabid dog. The victim made the mistake of trying to punch the hobo in the face, but the instant the businessman's arms swung back for the punch, the deranged creature lunged at the other man's neck.

Confusion and horror were evident on the businessman's face; as he pried the insane drunkard off him, off came a slice of his own neck, still caught between the bloody maniac's teeth. The creature backed off momentarily, appearing to savor the sinew it tore from the businessman's throat. It was at this moment that Will recalled local reports of a "cannibal disease" affecting the Raccoon City hospital, and he also recalled the possibility of this being a bacterial infection of some sort, although the Raccoon Weekly did tend to sensationalize some headlines to increase readership of its newspaper.

"Guuurglllrh...SHOOT...glurgh....HIM!" the businessman managed to spit out two words between the sounds of him coughing up his own blood.

Will backed away several meters from the gruesome scene and ducked behind a Raccoon Police Department cruiser. He looks helplessly into the RPD officer's eyes:
[Will:]"F-f-fuck! Did that sick guy just bite that man in the neck?"

[Officer:]"All civilians must be vacate the streets. It's not safe here, get the fuck outta here kid! Find somewhere safe to hide until this blows over. RUN!" the officer shooed Will away as if he was a young child. The officer's badge said 'Branagh', Will made a mental note of that as he fled east. Where the hell was Will going to find safety among the outbreak?
Home? His apartment complex had over 40 tenants, if even 1 of them was infected....
Mom? Dad? No, Will had no family in Raccoon City. Will headed towards the only other venue, besides the trainyard, he and his coworkers frequented -- "Hopefully the guys are ok are still getting hammered at [JACK'S BAR]. I'm gonna head over there."

Story

The Raccoon Incident was a days-long ordeal that eventually culminated in the nuclear destruction of Raccoon City, with all trace of its 100,000 citizens decimated in the wake of Umbrella's scandal. The T-Virus and G-Virus were mistakenly unleashed on the city via the sewage and water systems, infecting hundreds and eventually thousands over the span of a month (August-September. Umbrella Pharmaceuticals, a multi-billion dollar leader in Big Pharma, held Raccoon City hostage with it's experiments, due to the company's philanthropy and financing of public infrastructure. The leaders of Raccoon City were on Umbrella's payroll, and the research technicians and employees kept silent as Umbrella committed heinous (not to mention illegal) experiments under the guise of virus research. The setting will be familiar to fans of the RE series - Raccoon City is our playground in this RP.

[THE OUTBREAK]

TIMELINE

TIMELINE:
-[06/07/1998: Birkin's G-Virus experiments produced biohazardous waste which was incorrectly disposed of. Employees at a Disposal Plant for "Biohazard" waste, including organic materials and blood, are infected promptly.
-[06/16/1998:] 'The Raccoon Weekly' publishes a story related to the ongoing murders in the Arklay mountains. It describes the sightings of vicious wild pack dogs in the forest and warns the public of their dangerousness.[8]
-[07/24/1998:] Mansion Incident, the Arklay Manor and Laboratory was demolished after a self-destruction of the complex was initiated from within. T-Virus escapes into city.
-[08/17/1998:] T-Virus infected zombies and other monstrosities were now prowling the city, isolated reports of a "cannibal disease" in RC hospitals littered the newspapers. The media acted slowly and did not question Umbrella's monopoly over the city infrastructure.
-[09/01/1998:] Thomas, an elderly waste disposal employee gets infected in early September and begins craving human flesh.
-[09/15/1998:] Umbrella calls in mercenary corps UBCS to dispose of the zombies and other BOW's rampaging through the city.
-[09/20/1998:] Chief Irons tipped off by Dr. Birkin that agents were moving through RC's sewer system with explosives.
-[09/23/1998:] U.S.S. Alpha Team, led by agent HUNK, arrived at Birkin's facility, killing Dr. William Birkin accidentally to retrieve the [T-Virus] & [G-Virus]. The injured Birkin infected himself with a remaining G-Virus sample.
-[09/24/1998:] Patrons at Apple Inn, some of whom were infected by the T-Virus, were holed up in a local hotel run by a paranoid owner. The owner installed a new security system recently which became triggered during [The Outbreak] and locked the guests within the Apple Inn.
-[09/24/1998:] Robert Kendo is providing asylum to scared civilians in his store, KENDO GUN SHOP. No more firearms left.
-[09/24/1998:] Patrons at Jack's Bar receive a radio transmission from the RPD before the signal cut off. The transmission told them to hole up and bar any entrances and wait for the RPD's help.
-[09/25/1998:] Last evacuation of citizens. Those who did not manage to get out by this date are trapped inside Raccoon City.
-[09/26/1998:] Raccoon City Hospital is overtaken and cordoned off from the rest of the city.
-[09/27/1998:] The city collapses and the zombie horde overwhelm Raccoon City. Crashed and abandoned vehicles as well as dead burning bodies littered the streets. Many buildings burned uncontrollably as the RC Fire Department first became overwhelmed by city-wide infernos (and then the firefighters themselves becoming infected.)
Hordes of zombies filled the streets and overran the last remnants of the Raccoon City Police Department is lost to the zombie outbreak after a battle in the city streets on the night of September 27th.
-[09/28/1998:] Delta Platoon, led by Cpt. Mikhail Viktor, Sgt. Nikholai Zinoviev and Cpl. Carlos Oliveira deployed. Only Carlos Oliveira and Jill Valentine reached the evacuation point and were helicoptered out of the city by S.T.A.R.S member Barry Burton.
-[09/30/1998:] Claire Redfield learns how to make the [G-Virus Vaccine] from Umbrella Researcher Annette Birkin.
-[09/30/1998:] The Night of September 30th, the military enacted their [STERILIZATION OPERATION] upon Raccoon City. and a missile was deployed to eliminate the Viral threat.

