Nakala, as much as she hates the concept, usually draws attention to herself the very minute she walks into a room for a variety of reasons. For starters, the fact that she's tall. She has inherited her height from her mother - along with a variety of other things. She stands tall even above the boys at six-three and even has a deeper than average voice. Along with the fact that she's a bit more muscular than average, she can be quite intimidating. The girl carries herself with weight and confidence and makes every action of her matter. What sucks for her is that she's nowhere near as feminine as she wishes she was. However the girl is curvy, and she still hits the gym and her time in the dance studio has done wonders for her. Usually, she has her hand on her hips or her waist as she walks. The girl is African-American and proud of it, she has extremely dark skin, thick lips, and afro-textured hair that she keeps in braids.

Nakala is a very strong-willed and determined human being. She takes a lot after her mother and the way that she was raised, and she was raised to be a strong woman, full of spirit that takes nothing from nothing. However, one difference that she has from her mother is that she has far better social skills, and is not ridiculously prideful as she was. Nakala herself is a very caring and loving human being who sometimes lets her pride cloud her judgment at times. Nakala herself only focuses on what's in front of her and hardly has time for distractions. She's less concerned with putting on fronts as she is with her immediate friend group and advancing herself. So rarely you'll see Nakala drawing unnecessary attention to herself or dressing flashy. However that isn't to say the girl is completely anti-social, she's perfectly fine talking to people. However, Nakala is extremely impatient and at times and that leads to her saying and doing things that alienate herself from friends or something rash.

Dancing ⫻ One thing Nakala has had a talent in is dancing. Since she was young she always took dance lessons that have evolved into being the assistant instructor for a dance studio and competing against other schools. She aspires to be in music videos and do it professionally.

Mechanic ⫻ Nakala's father was an auto mechanic, not the best job but it was something. However, the girl picked up a lot from her father because of her interest in it and also works part-time there now and then. She knows how to fix most cars better than men! All the looks she has received were hilarious when upstages the men!

FAMA Agent ⫻ Nakala is a former FAMA agent and while she's out all that training and knowledge is still fresh on her mind. She knows a lot about Deltahumans and how they function, hand to hand combat, and marksmanship. Most of all, she knows how to take on many different types of Deltahumans.

Nakala's mother was quite interesting, her name was Michelle Gallus and she was a Floridian woman born in Tampa that, after manifesting at a young age drifted into the woods. After a few weeks, she was picked up by a traveling circus which she lived with for a while until she eventually joined FAMA in its prime. She took the callsign, Scary Monster, and preformed numerous raids against the likes of REAPER and other Deltahuman threats. On the side, she met a man named Bryan Phillips and the two eloped, got married and soon enough Nakala was born. Bryan wasn't anything impressive, he owned an auto-garage, while Michelle worked as pretty much the primary breadwinner. There a slight bit of tension between the two because Michelle was more or less making way more than Bryan.

Well, Nakala was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennslyvania. She wasn't the overtly social kind of gal at first, she kept to herself growing up. Her mother taught her how to be independent of a young age, and taught her how dangerous the world was and how tough she had to be. She taught her skills she needed to be self-sufficient, including socially. Often the girl was responsible for getting herself to and from school and staying home by herself until one of the Phillips got one. However, she had one friend that she stuck through from kindergarten onwards; Olivia Clarke. This girl was her best friend and the two had more experiences together than anyone else because the two were inseparable. Nakala, throughout school, made friends with many people from all over. This was enough for Nakala, personally, but she found herself making more friends incidentally by taking up her interest in dancing. It, at first, was an after school thing eventually it evolved into a passion. She became so skilled at dancing throughout her younger years that it became a competitive thing for her - even going to different cities for the weekend just to compete!

Soon enough, Olivia manifested a type-blue power. It was the ability that gave her instinctive knowledge of biology that puts her above even the top minds in the field. The girl went insane with power as she created a new life, made cures for diseases, and other such things. Nakala thought that she should slow down... but then Olivia made her imp

Things changed for Nakala when REAPER attempted to kidnap the president and all hell broke loose and Michelle was sent there for backup. It was a nasty stressful time for the Phillips family as Bryan wanted Michelle to come back before she gets killed or something. They lost contact with Michelle and they assumed the worse... until it all blew over and it was revealed that Michelle survived. Except for the fact that she had lost her arm, and the insane amounts of PTSD she had from the incident. All the rampant violence and murder that took place took a toll on Michelle and she became an alcoholic wreck.

That hurt the Phillips family in more ways than one given their primary breadwinner was taken out of the picture. She got a huge check for losing her arm, but it wasn't long before the money was starting to dry up and Nakala had to take up odd jobs to help support the family. She had less time to hang out with her friends and live her passion but she managed to get a job at the dance studio. It was a small job as an "assistant instructor", which was the owner of the studio throwing her a bone.

Then the punches kept coming as Nakala eventually lost her closest friend, her emotional support. Nakala cleared her schedule and they went to a house party and Olivia went missing. At first, Nakala thought she went home, but eventually, she wasn't home and everyone was getting suspicious. Nobody knew where she was and there were several police reports put out but nobody could track Olivia Clarke. Things felt a little strange to Nakala as Livvy was only separated from her for only a short period and nobody knew where she was? Well, she launched her investigation into what had happened and it turned up no leads, and it seems the police were content with giving up. After all, Deltahumans disappear all the time? What makes Olivia anymore special than them?

Nakala eventually suspected REAPER was involved, but she didn't have a clue about how to go about it. Eventually, Nakala decided to join FAMA, it was hard leaving her dance studio behind but this was what she needed to find her friend. Nakala went through the six-month training program and came out as a special agent - and came out one of the best. For the next few years, Nakala rose through the ranks of FAMA, but she didn't give up on Olivia Clarke. No matter how many clearances she got she couldn't find. Eventually, while following reports of some Deltahuman kids causing trouble in Virginia... she found out that one of them had a red delta-crystal. Apparently one of them found the tiny crystal and used it to give their friends powers.

It gave her an idea. A stupid idea but one she was going to go through with nonetheless. She cut the kids a deal; if they give her the crystal, they get registered and she'll leave out all the crime they committed. That was when she went through with her plan. She scoured the dark web for information, she eventually found someone who'd get her in contact with REAPER, and arranged a meeting. She arranged for it to go down in the dead of the night - it was tense, but she showed up nonetheless. Nakala met with a REAPER agent who introduced herself as Davis... then he came.

Abel.

She was terrified of the tyrant, being REAPER's boogyman and the one responsible for the bloodshed that scarred her mother. However, she tried to stay strong and stand her ground. They had known who Nakala was and was expecting a trap but she stood strong and demanded to know information on Olivia Clarke. The information they insisted they didn't have, she tried to press them on it but Abel simply demanded the crystal. Against all logic Nakala refused and Abel moved to take it from her and her power manifested at that exact moment. Sparks of green lightning hit Abel and covered him in plants which... did nothing to stop him as he simply tore out of it.

However... another FAMA agent, named Maximilian Cornell, had his eye on her and launched a surprise attack against his arch-nemesis. They forced Abel to retreat but after he was gone Maximilian slapped cuffs on Nakala. They took her into the interrogation room and he personally interrogated her. That was when she broke down into tears and told him everything. She knew it was over for her - it was going to be a life of crime. However, Maximilian, out of the kindness of his heart apparently, decided to keep it off the books. Nakala knew it was only because he was close friends with her mother. However, he had one stipulation: Nakala resigns immediately or he'll tell them everything.

Forced with no other option, Nakala packed up her office and resigned. To clear her head, she visited some friends in LA to talk about what happened... then the incident happened. Fortunately, Nakala was able to save herself. Unfortunately, she's trapped in LA.

Botanical-Lightning

Nakala has a strange power that seems to be a mixture of plant manipulation and electrical manipulation. She can produce dark-green electricity like energy that looks and moves much like actual electricity but does not shock or burn on contact. It travels the speed of lightning and will more or less instantly reach its destination, but does not conduct whatsoever. What it does instead produces plant life when it comes in contact with any unplanted surface and causes an explosion of random plant life (From fruit-producing plants to bushes) that'll continuously grow as long as Nakala keeps pumping energy into it. She can also produce a continuous stream of electricity and can also charge up for a massive thunder-bolt that'll cause a huge explosion of plant-life if it comes in contact with a surface. If it comes in contact with existing plant matter, however, it'll cause explosive growth of that plant and only that plant. She can make a tree grow dozens of branches in a few moments and cause the grass to be obscuring. If the lightning strikes a seed it'll cause it to suddenly sprout and grow. Naturally, she can influence the direction it grows and in addition, she has a more traditional elemental ability to manipulate plants.

This power doesn't have too many direct uses, but she can produce plenty of this botanical-lightning and can drastically change the environment of an area given time. She can turn an area into a raging jungle if she has time, and this will allow her to produce barriers, bridges, and perhaps even food. If the lightning strikes a person it won't cause any damage to them other than causing plant growth on their being that can probably easily be torn off. The ability has a side-effect of putting insane amounts of oxygen into the air just by creating the lightning. Nakala has a secondary ability to support her primary, and it's a more direct plant manipulation. Nakala is unaware of the fact yet but she subconsciously produces small amounts of the energy where ever she goes and that gives her a connection to all plant life in the area. This means she can sense plants and communicate with them subconsciously... of course, plants can't talk, but she can detect their health state.

Nakala can create as much energy as her stamina allows her. Besides, it has a range of around eight meters and going past that range will cause it to immediately disperse. However, her power has two catches to function at its maximum; sunshine and environment. Nakala needs the sun to be touching her skin or else the plant growth will be stunted, which cuts her effectiveness in half indoors or at night. Also, she has trouble producing plant life on artificial surfaces such as concrete and metal.

First things first, the plants are weak against anything that'd normally damage plants such as ice, fire, toxins, etc, etc. The primary weakness of the power comes from the oxygen-producing quality, it fills the air with so much oxygen that even a slight spark can cause a huge flame. A huge flame that'd most likely set Nakala on fire because she's in the center of it. The other problem is that excessive amounts of oxygen is toxic and will cause nausea at best.

Yoko, while small as hell, carries one impressive ass aura around herself. She's around four-nine but she makes up for it by having one hell of a bite and a bark. She constantly gives off the aura of resting bitch face and makes herself hard to approach as possible. One probably wouldn't approach her anyway given her horrendous body odor and the fact that she's very unladylike. Now to get to the meat: yes, Yoko is East-Asian, pureblooded Japanese. Her skin is a golden yellowish tone, her eyes are slanted, and her hair is pretty straight (and also a black color). Back onto her traits; yes, Yoko is a tomboy and a humongous one. Her black hair is cut short into a pseudo-pixie cut, she usually wears dresses or anything, and she's very well built. Seriously, she goes to the gym and works out in her spare time so she's very very cut. Her attire covers up her body well given that she usually wears clothes a few sizes too big... and is very unfashionable. Though, she hides a bust of around 38H behind all of her heavy clothing, except no butt.

