People don't tend to think about rules when in disputes. Instead, just point out that whoever stops arguing first gets to see the other make a fool of themselves if they going after it all stopped.

The best part about being on the Guild this long is that nowadays, I can sit back and chuckle as the newcomers try to start a fight an instead get all the old hands ganging up on them. Popcorn for me.

Every few minutes playing Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, I tear up from the memories. It's not often you get a game that truly pulls at the same heartstrings as your childhood playthrough's once did.
Valencia had, thankfully, managed to sleep well the previous night. It had taken a little time, as she was not used to the bed (it not being the same one that she had slept in for so long), but she found it to be at least decently accommodating once she had allowed herself to settle into it's comfort. Though she doubted it, she wondered if she would have been able to send off for her own mattress, or perhaps a new one made to it's same specifications. Even if the school didn't allow it, she refused to do so anyhow after some thought, due to the embarrassment or awkwardness she may have felt if a carriage arrived with a new bed and mattress just for her.
The silver haired woman was pleasantly surprised that the first class was hosted in the Hall of Combat, especially since combat was what she had primarily been preparing for. The primary exception to that was that Valencia knew that she was catching glances. The pretty woman from last night was now in her full equipment; Black steel armour covering her from head to toe, expertly made with it's intricate patterns and freedom of movement despite it's heavy strength, her sword, Lazarus, resting in it's place in her belt, masterfully crafted to be a top-of-the-line sword, and fully enchanted with runes to be a weapon of great utility, should she call upon it's tricks. It was a stark contrast to how she looked in her uniform.
That pleasantness slipped down a shallow slope once it was revealed that the instructor, Sir Vermont, was going to be making sure they were physically ready for adventuring, which just sounded like the equivalent of physical exercise lessons. She allowed herself to believe it just for a moment, before Sir Vermont began to 'jog'. Valencia took a moment to process what was going on before she began to pursue, partially because that was what she believed she had to do, and partially because she was following the example of the others. Though she was decked out in the heavy armour, she was managing to keep up just like everyone else, clunking forward at around the same speed, though perhaps breathing a little heavier. She was determined to keep up.
Valencia was fine for the first lap, she was still doing well on the second lap, and it was on the third lap of continual running that she was just starting to feel the workout get to her. Don't stop. Keep up. Show everyone else that you're the best, because you're the one clunking around like an anvil with legs, whilst they step like horses in a plain, she thought to herself. Keeping up with the unarmoured folks was what drove her to push on.
Her confidence withered a little upon observation of the other instructor, the awesome looking one who had not came with them on the run. She was smart enough to know what was happening once he pulled out his bow. Without the use of her runes - Sir Vermont had said that no magic was allowed - she was going to have to rely on purely her armour to push her through this. Though she was able to see Dex, and roughly tell if he was aiming at her or not, she would have trouble dodging anything that came her way after running so much. So, she hoped, and was rewarded when a different student was struck by the first arrow. Sucks to be him.
However, her eyes fixed on someone she recognised from last night helping the victim of the arrow to their feet. It was a kind gesture, but whilst kindness should be paid with kindness, in this situation it was not. Valencia's eyes narrowed as Toma was pushed by the jerk, which she now recognised from the altercation at dinner the previous day. Well, it was time to get some payback. Hopefully the asshole would challenge her to a fight afterwards, and she could kick his ass without having to be sneaky about it.
The asshole, who Valencia heard was called Patrick from students he was overtaken (yelling at him in frustration), began to catch up to her, clearly planning to just overtake her from the right. She allowed him to move just a bit closer, almost in line with her... And then jutted out her right arm, stopping in her tracks. Whilst a few more students were able to overtake her, she still wasn't in last, and the result was what she hoped for; He ran straight into her arm, caught on it, and was clotheslined, falling onto his back with a yell. "See you next year!" Valencia called to him, as she started running once more to get back into the middle of the pack. There was a satisfied smirk on her face.
She wasn't out of it yet, however. Valencia separated her arms from her sides a little, to provide a buffer between them and her body should she get hit by the mysterious yet wondrous Dex's arrows, to take some of the impact. Combined with her armour, she figured she wouldn't get knocked down from a hit itself, though would have to watch her footing to make sure she didn't trip over herself from it. What she didn't do was follow the example of Rodrick, who appeared to have started running faster. All that would do is sap at her strength and make her all the more likely to fall over if she was hit. Ducking her head down a little, she continued to pound the ground with her feet, clunking away as she continued to run.
After all, if others fell over and she didn't, she wouldn't come last.
