I made a quick post, but I have to go to werk soon, so I'll either add Justin in later, and maybe expand the Kimberly/Jordan post. @FernStone

There was a need for Lynette to be smart when Aliana said to do it outside.

Like I was just itching to be a homegrown terrorist!

But, the New Yorker had enough tack to know that just wasn't appropriate. She just wordlessly gestured for the two to follow her, and Lynette lead them outside of the building. She was considering asking Aliana about what she meant by "that" but she decided to stay quiet just this once. Opting instead to lead them to the outskirts of the academy - behind the building around where they take the trash out. She was staring at a wall, she sighed as she pulled out the marker again. She didn't know what she did, but she did her best to replicate the drawing of the symbol of fire in a ring - just so she can recreate the same effects.

With expertly strokes, Lynette had drawn the same symbol of flames that she did before. Afterwards, she immediately took some steps back - in expectations that it would explode again. It was sitting there with black ink... and she briefly stared at it. Wondering what had happened before... before it started glowing with a brilliant blue color again. Her eyes went wide as she covered her face with her arms.

Instead of exploding again, a massive pillar of flames came out of it. Lynette jumped, as she wondered what in the world just happened when she drew that. "Holy shit!" She said as she looked at the effects. The grass and leaves were absolutely scorched, and there was a trail of soot from the wall to about fifteen feet away. She looked at her little girl posse as she said,

"... Did you two see that?"

Ahhhh... the ugly question of what happened that night at camp.

It was true that he was in the thick of it. He may had committed a special kind of sin that he wouldn't be able to come back from - and he wasn't even a Christian. The sin of murder. It made him clutch his hand tightly, and hang his head. That wasn't something he was willing to share with anyone. Not with Tuyen, not with his mother, and definitely not with his precious twin sister Katie. Nobody. The sin of murder was the burden he, and only he, was going to carry. He clenched his fist, as he shook his head yet again.

"... I was." Justin softly said. "That axe bastard went after Claire, and I saved her...." With the help of something. He thought to himself as he looked at his palm. He saw faint embers come off of it, and shook it again. Everywhere he went, he saw fire. Or something. Where was the fire coming from?

Or was he just the fire?

There were many questions to ask, but he kept them all to himself. "Honestly..." Justin said, "I really don't blame you for cutting me off - I need a lot of time to myself, too." He shook his head. Wondered where it all went wrong. It just started with him being sent to this awful town to learn a lesson, now he's in the midst of a supernatural crisis? Still there was the now to handle.

"Even though other people have seen worse...." Justin said, as he took a step forward, and grabbed her hand, saying, "... That still doesn't mean your problems are nothing."

"... I think I need new glasses." Kimberly said as she wiped off her glasses with her shirt and looked at it. It was definitely real... or they were having a shared hallucination. She didn't know - but there was one way to find out. "Hurry up! Catch it!" She half-shouted - half because she didn't want to draw too much attention to them.

"How?" Jordan said, pointing at her leg.
Hey you know what

I know I had a few complaints about the last version, but I think I'll give this one a shot. I'm going to be making new characters tho.

Welcome to Vivid Recollections, a story influenced by series such as Life is Strange, Stranger Things, It, Until Dawn, and Dead by Daylight. Though, it takes elements from Life is Strange and Dead by Daylight above all else.

Vivid Recollections will be a small town-type story set in Farmer Hill, Montana, a town built by the mountainside. To the average person, there's nothing notable about it other than its picturesque appearance. It's just a small farmer community that exports crops, people go to work, kids go to school, and so on. But, the town holds several dark secrets that nobody would expect. Farmer Hill, mysteriously enough, has a high number of people that just suddenly go missing, or get found dead. The people of Farmer Hill, strangely enough, ignore it, never speak of it and just go about their dead. But, that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Farmer Hill is connected to another world entirely beyond the understanding of this one. A world where what can be roughly described as "magic" exists. An abstract force flows through the small town, and causes various strange effects. Strange weather patterns, and unexplainable disappearances and deaths are just the beginning. Spirits, monsters, and what can be described as magic exist.