Confident but also an enormous pain in the ass. Due to years of living out in a rural place with no one around her but a bunch of men and boys... her personality matches it. Yoko is a loud, rude, outspoken young girl that isn't afraid to mince words. That's because of the way she is, she's innately impatient. She wants to get to the point and has no time dancing around subjects. Unfortunately, this can earn her the ire of the people around her and unfortunately for them: she doesn't give a shit. She's very passionate and kind, however, and interactions with her will show that, despite her confidence, she is very humble. She likes and breathes self-improvement and loves her family no matter what.

Yoko was born in very rural Japan. It was a very strange place, but it was at home. It was a special kind of rustic that Yoko pines for, but moving on. The Hatanaka family was a simple one: there was a wife, a husband, a daughter, and a son. Yoko was the daughter. Given that it was rural Japan, technology and other stuff were a rare commodity so she went playing outside along with her brother, Goro. Goro and Yoko were two of the closet friends out there! They had all sorts of fun, but death struck the Hatanaka family when their mother died of cancer. That was the first major change in their life which lead her to be super close with her older brother. He was into sports and working out, so Yoko joined him and also had a heavy presence of her grandfather in her life. So... in other words: Yoko didn't have a whole lot of ladies in her life. Which lead to her taking after the men in her life - not that was a bad thing but it was rather unusual.

Yoko went to a normal school out in their small town - but eventually, their father and grandfather had other bigger ideas. They felt like Yoko and Goro wouldn't get the education they wanted out in the sticks, so her father arranged for her to attend an international school. The Bordeaux International School in France. Once they were both of age they were shipped there. France was definitely a change of pace but Yoko learned excellent skills there, and she also picked up on English and French while in the international school.

However, she met her best friend there... the first female friend she ever had: Nakamura Aiko. The two were quite alike... both were Japanese tomboys that were shunted to France. Except, Aiko was from Los Angeles and Yoko was from Japan. Despite that minor difference Yoko and Aiko became the two best of friends and they shared their common interests. They both graduated school and went home... which for Yoko ended up being Los Angeles, which was where their friendship continued.

They lived on completely separate ends of the city but they would still make time for each other. Yoko went to University in LA while also working at a Japanese restaurant her aunt worked at. However, there was an incident that changed everything for Yoko, Aiko, and Goro. Yoko finally met Aiko's family and after some chatting, she realized that there was some bad blood between the Hatanakas and the Nakamura's (Or at least that's what Aiko told her). They forbade Yoko from ever seeing Aiko again and never to come near them. However, Yoko had nary a clue as to why... nor a plan to follow the Nakamura's wishes because screw them.

The two talked however they could and eventually they met in person. That was where things fell apart... Aiko made a confession to Yoko that shook up their entire dynamic. Things didn't go as planned and Aiko underwent an explosive Manifestation-Event... which in term also caused Goro and Yoko to manifest their powers as well. Except, Goro was injured during the chaos and ended up in a coma - while Aiko fled into the night being chased by FAMA. She got away but Yoko vowed to get Aiko to pay for her actions... in blood if she has to. Thus has been tracking Aiko down... except for the fact that her power is a pain in the tits. In fact, she wondered how in the hell she became a Deltahuman in the first place? Unless Goro or Aiko were exposed to the energies she had no clue because she never even seen a crystal.

Nonetheless, Yoko has been searching for Aiko... except until the incident occurred and LA got destroyed. Now her new goals are survival at any cost and trying to protect her family in the chaos. Maybe finding that bitch Aiko.

Chromatic (Yellow & Red)

Wyvern-Transformation.

Yoko was exposed to both the type-yellow and type-red energies and she is thus a chromatic-type Metahuman. She is, primarily a type-yellow with her ability allowing her to transform into a completely different form. Yoko doesn't have control over this ability, but when her emotions are elevated, or sometimes at complete random, she will trigger a transformation into a powerful two-winged, two-legged dragon-like creature. This isn't an instant transformation, it's a gradual transformation that means that she'll change over time. She'll start a wyvern no bigger than herself and she could get enormous, the largest size that Yoko has reached was the body of a minivan and wings that are thirty-feet long. This means that the longer that Yoko is transformed, the more powerful that she'll become. Her skin will be covered in durable scales that make it tough for blades to slice her and can only be impaled with significant force, and her bones will become a lot more durable. Naturally, Yoko will be capable of flight the second that she develops wings with massively strong wings, and the rest of her body will be incredibly strong being able to toss people around with ease with raw bestial strength. Yoko will get the ability of a super sense of smell... like a snake she can taste the air for scents and use that to track her targets. Her hearing will also increase to the point where she can hear a needle drop. Yoko will be one powerhouse on the battlefield if she gets to that point.

Minor-Pyrokinesis.

If I were to divide Yoko's power into percentages, her wyvern ability is 85% of her ability, with pyrokinesis being the remaining 15%. Yoko, even in human form, is capable of producing flames, though while human her flames are incredibly weak being able to create a baseball-sized fireball at most. However when Yoko transforms her ability to produce flames scales with her wyvern form (and it changes to mere firebreathing). She'll be able to fire a jet of flames like a flamethrower and be able to shoot massive fireballs that'll scorch people on contact. Her body, in wyvern form, is a lot more resistant to fire than her human form.

As stated before it's not exactly an ability that Yoko has control over. When she gets a bit too stressed or emotional, she'll trigger a transformation. This can be inconvenient depending on what she's doing and she could transform into her wyvern form at an inconvenient time. Now, as for the transformation itself: it ain't a pleasant one. To put it bluntly: It fucking hurts. Imagine some external force forcing your skeleton to adjust to that of a dragon? It'll sting like a bitch and Yoko will be bleeding a ton. Now as for the Wyvern form itself, it starts weak but gets stronger and it'd probably be easier to just kill Yoko when she first transforms because she'll be weakened. As it gets bigger she well; gets bigger. She becomes a bigger and harder target to shoot along with her speed going down. Along with the fact that her mental processes will slow down and become more bestial. She'll go off instinct and less of sense the further into the transformation she is and will have a harder time controlling herself. If her transformation is emotional enough; then she'll end up being a mindless beast. Now, in her wyvern form, she'll reach a point where she's more or less immune to fire. Only in her wyvern form, however. In her human form, she's still vulnerable to it like everyone else and will try not to use her pyrokinesis. In her wyvern form, her vision will gradually decrease the stronger she gets until she has no choice but to rely on her hearing and sense of smell. Unfortunately, that can play against her with extreme sensory attacks. If she's incapacitated or she calms down she'll revert to human form, unconscious. And naked. That'd suck too.

Quite a standout individual in her home town, granted that she was the tallest female at her school and pretty much everywhere she went. Standing at six-two, Rita is taller than a lot of boys and few girls do more than reach her shoulders. It's the last thing that Rita wanted to inherit from her parents because she doesn't like standing out and drawing attention to herself. Rita is a very bony girl that has little to no width to her body, so she's tall but not very big. Her shoulders are relatively thin and despite her height, she barely looks masculine. Her cup size is a 34C and she isn't the type that fills out her jeans. Rita is Caucasian to her bone, but she honestly doesn't know what race she is exactly. Her mother says that she's French, but that doesn't add up at all. Rita's just white in her eyes. She's got brown hair that's shoulder-length with blonde highlights.

PSYCHOLOGY

"What my mother did... it fucked me up, but I am going to do what I can to get back at her."

MAIN GOAL ⫻ Rita's main goal is to "fix" what her mother did to her and become the girl she was always meant to be. A wild free spirit, not this contained a paranoid wreck of a girl. She also, deep down, wants revenge against her mother.

PHILOSOPHY ⫻ In Rita's eyes, nothing should be taken at face value nor is it straight forward. People are some of the most complex people in the world and if anyone tries to present themselves as "simple" then they're probably lying about something. Nothing is ever the way it seems.

SECRETS ⫻ Rita keeps most of her life private by reflex, merely because she's afraid that people will use it against her as her mother taught.

SEXUALITY ⫻ Rita has no clue what her sexuality is, she's had fun with both boys and girls but it's all been purely physical. So far she hasn't felt an iota of this emotion called "love".

FEARS ⫻ While Rita has made huge strides to open up and interact with people, Rita is still very paranoid of other people's intentions. She keeps herself closed off because she's afraid of somebody taking advantage of it.

REPUTATION ⫻ Rita isn't even from Araminta. She has no clue why she's here, and the same goes for the inhabitants. Rita is a stranger.

QUIRKS ⫻ Rita has difficulty keeping eye contact with people and has a habit of looking away or letting herself get "distracted" by something.

FLAWS ⫻ Because of her extreme sheltered upbringing, Rita has horrible social skills. Slang and other terms fly over her head as she doesn't know how to act in every situation and has a habit of saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. Very paranoid and overly cautious, and somewhat childish and emotionally immature.

BACKSTORY

"I hate my mother so much."

So, if you've been reading everything so far you can probably get a good idea of what I'm going to do here.

Rita was born in rural Florida, not too far away from Tampa, to her mother Jane Shaw. Now, Jane has some problems that could not be ignored, yes, she was a very intelligent and talented woman that became a Sergeant in the army. However, she suffered from a myriad of mental disorders that, ultimately, ended up with her being separated from the army and she retired to Florida. She kept to herself, working as a doctor using what skills she could use from the army, and stayed home. She eventually, with some convincing from her family, went out to a bar and met a guy and they had sex. The experience was a great one for her for a large number of reasons, but worst of all she ended up pregnant from it. Jane didn't believe in abortion and kept the child, naming it after her late grandmother Rita. However, Jane was not a great mother, nor was she particularly fit for doing it.

Jane homeschooled Rita and kept her isolated from the outside world as possible in an attempt to shield the world from the things she has seen. Rita was homeschooled and was hardly allowed to socialize with anyone that didn't share their last name. While this created a child as intelligent and studious as Jane herself this severely stunted her emotional growth and social skills. If things went the way that they had Rita would never have been prepared for the outside world or to be an adult. And Rita wouldn't have known until it was too late. Life has a way it seems, Rita wondered if it was destiny or something else, but she had made a friend out of a neighbor. A girl her age named Brooke Vanburen. Brooke was the only friend that Rita and Brooke helped her realize something was wrong with her life. They talked through the fence whenever Jane would let Rita play in the yard, but Brooke showed her so much. How Jane was being oppressive to her.

This eventually gave rise, with some help, to some small rebellions starting with Rita breaking the routine to talking back to Jane. This ended with Jane putting Rita on lockdown but that didn't help. Rita was smart as she was, eventually, she figured out a way to communicate with Brooke via the usage of letters. It wasn't long however until Jane found the letters and went into a fit of rage. Jane marched towards the door to have a strong word with the Vanburens but Rita got the impression that Jane was going to kill Brooke. In an attempt to "save" her friend, Rita attacked Jane and a fight ensued between the two that ended when Jane fell over onto her back. The woman curled up into a ball and started crying, eventually, the police came in and sorted everything out. After getting the full story from everyone it was decided that Jane would be separated from Rita.