Demographics: 99.96% Space-living, 0.04% Oria-living. A demographic that doesn't matter much, however within the Zelrio Corporation, it is known that anyone working on the planet that moves to space is destined to become at least a middle-class member of society if they put sufficient time in, due to the high pay awarded as a result of the high danger of working and living on the planet.
Population: 276 Million

Planet Name and Description: Oria
It was a name picked by the astronomer that found the planet, a combination of his daughter's name, Aria, and the word Ore, of which the planet had plentiful. The planet was joked by some astronomers to be a giant ball of gold just floating in space, however the truth was that it was incredibly rich in ores and minerals of varying kinds, and a fortune for whoever landed upon it and took up the responsibility of mining it out. Today, those materials are mined out in plentiful numbers by the colonists (though, primarily by automated equipment).
Oria, however, was not uninhabited before the arrival of Humans. A species known as the Vacuarians were it's previous ruling inhabitants. Governed by hive minds, the Vacuarians are akin to man-sized insects, almost like ants. Brutally hostile to Humanity arriving on their planet, they wildly attack anyone that they take notice of, and are the primary threat that Humanity faces on Oria. However, they are not the only threat. The atmosphere is toxic to be breathed by itself, requiring a filtering process to be made breathable. The Vacuarians, and other native fauna, are capable of living within Oria's atmosphere.
History: Upon arriving at Oria, a test of the atmosphere confirmed that it was not breathable. Whilst people originally began to panic, soon they had a small colony started on the planet, however still mostly lived out of the colony ship. Research was put into filtering out the bad bits of the atmosphere and making it breathable, and in the meanwhile, life support from the ship was pumped into the colony's buildings. It was a haphazard setup, but it worked, and the most that they had to worry about was the local fauna getting riled up, to which security cut down quickly. A local species was identified as the Vacuarians, and was labelled as not friendly to Humans, and not friendly to eat. The first settlement was named Hellgorth, a fitting name for the hell that many believed that they had landed themselves in.
Four years down the line, there had been problem after problem. The planet was becoming unbearable to live on, and with the Gateway closed, the colonists could not retreat and call the landing a failure. The newly formed Zelrio Corporation was using what shuttles the company owned to build itself a small facility in space in order to cut down on costs planetside, and to get itself a head-start for the space stage of the colony. However, the space stage, rather than coming when the planet had multiple settlements in place, came a lot earlier than expected. With all the problems occurring, none could compare to the colony coming under unexpected attack.
On the fifth year of the colony, the Vacuarians revealed themselves to be more than just mindless fauna. The first attack was small, albeit unexpected, however soon enough more attacks came, sometimes days apart, sometimes weeks apart. Large, insect-like creatures were storming into Hellgorth and attacking whoever they saw until being repelled, and then doing it again when the next attack came. This was the last straw for the colonists, and they began looking for other planets on the system to move their colony to. However, with so many supplies already on Oria, the effort to pick up and leave would likely lose a lot of those supplies, and the people to go with them. A full year was spent searching for solutions, only to come up with nothing. So, instead, the people of Oria looked to the Zelrio Corporation, who had began further expanding their operations into space after the attacks on Hellgorth. Soon, the population began to transition into life in space.
Many years later, Hellgorth remains the primary settlement of Oria, with a population of 120,000. In place of homes, it has gigantic smeltery plants, which processes everything that is mined on the planet before it is sent up the Tristam Space Elevator for further processing and usage in space. The Zelrio Corporation no longer is overseen by the government, as it is the government after widespread praise for it's work in pulling everyone off of Hellgorth. Space around Oria is peppered with many stations of varying kinds, from habitat stations to gigantic spacedocks and assembly areas.
Culture and Society: With the majority of the population living in space, there is often the worry of food. Most grown food comes from gigantic hydroponics farms, however the vast majority of meat is synthetic. Real meat is a luxury that is often only affordable to the upper class, as there is little space to host large amounts of livestock. On the other hand, water comes from ice asteroids within the system as well as being sent up from the surface (the latter of which often needs to be filtered to make safe to drink), and is recycled constantly, enabling a supply good enough to keep the population going.
The population often has to undergo training in order to survive in emergency situations. As well as having spacecraft licences and firearms licences, they also have emergency procedure trainings that have to periodically renew, with risk of arrest for those who do not renew their training, therefore putting habitats at risk. Due to the entire colony being run by the Zelrio Corporation, they often use punishments that benefit them, such as indentured servitude.
