Alexander Nevsky

Nevsky waited patiently as the complex magic activated, creating spheres of light before all of the pairs before solidifying into doorways to the world beyond. He moved without hesitation, aware of where they were going and ready for it. He had no doubt that his Lord was up for the challenges ahead, and most certainly so when he was there to assist in their struggle to save the world. Now they merely had to see what it was they would be dealing with when they arrived.

Stepping through, the first thing the Russian noticed was the cold. It was all around them, pervasive, chilling the bone even with the clothes that he was wearing. He might have been used to it, but that did not mean it couldn't be unpleasant. The next he noticed was the darkness lit by blue flames, and he could be glad for his vision that he could see as well as he did. But trying to ride at this time might be a bad idea, to put it mildly.

Most notable though was the fight in front of them, two fierce warriors duking it out in a clash that rivaled the mightiest he had heard about in old bards tales. They might not be shattering mountains, but they were clearly on a level above normal humans.

"I am here, my Lord," Nevsky replied as he moved to stand beside Walgrave with shield and sword manifested and ready to use. "There is foul sorcery at work here," he muttered as he eyed the corpses. A wise concern as they bean to move all of a sudden, leading the nearby Master to lash out with runes at them. Nevsky himself struck with a swift blow, killing one that had drawn too near and seemed to be grabbing for his ankle. For now he would defend him and his Lord, as he waited for direction.

Tatiana Lorenz

Tatiana was busy laying down covering fire, swiveling as blast after blast was thrown at anyone that went near her allies as she covered Shizuka's move for the elevator. Things weren't great, but with the demons busy fighting their doppelgangers or whatever it definitely made things easier for them all. The angels were a bigger problem, especially those allies they had called in, and she found herself grateful for her thrusters to allow for snap dodges.

Then everything went sideways as multiple cards activated. A bright light began to fill the room, and before she could do anything she found herself snapped up in some sort of light chain, one that had absolutely no give to it no matter how much she might struggle or her jets fired to try and yank herself free. Eventually she was forced to sit there in a huff, watching with a glare as the demons and the Angels moved for the elevator unopposed. Meanwhile the new Angel explained her demands. What, prove their total innocence in the entirety of existence or beat her in combat? The only way it was any more insane was the fact that apparently Hohenheim could call her up with the snap of her fingers, for how annoyed the Angel might be.

Of course, then they were left in a situation that was not ideal, near the mech that had exploded once before and blown her up, while Ni-Mu proved that she had not even been given the basic ethics programming to know what sin was, which as far as Tatiana was aware seemed like an oversight in her basic operations package. But she didn't voice that, instead racking her brain to figure out an answer to the angel.

Then at last it occurred to her, and a grin broke out as she looked towards the Angel. "Hey, let me go," she called out. "I haven't committed any crimes or sins. I mean, I remember doing bad things, but those memories aren't mine. I've only been alive for like half a day, and in that time I haven't killed anyone or coveted possessions, stolen, all that good stuff. I shouldn't be punished for the crimes of someone who's already dead." It was true, as far as she was concerned. She was just a clone, who was to say that she had the same soul as the Tatiana who had been blown up in the previous battle?

Focused on Iona as she was, Tatiana was completely unsuspecting as Sliske unleashed his attack. She could have held her breath for several minutes, perhaps enough to escape, had she seen it coming. But since she didn't there was no chance to avoid it as she breathed in the purple fumes. Slowly things shifted, a strange tingling on the back of her skull until she realized that where once she had thought there were friends, she was instead alone. Twisted mechanical monstrosities, beings devoured by machines and corrupted by demonic forces. Her blood began to thunder as she threw herself into renewed struggles, growling and huffing. Even if she could not fight the chain.

The chains, the chains. Why had she bothered trying to argue, to plead her innocence? This had never been a trial, merely a sham so the Angels could hold their 'holier than thou' attitude. The outcome had never been in doubt, and she had been thrown away. Now she was going to die or become some puppet for a demon, trapped in her own mind and unable to do anything. She knew it for a fac, had seen it before, and she would not allow it to happen here.