Rita ended up in Orlando Florida where her grandparents lived because no other Shaw or Shaw affiliate would touch Rita with a twelve-foot stick. Fortunately, Rita was able to keep in touch with Brooke and was given a cellphone and many therapy lessons... but Rita felt like an alien where ever she went. It was a slow process but eventually, Rita made friends but still felt awkward with herself. Yes, she was intelligent enough to get through school rather easily but she felt like she didn't belong there. After her graduation, Rita disappeared from her grandparent's home without a trace, she didn't know where she was going but it wasn't there.

Eventually, Rita ended up back in her home town and reunited with Brooke. From there the two went through every bar, party, and beach in town with the usage of many fake IDs. It wasn't long until Rita was kicked out of the Vanburen household, but she ended up using her good looks to score a place to stay with some boys. Taking the bus around town before she came across somebody familiar to her: Jane Shaw. Rita and Jane stared at each other silently before Rita blamed Jane for everything. Jane took everything in stride and apologized for it all, but that wasn't good enough for Rita. Eventually, the girl attacked her mother and in the ensuing tussle they ended up in the street... in the way of a passing vehicle. All Rita could see was the light's blinding headlights barrelling towards her at speeds she couldn't react to...

... Then she woke up in the middle of some weird place.

Appearance ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ "I guess while my mother looked better in her prime; I accepted myself for what I am." Katie's somewhat unconventional in terms of her appearance. Due to her own lifestyle, she lacks the body that both her mother and her mother had her age. To put it simply, Kaitlyn Liao is overweight, and she no longer sees that as a bad thing anymore. Kaitlyn due to not inheriting her brother's metabolism is quite heavy in terms of weight, she has a gut, tons of stretch marks, and fat in her facial area. However, this weight has enhanced what little sex appeal she has because she wasn't going to get any from her flat-chested and assed mother. She, at the very least, has 36F cup size, and her behind sticks out in jeans even if she's not a super big fan of tight clothing. Speaking of which, Katie is a fan of dresses and skirts and will most likely be seen wearing that. In contrast to her twin brother, her primary color is blue. Unlike the rest of her family, Kaitlyn gives off a relatively reserved and quiet aura. She rarely, if ever, raises her voice and definitely shows level-headedness and calmness like no other. Whenever she walks, she always walks slowly and is careful as to where she steps, however she shows a bit of confidence. Almost as if she is some type of royalty or even a supermodel. She has adopted her own brand of confidence even if she isn't conventionally attractive. Even though she's somewhat stand out due to her height, she stands pretty tall at the male average height. This is because she, again, inherited her mother's massive height (who got it from her mother). Fortunately, Katie's not gonna get any taller. This is pretty abnormal given that Katie is Chinese to her very bone and they aren't known for being all that tall. What sucks is that she's still pretty overweight. She has off-white skin with heavy golden overtones and facial features very consistent with her people. Despite looking Chinese, Kaitlyn is fully American and speaks with a completely American accent. As stated before she has plenty of stretch marks on her body but she doesn't really have a whole lot of scars due to her inactive lifestyle. However, she has a tattoo on her back of a panther with a flower that she got on a dare in defiance with her mother. Katie's sigil, a symbol of a wave, rests on the middle of the right side of her neck for the world to see.

MAIN GOAL ⫻ The young Kaitlyn Liao is still discovering herself. She wants to keep to herself above all else, mainly due to the fact that she thinks all people should be the same way. This is why she keeps these grand goals of improving humanity to herself, however, she wishes to pursue her dream of becoming a Marine Biologist and discover all that she can about the Ocean. She wants to get her Masters so she can be the expert in the subject that she was always meant to be. However, as of late Kaitlyn has been trying to get over breaking up with her girlfriend.

PHILOSOPHY ⫻ Live and let live. Katie believes that people should focus less on what other people are doing and focus more on what concerns them. That far too many people don't love themselves and focus too much on tearing each other down rather than building each other up. And for what? A small amount of satisfaction before you continue the vicious cycle? Kaitlyn desires to break out of this cycle of negativity and find new ways to love herself rather than hating other people.

SECRETS ⫻ Kaitlyn's main secret is the fact that she's bisexual and the fact that she spent the last two years in a same-sex relationship. She knows her mother would renounce her if she found out, and keeps any mention of it strictly off social media. Katie is also a very secretive person in general that makes what she does, where she came from, and where she is, private as possible.

SEXUALITY ⫻ Bisexual, or something, she's questioning it herself. Initially, Kaitlyn believed that she was a lesbian but she seems to be attracted to both sides. Kaitlyn has an affinity towards other females but she hasn't exactly been acting on it lately. She's getting over a rather nasty break up and she wants some time alone to heal before she starts anew. The girl is somewhat bashful and shy, and doesn't act on her sexuality.

FEARS ⫻ Katie fears her mother finding out about her sexuality and her secret relationship. Mainly because she hates disappointing her mother and she wouldn't approve of such a relationship.

REPUTATION ⫻ Because of her nature, Kaitlyn is relatively unknown throughout Araminta. If most people see her they probably wouldn't have a clue who she is. She likes it that way. However, she's been acting as a lifeguard at the local pool and a few people know her due to how diligent and professional she is for her age. At the University of Araminta, she's also a bit more well-known throughout her classes for being academic, kind, and reserved above all else. Kaitlyn has a growing social media presence, and while she isn't a model or even a verified account she has a lot of people following her adventures.

FLAWS ⫻ Kaitlyn has been repressing herself and her true feelings for a while. As a coping mechanism because she doesn't really like confrontation she usually lets things slide that she knows that she shouldn't. This causes her to bottle up things and it causes her to hold grudges against people. This can really be bad because eventually, eventually, she'll let all of those actions out in an explosive display and usually she ends up doing something that she regrets. Kaitlyn is very slow to anger but if you keep pressing her you'll also find that she's very hard to control. She even has a hard time controlling herself and, again, ends up doing something that she regrets. She's always afraid of doing the wrong thing at the wrong time, ruining it, and being scolded for it. Which is why Kaitlyn always ends up going with the "safe option" rather than striking out and risking it. This ends up costing her opportunity after opportunity to make herself happy. Even then Kaitlyn has the unfortunate habit of saying the wrong thing, at the wrong time. There's also that ever-present feeling that she's an outsider and that she doesn't belong to any particular group that she attaches herself to.

Kaitlyn Liao was the daughter of Meifeng Liao and Daniel Liao, a Chinese immigrant and a man born in the states that met in college and eloped. Meifeng got pregnant with Kaitlyn... and her twin brother Justin.

There was a stark difference between the two. The two were a pair of wild and rambunctious people that caused headaches for their mother, father, and all other blood relatives in the vicinity. However, Kaitlyn was the more wild and passionate of the two, far more emotional than even her hotblooded brother. But, other than that Katie's early life didn't have much of note, Meifeng was at home raising them while his father was making the money for them to live comfortably. This built up a deep innate connection between the twins and their mother, who imparted many of her ideas and philosophy upon the twins - though she was unhappy with staying home by herself. Their grandmother, Lihua Zhao, stepped in and offered to take some of the workloads off Meifeng so she could pursue a career in the Police Force. Their dual-earner family is what earned them a lot of money, and in turn, helped them live comfortably in Los Angeles.

However, Katie was close to her grandmother who taught her, in time, that she as a woman needed to be calmer and more reserved. That she needed the discipline that her brother lacked - but she told her that her mother was the same way. She first and foremost taught her everything that she needed to learn when she became a mother herself. Mostly how to lead, how to defuse situations, also things like how to cook, and also trying to teach her some discipline and controlling her emotions. Along with teaching Kaitlyn how to be strong, self-reliant, and above all else. At the cost of making her like an old lady. This meant that Kaitlyn fulfilled the role of calming her more hotblooded brother.

Speaking of which, the two were almost diametrically opposed to one another. Justin was more of a hot-blooded rebel growing up and Kaitlyn was more orderly. Most of their time together was Justin trying his best to drag Kaitlyn into bad decisions in order to get her to "loosen up" and usually got them in trouble. Sometimes it ended up with Kaitlyn in the back of a police car going home to a very pissed off Meifeng. However, Kaitlyn felt like it was her duty to stop Justin from doing stupid stuff for fun and Justin thought that his twin sister acted like a grandmother. And growing up they drifted apart, just a bit, due to their drastically different personalities. It started with talking to each other less and it pretty ended with them, hardly, if ever, interacting unless they were stuck together. However, they still were able to treat each other civily.

Though, there was one passion in particular with Kaitlyn; the ocean. It started out when she was young but she really loved the beach and playing in the water. It was so calming and relaxing to her and fun, and as she aged she learned more and more about the ocean and the little critters inside of it. When she was stressed she would always think about the ocean and she even downloaded the sound of waves crashing against the shore that she uses to calm herself. Kaitlyn wanted to learn more.

However, growing up under Meifeng's parenting was tough. The woman was strict and hardly accepted fairly, especially not from her daughter. Around this time, Kaitlyn had packed on a lot of baby fat and Meifeng didn't exactly approve of it. She tried to force Kaitlyn into getting exercise by signing her up for the swim class (might as well work with her rather than against it). It didn't work as Kaitlyn seemed to not take the idea that there was something wrong with her too well. Eventually, Meifeng gave up and let Kaitlyn do her own thing but this created a rift between them that's not easy to mend.

Kaitlyn loved the ocean more than anything and she wanted to explore it, learn the animals that are in the ocean, and make breakthroughs as a scientist. Which lead to Kaitlyn taking up Marine Biology and going to the illustrious University of Araminta, where her twin-brother got sent to live with their grandmother in Farmer Hill and eventually go to a school local to the town. Being away from her family caused a huge shift in her life as she tried to get her master's degree. Kaitlyn realized something inside of her, the fact that she was more sexual than she let on. This didn't mean that she slept around, she realized that she was more attracted to people than she thought. And in time, she soon realized that it wasn't just boys she liked.

Though the girl was in no rush to get into a relationship. She merely stayed focus on getting her degree and like most cliche college-aged kids she got a job at a local coffee shop not too far away from the university. At most, her side hobby was chronicling her adventures (I.E going to the river and taking pictures of it and places she eats) on Instagram. Things changed when she ran into a girl named Amelia Dallon... it was a strange experience as the girl was seemingly at her coffee shop every day, then she found out that she was at the university too. Eventually, they started hanging out and became friends, and eventually, Amelia dropped the question. It was strange for Kaitie, but she decided to try it out. The two went out on a few dates and had all types of fun and eventually decided to become a couple. And things were happy for the next two years.