The story will follow a group of students that attend Grand Ridge Academy that are just living their lives when they're involved in a situation that was straight out of a horror movie. As days turn into weeks, weeks turn into months, they start to realize something strange is occurring. They have developed magical powers known as Abstractions, as they come into contact with the supernatural (Or "Extra-Normal") elements of their small town. Soon enough, they will come into conflict with something much bigger than all of them, and they must investigate the death of John Reid in order to solve it.

This story will be a magic realism type story that casts a certain view on the idea of "magic." I want to make it ambiguous whether or not the supernatural events in the story are in rooted in magic, scifi, or something beyond even that. I want to weave a story with similar aesthetic to Life is Strange, while building up something else entirely. The theme of Vivid Recollections will be Memory, Emotion, Connection, and Repression. A big part of the story will be the characters having a repressed memory, or emotion, that sabotages them in some way. How they'll get over that repression, and help them connect with other people. I also want the story to be dark, and very symbolic in nature. I won't be providing clear answers for everything.
Opening spiel explaining everything

Now, my roleplay, Vivid Recollections: Into the World Unknown has lost quite a few players to inactivity or other issues, and I wish to keep a very active playerbase. Especially given that we're very close to the start of the story (past the prologue). I know the RP is eighty-five posts deep, but there wasn't that much that had transpired so far.

If you want a general gist of what happened, look no further.

Looking forward to having more new members exposed to the awful writing in this roleplay (mostly mine)

It'll be like that one scene in Indiana Jones where the Nazis open the Ark and get their faces burned off.

Now, since @Atrophy is apparently gonna be busy for the weekend, I'm gonna move ahead the Lynette plot thread next post.

And I'm gonna get some newscrubs in the RP - I've already got two of the scrubbiest scrubs known to man to join.
I added the Synopsis to one of the empty posts, and I'll be updating other things... but off to work I go.
I'm gonna try to write up a synopsis tomorrow in between class (if I don't have to write another post) because I wanna get some new scrubs in to replace the ones we lost.

I also made a few edits to Justin's abstraction - just changing a few small things that didn't sit well with me, and added the aura reading I forgot to add (oops).

Yeah, get destroyed, annoying, overprotective cousin.

Justin thought to himself, coming really close to saying it outloud - he'd really love to say it, but he needed to look good in front of Tuyen. So, he just (visibly) added Min to the list of things he was ignoring right now. He released her from his embrace - and by that time, Min was long gone. Good riddance, but he knew that this wasn't the end of it. A temporary solution to a long term problem. He'd have to face Min eventually, and it wouldn't be pretty... just not right now. Another time, of course.

Tuyen asked him if he wanted to go somewhere else - and to that, Justin just nodded his head, and said, "I'll always have time for you... but yeah, somewhere else, that fire alarm's driving me crazy!" He shook his head as he realized he just couldn't ignore them anymore. Oh yeah, security guards are probably going to be pissed if they see them standing here, talking. Justin grabbed onto Tuyen's wrist, and pulled her out of the hallway. Eventually, leading them to a back area that everyone called the smoker's corner. It was a place near the trashcan behind the building, and was relatively dark and secluded. Hidden by the bushes, this was were kids smoked in a "smoke-free campus." There was nobody here at the moment, and that was what Justin was counting on.

Leaning against the wall with a foot pressed against the wall, Justin considered having a smoke. He knew that Tuyen probably wouldn't like it. "Yeah... I owe you a bit of a explanation, don't I?" Justin casually said. "After what happened at camp... shit's been hard, really hard..." He glanced at Tuyen and her rather ragged appearance "On all of us, it seems."

After being told to relent by both of her friends, Jordan did just that. She just kept her mouth shut, as Rien basically just told the dude that they didn't remember him. Whether or not they were telling the truth was a mystery to Jordan. They could remember him, and could very well be repressing it to keep him off of her. Instead of dwelling too much on it, Jordan just looked off into the distance. When the hell will this just call this a false alarm, and just let them move on with-

"What the hell?" Kimberly caught Jordan's attention with a surprised exclaim. The crippled girl turned her head to see the drawing of a butterfly that she thought Rien was working on flying in the air. Right in front of them. Her mouth fell open as she stared at the butterfly for a few moments.