---
Governance and Politics: At a normal citizen's level, things are almost equivalent to a democracy. Citizens elect officials to help make decisions about the sectors that they live in, and where the funding that they are given is delegated. Habitat Councilmen, the head of each habitat (and the one who decides what sector each sector receives in finances) is also elected by the citizens of that habitat. Above that, decisions are handed directly to the Zelrio Corporation's directors, who are promoted from various places, such as of long-standing councilmen to employees hired directly by the corporation. Many director positions exist; The Habitat Director is the individual responsible for the management of all habitats, for example, just as the Financial Director controls finances all throughout Zelrio territory. At the top of the chain is the Zelrio National Director, who serves as the nation's top executive. When the National Direction passes away, or steps down, the position is then taken by their chosen Deputy National Director.
Technology Overview: The Zelrio Corporation has made significant strides in automated technology. Due to a lack of manpower at the beginning, robotics were introduced to fill in gaps, and that soon moved onto drone technology, using automated drones to search for the best deposits to mine from, and in many cases, to do the mining itself. Over time, growing trust in their advancements, the technology was moved to the military, and soon, drone carriers and other drone-related technologies were born and utilised, as well as the introduction of Artificial Intelligences. Command and Control technologies also advanced as a result of this, in order to be able to properly manage and control automations.
In addition to automated technology, cyber-defence and in turn cyber-offence became a large point of research, primarily for defending all of the technological advances that had been created. Whilst cyber-defence research was spread all throughout Zelrio territory, all cyber-offense technologies are given to Zerlio's military divisions and banned for anyone else to have or make use of; Those who manage to break cyberdefence test servers are rewarded for showing and reporting the exploit, providing incentive for others to help create an impenetrable system.
To defend their orbital habitats, the Zelrio Corporation has also put significant research into defence technologies, primarily in point defence in order to defend against asteroids and microasteroids, but additionally into shield technologies and other methods of defending themselves.
Due to mostly having to live in space, significant research has been put into Zero-G construction. As a result, construction of space structures and spacecraft has advanced to high levels, with new methods in place to both improve construction, and increase it's speed. New technologies and large orbital construction yards help to facilitate these advances.
Finally, and perhaps the most criminal of their technological advances, Space-To-Ground ordinance has also received a some research. Safe ways of bombing planets from orbit have been developed in order to counter outbreaks of Vacuarians on Oria with both precision and efficiency, without damaging the planet itself.
Military Overview: The Zelrio Corporation's military efforts are primarily focused on space domination. Despite living as a lonely colony for many years after the Gateways closed, the Corporation still holds a small navy due to the need to protect their stations from any threat that occurs. Most of these ships are small ships, along the lines of corvettes and frigates, however the proudest ships of the fleet would be the Drone Carriers. Because drones don't require air to breathe nor rations to feed, the carriers do not have internal hangars. Drone Fighters are stored on external racks, squeezed together with just enough room for the rearmament equipment to slip between every drone. A full compliment of drones costs about half as much as the carrier itself, however the ability to field that much ordinance with numerous fighters ensures it's an efficient payoff, and allows them to patrol their areas of space diligently, arresting (or eliminating) criminal ships.
Every ship and station holds a compliment of Zelrio marines, who take up the role of the police on board every ship, as well as the boarding force for any ship or station in space that requires boarding action. The marines are supported by infantry drones on larger operations in order to bulk up their numbers. The marines are rarely deployed groundside. Instead, that role is taken up by the Combat Controllers, which are Zelrio's Special Forces. These highly trained troops are deployed in very small numbers with their primary objective being to find and eradicate Vacuarian nests. They can often be in the field for weeks or even months, locating nests and calling in strikes from orbit. More often than not, they are supported by infantry drones, though many Combat Controllers opt to deploy on their own or with a few buddies to avoid detection. In addition to ground operations on Orea, Combat Controllers often deploy on other celestial bodies both for training, and to root out anyone that may be living on them, such as criminal gangs. Combat Controllers are among the most respected people in all of Zelrio, and it's commonly joked that one could take over a government with just a satellite communications kit.
Apart from the Combat Controllers, the other groundside element is the Zelrio Security Force. These troops aren't large in number, and aren't as experienced as even the Zelrio marines. The security forces are used to defend the groundside facilities of Oria and primarily the space elevator. They are additionally used to escort any ground convoys that require human support, though a lot of their role is facilitated by automated technology such as defence drones.

My, oh my, I do believe I'm interested in this. Being stuck as a colony with no outside connections for a long-ass time gives me an idea for an orbital mining colony.
On another note, will there be a Discord server for this RP?