All good things come to an end. It all started a few months before the start of the story when Justin called her all frantic explaining to her that her grandmother was murdered by something. This caused grief like no other in Kaitlyn as she became withdrawn from her social circle, classes, and eventually Amelia. After her grandmother's funeral, Kaitlyn took some time to herself. However, this didn't sit too well with Amelia as she felt like she was being neglected and ignored - mixed with the fact that she felt like Kaitlyn was ashamed of her (Which wasn't wrong). Amelia kept trying to get close to Kaitlyn while she pushed her away.

Eventually, Kaitlyn gave into Amelia and went out to a date at a nice restaurant. It was awkward as Kaitlyn felt that the magic between them was dying and ultimately chose to break it off. However, Amelia didn't take that too well and as Katie tried to walk away she grabbed her. She cried her heart out about how she loved Katie and how it couldn't end like this and it got mad creepy for Kaitlyn. Eventually, a fight broke out between the two as Kaitlyn tried to fight her ex off, and in the middle of the struggle both Amelia and Kaitlyn Awakened. Amelia has pushed away from Kaitlyn with a sudden wave and couldn't get close to her. All while Kaitlyn hauled ass back to her dorm.

This was strange as her Awakening unlocked an abstraction relating to the ocean. It felt like the ocean was at her very fingertips as she can bring it to hers. It was a beautiful experience that was unlike any other. However, Kaitlyn tried to move on with her life.

This was around the time her brother called her...

TYPE ⫻ Awakened.

ABSTRACTION ⫻ Thalassomancery, Kaitlyn can summon the ocean and control it with a snap of her fingers.

ABSTRACTION DESCRIPTION ⫻ Kaitlyn's ability is mainly rooted in her love of the ocean and her inner calmness and peaceful nature. Her abstraction is a strange mixture of ocean manipulation and water generation as she can summon water from the ocean and manipulate it. It functions not too much differently from hydromancy, she can summon water from the ocean in a fifteen-meter radius and telekinetically manipulate it. She can notably summon the water in the form of a water spout, whirlpool, tidal wave, etc, etc - and even in the shape of animals. However, she summons it she can telekinetically manipulate it through a per. Kaitlyn's water manipulation isn't quite like regular elemental abilities in the way that she has precise control. This ability is raw, destructive, wild... and she's not capable of finer techniques like functional telekinesis. Think of it less like controlling water and more of violently pushing water around. Kaitlyn can use this to create violent tidal waves with a snap of her fingers, but she can also create whirlpools, tornados, etc etc. Thus, Kaitlyn has a large amount of offensive, defensive, and even mobility options. At will, she can dispel it.

This ability comes with a few sub-abilities that Kaitlyn finds useful. For starters, Kaitlyn can walk on water and she can use this ability to perform feats such as riding waves. This is normally subconsciously on at all times but she can disable it at will and swim. Kaitlyn can, for whatever reason, breath indefinitely while submerged in the ocean. This ability functions by teleporting air from a multitude of different dimensions into her lungs so she will never find herself without breath.

AURA SENSING ⫻ Kaitlyn's aura sensing allows her to see the auras of what is soaked or submerged in water up to thirty meters away. She can tell which is what by the intensity of its aura as soaked objects have a less intense aura while what is submerged down.

LIMITS ⫻ Emotional-Fields inhibit Kaitlyn's ability somewhat... she can't summon water inside of someone's body or instantly drown them in water. Of course, she can still summon water around them and attack them but she can't force it down someone's throat. Kaitlyn can summon water anywhere in a fifteen-meter radius, which isn't that far of a range. Kaitlyn can summon enough water to fill up a moderately sized river and she can dispel it at will. She also can only manipulate ocean water... and since she's nowhere near an ocean she can only manipulate the water that she is summoning. Mixing ocean water with regular water will not bode well for her. Also, she lacks precise control over the water and it's more of a raw uncontrollable force that is prone to collateral damage.

WEAKNESSES ⫻ Kaitlyn's abstraction comes with two weaknesses. First summoning water cools her body down, and the bigger the summon the more her body will cool down. Small effects won't have any noticeable effects but the more dramatic summons will cause one hell of a chill. If she cuts loose she'll come out of the engagement with hypothermia or may even freeze herself to death. The abstraction also causes an uncomfortable feeling of cold water on her body that gets worse the more she uses it. Along with the loss of breath as if she was drowning in the water as if she's being submerged. Kaitlyn's abstraction also dehydrates her body as if she just consumed food rich in sodium, so she has to constantly hydrate to keep using her abstraction because it'll completely cut off if she does.

APPEARANCE

"I'm short, yeah, but I'm tall in all the right places."

A very proud and youthful young man just from the look. Just from his demeanor, you can tell he's very carefree and easy going - just from how lax he is about a lot of things. He walks around with confidence and a cocky swagger - mixed with a good old fashioned New Yorker accent. His voice is loud, but not as deep as he was hoping which kind of makes his behavior fall flat a lot of the time. Jaden is African-American at first look, but he's more than willing to tell you that he's mixed. His father is primarily Haitian and some West African countries and his mother is Columbian. His skin is dark with some cuts and bruises, he's got afro-textured hair, and his lips are thick - the usual. You wouldn't notice the hair though because he keeps it cut very short for personal reasons. In terms of build, Jaden is very short - like he stands at the female height. Which sucks because he wishes he was taller, but whenever he does a pull-up things are way easier. Jaden is in pretty good shape from working out - and let's be real; he's not the type to laze around and get fat. He's not super buff, but he's skinny and toned as all hell. He's got legs and chest muscles.

Jaden's sigil is on his chest, his right pectoral muscle. Given that he's apart of a Collective Awakening he has a sigil for each Abstraction, with the sigil of a book representing his primary abstraction. A vaguely Chameleon shape representing the abstraction from his sister is underneath it. The symbol of a target and a shield represents his blaster and barrier abstraction respectively are next to the chameleon.

PSYCHOLOGY

"I wanna help people yo, I just don't want to be some weirdo that plays Playstation all day."

MAIN GOAL ⫻ Currently, Jaden's goal is to find his twin sister Cierra before something terrible happens to her. Previously Jaden's goal was to get enlisted in to the Marines but that didn't go as well as he was hoping for but at least he got his degree!

PHILOSOPHY ⫻ It may surprise you but Jaden is somewhat philosophical just from the way he was raised. He believes that strength and power are everything - just not physical strength. He wants the world to see him as strong, regardless of the price. People should be self-sufficient in his eyes, but he's willing to loan his strength to other people.

SECRETS ⫻ Jaden doesn't have any secrets, that sick's wack.

FEARS ⫻ Jaden is afraid of being weak, being useless, being scared. This is why he acts all proud, aggressive, and rebellious - he wants the world to know that he isn't weak or a coward and will do anything to appear otherwise. REPUTATION ⫻ Jaden's reputation around Araminta varies - he visits Church every Sunday and is somewhat religious. However, because of his skin color and past behavior, many denizens of Araminta are wary of the boy.

BACKSTORY

"If you like your teeth don't mention Lynnette."

Jaden was born in New York City baby! To a very high ranking member of some technology firm situation in New York. He was no CEO, but he had more than a living wage - all because of good schooling. Jago's mother was a deaf woman who was one of his coworkers that were brought upon to show that his business is diverse. Eventually, the two got romantically involved, and he ended up marrying her - not before putting a baby in her! The first child was Lynette Dominguez, then afterward were the Dominguez twins: Jaden and Cierra Dominguez. The three had everything they ever needed: a nice house, good schooling, and whatever else they wanted came in time. Unlike the eldest Dominguez, who was attracted to learning; Jaden and Cierra had too much energy for that garbage. That energy ended up with them acting out when they got of age; so the two were invested into sports. Cierra into soccer, Jaden into basketball and whatever else he could get his hands on. Jaden was badass when you handed him a basketball and is talented with it to this very day. When he got older he ended up in his school's basketball team, and this ended with Jaden getting lots of social connections and parties and whatever. Where ever Jaden went, people knew him. It was like a dream! However, as popular as he was, he couldn't help but feel like he didn't want this.

Jaden could go pro, but did he want to? Yup, it just didn't feel right with him. Ultimately, Jaden went against his friend's best wishes and decided to expand his horizons with other hobbies. After one art class went wrong, he gave Marine JROTC a try and immediately fell in love. It was the higher purpose that Jaden needed and perfect for an athlete like him. Throughout all of his high school years, he spent it doing NROTC classes and drills - he just wished he was allowed to shoot a gun! But, he had all the military discipline and knowledge that he needed to make it big - well, big as a Marine could make it! He still went to parties along with his sister Cierra, while Lynette... did Lynette things. They couldn't relate to her too much, but they tried their best to be her friend. They had their ups and downs but eventually, they connected to her and she helped them a lot with their school work.

Things were great... until Daddy Dominguez got a job in Araminta, Pennslyvania. A place that Jaden didn't even hear about! It was such bullshit, but it was his last year of high school anyway. After Cierra and Jaden graduated, the family set off to Araminta. It was weird being in a state different from where he grew up - at most they went on vacation to Florida. He didn't have any of his homies to surround him! Jaden looked to his older sister Lynette for guidance since she was never super connected to people in the first place. There was one problem with his plan on going into the service; his father didn't want him going into the service - not without a degree that is. He wanted his son to have a fallback plan and also to have some rank in the military when he got in.

So Jaden went to Araminta community college and got a degree in cybersecurity - he bet he could find a good job in the Marines for him. All while continuing to do NROTC in college and getting help from his older sister when he could. Their connection grew as Lynette became a de facto mentor to Jaden, helping him out whenever she could. It wasn't long until the two separated as Lynette went to a place known as Grand Ridge Academy in a rush, but they kept in touch. After he graduated, the first place he went to was the recruiter's office and everything was going well. He did the ASVAB (scored a 62) and went on his merry way to MEPS and everything was going well... until he got drug tested. They found traces of marijuana and he was immediately disqualified - fortunately, his NROTC credentials were enough to allow him to retest... in six months. Which meant Jaden had to sit around bored in Araminta.

Everything was not perfect as Jaden received news as to what happened in Farmer Hill and lost contact with Lynette. It was news of a massive earthquake that ravaged the town and killed many... unfortunately, Lynette was a victim. This was news that destroyed Jaden to his core and sent him into a depression. Watching Lynette get lowered into the ground destroyed him inside, however, Jaden tried to hide his sorrow by acting the same as usual. Even though he has matured to the core.

However, around one month was when all the weird occurrences in Araminta began. First Jaden just shrugged it off as superstition before Jaden came face to face with the masked killer running around. He was out with some friends and his sister partying down by the river when that crazy fucker with a mask attacked him. Jaden, first and foremost tried to fight the bastard off but the freak was way above them. The serial killer chased his group around until they got separated. They all ended up in one abandoned house where they made their final stand. However, Jaden and his friends Awakened... and it ended up being a Collective Awakening. It was weird, but they managed to fight off the thing and force it to retreat.

Afterward, Jaden wondered what the fuck is going on. As he tried to learn his newfound power with his sister but after a few nights she went missing. Jaden looked all over the place for her, yet he could not find her no matter where he looked. And nobody seemed to care. She wasn't a victim of the serial killer... nor did Jaden think she could be a victim. She was too strong for that...