This RP takes place over the span of 6 days (09/24 ~ 09/30) meaning this RP has a foreseeable END. The RP will stop once we reach September 30th. On September 30th, the city is going to be nuked and that won't be changing in this RP, but the decisions you make leading up to the Sterilization of Raccoon City can make some difference and perhaps even ensure the survival of others, also trapped in RC.
-1. Your characters are trapped in Raccoon City, with thousands of zombies surrounding whatever shelter you chose to hole yourself up in. There are still [Survivors] out there - will you risk your own neck to save them or say "Fuck them" and get out of RC as soon as possible?
-2. Perma-death is obviously a thing in this RP, but will generally be reserved for players who drop out of the RP.
-3. Your goal is simple: EVACUATE RACCOON CITY BY SEPTEMBER 30th.
-4. Teamwork is key to surviving the zombie apocalypse.

[KENDO GUN SHOP:]
Robert Kendo, the owner of the gunshop, gave away most of his inventory to civilians fleeing the city. Survivors escaping the uncontrollable fires and zombie threat managed to board up inside the gun shop. Kendo himself is still armed, and is providing refuge for the unarmed. A small stash of ammunition was found hidden under the counters, Robert Kendo's personal supply, no doubt. For now, we patched up the broken window with some large wooden boards. How long will the wood keep out the zombies pounding on the boards, you wonder.

On the 23rd, Will was preparing to end his night-shift at the Lonsdale Yard, a trainyard in the historical district of downtown Raccoon City. During his final survey of the train's components, Will discovered that one of his coworkers accidentally sliced through a major power cable in the circuitboard.

[Will:] "Shit, what a mess. How could someone miss this huge slice in the main cable? This job is gonna take some of my time." It was well past midnight by time his shift ended, but Will was a single bachelor and did not have other obligations like family to slow his work ethic down. The metro heading towards South Raccoon Station would be out of service until tomorrow morning if Will did not stay overnight to perform the repairs.

This act of kindness would eventually be Will Sampson's undoing; as he worked late into the night and into the morning of Sept. 24th --reconnecting cables and performing standard tests to ensure the functioning of Umbrella's precious public transport system -- his work was interrupted by shrill, pained screams from a male, coming from the downtown district. In the distance, Will heard a series of sirens, followed promptly by gunshots. Picking up his tools and leftover cable, Will decides he must head towards the direction of the scream and police sirens...

How did your character get stuck in Raccoon City?:

Ceder has lived in Racoon City all her life. Despite that she’d been incredibly estranged from her parents since she was very little. They were always working as they were important researchers for a large pharmaceutical company based somewhere out of the city. As a result they spent almost no time looking after her, often leaving her with friends or hiring people to look after her.

She attended high school in Raccoon City, struggling to meet friends, often embarrassing herself trying to fit in with others. Art and video games, especially those with powerful female protagonists and outrageous weapons, were a great focus and comfort for her.

A little over a month before the outbreak Ceder called her parents, asking if there was anyway she could help them or get involved with their work. It was a move made out of desperation but Ceder was surprised when they offered her a job as a clinical test subject. There was a tremendous amount of paperwork to fill out and a constantly reinforced air of secrecy.

For 30 days Ceder was kept isolated in a room and given regular injections of something, then ran through various tests at equally regular intervals. Her health rapidly began to degrade. She grew weaker, began experiencing headaches, body pains, and severe nausea. However around the third week her health improved somewhat and evened out. Not getting any better, but seemingly resistant to getting any worse.

Ceder became eager to leave, growing fearful of her condition and the tests being done to her. However those performing the tests barred her from leaving even when it was her agreed upon time to do so. For a time Ceder remained trap, until a disruption at the facility allowed her to escape and flee into the city. By the time she got outside and changed out of the patient gown she'd been stuck in Raccoon City had turned into a nightmare and she still felt sick...