Everyone was beginning to flood into the room, and Valencia was slowly becoming a little overwhelmed by the amount of people that were present. Valencia had been tutored entirely privately, however she did not share the same attitude as the posh snobs that had the same type of education when it came to being with so many people. They could go out and find whoever they wanted to meet or to talk to, but on the other hand Valencia did not share their same spirit. She would much rather people come to her and not the other way around upon a first meeting in an environment like this, particularly so that she could observe them first; She didn't want to end up meeting the wrong crowd, and she figured it was a much more reliable idea to assume that any of them would more likely jab at her than come to her with a pleasant greeting. A good way of identifying them, she believed.
Valencia's mental focus moved back to those closest to her, taking some amusement at the whole confusing aspect of trying to get everyone seated and various conversations being interrupted as people, either sheepishly or confidently, asked if they could sit next to one another. Definitely, it seemed a lot of individuals didn't know eachother, though there were some exceptions such as Finn and Selena. For not the first time since spotting both of them, she questioned what kind of relationship they had. They seemed like close friends, but at the same time, had Selena just tried to block Finn's vision with her tail subconsciously? Was that perhaps some jealousy? Valencia wouldn't be able to blame the fox girl; The new girl that showed up had clearly decided that bathing without clothes on was for the common folk, and that she had taken it upon herself to show them just how efficient wearing clothes in the shower was. Plus, Valencia knew that she herself was quite easy on the eyes. She couldn't blame Selena for being a little jealous.
All those thoughts were done whilst Valencia was remaining completely still, having subconsciously gone statue-esque. Only now did she break out of that, moving her arms up to rest on the table, allowing herself to properly search around her and take everyone in from a non-peripheral angle. She did, however, lean forward to peek past Selena and toward Finn. "C'mon, Finn, don't you like a fluffy scarf?" She jokes, grinning. Then, she leaned back, and figured it was time to introduce herself to the newcomers. "To those I haven't introduced myself to, my name is Valencia. It is nice to meet you," she says.
Gonna just shove my work in progress in here to show I'm actually doing stuff. Ignore the fact it looks trashy right now, I have more scribbles in a doc that I'm adding. XD
Royal Realm of Rosecordia
Government
The Royal Realm of Rosecordia is a monarchical dictatorship, however it's close enough to a military dictatorship that it may as well be one. Whilst the king, presently King David Wyro, is the ultimate authority of Rosecordia, he does have ministers underneath him that are delegated for their specific departments, such as the Ministry of Education, as well as his own personal advisors. The ministers have the power to run their departments as they see fit, making what changes they feel are necessary for the best performance, however laws themselves must be approved by the King. The children of the monarch has a limited amount of dictatoral power, however do have a lot of influence. They often go between departments, observing them to take note of their functions and the usefulness of not just the ministries but the ministers themselves, so that as a future King or Queen they could make informed decisions.
Demographics
The primary demographic for the Royal Realm of Rosecordia are Humans, who take up the vast majority of the population. Other races come from those who have immigrated into the nation, which treats all of it's inhabitants equally (and with the same scrutiny). The population of Humans is at a steady incline from births, whilst other races' inclines primarily come from immigration though also with a slow birthrate due to having not been a significant count of the population from the beginning. Immigration itself is not challenging; All who wish to live in the nation can do so by registering with their local immigrations office in order to obtain an immigration permit, which requires them to obtain a job within three months. The immigrations permit must be renewed every three months. After one year within Rosecordia, one could apply for citizenship, which reviews the immigrant's time within the nation and determines whether or not to grant them citizenship, usually based on factors such as their living situation (if they're paying rent and taxes on time) and their ability to sustain themselves (such as their amount of time unemployed versus employed).
Society
The easiest way to describe the society of the Royal Realm of Rosecordia is Willing Opression. When the original colonist flotilla crashed on the Riftworld there was panic, and forces from the escorting heavy cruiser (known as the Magma Freezer) had to maintain control, martial law enacted by the original colony administrator, Michael Levingoski. Once everything had settled, the military maintained control to prevent riots and panic whilst everything was offloaded from the colony ships and the colony first started.
Today, the same control still reigns true, yet people accept it because it makes them feel secure in a still very unknown world, particularly with no way off of the world. The military and police services are seen as very respectable lines of work, with many of the population hailing them as having done the right thing a millennia ago in establishing control.
Of course, there is also an opposition, a portion of the population who feels that having such a militarised structure is harmful to Rosecordia. The Rulerless Rosecordian Movement is a legal movement, albeit does contain some radicalists whom are the primary ones responsible for a few high-profile attacks and distruption throughout Rosecordia. The radical side of the movement is classified as a threat to Rosecordia, however the peaceful and civil side of it remains begrudgingly accepted by Rosecordians as a whole.
