Honestly you scare me the most with that eight foot post size. Hahaha, just a passer by and lover of what ever lore I can consume, I may attempt to join if I get a gist of what's going on. Though I need sleep so maybe I'll see what's up on the morrow.

All of the magics need to be applied to a video game to end all video games really. Although so far I have taken a liking to the clima, inward control.

Currently I'm the aeromancer expert though I still need to make that adjustment about sound in it. As for what is going on, a perk of Blood Act is you don't need to actually know the full story with the college or the history because your student would most likely be ignorant of most of it, but merely a few odd rumors. The only massive rumor is that the College has had a demon attack that tried to destroy everyone at the Opening Feast last year and so people are wary, yet still don't know for sure if the rumor's causes are legit. Some say a master Demonomancer ended up losing control and went berserk, others say that someone was pissed and was out for revenge, and another says a Inferno portal was ripped open by a powerful Archdemon resulting in the chaos. Either way, the damage is done and people are starting to doubt the College's ability to keep itself, let alone everyone, safe.

Lucius might be able reveal if the Baronness at the Feast made anymore rumors about anything that happened between her and Ovak during the timeskip.

When your pc arrives, he or she will likely only be affect by the current events which are Lyn's Hunt and the Catacombs. There's a short summary of each up in the OP but in recent posts, but something unexpected has happened.

In the Catacombs: The catacombs are infested with Ridge Hounds and several Naga, half snake and human, have appeared. They are getting wiped out by the pure number, including a recently turned Malice Naga (think super living zombie with the inability to crush bone should she wrap about you) who's attacked Lyamis. Each of the named Naga, Lyamis and Amaryllis are key players in Mar's and Lyn's future as well as the Naga. In addition, one of Chessy's minions, a vitamancer, has been stalking Tyrael and Ssarak who broke off from the group and currently being mauled by Ridge Hounds.

Lyn's Hunt: Lyn's the College's kid, since being born there (long story) and her accelerated growth rate has made it where she might be about 1 year old but has the body, mentality, and emotional state of a 14 year old. Currently she was going through the Naga rite which made her a hunter, but some monsters who had other plans showed up and started to harass everyone. Some groups, which the students were divided into, are having issues while others are able to escape their entanglements. Chessy's pawns have moved into position and started to intrude into Lyn's big day resulting in Mar getting stabbed by a magical dagger by Ellys then warped by Athalus to the college through the Nox, Keri being attacked by a Mad Man, Slade vanishing toward the college, and two others are heading to kill Lyn.

That's the gist... pretty much.

If we take it from FacePunch's post that the riots he mention are the riots that were caused by the Cowl (I don't know what other riots he would be mentioning), then we are on the same page.

Remember back when the riots were happening and people decided to do that 2-day time skip (and where we basically had two timelines, those still at the riots and those who did the 2-day time skip). When everyone got back onto the same timeline (the 2-day time skip after the riots), Icon, Thunderbolt, and Boom took on Umbraxis. In this post by NMS, he established that a few days had past since the confrontation with Umbraxis. Therefore, the assassination attempt should not be more than a week old, assuming that the riots that FacePunch mentioned in his reply is the riots caused by the Cowl.

Well, technically, Tearstone, Hero and I are still on that timeline. With any luck, we can easily move past it tomorrow and into the present since the trip at the CDC will take a while. I assume at least a week at most to make sure Rach isn't contagious or worse. Which, I'll contact @Nitemare Shape when we get to that point. It should open up a nice post for a visit in the CDC quarantine room or whatever.

If you are talking about the riots caused by the Cowl, that would have been about less than a week, give or take from the current time in the IC. I think one of the Icon posts establishes that.

The current timeline confuses the hell outta me. Though I doubt there would be much to go on; the assassins didn't make it very far. Polemos kind of murdered all of them in the lobby before they achieved anything.