[COMBAT SYSTEM]

0.] Perma-death ONLY happens if your character is knocked out [0 HP] AND there is no other player around to help you Recover HP at a [Sanctuary]. Unless you're being extremely careless and running into the arms of a zombie, you don't have to worry about your character perma-dying.

1.] Numbers Game: keep track of (DAMAGE) your character takes. HP can fall to [0 HP] in which case the player must Recover/Rest at their starting location before rejoining the team on the current [Mission].

2.] (DAMAGE) is done to your character every time he/she is bit, gnawed, chomped-on, sliced, licked, etc.

3.] [HERBS] and healing items will be plentiful, [AMMO] will not.

4.] ALL PLAYERS START WITH [100/100 HP].
Balancing your stamina: [HEAVIER Weapon = LESS Max-HP]
Your Max-HP may change when we raid the RPD for weapons.You will have less Max HP with a Grenade Launcher than a handgun, due to the physical energy/stamina it takes to hold up a heavy grenade launcher versus a weapon that can fit in someone's pocket.

Will planted one bullet in the zombie's torso, and saw cracked ribs protruding from a new hole [-15HP]. [ZOMBIE] was barely phased by the rather large crater in his chest, so Will fired his Colt SAA once more, this time just barely grazing the Zombie's shoulder[-5HP]...and when preparing for the 3rd shot, Will realized he needed to reload his [HANDGUN].
Too slow. Will allowed the undead creature too close and was bit, albeit lightly, on the arm.
"Shit..."

4. Sometimes incapacitating/disabling a Zombie with a "bullet in the zombie's leg, sending the infected mechanic to his knees" is enough to run by them unscathed. You don't have to kill every enemy, but you do have to figure out a way to get by them.

On the 23rd, Will was preparing to end his night-shift at the Lonsdale Yard, a trainyard in the historical district of downtown Raccoon City. During his final survey of the train's components, Will discovered that one of his coworkers accidentally sliced through a major power cable in the circuitboard.

[Will:] "Shit, what a mess. How could someone miss this huge slice in the main cable? This job is gonna take some of my time." It was well past midnight by time his shift ended, but Will was a single bachelor and did not have other obligations like family to slow his work ethic down. The metro heading towards South Raccoon Station would be out of service until tomorrow morning if Will did not stay overnight to perform the repairs.

This act of kindness would eventually be Will Sampson's undoing; as he worked late into the night and into the morning of Sept. 24th --reconnecting cables and performing standard tests to ensure the functioning of Umbrella's precious public transport system -- his work was interrupted by shrill, pained screams from a male, coming from the downtown district. In the distance, Will heard a series of sirens, followed promptly by gunshots. Picking up his tools and leftover cable, Will decides he must head towards the direction of the scream and police sirens...

One of those "I'm dead, one way or another" mind be of use, though their resources are nil and their job was kinda to mop up the mess...y'know...before they failed since Raccoon City got disgustingly out of hand.

Yes, definitely. I want to combine aspects of several RE games, as well as the IC posts from our characters, into a retcon Raccoon City.
Retcon within limits that stay true to the series, though. It is very possible I will use elements from ORC, RE2, RE3 and the Outbreak series.

In celebration of the Resident Evil 2 board game being announced on Kickstarter( steamforged.com/sfg-news-blog/re2tbg), I have decided to resurrect Raccoon City. You don't have to be familiar with the RE series to participate in this RP.

The Raccoon Incident was a days-long ordeal that eventually culminated in the nuclear destruction of Raccoon City, with all trace of its 100,000 citizens decimated in the wake of Umbrella's scandal. The T-Virus and G-Virus were mistakenly unleashed on the city via the sewage and water systems, infecting hundreds and eventually thousands over the span of a month (August-September. Umbrella Pharmaceuticals, a multi-billion dollar leader in Big Pharma, held Raccoon City hostage with it's experiments, due to the company's philanthropy and financing of public infrastructure. The leaders of Raccoon City were on Umbrella's payroll, and the research technicians and employees kept silent as Umbrella committed heinous (not to mention illegal) experiments under the guise of virus research. The setting will be familiar to fans of the RE series - Raccoon City is our playground in this RP.

