Re-read through some IC posts, I've seen 2-3 that mentioned 'blasters'. If this is just slang for firearms, then carry on, but if it means laser weapons then they don't exist in this world. Think Catharyn mentioned that at some point, it's ballistic weaponry only. Just a heads up.

well there goes my plan for an army of tiny imperial guardsman with lasrifles. Does that laser rule also amply to the anti missile ones I put on the Rapid Evening or not, because those kind of exist irl, in the prototype stage at least.

The bug queen finally spoke up, and surprisingly she claimed not to be an alien after all, that she had been transformed into one by...

”Xenomorphs? Like from the movie Aliens?”

Shen was briefly dumbfounded by this comment.

”You watch movies?”

”I spent 20 years in that facility, there was very little to do. So I watched a film where an alien killed a load of humans. Just like what happen outside really.”

”And in both the humans won in the end”

”not in the film they didn’t”

”... yes they do, Ripley, the kid, the android and a bunch of the marines shoot the crap out of the aliens, escape and nuke the site from orbit.”

”Not in the one I had. She falls into a reactor and the aliens live happily ever after. I’m… not sure about the kid and the android. The editing at the end is kind of sloppy but presumably the kid gets eaten and the android escapes”

”I. What? Why would they? Wait. The editing at the end of the one I saw was crap in comparison to the rest of it too...”

They should probably just move on at this point and leave the topic behind.

”Anyway, um.”

Where had she been. Ah. yes. The suspicious humanoid that claimed to be human. Most of the Elders troopers had been part human and she sure as hell wouldn’t trust them, so even if she spoke truth she wasn’t magically in Lilly’s good books now. The fact that Kerrigan followed up with a threat on their lives if they endangered the town was neither for nor against her humanity really, but Lilly was pretty sure that no matter what Kerrigan was, Shen didn’t like her attitude one bit.

”I’ll keep that in mind.”

Lily took note to make a mind shield as soon as possible on her PDA for future reference, along with the various dates the others, including one from a man straight out of a noir film who had just joined them, gave her. The mention of zombies in 1998 was certainly an anomaly, but that might have been an event that either nobody had brought up or had been covered up at the time. There was a president for cover ups after all, XCOM itself was originally a covert operation and there were some indications that something XCOM related had gone done in 1962 as well.

”Thank you all for that information, and it's nice to meet you mr Payne, I’m Lily Shen. Yours seems to be the highest date so far, baring my own of 2036.”

As for the rather dusty room it looked to be filled with junk, non perishable food, complete with a dinner plate and some unidentifiable drugs found by the others.

It was Julian's advanced sensors that eventually picked up on the anomaly in the room ( he noted that Abe was watching him in fear and took it as a compliment). While Shen was marveling at probably the most delicious smelling meal she had ever witnessed he carefully(as careful as a giant robot can be anyway) edged his way towards the odd shimmer that was sitting on one of the benches.

”The hell is with this noodle bowl? It smells amazing and laced is with… stimulants and medical spray?”

She muttered to herself. It was the best she could find to describe what she smelled, unable to even think of the existence of magically infused food.

”Can’t hide from me!”

Julian suddenly roared, his metal fist slamming into the invisible thing and then bouncing harmlessly off of the energy shield. This did cause the suit to de-cloak and fall from its perch on the bench however.

”Julian what are you doing? And When did that get here?!”

She was startled first by the attack and then by the appearance of the collapsed inhuman figure

”Just showing off my superior eyesight and protecting you”

After an inspection of the fallen foe she announced

”well, good job from saving me from an empty suit. Still, this is entirely out of place, it’s way too advanced”

It was incredibly advanced just in general and while the aliens had exhibited instances of shield tech on shieldbreakers and invisibility on the seekers from the original invasion this was, on first inspection, a sublime combination of the two that didn’t seem to fit any previously encountered alien life form. The sophistication of the tech was promptly demonstrated as the suits shields recharged and it dropped from sight again. It was a shame it didn’t fit anyone, but she was definitely going to see if she could dismantle it later and retrieve the generator and hopefully salvage the unusual metal the suit was made from too.

The suit itself was carefully placed back on the seat and the plate placed on its lap to denote it’s position. She would work on those once they returned.

She and Julian joined the others at their embankment point, ready to head the north. It was as good a direction as any, she honestly couldn’t remember which direction her little group had come in from in the first place anyway.

She was busy attempting to fix the man, Farris’s blow had managed to dislocate his knee, when the princess arrived in the room and so was a little late on the whole saluting thing, what with her facing the wrong way initially, and so only noticed when the wounded man himself saluted. She spun round and after she managed to recover from the shock of turning around and finding royalty standing in the door frame and gave an awkward salute from her kneeling position next to her patient.

She was surprised as everyone else that they were getting leave while the fort they were in was getting it’s royal inspection. Maybe they just wanted rid of the anomalies so they could review the fort in its normal state, or the princess, who had been a student at Academy she remembered, was bias towards her fellow magic users and also wanted something to rub in the face of the Commander who had tried to blame them for the state of affairs.

At any rate, after the princess left Althea forcibly rammed the mans knee back into its socket using her gauntlet and then stood and joined the others. The man himself quickly fled and left the Cadets and Aquarians on the own in the mess hall.

“I’ll go get ze others I guess, I need to check on Gradon anyway.”

She was a little unsure if she wanted to be outside the fort right now, what with the hostile column heading their way. She briefly wondered if this was some weird elaborate preemptive flanking maneuver disguised as an outing to fool spies or something, though that was probably her tired mind making conspiracy theories where none existed.

She went and found Gradon and Ferris, telling them that the princes was here and that they were going on a trip outside the walls to the town. She also checked on Gradon’s injuries but fortunately they did not seem serious, some light bruising for which she prescribed the same treatments as she had to Viola.
@Crimmy

Now that I recall it, Tzi will likely become a key member of the group later on. His knowledge of the sea shall be a great aid to the party.

Tzi has always been a key member of the party for his moral raising abs.

As for the sea stuff what I am getting from that is we are getting a cruise paid for by the Princess, along with our 100% unsuspicious town excision
@TheWindel@Lonewolf685

where are your two chars at the moment so Althea can come check on Grandon's many bumps and break up what Ferris is trying to do to him and tell them both about our town adventure. Is it just some random hallway?
it is at this point I remembered that Sophia's true love is the emperor, part of whom is currently embodying a very ugly yet lucky mutant.

oh dear
Though fella weaponry is a very plausible side, I don't think the suit work work. Especially when we have a a walking tank, basically. If it were scaled down, possibly to a backpack containing a charger, as long we it is balanced, you should be fine to have it.

@Lugubrious

well then. That is the most powerful yet functionally useless item I have ever seen. At least in Sophia's hands it can't give Lily an ironic ending where she brings back Max and then the egg instantly eats him to give her another wish.

edit: note: this is not an insult or something. I will take any excuse for Sophia to get mad
hopefully not overkill