NROTC ⫻ Jaden's primary claim to fame is all the work he did in JROTC and NROTC. He's pretty much an expert when it comes to the Marines and if he actually resisted the urge to smoke that one joint he would probably have aced basic training. He knows all the exercises off the bat, the history of the marines, land navigation, leadership, the basics of marksmanship, swimming, and all traditions.

Basketball ⫻ Before Jaden went to the NROTC, he was a star basketball player. He was extremely good and probably could have gone NBA if it didn't feel weird to the teen. He still plays from time to time and he hasn't lost a step.

Cyber-Security Degree ⫻ Before Jaden was allowed to enlist he decided to get a degree in something. He choose Cyber-Security because it sounded just military enough for him... and then realized this was probably a degree for the airforce. That said, he knows computers really well, like operating them and repairing them comes easy as hell to him. He, obviously, knows how to do stuff like monitor systems and deal with cyber attacks.

ABSTRACTION DESCRIPTION ⫻ When Jaden was attacked by the Horde he gained four different Abstractions from his sister and two friends. It's theorized that Jaden has 50% of his own ability, 30% of his sister's, and 10% of his two friends.

FAMIMILIAL REFLECTION ⫻ Jaden's own abstraction and it is rooted in how he misses his sister and how he used to call on her for guidance. It's not exactly an ability that Jaden can call on at will, as he represses his grief but when Jaden is stuck or curious about something a ghostly copy of his sister, Lynette, will appear before him. This copy of his sister is a short African-American girl with an afro of hair and dresses in jeans and a plain t-shirt... except she is completely transparent. He can only see the outline of her as she causes a vibration in the air where ever she goes. She has no combat potential, but what she can do is give him information about what Jaden is stuck on. Say if he's trapped in a room and wants to get out, she can tell him about how the doorknob is old and can be broken. Sometimes she will drop in and give him information about any question he might have at the moment before disappearing. Jaden will be able to control this ability in time as he learns how to handle his grief over his sister.

CHAMELEON ⫻ Because Jaden is so close to his sister, he gained an abstraction reflecting her. She is a girl that is sneaky as hell and loves reptiles, so Jaden can channel that and slowly blend into the environment. It's a slow process but Jaden can channel this ability to blend into an environment and turn semi-invisible. Semi, as he can still be seen to the keen eye as if he's changing colors to the environment. This won't fool the most extra-normal beings but is handy.

PERCISE-SHOTS ⫻ Jaden's best friend in NROTC and joined him when he went to MEPS was Reese. A kid from a bad neighborhood that bonded pretty well with Jaden, and Jaden and him had a mutual hobby of shooting. Jaden thought he was an excellent shot, so that fueled this abstraction. Jaden can fire tiny blasts of supernatural energy out of his hands, which are extremely precise and accurate albeit weak. He can fire them with such preciseness he can shoot an apple off someone's head. The blasts are no stronger than a punch, but he can fire them with such preciseness that he can cause a lot of damage if he puts his shots right.

BARRIER-GENERAION ⫻ Because Jaden is not familiar with Mariah, he merely gained a piece of her abstraction. This abstraction is rooted from two things; Mariah's desire to protect herself and her siblings from their abusive father and at the time, her desire to protect herself from the horde. However, since Jaden only has a small fraction of her far more powerful shielding ability it isn't as powerful as he would like. He can produce a circular shield in front of himself long as he is stationary that'll stop most baseline physical attacks in their tracks and if he focuses he'll be able to handle supernatural-strength. The shield is transparent but a blue color and he can manifest it all will.

AURA SENSING ⫻ Jaden's aura reading is very situational and at times useless. He has the ability to sense the aura of his sisters and can see items belonging to them up to twenty meters away. They are illuminated in a bright blue aura and if it's an item that belongs to them, Jaden can gather how long ago they touched it from the intensity of its aura. The thicker the aura, the shorter the time they had contact with it. Of course, since one of his sisters is deceased this doesn't have too much use. Jaden can also sense the members of his Collective from the same distance.

LIMITS ⫻ As it stands Jaden has no control over the Familial Reflection. It only appears the less Jaden thinks about it and if Jaden actively wants its help, it will not appear. There's also the fact that he cannot control what information it gives. It just knows a lot, it doesn't mean that what information it gives will be useful. The Chameleon ability allows Jaden to turn semi-invisible but it takes a few seconds for it to take effect and Jaden has to move slow to retain it. If he runs too fast he'll have to take a few seconds for the stealth to catch up. The barrier is strong enough to withstand one powerful blow before it disappears and he has to wait for it to recharge. At most, it can handle a few rounds from a pistol before it breaks. He also has to be completely stationary to utilize it so yeah. Jaden can only produce the barrier in front of himself. Jaden can only fire one precise shot every ten seconds and it has a range of around ten feet. He can only fire ten shots before he has to wait a few minutes for it to "reload".

WEAKNESSES ⫻ The Familial-Reflection has no physical weaknesses but it has a mental weakness. Jaden is trying his best to repress his feelings about his deceased sister and the Familial Reflection brings it up. It's to the point where he actively tries not to use this abstraction despite its usefulness and power. Whenever Jaden uses the Chameleon, his own vision becomes blurry and dark. The barrier comes at the cost of his mobility as Jaden has to be standing still in order to use it, if he moves the barrier will fade from existence. The Precise shots come with a recoil that hurts his hands the more he uses it and comes with a very loud sound that only Jaden can hear that disorients him.

Meifeng is quite intimidating at first. With her abnormal height - inherited from her mother - and her well-built frame, many people are put off from her until she opens her mouth and smiles widely. Giving people a reassuring aura that counteracts that aura of a cold soldier that people first detect off of her. When she's out and around friends, she comes off as quite energetic, and friendly. As stated before, Meifeng is quite tall. She's five-eleven, and that means she essentially towers over her fellow female peers and stands up there with the big boys (Which has been a constant source of teasing and ire). This gives people the idea that her own mother was an Amazon (Which isn't that far off). However, her strong, well-built, frame doesn't really give way in the way of curves. Her chest is 30A (One thing she wishes was bigger), and she feels like she has to shop in the kid's sections. Her hips and behind aren't very appealing, and she lacks the feminine appeal - up into one glance at her face.

Meifeng is obviously Asian, a pureblood Chinese woman. No, she isn't "yellow." Her skin - which is white with heavy golden overtones - makes this very obvious. Her Asianic facial features make this even more obvious. Despite the fact that she's directly from China, she's been in America so long that her accent is only faint. However, throughout the years, Meifeng has gotten herself plenty of marks. Before, these were only scars on her knuckles, and scars on her legs and arms from sports-related injuries. A few years ago, you could say that these were just marks that implied that she liked a little roughhousing.

She likes to go for a blend of comfort, and style. She always found athletic wear to be comfortable, so she likes to wear basketball shorts, with some T-shirt, and sneakers. However, Meifeng will wear jeans, jackets, and whatever other clothes she'd find appropriate. Though, the only kind of trouser she won't wear is a skirt or a dress. You won't catch her dead in either of those. Meifeng's outfits can be called tom-boyish because of this. This brings that tomboy assertion even further is the fact that she even wears boys boxers and a sports bra.

PSYCHOLOGY

MAIN GOAL ⫻ Meifeng wants to find her mother and younger sister... who, deep down, she knows is more than likely dead. She knows that the world is over and any chances of a normal life is now a pipe dream. Meifeng simply wants to go out with a bang and make the apocalypse as enjoyable as possible.

PHILOSOPHY ⫻ Passion above all else, that is what Meifeng believes in. She thinks that people can feel stuff for a reason, yes and people shouldn't be afraid to show their emotions and believe in what they believe in. And whatever someone believes in; they should be ready to die for it at a moment's notice.

SECRETS ⫻ Meifeng keeps her innate depression, sorrows, and anything that betrays her passionate nature a secret. In all honestness, it's all a facade, one that anyone with half a brain can see through. She knows that the world's fucked and just really wants to have some last fun before it goes out.

BACKSTORY

"Lonliness is a bitch."

So to be brief, Meifeng was born in China and her mother, Lihua Zhao, was an Olympic athlete before she decided to move on from China after the death of her husband. They settled in the great city of Los Angeles and Lihua took up a nice office job that paid well... but given that she was a workaholic she spent more time at the job than at home. And what time she spent home; she was knocked out or drunk off her ass. The illustrious Lihua Zhao was definitely not quite illustrious behind closed doors. Which meant that Meifeng had to be independent; she did most of the household cooking and cleaning for herself. In addition to her studying and other extracurricular activities. However, Meifeng desired more; she wanted her mother's attention and friendship as her childhood was definitely a lonely one. Especially since her English was terrible going to school and she had a hard time grasping it. Which made her the target of much ridicule and bullies; until she met her future best friend, Jennifer Caspin. Jennifer was also an outcast and a savvy one at that; she helped Meifeng learn English and they formed an inseparable bond despite their personalities being polar opposites.

Along the way, Meifeng made other friends, such as Cindy Keagan, that she had all the way to graduating grade school. Though there was one hitch that Meifeng didn't expect; the birth of her little sister Lijuan Zhao. Lijuan was born from a drunken one night stand that Lihua had with a coworker, and Lihua held onto the child of course. Meifeng loved her little sister unconditionally. After school, Meifeng was unsure what she wanted to do with her life; her friend Cindy went army but that wasn't what she wanted. She wanted a cool action hero job... so she decided to aspire for a degree in Criminal Justice. So she ended up going to the University of South Florida and while there were a few hitches here and there (due to Meifeng's rampant partying) she was on her way to earning her degree.

However, when she went back home for Summer Break; that was when shit hit the fan. The mist rolled right as she was getting off the plane and that was when the massacre began. The monsters killed everyone in sight but Meifeng was one of the few that was fortunate enough to getaway. Armed with a baseball bat she went back to her home... only to find blood and not one sight of her mother or sister. Forced to flee her home, Meifeng made her way to a camp set up by the army where she ran into her distant friend Cindy Keagan, now a Staff Sergeant in the army.

She wondered what the hell they were going to do next... when the mist rolled in and the base was overrun. Cindy and Meifeng hauled ass in Cindy's car and so far they've been roaming the collapsed American society trying to find some type of safety.

Cooking ⫻ One of the only skills that Meifeng got from her early life was that she knows how to prepare some food from scratch. She can skin a chicken and other animals and cook it up asap. Of course, Meifeng knows how to make a mean grilled cheese.

Shooting ⫻ During their time roaming the American-Wasteland, her friend Cindy kinda taught her the basics of shooting. Though, Meifeng still can't shoot the broadside of a barn and Cindy has a hard time using any weapon that's not an M4A1.

Remington Shotgun ⫻ A shotgun that Meifeng carries around on her that she picked off some dead guy. Unfortunately, while fighting the monsters she used the last of the ammo and now she just uses it for intimidation in the event they run into humans.

