Maybe I'll play Cyberpunk 2077 some more. My brother maxed out my character a year and a half ago. Haven't seen him since. Miss him.

”Mr. Dawson, why don't you have a seat?” He said, gesturing to the brown leather chair he had his hand resting on.

The men behind Adel stepped forward. They each placed a firm hand around his upper arms, half-guiding, half-dragging Adel to the seat. If Adel struggled in any way, their plan would have been quickly subduing him with a blow to the cheek - but besides tensing up, the man didn’t fight.

They shoved Adel into the seat, twisting it so it faced the mirror. Vincent still had that smirk on his face as he picked up a bowl of shaving cream and an applicator brush on the counter.

Slowly, methodically, Vincent applied shaving cream to Adel's face while speaking.

”Now, my men tell me that you and your spies have decided to make it your home in White Pine. Not that I care too much about that.”

He set down the bowl, picking out a barber's blade instead. He opened it, the fresh gleam of a clean, sharp blade within.

“What I really care about, though, is who set you up to do this.”

The blade pressed against Adel's neck as Vincent leaned over, staring at the man through the mirror.

”So, what'll it be, Canary? You gonna sing?”

Nocturnal Memoirs (2024)

"A million times I have done this charade. The moment people figure it out, I get the boot." she thought.

"But don't you want to see the fear in their eyes when they see who you really are...? Don't you want dominion of this place, just like how you were unchallenged in Vaal Kastrix?" said the Voice.

Ciara scoffed, immediately thinking of Gulliver and Valen. "I'd love to wipe the smirk off their faces."

"It starts by building a rumor. A rumor of power. This could be the place to start."

She took a deep breath, narrowing her eyes resolutely at the Undermage. "Head Advisor, with all due respect, you have no right to ask me about my intentions. If you want answers..."

She stood from her seat, rising to her full height.

"You'll have to duel me for them."

<Snipped quote by Estylwen>

Hmm, I see. I was mainly asking because I was intending for Caelin, the island my character now holds, to have been one of the main holdouts until the very end of the war until she took drastic actions and took control to prevent destruction. If that doesn't mesh well with Aethera and Rockhold and the lore though, I'll change it.

Sure, we can have Caelin as the most exceptionally stubborn. Would King Ludwig II have stormed it like he stormed Aethera?

@Estylwen

Would it be okay for my character to have been in love with one of the humans Evelyn killed at the academia that she slaughtered? I’m thinking as a reason for her to want to help the resistance. The human would probably just be a low-magic one who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time

Sure, I think that's a great idea. :)
@ERode

Yeah! I was going to ask if there’s a lifespan expectancy for fey/changelings but for her ‘disguise’ I was thinking 20s-30s, especially if we’re going the route of scandal. If she was going to become the new duchess or something, I was probably gonna say 40s :P

(DND has them at 450 yrs)

Yeah, we can make Changlungs have a lifespan of 450 years. That goes in keeping with the other races I have so far.

<Snipped quote by ERode>

Right, but there was still some sort of warring going on if he had to take Aethera by surprise.

ERode has it pretty much right. King Ludwig II preferred to do things peacefully, using the power of his army to quell anymore fighting by more intimidation, and offering good peace treaties. Aethera and Rockhold were the most stubborn, but it was only Aethera that had a full scale invasion of the city done by the King.

Does that answer it alright?
@Estylwen How long-lived are elves/dwarves in the setting anyways? Wondering if I made Safina still relatively young or closer to middle-aged.

Great question! Dwarves live up to 250 years, and elves can live up to 1000 years. Safina is still quite young, but has a lot of experience.
@Psyker Landshark I love it, I love it. Accepted, feel free to add her to the Character Tab. :)
Yep! Exactly what ERode said, a dedicated spy for the rebellion hasn't been made yet. Can't wait to see what you make, @Donut Look Now.

Oooh, that’s an important clarification you just made, useful for everyone here, not just me.

If that’s the design principle behind offensive spells, then sure! My point essentially remains the same, Vacuum and Void are as powerful as a Firebolt and Fireball respectively, yep.

Great! Then I think your CS is good to go! Feel free to add it to the Character Tab when you have a moment. :)
I’d like to join! I can have my character basics done before the end of the day if not the whole character sheet :)

Hello! Yes, you're more than welcome, I'm looking forward to your CS. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. :) We are starting the IC this Friday, so you have lots of time.

<Snipped quote by Estylwen>
Thanks! For the glade's location, since Lilim are fey-touched people, then... this should be a good spot, near the Fey River.

Oh, that's a good point, hmmm... then I'll add a line or two clarifying that Vacuum and Void have similar destructive power as the Firebolt and Fireball spell respectively. For example: If a certain person would die from receiving a Vacuum to the face, then they'll also die from receiving a Firebolt to the face. Sounds good?

Hmm, I'm trying to make spells not an insta-death. Is there any way the vacuum could be an impacting blow that's non-lethal? A fireball to the face would leave severe burns, but not necessarily kill a person. Does that sound alright?

<Snipped quote by ERode>

Nah, it's more like, the guy receives the same bludgeoning force as the insect. That amount of force would be enough to kill the insect, but no more than a prod for the guy.

Good point tho, probably should be more specific on the wording.

Thanks for the clarification!

I've updated the map, it can be viewed here:

Every 7-9 squares is about a day's journey by carriage.
<Snipped quote by Estylwen>

Yes your suggestions still work for me, I might just go with the surviving royal guard, only that he was severely wounded during the conflict, and after he healed, he chose not to join the queen's royal guard but still has friends in the guard and court, and has since retired to his family's estate and thinking of ways to end the queen's rule and avenge the king. Maybe making a spy network.

Unless I think of something else.

This idea would work great, I say go for it. I'm looking forward to your CS!

@Estylwen My CS is up for review!

I love your CS! The inclusion of Dremora is right on point. Do you have a way to point out on the map where you would like Tearmoon Glade to reside? Or you can tell me how many day's travel it is from Hathforth, and in which direction, and I can add it.

I only have a slight issue with the spells. Vacuum and Void sound like instant-kill spells if positioned at the head. How strong is the force? Is there a way we can make it so it's not instant-kill?

Alrighty Image up finally, didn't really find something I wanted so took something that was okay

The image looks great! Thanks for adding it.
<Snipped quote by Estylwen>

That does clear up a lot! To clarify though, the satellite settlements surrounding a city don't send their taxes to their respective cities, but right up to Hathforth, thereby depriving the dukes of a large part of their own taxes?

You got a point there. Thinking about it, it's more practical for villages to go to their closest Duke/Duchess with their taxes. Sorry about that! Let's go with more dependence on the Duke/Duchess instead.

<Snipped quote>

Following up on this, would the anti-magic Seed just delete stuff like magical contracts and Dremona gates then?

Good question. Anti-magic seeds would be able to cancel out a magical contract that was in the process, but wouldn't be able to affect a magical contract already completed. Putting the aura of an anti-magic seed within would collapse a gateway into Dremora's Shade, however, the gateway could be reopened in another location.

Does that answer your question alright?