"What in the world?" Jordan said, as she looked at it. "H-How? How did this happen?"

Kimberly was more exploratory, and tried to touch it - but it moved away, and left Kimberly wanting to know some more about it. She raised an eyebrow, "This..." Kimberly trailed off, "... Is this magic?"
@FernStone I'm gonna have Rien finish her drawing and bring it to life because idk what else to write about.

Claire was fighting the urge to murder this upstart bitch in public.

She really was... but, what she didn't realize was that something inside of her flicked on. That same thing that turned on when Scott almost killed her in the camp. Her strength. Her aura manifested slowly, as if it was coming into existence. It started out a light-blue color, then it quickly turned a stark red. It hovered a few inches off her skin, and almost seemed like it was burning. A red smoke came off of it that faded into non existence after a few seconds. Her aura burned just as the rage inside of her did.

Claire's fists were clenched tightly, teeth were bared. She didn't buy the chick's half-assed apology even for a second - if anything, she felt even more insulted. But, even though she was angry as all hell right now, she didn't want to get kicked out of Grand Ridge. Not after all of this. She raised a hand, not in anger, but merely to point outwards in the distance.

"Go." Claire said, "Get the fuck away from me right now."
Even in all of her anger, Claire's red aura definitely didn't go unnoticed. Even if only a few people present could even see it... she was just too focused on Rita to even notice it. What in the hell was even going on right now? Why did she (she in this context being Rita and herself) say that? Now... everyone was in her business.

And it felt like she wasn't even choosing to say it.

Lynette wasn't as ecstatic as Aliana was, because, logically speaking, it was all one big coincidence that Penny came in at the right place, at the right time.

So, her reaction was a bit more subdued. Though, there were a few things on her mind. For starters, when Aliana used her abstraction, she saw her... outline? A glowing blue light. It was strange... well, not as strange as drawing a symbol of fire on a mirror and causing an explosion. That required a long conversation. Though, she just got Penny's attention who had a few choice words to say. Lynette almost broke out into laughter, but there was a few things that she needed to clear up. To both Penny and Aliana. She cleared her throat, as she began walking.

"It's... something like the latter, Penny," Lynette answered very awkwardly, as she walked alongside her friends, "I think I owe the two of you an explanation for what happened in there - and no, I didn't set off any damn fireworks." She was quick to say, with a playful roll of her eyes at Penny.

"What happened was..." Lynette was unsure of how to explain that she drew a symbol that exploded... but, she remembered that she didn't even have to explain it. She had the power to show it.

"... How about I show you two just what happened?"

"I don't know," Justin answered his question. "Magic, or some kind of bullshit."

He thought back to that night at the campsite when Scott was about to axe Claire, and a fucking tiger came out of him to bitchslap him. Okay. That night was a special kind of fucking crazy. He set a woman on fire, summoned a tiger, lived through time stopping, and getting attacked by an apparent eldritch abomination. Now his hand on his fire.

Which therapist should he talk to about this?

Once the doors opened, and Tuyen came out, the fire disappeared as Justin turned his attention away from this pretentious pain in the ass, and turned towards Tuyen. She didn't exactly look all that great... there were bags underneath her eyes, and her hair was unmaintained... and she kind of smelled bad. It was clear that she wasn't doing too good, and it broke Justin's little heart.

"Tuyen..." Justin said as he just moved towards her, and embraced her for a hug.

"Well, maybe she doesn't want to remember it."

Jordan bitterly said to David, as he approached and started poking a little too closely into Rien's business for Jordan's liking. Which was why she was making it clear that she wanted him to back off. Mostly with an annoyed but unflinching stare that she was giving him. Hell, Rien would be lucky if she didn't remember it - Jordan had constantly flashbacks to it. Which didn't help her sleep at night with the flashbacks to that night... she shook her head.

But, she was stopped by Kimberly with a short. "Hey, Jordan, relax," She started off, "I'm sure... he didn't mean any harm by it."

"Hmph," Jordan said.