Aluminium Baseball Bat ⫻ Meifeng's weapon of choice; an old, dented, baseball bat. It's bloodied from breaking some skulls open but Meifeng never lets it leave her side.

Switch-Blade ⫻ Something that Meifeng almost never uses as a weapon but it's merely a switchblade. It's what she uses whenever she needs to cut stuff, but the blade is getting dull.

A few years working with the army really allowed Cindy to really put her body in great shape. She still looks somewhat mousy behind the pair of glasses that she's always seen wearing. However, she carries herself like a diva and makes it her mission to appear her best. Wearing the best and stylish clothes (She can afford to buy with her army budget), making sure that every part of her body is very well maintained, and walking with grace. People get the feeling that she emanates vanity, but quite the opposite, really. She's actually a very open, and friendly, human being. Cindy simply has a cool and collected aura that doesn't let too much emotion slip. However, she can still show friendliness in the way of smiles, and a generally polite demeanor. Though, that can flip in the drop of a hat, if someone were to set her off.

As it's been stated before, Cindy's build has gone up a bit. She isn't super muscular, but she is very tight, and has a light layer of muscle from all the exercise she does. The last thing that Cindy wants to do is gain a million pounds, so that's why she does a lot of working out in her spare time. She jogs, lifts weights, and does all that jazz, which is why her layer of muscle is mostly around her leg area. Speaking of her legs, Cindy's legs are quite thick. You see, Cindy was fortunately blessed by puberty to have a distinct body shape. She has a pear-shaped body. Her upper body is fairly narrow, that aforementioned thin body, small bust (at 30d), and very narrow shoulders. However, her thighs, legs, and behind are very thick. Which are usually accentuated from her outfits? It's something that Cindy feels much pride in. All inherited from her father's side of the family, of course.

Speaking of Cindy's genealogy, one of Cindy's most notable features is how she quite racially ambiguous. She's mixed from two vastly different ethnicities. Cindy's father was a proud African-American man with roots from Kenya, Uganda, and Sierra Leone. Which gave him a variety of looks from several different African countries. Her mother, on the other hand, was Indian. Cindy, on the other hand, takes more from her father in terms of her looks - he says that he looks exactly like his mother! However, her awfully dark-brown skin tone, her afro-textured hair, and skull-shape are obviously African-American. Which makes it appear heavily like she's two different races... and nobody can really tell which one. Though, whenever Cindy opens her mouth, she has a very urban accent. Sprinkling her sentences with "yo," and "ya'll" and other dialogue that'd be inappropriate in a professional setting.

A very stylish woman, when she's not wearing OCPs. You can tell that the years she spent within Los Angeles has really given her a great fashion sense. She tends to wear very stylish clothes that are up to date on the latest urban trends. She'll wear just about anything long as it looks good, and makes her look fun. However, due to her time in Verthaven, her outfits tend to be very loose. Cindy will wear T-shirts, jeans, skirts, dresses, and whatnot. Though she tends to omit the skirts and dresses for jeans and has a shirt and a jacket of some sort another top of that. Other times, Cindy dresses a little bit like school-girl wearing dress shirts, and she's notable for wearing ties. Her style does not seem to be consistent as her wardrobe is seemingly endless. As for other kinds of clothing, Cindy is perfectly fine with wearing hats (She loves straw hats), jewelry (Along the line of necklaces, and bracelets), and things such as scarves.

PHILOSOPHY ⫻ Cindy believes in peace and staying out of people's way. She definitely doesn't like to raise a fuss no matter what happens, and even as a Sergeant in the army that hasn't changed. She's laid back, cool-headed, and always takes things slowly. Cindy actually legitimately cares about the people around her, and only wants to see them succeed. Due to a rather liberal upbringing, in which she could see many different places, meet a variety of people, and experience many different things, Cindy is very open-minded, free-thinking, and whatnot. She rejects conservative ideals in favor of a more progressive way of thinking. Which is why Cindy won't discriminate based on race, gender, and whatnot.

SECRETS ⫻ Cindy is, deep down quite sullen, fatigued, and wracked with sorrow. Losing friends and family, and almost dying several times has really left its mark on Cindy's mental state. She has generally gotten over the deaths of her family, but sometimes it still comes back to haunt her. She tries to bury her trauma with a happy face, but nothing truly works. Other than a bottle of alcohol, of course.

BACKSTORY

"Joining the army was the best decision of my life, but it might have been the only thing keeping me and Meifeng alive."

Now, Cindy was born as the result of an unwed couple getting a little too passionate with their love. Her mother was an Indian Immigrant named Asha Patel, who came to America with her family decades ago. She worked as a teacher for the local university and Jackson Keagan. A man who climbed out of the poverty that is the hoods of Los Angeles, and avoided the gang violence that is prevalent in the area. He followed his passions to the top and became a club owner - He had to take a second job, but he was otherwise happy. They met at a bar, after some particular flirting, they became a thing. Months later, and they became particularly intimate. After a few romances later, Cindy was conceived and introduced a conundrum for them. Asha's family didn't approve of their relation (And even less about Asha birthing a bastard), and they didn't exactly have enough money to support the child. They figured that they'd get married soon as possible, and try their best (Since neither of them wanted to give her up for adoption - nor did they want to abort her).

So, they got married soon as possible, and they moved into an apartment and they were happy. Cindy was born (Her parents got into a long back and worth as to what to name her, agreeing on Cindy), and did nothing but eat and shit as she grew bigger. There wasn't anything special about her upbringing, no dead parents, no dark and tragic past. As she grew up she developed social skills like no other and formed a huge social circle that involved lots of partying gossiping and rumors. However, Cindy's life was pretty uneventful - she met Meifeng. When she graduated high school; she decided against going to college since she wanted to leave that lifestyle behind. Instead, she wanted a different type of lifestyle - in the military of course. So she talked to her local recruiter, went to MEPS and eventually ended up in Fort Jackson for her basic training. Afterwards she went for her training as a 42A and eventually bounced around here and there.

Once she hit sergeant; she ended up becoming a recruiter (it was either that or a drill sergeant but recruiter paid more). Again she mostly did the same thing; bounced around from here to there lying to teenagers and everyone else she could to meet that quota. Then, the mist hit and shit hit the fan. Almost everyone was called up to fight the monsters, including Cindy. The army did a pretty good job holding them back at first but eventually, it turned out that there were more monsters than they had bullets. Many units were completely overrun by the beasts and soon the United States fell.

Cindy was in one of the last camps near Los Angeles and eventually, she ran into her best friend, Meifeng. When the mist rolled around she had no choice but to cut and run with Meifeng.

Soldier-Girl ⫻ Cindy has been with the army since she was eighteen and has picked up a ton of skills. She's a leader, she can shoot pretty well (though she only knows how to use an M4A1 carbine to tell you the truth), knows medical skills, and much more.

People-Person ⫻ Cindy definitely learned how to do this before becoming a recruiter. She knows how to talk to people, tell them what they want to hear, among other things.

Assault-Pack ⫻ Cindy grabbed one before she hauled ass out of the base that was getting overrun. An Assault-Pack is basically a glorified backpack but it's what she's been using to keep all of her items in. Such as her clothes and what little feminine hygiene items she has left.

SIG Sauer M17 ⫻ A pistol that Cindy grabbed off a dead guy during the attacks, she has a few clips left and has been using it conservatively. However, she doesn't know to use a pistol all that well.

Tactical Knife ⫻ Just a simple knife that she uses when she needs to cut stuff. She keeps it at her side at all times in case she needs to stab somebody or cut herself free from a monster.

Appearance ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ "You're a puppet on a string." Emily is a girl that seemingly took a complete one-eighty in terms of appearance and demeanor. She was never ugly, but before she usually had her hair tied into an unflattering bun, never wore makeup, had nerdy glasses, and usually dressed conservatively. Recently, after her pact with Babylon, she decided to try something a little different. She now lets her hair out into a long straight mane that goes all the way to her back, wears makeup, and dresses well for her figure. Along with ditching the glasses for contacts or better-looking glasses. One would say that she caterpillar to a butterfly. The girl has a confident aura with how she constantly walks with a smile on her face... but it's the kind of smile now that she's happy, that she's the best person here. That she knows something that everyone doesn't, and that betrays the nature of what would be a normally flirty smile into a dangerous one. Every time she speaks, she seems like she's speaking down to other people. Always in the same condescending tone and sometimes never makes eye contact with them (but she never seems to make eye contact with anyone). Even with authority, she's still dismissive as always. Into her appearance, Emily is part French-Canadia and part a bunch of other stuff. She seems to take primarily after European cultures in her face, but few know can tell. The girl has a square jaw and a very pronounced nose and most notably blue eyes. Her skin has a few scars but she tries her best not to get more and usually hides them under makeup. Emily is a bit taller than average at five-eight, she almost stands up there with the boys. She doesn't exactly have a supermodel body, being lazy and shitty genetics have caused her to pack on a bit of weight. She has a bit of a gut that sags and it definitely doesn't look all that flattering. However, Emily has been working to lose this weight and be a supermodel (it just ain't easy). MAIN GOAL ⫻ Emily G. Reed and Babylon have two completely different goals but they're helping each other. Emily G. Reed wishes to lift the curse that is on her sister - along with removing any Extra-Normal threats that are out there by force. Not out of altruism, she's just trying to protect herself and other people from them as she believes prevention is better than the cure. Babylon, on the other hand, has the long term goal of living up to her nature as an Apparition: plunging the multiverse into a chaotic mess of violence, hedonism, and sin. For various reasons (she claims that she's doing it because she pities the girl) she's helping Emily.

WHAT THEY WANT OUT OF THE COVEN ⫻ Emily wants to form a group of people with similar interests as her to help take out the malicious Apparitions and find somebody to break the curse on her little sister.

PHILOSOPHY ⫻ Truth to be, Emily doesn't give a shit about philosophy or anything of that mind. She usually says that it's a waste of time and she doesn't have one. However, Emily's actions and words, once analyzed, portray one: self-indulgence. All her life she was bending backward to make everyone around her happy at the cost of her own - and now she wants to make herself happy. Screw morality and other people, she just wants to get what she wants, however. She believes that she has to be heartless, ruthless, or people will step all over her.

SECRETS ⫻ Well, she doesn't go around announcing that she's affixed to a demon, that's for one.

SEXUALITY ⫻ Emily is straight, but Babylon is what Emily calls "Omnisexual". Babylon constantly urges Emily to be the same way for "power" but Emily just thinks that she wants her to be a "Slut-Ghost".

FEARS ⫻ Emily, ultimately, fears making the bad call. She suffers from some confidence and self-competence issues that prevent her from fully making the right choice. Which is why she usually relies on other people that she trusts to do it for her. Which ends up being Babylon a lot of the time (who fears nothing btw). The girl fears to be powerless in any situation and makes sure that she's constantly in control. She also has mild Scopophobia... she has a hard time looking someone in the eye before it starts feeling awkward.