Every Rosecordian citizen can agree on one thing, however; their dislike of frogs. And not just any frogs, but those of the Kroak, on Rosecordian's eastern border. Rosecordia as a whole blames the Kroak for the death of Queen Savanna Wyro, and was on a knife's edge with starting a war with the Kroak. As a result, several public events are hosted to take out anger on the Kroak, such as Frog Day, where Rosecordians take delight in consuming frog-related delicacies, such as Frog's legs. Rosecordians on the eastern border often picnic as close to the border as they can on Frog Day with their frog snacks.
Military
The Military forces of Rosecordia are split into several branches, each with their respective leadership, though ultimately reporting to Ministry of Defense. The only exceptions to this are the Royal Rosecordian Police Force and the Royal Rosecordian Coast Guard, the both of which report to the Ministry of Civil Security, which in turn reports to the Ministry of Defense in times of war. Rosecordia's military are tech-heavy. Many of it's troops outside of the frontline grunts have very specialised roles, and are experienced in those roles with constant training and incentive to perform to the best of their abilities.
Royal Rosecordian Police Force
Though not a part of the actual military forces, the Royal Rosecordian Police Force are the primary force responsible for the prevention of crime within Rosecordia's borders. Despite this, foreigners often mistake them for military due to their heavily militarised equipment and methods when it comes to performing their duties, with training almost on-par with the training that troops of Rosecordia's actual military branches go through. Their primary distinction is their equipment, which holds a lot more non-lethal and less-than-lethal than the police force's military counterparts, as well as police insignia displayed on the equipment and uniforms.
Despite their reporting to the Ministry of Civil Security, most infractions are met with a response that is anything but civil. The police force is known to utilise heavy-handed tactics; If someone resists, they can expect to be met with brutal force.
Royal Rosecordian Coast Guard
Like the police force, the Royal Rosecordian Coast Guard are not a full part of the Rosecordian military, however share close ties with the Rosecordian navy. The Rosecordian Coast Guard primarily operate small boats, though do have a few larger ships. Their primary duties are rescues, as well as law enforcement on the waters, and security on the close shores of Rosecordia.
Royal Rosecordian Army
The Royal Rosecordian Army is the primary military force of Rosecordia, their duties primarily focusing on ground control. They have some arial assets, however the skies are mostly dominated by the Royal Rosecordian Air Force, and the Royal Rosecordian Navy dominating Rosecordian waters. Due to their focus on ground confrontation, their equipment is very heavy compared to their arial and naval counterparts.
Royal Rosecordian Air Force
The regulars of the Royal Rosecordian Air Force are perhaps the most trained of all of the Rosecordian military branches. The air force relies on both small craft, as well as large, and even super-large craft in order to control the skies. The latter are often less in number than the former pair, but are a formidable force. As well as controlling the air, the Royal Rosecordian Air Force make up a large contribution to the Rosecordian Special Forces, with shock troops and often being at the front of testing new technologies.
Royal Rosecordian Navy
With a large sea to the north, Rosecordia ensures that it's naval power is strong in order to defend it's waters, utilising a wide range of ships to do so. The navy additionally hosts the Naval Marines, utilising them both as shipboard security, as well as it's primary combat contingent for engagements on dry land when necessary, such as shore engagements and island control.
List of Important People:
King David Wyro
King David is the head of state of the Royal Realm of Rosecordia. He was previously married to Queen Savanna Wyro before she lost her life. Together, they brought into the world three daughters, and one son.
Princess Lily Wyro
The firstborn child of King David, and heir to the throne, Princess Lily is the eldest of King David's children. Therefore, her focus is distributed amongst the ministries, learning their purposes and getting ready to direct them as a queen in the future.
Princess Gemma Wyro
The secondborn child of King David, Princess Robyn takes interest in the cultures of other nations. Under an agreement between the Rosecordia and Norshao, Robyn is due to be married to the high king of Norshao, something that she chose to do willingly.
Princess Robyn Wyro
The thirdborn child of King David, and the youngest of the princesses, Princess Gemma already had two sisters ahead of her that she had to try and get even with. She joined the military, namely the Royal Rosecordian Air Force, as both a way for her to make use of her time, and to bolster her own reputation.
Prince Arthur Wyro
As the first and only son of King David, Arthur's arrival to the world was celebrated throughout Rosecordia. He is also the youngest of the royal family, at just fifteen years old.
High Secretary Marcus Kiral; Head of the Ministry of Civility
After a career in the Royal Rosecordian Police Force, Marcus Kiral departed from service, instead entering the Ministry of Civility. He soon climbed the ranks of the Ministry, becoming the High Secretary.