TIMELINE:
-[06/07/1998: Birkin's G-Virus experiments produced biohazardous waste which was incorrectly disposed of. Employees at a Disposal Plant for "Biohazard" waste, including organic materials and blood, are infected promptly.
-[06/16/1998:] 'The Raccoon Weekly' publishes a story related to the ongoing murders in the Arklay mountains. It describes the sightings of vicious wild pack dogs in the forest and warns the public of their dangerousness.[8]
-[07/24/1998:] Mansion Incident, the Arklay Manor and Laboratory was demolished after a self-destruction of the complex was initiated from within. T-Virus escapes into city.
-[08/17/1998:] T-Virus infected zombies and other monstrosities were now prowling the city, isolated reports of a "cannibal disease" in RC hospitals littered the newspapers. The media acted slowly and did not question Umbrella's monopoly over the city infrastructure.
-[09/01/1998:] Thomas, an elderly waste disposal employee gets infected in early September and begins craving human flesh.
-[09/15/1998:] Umbrella calls in mercenary corps UBCS to dispose of the zombies and other BOW's rampaging through the city.
-[09/20/1998:] Chief Irons tipped off by Dr. Birkin that agents were moving through RC's sewer system with explosives.
-[09/23/1998:] U.S.S. Alpha Team, led by agent HUNK, arrived at Birkin's facility, killing Dr. William Birkin accidentally to retrieve the [T-Virus] & [G-Virus]. The injured Birkin infected himself with a remaining G-Virus sample.
-[09/24/1998:] Patrons at Apple Inn, some of whom were infected by the T-Virus, were holed up in a local hotel run by a paranoid owner. The owner installed a new security system recently which became triggered during [The Outbreak] and locked the guests within the Apple Inn.
-[09/24/1998:] Robert Kendo is providing asylum to scared civilians in his store, KENDO GUN SHOP. No more firearms left.
-[09/24/1998:] Patrons at Jack's Bar receive a radio transmission from the RPD before the signal cut off. The transmission told them to hole up and bar any entrances and wait for the RPD's help.
-[09/25/1998:] Last evacuation of citizens. Those who did not manage to get out by this date are trapped inside Raccoon City.
-[09/26/1998:] Raccoon City Hospital is overtaken and cordoned off from the rest of the city.
-[09/27/1998:] The city collapses and the zombie horde overwhelm Raccoon City. Crashed and abandoned vehicles as well as dead burning bodies littered the streets. Many buildings burned uncontrollably as the RC Fire Department first became overwhelmed by city-wide infernos (and then the firefighters themselves becoming infected.)
Hordes of zombies filled the streets and overran the last remnants of the Raccoon City Police Department is lost to the zombie outbreak after a battle in the city streets on the night of September 27th.
-[09/28/1998:] Delta Platoon, led by Cpt. Mikhail Viktor, Sgt. Nikholai Zinoviev and Cpl. Carlos Oliveira deployed. Only Carlos Oliveira and Jill Valentine reached the evacuation point and were helicoptered out of the city by S.T.A.R.S member Barry Burton.
-[09/30/1998:] Claire Redfield learns how to make the [G-Virus Vaccine] from Umbrella Researcher Annette Birkin.
-[09/30/1998:] The Night of September 30th, the military enacted their [STERILIZATION OPERATION] upon Raccoon City. and a missile was deployed to eliminate the Viral threat.

This RP takes place over the span of 6 days (09/24 ~ 09/30) meaning this RP has a foreseeable END. The RP will stop once we reach September 30th. On September 30th, the city is going to be nuked and that won't be changing in this RP, but the decisions you make leading up to the Sterilization of Raccoon City can make some difference and perhaps even ensure the survival of others, also trapped in RC.
-1. Your characters are trapped in Raccoon City, with thousands of zombies surrounding whatever shelter you chose to hole yourself up in. There are still [Survivors] out there - will you risk your own neck to save them or say "Fuck them" and get out of RC as soon as possible?
-2. Perma-death is obviously a thing in this RP, but will generally be reserved for players who drop out of the RP.
-3. Your goal is simple: EVACUATE RACCOON CITY BY SEPTEMBER 30th.
-4. Teamwork is key to surviving the zombie apocalypse.

There are only 2 sanctuaries (SAFE, zombie-free zones) left in the city, after the fall of the Raccoon Police Department. Survivors swap items and munitions here, as well as coordinate their defensive/offensive strategy for evacuating Raccoon City. Pick one of these as your Starting Location.

[KENDO GUN SHOP:]
Robert Kendo, the owner of the gunshop, gave away most of his inventory to civilians fleeing the city. Survivors escaping the uncontrollable fires and zombie threat managed to board up inside the gun shop. Kendo himself is still armed, and is providing refuge for the unarmed. A small stash of ammunition was found hidden under the counters, Robert Kendo's personal supply, no doubt. For now, we patched up the broken window with some large wooden boards. How long will the wood keep out the zombies pounding on the boards, you wonder.

Bar-and-grill that is currently sheltering the friendly bar staff, as well as some stranded patrons. Just gauging interest, would anyone else like to revive this fantasy RP? I actually worked hard on an adjoining short story, so it would be a shame to let the story die.