"No....No no no! Let me go! I won't let you take me!" Hurriedly she tried to prime her funnels, setting them for autonomous fire at everything she designated a target, while more missiles primed themselves for a suicidal fight. She might not succeed, but she would rather die than let these monstrosities get her.

Tartys

Tartys and her Amazonian ally made good work as they struck at the Demons, trying to eliminate them from the competition before they could get much further. Yet all of a sudden it was for nought, with them suddenly healed via a card to the point where it was as if they had never been injured in the first place. "So much for that plan," she muttered as she prepared to move for the elevator while holding off the revitalized Demons.

It as enough of a distraction for Sliske to fire off his attack, even if Tartys noticed it at near the last second and managed a partial dodge. Her wing took the hit, essentially destroying what was left and ensuring that she would require some serious healing before she would be able to fly again in addition to the burn damage to her side. But it was better that being dead.

As she recovered, she found something in her own vision, something that had not been there before. It was a harp, but instinctively she knew that it was more than that. It was not just a harp, it was the peace inherent in the music. It meant that she could go back to being a normal angel, wouldn't have to stain her hands with blood, or feel her body broken and bleeding. She could live as she had before this had happened, before she had been called to fight.

From what had been said she new that she could take it, could bring an end to it right now. Whether it would be the war itslf did not matter, as it would be a peace for her. She liked to think that she was a simple soul who did not want for much. And she knew that she could be content, be happy with this.

She reached for it, yet at the last second her hand stopped. Even if she no longer had to fight, others would. The Imperator would demand it, and there was nothing to change that fact. Could she so readily abandon her duty for the notion of a life without hardship or suffering, when it would merely be forcing it on someone else?

No, she couldn't do that. She wouldn't be able to face herself afterwards. Her hand lowered and she walked past, allowing it to fade away back into an illusion. Perhaps there would come a time when she could accept it, but not now. So she returned to the battle.

For now she moved for the elevator, watching as Syphax took one up and preparing herself to do the same when it got back to the lobby. She brandished her spear in a defensive posture, using her magic to create a shield of light that would hopefully deflect any immediate attacks until she had the chance to react. A renewed determination rested in her heart, and she would not stop until she had succeeded.

In the meanwhile, the amazon that Tartys had been fighting with faced off against the Nun, one who charged in with a brutal fury. Yet she had not come so far merely to be taken down so simply. The Gunblade roared before being raised in a quick stab as the Amazonian struck back, not content to merely be on the defensive but instead meeting fury with a cold heat as she wielded the weapon like it was nothing more than a plank of wood.

@KoL@Mega Birb
@Flamelord Hey would you mind if I gave your Amazon a name? I was gonna have Zyata yell a heads up to her over Sliske's attack at Tartys.

Go for it. I'm not that attached to her.
Though Tatiana may brag about her abilities, and though she may be a supersoldier from a transhumanist love letter, she is nonetheless human and does need to breathe.

Does this mean she doesn't get to explain how she's without sin?
It was her turn now, and Jess could tell that it was going to be difficult following on the heels of that introduction. She would just have to do her best to win some notice for now. It was just the intro after all, so it wasn't like it would determine the outcome of this tournament at all. She would not let herself get psyched out by the crowd.

Stepping on to stage, she moved with quick steps towards the center of the stage, facing the still rambunctious audience. She gave them a few seconds between herself and the previous contestant as she put on her best smile. She could do this, she could do this. Just try to forget, even with the pull nagging at her brain of her own inferiority compared to everyone else. This was just a hobby for her, and she was lucky to have people who liked her. And still, here she was.

Yet she didn't speak first, instead bringing up her violin and her bow, letting it speak for her first as she struck a trilling note and played one of the more notable lines from Berlin. It was one that would get people tapping their feet, the urge to dance, and she let that linger for a few moments. Perhaps it would draw some attention away, or simply sate the crowd so they were not too hostile to her.

