We should collab. It's mostly just Hibiki wanting to give Endian a pep talk anyways.

Alright then. I'll go set up a pad then so we can hammer it out.
Coincidentally @Ryonara, any opinion on how we should handle the convo with Endian now that the battle has started? We could do a collab and finish it up in one fell swoop, or just make a separate section in our posts to handle it.
The message rippled through the Unity in a wave. Diminished though it was, the network that linked the minds of (most) of the Advent still functioned as it should, and now it served to send a distress call, a warning that one of the many far flung colonies of the Advent itself was under attack by hostile forces. almost immediately ships had gone on the move, military forces shifting to deal with the attack.

One of those ships was the Vorascant, flying through space at the head of a small fleet of ships. They were some distance away, but the presence of a nearby wormhole meant that they could significantly cut down on the travel time. It would be nice if they had a more dedicated combat force, but they would have to jump in and hold the line to make sure that the combat forces had time to arrive in the first place.

Aboard the bridge of the ship Carina frowned slightly as she took in the message and sent off a quick response. "We hear the Unity's call. We shall respond as rapidly as we can," she reassured those who were under attack before turning to those who served with her on the bridge. "Alera, show us the path."

The woman with white eyes nodded before facing towards the front of the ship, outstretching an arm as she let the PsiTech that was utilized by the Unity go to work. Her mind swelled, psychic abilities clearing the path ahead, showing them the route that they would have to take to reach their destination.

"Course laid in," she announced at last, lowering her arm as she kept her gaze forward. "We are ready to proceed at any time."

Carina nodded as she took in status reports from across the ship, everything functioning normally and prepared for the fight ahead of them. It would not be easy, but she was confident that they could succeed. "Proceed." That said, she turned to the other woman seated on the bridge. "Lorana, make sure all stations are ready for combat action. The enemy may have a blocking force at the other side of the wormhole."

"Already done," Lorana reassured her from her own seat, the Psintegrate always ready for a battle. "But I don't think there will be a problem. I just hope we get there in time."

"We will," Carina reassured her with a nod and a burst of calm emotion. "The bombardment of the planet has yet to begin, and the population have been moved into shelters. These fools will know what it means to strike at the Advent."

In a burst of light the Vorascant vanished into the wormhole ahead of its escorts, ready to take the fight to all of their foes.

When they emerged on the other side, it was to a strange scene. Most of the time such wormholes were within a star system, but this one was in a black void, the only light from far off galaxies that were out of reach. He ship itself seemed to shine, catching that minimal light and reflecting it, practically glowing as the elegant design cut through space like a wave.

But none aboard needed to see the space they were in, the sudden power fluctuations and threat of antimatter core overload to know that something had gone wrong. No, there was a much easier way.

"I...I can't hear them," Lorana said with a tremble in her tone, eyes wide. Even Carina could tell as much, the sudden deafening silence where once the multitude of voices that comprised the Unity could be. There were still those on the ship, of course, but it paled in comparison to the sounds of an interplanetary civilization.

Carina could feel, hear the panic spreading through the ship. Indeed she was feeling it herself, a worry as to what had happened to their people. "Remain calm," she said in a firm tone, letting that message go out to the entire ship. As the Coalescent, she couldn't allow the Unity to fall into, well, disarray. Once she was sure the crew were listening to her, she looked to Alera. "Where are we?"

Alera frowned as she expanded her view once again, confusion growing at the same time. "We are...nowhere. There are other vessels nearby but I can't identify any of them. Some of them are beyond primitive in fact. As for our location, it appears that we are in the space between galaxies, if my eyes do not deceive me."

It was bad, but something they could work with nonetheless. Carina quickly activated the communications unit to attempt contact, and quickly managed to get a multitude of messages from the various ships floating nearby, none of which seemed to broadcast their identity as the Coalition. It appeared that they were indeed unknowns, as Alera had suggested. In the meanwhile, commands were given out to begin repairs, before their situation degraded any further. No one needed a reminder what uncontained antimatter could do.

While the crew remained at a ready position and initiated repairs, she turned to the radio herself, communicating much as she would with the Coalition or the Vasari, without intruding upon their minds. "Greetings unknown vessels. We are the Advent, and we come with no ill intentions towards those who mean us none in return. To those who do, know that we will not hesitate in defending ourselves as we deem fit."