High Secretary Edward Laptro; Head of the Ministry of Defence
Like his counterpart in the Ministry of Civility, Edward Laptro was previously a member of active service, though he was active as an officer in the Royal Rosecordian Army. At the rank of Major, Edward was medically discharged from the army after becoming wounded in action. He was swiftly picked up by the Ministry of Defence, and climbed the ladder.
General Robert Namara; Chief of Staff, Royal Rosecordian Army
It's well known that General Namara's success is in part due to royal influence, specifically that of the office of Princess Lily, however that is not to say that he isn't an experienced tactician.
General Thomas Drake; Chief of Staff, Royal Rosecordian Air Force
When he was still in the seat, General Drake was known as god's personal fighter pilot. His skills in the cockpit, ironically, caused him to rapidly be promoted out of the cockpit, and into an office chair instead. Though loathing the lack of a joystick, he is known to be a very receptive and respectful officer.
Admiral Amelia Frechette; Chief of Staff, Royal Rosecordian Navy
Known for doing it all, frechette started in the Rosecordian Coast Guard, and then transferred to the navy as a midshipwoman. She was passed from ship to ship as she was promoted higher and higher, and for a time refused to leave her last post, the aircraft carrier Kitril Strings. After a time, she finally let herself be placed into the seat of the Chief of Staff.
Admiral Joshua Arnold; Chief of Staff, Royal Rosecordian Coast Guard
Admiral Arnold is a fossil who is twelve years past the age of retirement. A firm believer in working until you can't, he still carries out his duties to the best of his abilities; Being stuck in an daily office helps with that.
Chief Constable Chyler Orenski; Chief of Staff, Royal Rosecordian Police Force
Originally, Chyler Orenski served in the Royal Rosecordian Army, however changed career path to the Royal Rosecordian Police Force after a gunman killed her younger sister. The Police Force was close to changing tactics due to efforts by the Rulerless Rosecordian Movement when she took over, and had it remain in it's effective hands-on methods.
ROSA; Rosecordia Operations and Security Administrator
The Rosecordia Operations and Security Administrator is not actually a computer, but an artificial intelligence, designed to assist in the running of Rosecordia. Whilst many roles still exist, in order to provide jobs for the people, ROSA is used to improve efficiency around the board, from organising garbage truck routes, to handling logistics in military operations - for this purpose, the military often utilises mobile ROSA units, which aren't so much ROSA instances themselves but relays that connect to the primary ROSA servers hidden within Rosecordia.
Riding in a carriage was a lot more enjoyable than walking. The ability to look out and observe everything around the carriage whilst not worry about the huffing of breath after walking long distances, particularly for those that frequented armour upon their persons, was quite appealing; walking did have it's own benefits, though Valencia Coquerdale was happy enough to sit and wait for the carriage to arrive at it's destination. That is, sit still. Very still. Motionless, in fact. Enough so that perhaps the staff of Hoseforn's Academy may question whether her particular carriage was delivering a student or a statue. The armour definitely helped Valencia fit into the latter. The wings, too, might have helped were they not tucked in underneath the plates. Valencia just hoped that the uniform that she'd be receiving was comfortable enough.
Finally, the carriage came to a halt, and the coachman (so wonderfully provided by her father along with the carriage itself) announced that they had reached their destination, the front of the Academy. It almost embarrassed her that she had to be escorted to the Academy like this, for she knew that the coachman was also there to tell her father how she had acted on the trip, to keep an eye on her during it, as if she was not her own woman and capable of handling herself. She knew this because she had opted for riding a horse of her own to the Academy, and let it settle in the stable for the duration of her stay for whenever she would need to ride, however her father had overruled it. She supposed she had to thank him for not providing a full escort of some frustrating mercenary group or the likes, creatures flapping around like she was an empress, for that would probably have ensured she didn't come home and instead live out the rest of her days pretending to be a statue out of embarrassment. Stepping out of the carriage, Valencia dismissed the coachman, watching him as he rode away. Only as he entered the distance did she notice a quad of heavily armoured horsemen following on behind the carriage, and corrected her earlier thought; although she wasn't being directly escorted, her father had definitely assigned guards to follow behind. Smart, and thoughtful.
Turning her attention to the Academy itself, Valencia took in everything that was in front of her. The grounds were beautiful, both for their picturesque visuals and for the freedom that they granted her. Here, she was free of the metaphorical chains that her father had on her. Well, she was certain that provided enough push, he'd try to keep an eye on her and her progress, but it was a pleasant thought, at least. Valencia was certainly not the first to arrive, she saw plenty of other people also around, and she was smart enough to pick out the students that had been here before from the first years such as herself; Those that had their uniforms already on, and thus already had uniforms in the first place, were quite obviously ones that had already been around. First years such as herself, and some of the other unsystematically-dressed individuals fumbling their way around, did not have said uniform yet. Such an identifying difference was due to vanish by the end of the first day, she knew. The young woman began to walk, ignoring glances from those who had an interest in the intricately-patterned dark steel armour, or perhaps even those who had an inkling of who she was and where she hailed from.