REPUTATION ⫻ As for Babylon she's feared across the multiverse as being a terror and the most cunning and evil thing in the known universe. Some believe that she's the one that'll end all the worlds. And she's affixed to Emily G. Reed. A nobody in the grand scheme of things and is known for being spineless, though that's probably what Babylon is counting on.

FLAWS ⫻ Emily, again, has self-competence issues deep down. Even though she has made strides, she's better suited as the follower than the leader. She feels like she'll make the bad call and end up making a mistake that'll embarrass her. The girl is a hedonist and is ruthless in getting what she wants, and she has a habit of making enemies. She also has self-worth issues and tries hard as possible to seem like she's better than the people around her - by putting them down anyway necessary. The girl also hates feeling powerless and out of control and has mild control freak tendencies - she always has to be in control. Not mentioning the fact that she's affixed to Babylon, the being that probably has a huge amount of people that want to kill her.

Backstory of Babylon

The story of Babylon has been lost to time - or at least that's what Babylon says. She's an ancient Apparition from one of the many alternate universes out there and she gives usually one story. She claims Babylon originated in the 1600s in a town overcome with lust, violence, and monsters, and a Preacher's intense desire to find something to blame created an Apparition. This Apparition ended up spreading her belief and power to all corners of the Earth where she became so powerful that she was a threat to the universe as a whole. It came to an end when she was sealed in a different universe, but decided to cause trouble in order universes.

Since then, Babylon has existed for millions of years - in chronological time, as every universe ages differently - terrorizing reality where ever she can get her hands on. She was Affixed and Adjoined to many, many, different humans and was even an Agent to some and Abscised a few people. Her abstraction changed constantly so much that she forgot what her first abstraction was, but she kept a few core abilities. She has done so much that she honestly forgot and only seeks to reach the heights of powers that she had reached before through any means necessary. The Apparition was known as one of the League's greatest enemies and rolled with the illustrious Thorton Walters a few times... but on and off as she found him dull and their plans almost never intersected. Some believed that Babylon would, through her foolishness, end the multiverse.

However, that came to an end when Babylon was tricked into entering Shimmer where she lied dormant as there was no Godforce there. Babylon slept for ages before she ended up returning as the Glutton was defeated. The only problem was that the belief in her was gone and she was rapidly fading. So out of desperation, she affixed herself to a child and that only lasted as long as she found a better host...

... Emily G. Reed.

Now Emily didn't have a special type of upbringing. She had two parents (Amber and Austin Reed) and two sisters (Miranda and Jacqueline Reed), went to school, had friends, and didn't suffer any tragic backstory! Though some stuff kinda sucked - there was always something... off about Emily. She didn't socialize with people that well and was relatively reclusive, but she was always trying her best to make friends. She thought that maybe if she's nice they'd like her better and eventually tried taking that to it's extreme. Throughout the years she did favors for everyone and always shared and put other people before herself. However, this ended very poorly for Emily; people simply took advantage of her kindness, but she had a hard just wrapping her head around it. She made a lot of mistakes and the people she thought were her friends peered looked down on her and insulted her because of it. So for years people just treated Emily like trash and she just took it. Mainly because she wasn't all that confrontational or always made some type of excuse in her head to avoid confronting them. It was to the point where some people would have to stick up for her. Still, she had a few friends that saw her as a person, so that counted for something, right? Let's ignore all the pent up rage and frustrations that began to grow in Emily.

The only solace that Emily had was in her family, the rest of the Reeds. She had a close bond with her two younger sisters, even though they kinda had their moments of rage. They were more proactive and confident in themselves than their older sister and they had plenty of fun (which, in Florida, isn't that hard to find). Emily was very protective of her sisters and did everything she could for them and they, in turn, did the same. She wanted to succeed, for them.

Emily graduated high school and went off to the University of South Florida in Tampa - not too far away from home. It was where Emily studied Psychology, and minored in Propaganda and got her first boyfriend: Rip Vanburen! He was so dashing, nice and appreciated her! She also kept in touch with her sisters, but that changed. And in her spare time, she got a glorious job in a grocery store as a cashier. This is where things started getting a little bad on Emily. Her bosses weren't exactly the best business runners out there and legitimately didn't care about Emily. Despite wanting shifts at night or whenever she didn't have classes they just gave her shifts whenever and extra hours. She tried to put her foot down but she didn't have the strength to resist it.

This caused her grades to drop as she tried her hardest to maintain her social life. Even though all of this was taking a toll on Emily, and it got worse when it turned out that her boyfriend was sleeping with another girl. Emily was betrayed and fell into a spiral of depression... one that she didn't care enough to stop and rest. She stayed with her boyfriend Rip even though he was cheating on her and she stopped talking with all of her friends and sisters. Though, everything changed one night when Emily decided to try something - anything to get out of this slump. She confronted the girl that her boyfriend was sleeping with Magnolia Rose, and it ended in a fight between the two that Emily lost. Horribly.

Waking up in a ditch without her wallet, Emily went home and barely felt like getting out of bed. After getting bugged by her bosses to come into work (when she told them she had class) she managed to force herself out of bed and took the bus ride there. However, that was when things changed.

That's when she met her.

Babylon, she called herself, was affixed to an infant and saw how Emily was doing and decided to help her out of pity. At first, Emily thought that she had finally gone mad and tried to ignore the Apparition that she was affixed to but Babylon kept at it. When she went to work, Babylon kept tempting her to stand up for herself and was ignored. This kept going for months until Babylon decided to resort to more drastic measures to get Emily on her side. When Rip and Emily went out on a date, eventually the subject of his cheating came up. Rip honestly didn't care and was dismissive of it all... until Emily snapped and punched him across the face. He laughed it off as Emily kept hitting him more and more... He got scared for his life as her strikes were inflicting serious damage and he was screaming for his life. She got a look at her hands and realized that they were claws and she realized that she transformed into a monster without realizing it.

And Babylon laughed. The two escaped from the scene as Emily was reverted into a human and she was horrified at her actions. However, she felt some kind of enjoyment out of punishing Rip for his actions - as fucked up as it sounded. She finally felt something that she needed to feel: power - and that was everything Babylon needed to hear. She told Emily that, through her power, she can make everything perfect. Emily was reluctant but was willing to give it a try - anything to get out of this depressive slump.

If nothing else, she wanted to make her bosses pay for their actions of taking advantage of her, treating her like meat... so she had Babylon treat them like meat. Babylon cast a spell on the two of them and forced them to make love to each other in the office. All under camera... to say the least, the authorities were called and there was a vacant seat. One that Emily herself was reluctant to occupy, but someone else took it and with a little threatening, she got everything that she wanted. Then she found that bitch Magnolia... and apologized to the girl for her past actions and told her that she can have Rip all to herself. Meanwhile, she got the hours and shifts she needed to complete her classes without bending backward.

And so, in less than a week Emily was happy again, however, she felt like this wasn't what she wanted. She felt a twinge of boredom with her life now, sitting around in classrooms and working in a shitty grocery store. When there were magic and adventure out there, but truly Emily finally understood the power that Babylon boasted about. She wanted to do more with it than sit on her ass but didn't know what. After years of putting up with everyone's bullshit and trying to please them, she decided that it was time to find her happiness.

Especially with Babylon around. The Apparition planned to plunge the world into violence, hedonism, and wanton lust - and Emily wasn't exactly sold on helping end the world. And Babylon understood but knew the two would find a common language. The two were alike in ways that Emily, at the time, didn't understand - and Babylon had some sort of affection for the girl. Emily tried to live her life in some semblance of normality but Babylon warned her, regardless of what happened: she was a flame that attracts the moths. Other Extra-Normal beings would come after her and eventually come in contact with them and have to face them.

Things were fine for a year. She graduated with her major and... ended up with a job as a secretary for Paragon Labs. And she eventually went back home as she tried to decide where she was going to go next. However, everything changed one night when her sister, Miranda, frantically woke her up - telling her to go help, Jacqueline. There was an Apparition attached to her that was sucking the life out of her... and Babylon couldn't help but chuckle as Emily got heated. A fight ensued between the two which ended with Emily driving off the Apparition... however, Jacqueline was afflicted with a curse that was slowly killing her. Babylon finally explained why she was laughing: Emily was, like she said, the flame and the apparitions and other beings were the moths.

At this point, Emily was about to cast Babylon out, but the Apparition explained that she was the only thing helping her... which she asserts is out of pity. She told her of all the ways that she could break the curse, primarily finding the Apparition. Which Emily set out to do, along with a different goal... she realized that there are threats out there to herself and her family that she can't ignore. This is why, to prevent things like this from happening again, Emily set out to destroy all the Apparitions and other Extra-Normal beings she deems to be a threat. Every night she set out and moonlighted as a "demon hunter", ruthlessly hunting them down and sealing them into objects.

Eventually, Emily set out to find other, friendly, Extra-Normals so they can figure something out. And that group of other Extra-Normals became the Coven. Emily was one of the founding members of the group, discovering them on Reddit and even lead the group for a while. Of course, that didn't end well.

TYPE ⫻ Awakened.

ABSTRACTION ⫻ Telekinetic-Tether, the ability to create glowing telekinetic threads from her fingertips that can control a person's body or manipulate objects.

ABSTRACTION DESCRIPTION ⫻ Rooted in her desire to control people (Namely the rowdy Coven), Emily gained the power to do just that. From her fingertips, Emily can create thin green glowing threads that she can stretch around six meters. These strings more or less give Emily access to a telekinetic ability... except, unlike true telekinetics, she has a few other abilities that make her stand out. To get into the nitty-gritty, Emily can create these strings and mentally influence their direction and make them do whatever she wants them to. She can curl them, twist them, and do advanced techniques like making a little knot (... despite how pointless that would be).

Emily can create ten tethers, one for each finger. However, she can attach these tethers to objects and people and more or less gain a telekinetic control over them. Most notably, she can attach them to people to completely control their motor functions. However, she needs to attach at least five (One to each limb and their head) to a person to control their movement. And she does this by flexing her fingers and their body moves in response. She can freely control them in this radius and pretty much makes them do whatever they want. Emily can fully control two people at the same time, but she can affect ten different at most (She won't be able to do a whole lot). Just in case you were wondering: yes, they are conscious the whole time and aware that they're trapped in their own body. It doesn't work too well on Extra-Normals, however - And by that, I mean at all.

The other thing that the tethers can control are objects when attached. When she attaches her tethers to objects she can do the traditional telekinetic stuff to them, pull, twist, push, bend, etc, etc. Each tether can lift to fifty pounds, and by attaching her tethers to the same objects can allow her to lift heavier objects (at the cost of being able to lift fewer objects) to a total of five hundred pounds. There's a little thing that Emily can do with the tethers is by attaching them to objects she can move herself. This is strictly limited to pushing and pulling herself in relation to the object.