That said, she looked to Alera. "Scry what you can of the other vessels here. Should we come to blows, we will need every advantage we can get." It seemed things would be interesting, and less hopeless, than Carina had previously believed.

: No, no! In Soviet Russia, Union join you!

I believe that was what I was requesting, so thank you and welcome to the Unity. :V
"Hmm, that's a lot simpler than I was expecting," Alex admitted as Linea explained what she thought that they had to do. It wouldn't be simple, but it was something that they could manage easily enough. He supposed that his time breaking into places had made him used to more complicated traps, too paranoid to see a simple one at face value.

Glancing back, he noticed with a frown that Tori wasn't there after all. She must have ducked down a side passage or something, and if he were to be honest Alex didn't feel that bad for her. She shouldn't expect him to, after how she had treated him this entire trip. "She's smart, I'm sure she'll be fine," he reassured the twins before getting back to the business of memorizing.

When it came down to it though it was fairly easy to cross, only made difficult by the speed at which the tiles were moving. His Tome helped with that though, and soon enough the three of them were across and in the new portal. At last they didn't have to bake in that overwhelming heat anymore.

Deposited beyond, Alex twisted a bit as he found himself floating in space, with a nebula beyond and some sort of altar. If he didn't miss his guess, this must have been the center of the temple, even if he still wondered how someone was supposed to get in here normally. But he didn't ask that as he noticed the strange girl, about to speak only to be spoken to instead, in words that wee not exactly comforting by any stretch of the imagination.

The rumbling that shook through his bones didn't help, causing his teeth to click together as he considered what had been said. So this girl was looking for some sort of authorization then? That could be bad, or it could be good. Certainly the twins seemed to feel the same way, as they looked to him for direction.

"Well, we can't just walk away after coming this far," he noted aloud. "The code has to be something connected to the people who built this temple, right? Some sort of phrase, saying, name, that sort of thing." He thought on it for a moment before letting himself drift forward, speaking up so the girl could hear him. "Ad astra per Aspera." well, here went nothing.

I'm not joining a bunch of space wizards/Jedi/elves/hobos/whatever.

Come on now, that's not fair. Can the Jedi make a warship that runs on psychic powers? I think not. :V
Y'all should join the Advent. We can give you cool psychic powers.
Arriving in the throne room of High queen Eos, Endian was undisturbed by the cold that surrounded them. Even if she were not made for this sort of thing, it was only fair after what had happened aboard the Elicitor. Though some might wonder whether Eos deliberately kept it this cold, in order to discomfort visitors and establish herself in a superior position as the conversation went on.

Whether or not it was the truth, she was also pleasantly surprised to find herself joined by Mu-01, another of Krieg's avatars, as well as the two maids who had been partially responsible for their only success in this fight. Not that a single prisoner compared to the prize that they had lost, but it was at least a bright spot over what had been a disaster otherwise.

Endian stood at attention as Eos began to speak, acknowledging the loss and surprised to not find her receiving at least some chastisement for her failure to hold on to the Treasure that they had lost. She understood that they needed to focus on the future, of course, but given how important the mission had been portrayed she would have expected at least a bit of reprisal by Eos, verbal or otherwise. It wasn't like it would be unwarranted.

Instead, they were prepared for their next assignment. She had a new command ship, for what it would be worth, while Grafdakka was given a new battle frame and the same was done for their other companions, since it seemed that this battle would be underwater. A difficult task, but one that the Machina could deal with when it came down to it. It was hardly the most hostile environment there could have been for a battle.

As they talked, she was already accessing the data that the Machina had on the ruins, quickly running through to make sure that she was as informed as she possibly could be. "No. Thank you High Queen." With that she would bow before turning to leave the room so she could plan for the upcoming offensive. She was determined to make sure that this would not end as the last battle had.

With a flutter of her wings, Tartys arrived at the angelic camp for the next battle that was to begin. She had been less than amazing during the battle over the Elicitor, not majorly screwing up but also not distinguishing herself either. Along with the rest of those that she had fought with she had been brought here, to assist in securing the ruins.