Entering the Main Hall, Valencia paused to savour the grandeur of the room, before her eyes settled on the most prominent feature, the crystal. It was enormous, and she had to take a few moments just to imagine who had the idea of shoving the thing inside of the building, barely questioning how they managed to do it. Following the lead of other students, Valencia trotted her way towards one of the booths that circumferenced the crystal, passing an embarrassed first year student who seemed to be grouching to another equally embarrassed first year about how they smelled - going to a school publicly certainly seemed like it would be interesting, judging by that interaction. The whole ordeal of the crystal was piquing her curiosity however, and she was quite excited to see what would happen when she stepped inside the booth - to which the answer was the greeting from Athena. Like the other students, Valencia was asked to present her acceptance scroll, and once she had done so, was informed of her dorm number - 658 - and told to change, bathe, and return to the Main Hall. The note at the end almost made her wonder how long Hoseforn's Academy had been standing. Attendance is mandatory. Her father frequented the use of such a phrase, and it made Valencia wonder if her father had been to Hoseforn's Academy before her. "Thank you for your assistance, Athena," Valencia spoke smoothly, once her ordeal with Athena was complete. She stood in the booth for a few more moments, just taking in the crystal and the room itself, before proceeding to use her newfound map to make her way towards the dorms.
Soon enough, Valencia made her way along the halls of the dorms, searching for her own, and adjusting the strap of the pack that was over her shoulders. She had considered taking her armour into the school some other way so that she didn't have to carry both it and the bag. However, upon leaving home, she had decided that she would have a much better time if she just wore the armour and carried the bag at the same time, in order to ensure the safe journey of both her personal belongings, and of the armour itself, too. Her eyes constantly flickered down to the scroll and then back up to the dorm numbers, following them along and counting out in her head along with the signs. 684... 655... 656... 657... Foxgirl! Valencia stopped dead in her tracks as she almost ran into one of the students that she had noticed earlier, the one that had been talking about her smell. "Oh, hello!" Valencia says, stepping back to give the other person room. It was then that Valencia noticed that the other had actually been coming from the room that she had been assigned. Oh. A roommate. This will be... Pleasant.
Standing at a height of 5'6 and weighing 203lbs, Valencia is quite heavy for her size, which comes as a result of her Gargoyle heritage. Her weight does not impact upon her form however, as she retains a slim and ectomorphic build, as well as a fairly average bust. Being part Gargoyle does effect her in other ways, though; Her hair, which is commonly straight and falling to mid-back height, is naturally a silvery colour, and often her porcelain skin can be mistaken for being a light shade of grey. This often happens in the dark (be it dark or dull rooms, shadows, or in the middle of the night), as well as in moonlight. The most prominent part of her Gargoyleness is a pair of grey-coloured wings on Valencia's back, allowing her the limited ability of flight. These are often folded close to her back, tucked to the point where they don't even create a bulge in the back of her apparel.
Expressively, Valencia varies. Her expression is most commonly neutral, and when deviating tends to do so more into the negative of expressions than the positive (though only a little more). She is also physically expressive, folding her arms to show displeasure being commonplace, for example. As part of her Gargoyle heritage, she is able to control her expressions as she pleases, resulting in her being able to be visibly unjudgeable if she so wishes. If you told her to stand in place with one hand up in the air, her eyes wide open, and on one foot, she'd be perfectly able to do so as if she was a statue without complaint for as long as was needed (provided nobody pushes her over). This trait is often represented casually as well, with Valencia frequently standing completely motionless when there is nothing to do and nothing that requires her to move. She is capable of suddenly moving out of this state.
Apparel-wise, Valencia opts to wear armour more than common clothes when outgoing, though will wear casual clothing on occasion. Her armour itself is forged from dark steel, giving it an almost black look, and decorated with intricate patterns to give it some style.
Rune Knight
An expert in fighting and taking it to their foes, knights are highly resilient against attacks due to both their training as well as their tendency to wear strong armour. On the offensive, knights are just as efficient, proving to be experts in fighting at close range, particularly with swords but also proficient in unarmed combat as well as with other weapons. Rune Knights, in specific, are also experienced in writing Runes into their equipment in order to increase their performance and add some magic to both their offense and defence.