The final thing that the tethers can do is slice as if they are piano wire. They are sharp as a razor blade and are thus, only capable of cutting the objects those would cut. She has a few methods of doing this; by touching stuff with the tethers and withdrawing them slicing flesh, wrapping them around a limb and quickly squeezing, or whipping someone with it. Emily can only cut through soft materials and attempting it on something harder would only, at most, leave a scratch.

AURA SENSING ⫻ Emily's aura sensing is somewhat unique as far as seeing auras go. Emily can see the threading between people, as in their relationships. It technically works as far as the eye can see but it works best up close where she can focus. If two people have an interpersonal connection then she can see it, and more importantly how strong it is - that manifests in how thick the thread is. Loose acquaintances would be a thin, nearly impossible to see, string. New friends would be a more visible wire, and things like close friends/lovers and family would be a thick strand. More importantly of all, Emily can see if there's tension or strain because the thread would be damaged or missing pieces if so.

LIMITS ⫻ Now to repeat what's already been said: the Extra-Normal are immune to her ability. Primarily the body control, but she can slice through them just a little less effectively. The max range of her ability is around nineteen feet and she just can't affect anyone that's outside that range. If she manipulates something and its max range, guess what? She's going with it. Emily can exert her influence on ten different people at a time, but she would only be able to use her abstraction on one limb. She can best control two people at a time. Each strand has a weight limit of fifty pounds, but by attaching more strands to the same object she can lift more... up to all ten strands and thus can max at five-hundred pounds. The ability is, of course, linked to her stamina and thus can thus drain her by overexertion.

WEAKNESSES ⫻ Emily herself can be manipulated by the strands if they're pulled. If someone grabs them and yanks them, they can pull Emily with them. It's especially easy if the strands are at maximum range. What's else is that the strands can be cut with so much as a slash from a knife (but Extra-Normal attacks cut through them much easier). They can also easily be destroyed by elemental attacks such as fire and electricity... fortunately, they can't be destroyed by brute force.

TYPE ⫻ Aberration (Affixed)

ABSTRACTION ⫻ Execration, Babylon can create curses and cast them out as spells to affect Emily, the environment and other people.

ABSTRACTION DESCRIPTION ⫻ Babylon is an ancient Apparition that has existed in many universes and in many different forms. She was the embodiment of all the evils in the world and that reflects in her abilities. Particularly, her abstraction has shifted so many times that she can hardly remember what her even the first one was (or she just doesn't tell because it's not important). Her current abstraction reflects a phase she spent as a sorceress after abscising someone. She has access to many different "Curses" that she can fire from her hands. Each of these curses in the physical form takes the appearance of Babylon's sigil and depending on the curse glows a different color. They can travel fairly fast through the environment and once they make contact with an object or person the will be cursed (or afflicted) and the sigil will float above it. Depending on what it hits will change the properties of the curse (Curses that hit the environment are an area of effect ability, while curses that hit a person tend to affect that person, and each of the curses gives Emily a different ability).

The Curses

The Curse of Unending Flame ⫻ The curse Babylon casts out will have a bright red aura around it, almost like a fire. The Curse of Unending Flame is, like the name implies, a fire curse. When the spell connects to a person they'll instantly burst into flames and will constantly burn as long as the curse persists - possibly burn to death as the flames seemingly won't end unless extinguished or the target is killed. If the curse is connected to the environment it'll cause glowing cracks in the ground, which will shoot jets of intense flames for a few moments before they disappear. Applying the Curse of Unending Flame to G. Reed, however, affects similar to a heat-proof shield. She'll be completely immune to fire but she'll have a certain effect on fire and objects. Objects that burn real easily like dead leaves, clothes, etc and flammable liquids, will combust in her presence after a certain amount of time - they'll instantly catch if she touches it with her hands. The other effect of applying the curse to herself is that fires burn much hotter and are much more volatile around her - along with being a lot harder to put out. This ability naturally synergizes with other pyrokinetic along with applying the curse onto the environment.

The Curse of Horrid Form ⫻ This curse has a yellow glow around it. It's a curse that Babylon's is (in)famous for and probably the one abstraction that she started with. The Curse of Horrid Form has a few particular effects that make it easily the most dangerous curse in the right hands. If a person is struck by the curse; they'll become an Afflicted and become half-animal. Whatever animal they become is symbolic to their personality (a scared person may become a mouse, an angry one a bull, etc, etc). Usually, these horrid beings get the strengths and weaknesses of said animal. However, the curse causes them to be cast out of society as a freak as they'll be desperate to break it (the only way to break it is for Babylon to break it). Casting the curse on the environment will cause an explosion of energy that'll trigger a mass transformation - albeit at a much slower rate.

Applying the curse of Horrid Form to Emily, however, causes her to transform into a wolf-woman. Her mass will increase (to the point where she adds on a few inches), her teeth will grow sharp, her digits will end with claws, and she'll be covered in silver fur. In this form, she's faster, stronger, tougher, and her sense of smell is on par with a wolf.

The Curse of Lust and Hedonism ⫻ The curse of Lust takes a pink glow around the sigil. The curse of lust is probably the most malicious of the curses in Babylon's opinion as it overwrites free will. If the curse is cast on a person, the only thing on their mind will be pure and unbridled lust. They're going to try to bone the closest person in sight and if they say no they'll try the next one until they say yes. They'll keep having sex until they either die or Babylon breaks the curse (though she finds it amusing to watch someone fuck themselves to death). If the curse is cast onto the environment it'll cause an explosion similar to the Curse of Horrid Form and whoever is hit by it will be compelled to have sex with the other people who have been hit (if only one person has been affected then the curse will instantly break).

If the Curse is applied to Emily, it gives her a different ability: shapeshifting and persuasion. It, first and foremost, alters her appearance depending on the person she's targeting. Shifting her appearance into their ideal person, and afterward, she'll find herself to be very hard to resist. Just by being in her presence will make them gradually more and more aroused as their lips will do anything to get her to take her clothes off.

The Plague of Flies ⫻ Curse of flies makes the sigil glow with a turquoise aura. The Plague of flies is the one curse that Babylon says can end lower technological civilizations. Once the curse is cast, an absolute horde of flies will appear and swarm whatever. If it's cast on a person, then they'll be swarmed with the flies as they'll be assaulted by the deadly swarm. They'll try to force their way inside of their target's orifices and eventually suffocate them if the curse isn't lifted. The Curse of Flies, when casting onto an environment, creates a massive swarm of flies so thick that it can't be seen through. The flies won't target or damage anyone for that matter, but they'll obscure the environment enough so that Emily can escape. The Curse of Flies, however, when applied to Emily seemingly has a detrimental effect: the flies will swarm her from head to toe. However, the flies will act as a symbiotic organism that'll clean her body off dirt, clean out her wounds, clog wounds with maggots to slow down bleeding, and if she needs to get away they'll form a cloak for her to get away.

The Penance of Greed ⫻ The Curse of Greed makes the sigil glow with an orange color. The curse of Penance of Greed is stated, by Babylon, to be as fun as the Curse of Lust and Hedonism. Applying the curse to somebody makes them overcome with intense greed and changes their goal to gather as much wealth as possible. Whether its money or other items that they believe has value. They'll steal, cheat and kill to gather the wealth, but the curse comes with a stipulation: the more wealth they gather the more they'll turn into gold. It's to the point where if the curse isn't broken they'll turn into a golden statue forever (even after the curse is broken). When Babylon casts the curse on the environment it'll create an explosion that'll curse anyone caught in its radius - but the effect won't be as powerful as cursing one person. Applying the curse to Emily, however, turns her into a moving gold statue that's shiny, durable as gold, and much stronger.

As for Babylon herself: Babylon isn't particularly strong but has the strength of a grown man. She can also float around and stuff due to the whole Apparition thing, but can't travel that far away from Emily.

LIMITS ⫻ Now, you might be thinking that Babylon is the most overpowered apparition in the world. And you'd be right... if the RP was more about normies. You see, due to the Extra-Normal's resistance to each other's abilities they won't be all that effective against them. They're not completely immune to them, but certain people who are aware of the curses can resist them. Just to get out of the way, the Plague of Flies, The Curse of Lust and Hedonism, The Penance of Greed and the Curse of Horrid Form can be resisted (unless they actually want the curse). If an Extra-Normal being is cursed, it'll usually wear off after a set amount of time. The Curse of Unending Flame can be directly used against the Extra-Normal but it'll wear off in a few moments and the flames will disappear and the fire won't indirectly cause a lot of damage. Babylon can also only utilize one curse at a time if she wants to use another one she has to lift all the curses that are currently being used. The Curses can be cast as far as the eye can see but go fast enough that even the most unfit person can dodge them. Of course, Babylon is an apparition with free will that's only attached to Emily. She doesn't directly control her and Babylon and her, at times, have very different goals. So that sucks given that Emily wants to control. Babylon can only travel about four meters away from Emily.

WEAKNESSES ⫻ Each curse has a way to break or a drawback. When the curses are applied to a person or place, Babylon's sigil will float above it - only visible to the Extra-Normal. The Sigil can be physically attacked and damaged by the Extra-Normal and destroying the sigil will break the curse. The Curse of Unending Flame is countered by - you guessed it - water. Throwing water on the cursed will instantly break the curse and the curse is also countered by everything else that would naturally snuff out the fire. Also, Emily isn't immune to stuff like smoke or fire itself if she doesn't have the curse cast on her. Speaking of casting the curse on Emily, the fire has the habit of destroying her clothes so she doesn't like using it. It's very destructive and unwieldy and tends to injure G. Reed herself, so it requires caution. The Curse of Horrid Form isn't practical to use at times as there's no way for Babylon to control the transformation, so just using it for the fuck of it will create a half-human mountain of rage right on top of her, or gunning for her later. Applying the curse of Horrid Form to Reed will cause a painful and lengthy transformation that can leave her vulnerable to damage. And it's painful both ways. The Curse of Lust and Hedonism will wear off if the person doesn't have any sexual contact in a short amount of time (about a few minutes). The Plague of flies can be dangerous for Babylon as killing a bunch of flies somehow can cause her physical damage. Finally, applying the Penance of Greed to Emily makes her incredibly slow and in agile because gold is heavy material and one good electric shock will knock her out. Babylon also isn't that good of an up-close fighter, as she's frail and very weak physically on the standards of Extra-Normal. If you can get close, you can take her out without the use of an abstraction.

There's also the fact that Emily is attached to, more or less, a demon and the social stigma that'll come from it even from other Extra-Normals.

you really gave me some ideas to expand/flesh out her character and I might as well do it since I have all this extra time.

When we saw a mention of Katie’s break up earlier, I really expected this to be a crazy ex, something awful but this more or less actually paints Katie in a bad light, and not the other way around. This is cool actually, if intentional. It shows that she has an unreliable narrators view of what had actually happened and it sort of subverted my expectations.

It was intentional mostly because I like a little splash of unreliable narrator and the fact that I like my characters being flawed, morally grey, people.