Admittedly, she wasn't totally looking forward to this fight. It was just the whole 'underwater' part. Not that she couldn't go underwater, mind, it was just that she felt so slow when beneath the water, and she was fairly confident that it made her less effective of a fighter as a result.

But she couldn't worry about that, not when she had a task to do. So she moved through the camp until she found those who were preparing the battle. 'Pardon my interruption," she said with a bow. "I was sent here to assist with the upcoming battle." She didn't know what they had in mind, but whatever it was she would do what needed to be done to win.

Ba'al expressed no confusion as people misinterpreted what he said to their own whims, especially when it related to the Goa'uld aspirations in outer space. While he would, in time, like to claim the rest of the solar system, there had been no actual attempt to do so. But that was alright by him if that was what they expected from him. The more they dismissed him, the worse it would be for them when the time came to strike.

So he was not surprised as the Imperium objected, indicating that they would talk about space later and offering him all of Asia. Which was impressive, especially for the regard they seemed to hold him in. "I will consider it," he replied before the Imperium turned to talking with the remnants of the Alliance about their border. He was merely surprised that his original land claims were backed by the Outliners, though he was sure that they had an ulterior motive in doing so. They didn't act from the kindness of their hearts after all.

to the Alliance demands he and his wife could only snort in derision, along with some of the other factions present. "Please, i would never agree to such ridiculous demands without some incentive to do so," Ba'al noted aloud. Access to their technology would be nice, but not if it came at the expense of handing over his own. The only demand acceptable was the restaurant one, as...eccentric as it was.

He shifted to look at the Outliners as they proposed their suggestion that space exploration be limited, and resolved to ignore it. It was obvious that they wanted to keep a monopoly in orbit for themselves, and that was something he could not tolerate. Indeed, he was already working on that particular problem. It was just a matter of time.

He was prepared for the negotiations to go on until....

An eyebrow rose in curious amusement as the storm formed within eyesight range, turning into some sort of twister before a portal ripped through the center to disgorge a massive ship above. It was impressive, sure, though Qetesh snorted with derision as she looked upon it. It could not match up to the Goa'uld, no matter how big it was. But it did distract from everything else, up until the new delegates arrived and the meeting began to fall apart.

"Well then, this was a waste of our time after all. I apologize for doubting you Qetesh," Ba'al said with a sigh as the delegates prepared to break out into armed violence right here. Not that it would be a problem for him, with access to teleportation. In the meanwhile the press of a button would send a signal out, and from the Goa'uld's territory two Ha'tak vessels would set course for the newly arrived Temple Ship, to meet one show of force with another. And in the meanwhile, he waited to see how things would go.

Across the world in Alliance territory, a dark haired girl sighed as she sat at the counter of a restaurant. Her hand brushed against her MP3 player as she waited for her order to arrive, wearing a smile on her face and dressed in her usual garb of a t shirt and a skirt.

It had been some time since Saten Ruiko had found herself here, some time since she had made contact with the strange people that now dominated this world of Arcadia. Initially encountering the Dark Outliners, she was then recruited by Nova and the Imperium, the God-Emperor giving her access to her Esper powers without the need for the Level Upper program that she had resorted to in the past. Since then she had helped out, fought when she had to, and had tried to rebuild her life here.

It was...weird, having access to her powers now. She had learned to do so much more than she could have thought possible, and her only regret that Uiharu hadn't been here to see it. Together the two of them could have had a great time, and she could have shown her friend that she was more than the accusations hurled at her, that power wasn't the only thing she cared about. But it was too late now.

At last her food arrived, and a hum of satisfaction escaped as she looked on the cheeseburger, fries, and drink. "Welp, time to eat," Saten said to herself before she dug in. Just another day in the life, for now.
Ship Name:

Vorascant

Universe Background:

Once upon a time there was a group known as the Trade Order. Formed after the great wars and encompassing most of known space, the formation of the Order heralded a millennia of peace and prosperity. Yet in that beginning they sowed the seeds of their own destruction. Messengers were sent to all known worlds, to have them join the Order itself. One of those planets was a desert world orbiting a red star. There they found a thriving civilization known as the Advent.