Personality
Valencia is typically a pleasant individual to deal with, primarily in the fact that she doesn't go out of her way to bother people in the negative. On the other hand, she does have a rough side to her - individuals that she knows to be negative, such as bullies and assholes, will become a target for her own heinous attacks; whether it be vocal or even physical, as Valencia is not against a good tussle, particularly ones that she knows that she will win. Whilst Valencia if subject to the same emotional surprises that normal humans are, she is capable of withholding these surprises visually. A world-ending god could send everyone around her screaming and running, fearing for their lives, and she instead would be standing there like a hero, whilst internally fearing just as much as the rest of them.
Strengths
Weaknesses
- Extremely resilient, both by armour that is worn, and natural armour granted to her by being part Gargoyle.
- Being able to mask her expressions also can have someone questioning if she's telling the truth about how she's feeling.
- Extremely proficient at hand-to-hand combat, including unarmed combat, and with a high mastery of blades, particularly swords.
- Can often feel like an outcast, due to being part Gargoyle not being common whatsoever, and even viewed as partly evil at first glance.
- A strong individual, able to fight a man much taller than her, and even win that same fight, and strong enough that heavy armour doesn't hamper her mobility too much.
- On that note, can often be seen as evil by those who know where she hails from or those who hear about her past without judging her for who she is.
- Great night vision, able to see in the dark very well. Great for creeping from the shadows pretending to be a statue.
- Whilst resilient, Valencia does not have many ranged capabilities, leaving it up to her to close the distance for attack.
- The champion of statue impressions, able to accurately control both her expressions and posture as much as, well, a statue, giving her the advantage of surprise and some fun.
- A very light nagging in her brain, constantly attempting to turn her towards the path of darkness. It's so constant that Valencia has learned to ignore it as if it was never there.
Biography
Valencia was created as the incarnation of evil - or rather, she was created to follow a life of evil in the footsteps of her father, sir Jaune Coquerdale, an evil and rich wizard that desired to have a child to call his own and carry on in his name. Typically, one would go to a woman in order to start a family, however sir Jaune put his effort into researching a way into making his child unique and to give her advantages over others. It resulted in him soon looking into Gargoyles, for their abilities to fly, their natural armour, and most importantly to sir Jaune, their natural evilness. And so he made all of the preparations he could, poured his research into creating a child from a Gargoyle egg, and when the time was right, begun the process of incubating the egg.
What sir Jaune did not take into account was that being partly Human, his newly born daughter would be able to control the evil urges that the Gargoyle part of her tried to drill into her. Despite his displeasure that his plan had failed at the beginning, he held faith, and continued to nurture her as she grew up, being a surprisingly good father figure in contrast to his normally evil public persona. Tutoring was not done publicly, but was done privately within sir Jaune's estate by hired tutors, who worked not just for the money that they were given but also out of fear of what would happen if they refused.
As she grew old enough to have a mind of her own and not blindly follow in her father's footsteps, Valencia became aware of the truth behind the Coquerdale name, and why even her own tutors trembled in front of her. Evil was a little bit of an understatement in describing her family name, as sir Jaune Coquerdale was responsible for some quite heinous acts. Over time, Valencia's relationship with her father became shaky, particularly since he didn't bother to stop even after she had been born. A book that she read at the age of eleven about the Horrors of Iziari Village came from things that her father had done whilst she had been three years old and left home with his servants.
Despite her growing dislike for her father's moralities, Valencia could not help but enjoy the benefits that she was granted by being his daughter. An estate to roam, despite the servants of evil that often made their way through the grounds, and the ability to choose her path unlike those who were too poor to do so. This included choosing to dodge her father's insistence in delving deep into magics and instead learning the art of swordsmanship. She could only go so far in her elusion, as sir Jaune was her father, and so they came to a compromise; He wouldn't ban her from learning swordsmanship, and using the estate and it's resources to do so, as long as Valencia learned the art of crafting runes as well, in order to grant her at least some magic capabilities. Valencia agreed.
Using the resources of the estate, Valencia honed herself in close-ranged combat with swords and other weapons, and learned the art of using runes. The resources were not just limited to books, but her tutors that knew how to teach in the best way possible, and the guards with their experience. Valencia relied heavily upon the latter, going so far as to use her position as sir Jaune's daughter to pull guards off duty in order to duel them on the grounds. Sir Jaune allowed this, for he saw this as her learning how to be demanding, and a powerful leader. However, there soon came a point where Valencia's learning had to be taken a step further. Both Valencia and sir Jaune believed that Valencia was capable enough to attend Hoseforn's Academy. Honing her skills would help her become a better villain, one thought. The other believed honing her skills would put her on the path of a hero. And so, the application was sent.