The Advent initially rebuffed the request to join the Trade Order, and in turn the emissaries decided to send a team to research the Advent. What they leaned horrified them. Cerebral Integration Technologies, unrestricted biological experimentation, strange forms of collectivism, and the wholesale usage of countless neurochemicals, practices that were taboo to the Trade Order, and when they found out the Order voted overwhelmingly, seized control of the local area, and expelled the advent from Order space.

Driven into exile, a scar was created on the advent psyche. They devoted all their efforts to a quest for revenge, developing their technology to new heights and using all their resources to create an armada. Then when the time was right they struck, hitting the newly formed Trader Emergency Coalition's flank and beginning a bloody thirty year war that would see no peace, but rather the crumbling of loyalty within the Advent itself, as some wondered whether the Unity itself was corrupt as a result of this drive for revenge.

Crew Complement:

As a Mothership type vessel, the Vorascant has a compliment of 3,800 people, many of whom are to be used for colonization efforts on worlds that have been inducted into the Advent. The members of the Advent are human, but can have varying amounts of artificial implants to augment their psionic abilities.

Ship Description:

The Vorascant is a Progenitor class Mothership, designed by the Advent to travel the stars and induct new converts into the will of the Unity, especially on those planets who have up until this point been involved in the conflict. They are some of the most in tune with the collective will of the Unity, making them uniquely suited for their mission.

Capable of supporting up to three squadrons of strike craft, the Vorascant is equipped with multiple banks of pulse lasers and plasma turrets for defense and offensive firepower. It is also capable of orbital bombardment, though it itns't particularly fact when acting in an isolated capacity.

Defensively, the Advent have light ships with relatively weak hulls that are held in place telekinetically via PsiTech (the name for the Advent's psionically integrated technology), their defenses based on sophisticated shielding systems that can take quite a bit of punishment and keep on going. The ship itself is designed to look like a brain, and navigation is provided via those with Psionic abilities.

As far as power is concerned, the ship relies on cold fusion for basic power, but it also has an antimatter reactor which is used when in combat situations, or to power the phase drive.

Unique Capabilities:

Aside from the ability to colonize planets for the Advent, the Vorascant has access to several interesting abilities.

Due to their strong connection to the Unity and the psionic abilities of those aboard, the Vorascant is able to capture the minds of those on destroyed ships who had been connected to the Unity, channeling their knowledge and experience to the crew of a similar vessel, so they may benefit rather than having it lost.

The Vorascant is also capable of channeling energy from itself to allied ships within a certain radius, allowing it to assist in recharging their shields for a short duration of time.

Lastly it has a most peculiar ability. using the psionic abilities of the crew, it is able to take the pain inflicted on a ship being attacked (the exhaustion and suffering of the crew aboard and whatever pain they may feel from successful damage) and project it onto the minds of all ships within a certain radius around the Vorascant itself. this cannot be kept up continuously, but it provides a short term advantage in combat.

History of the Ship:

The Vorascant was built during the second phase of the war, a period where starbases were being constructed to hold vital sectors, and there was an all around stiffening of defenses. She was devoted to securing said defensive lines, enlisting those planets which had not yet joined into the Unity, and taking part in the occasional offensive against the TEC to straighten out weak spots in the line and infringe upon their territory.

It was only within the past few years that the Vorascant saw real action, the sundering of the Unity redrawing battle lines and influence, and they were sent out to reclaim territory not only from their external foes, but from the internal ones as well. Indeed, it was when they were responding to a call for aid on a desert world that was being attacked by a significant force that the Vorascant was swept away. They didn't even realize that anything was wrong, using the wormhole for a short cut to the battlezone.

Some Important People:

Scryer Alera Vesting - the ships navigator and guide amongst the stars, using her psionic powers to see the path that leads them onwards.

Psintegrate Lorana Derres - Essentially serving as the ships weapons officer, she coordinates the Psintegrates that man the defenses and weaponry of the Vorascant when in combat situations.

Coalescent Carina Hamp - The captain of the Vorscant, her word is seen as undeniable truth and law, and she commands the oyalty of the crew with a strong had and her PsiTech abilities.