Lowering her violin, she smoothly transitioned into speaking as her gaze swept the stadium. "Is everyone ready to have a good time? It's a privilege to be here today with all these other talented performers, so let's shake the city with our sound!"

With that she stepped back, picking a cross more to the side and away from the spotlight. Though she would convince herself that it was merely because all the good spots had been taken already by those who came before her.

Definitely still interested.
Masae Kanegawa

Masae thought she was being pretty patient overall, as she waited for the answers that she had given to b verified. Yet as sh glanced over at the clock she couldn't help but feel a twinge of annoyance course through her. She had been hoping to go see the music show, but it looked like it was already well underway. It was odd, since one would think that the Computer Research Society would be more on the ball when it came to holding to a schedule. Oh well, not much she could do about it. And she was starting to get hungry.....

Eventually they did get around to it, and Masae gave a grateful smile as she prepared to take the vouchers. She still wasn't sure what she would use them for, but she'd think of something. The buzzing of her phone was a distraction compared to that, as she rose from her seat. "Thank you," she replied before faltering as Eins announced that there was some sort of riot going on now.

That was probably what her phone was going off about, wasn't it. Quickly fishing it out, she went to check the new message that she had gotten, figuring it was some sort of automatic alert about a civil disturbance. Well, she knew that was going on since she could hear it outside, aside from the yelling and arguments that had sprung out in the room itself.

A chill ran through her body, hands trembling as her eyes widened. Aderyn....she needed help...the sound booth!

The vouchers were shoved into her pocket by an idle hand before the chair was sent spinning to the side, and Masae wasted no time in charging out the door and down the halls of the now chaotic academy. The text didn't have all the facts that she wanted, she just knew that Aderyn was involved in all of this somehow, and given her physical condition she probably hadn't been the one to throw the first punch.

Damn it, why now of all time?!? She fumed in her own mind as she ran for the sound booth as if her life depended on it. Aderyn was counting on her, and she couldn't let her down now. With precious seconds dripping away, she would only apologize scantly as she moved down the halls of people suddenly milling about in the aftermath of the announcement that had been made.

But of course, the answer was obvious, as she faced the inevitable. DGO. Deep Ground online. It always came back to that damn game. She couldn't think of any other reason why someone would have messed with the sound booth, much less injured her friend. She couldn't think of a single enemy that Aderyn had in the school, aside from whatever might have happened inside of DGO.

Her muscles burned as she took as near a straight line as she could manage, cutting past booths and empty classrooms as she moved along. "Crap like this is why I left DGO in the first place!" Game politics had no place in the real world, especially if it put people in danger. Even if it was a bit hypocritical, having been a part of the Sweepers in the past. But she liked to think that she had turned over a new leaf since then.

But at last she drew near, passing by the 'Dungeon' before heading on to the Bat Cave. Steps were taken at a speed that she was surprised didn't result in her tripping and hurting herself, an idle thought amidst a sea of otherwise focus as she slammed the unlocked door open and ran inside, already wary for whatever sight might be waiting for her. "Aderyn? I...I'm here. I didn't think I could run that fast." Her gaze swept the room, noting the signs of struggle as she looked for her roommate. Was she too late?

Tartys

With her Amazonian escort in tow, Tartys had along the bridge at as quick a clip as she could manage with the storm that was engulfing the entire place, to try and compensate for the delay that had taken place and to make up some ground. But really, when this was over they were going to need to have a serious lesson in making sure the beings of Heaven weren't actively trying to screw each other over in addition to their foes.

As if to prove her point completely, the two of them were hit from behind by some sort of gravity wave, and a quick glance back in mid lurch indicated that it had come from Juno. This might have been somewhat typical for their supposed 'ally', but Tartys was understandably growing leery of venturing onto a battlefield with her again, given that she seemed to be more on Hohenheim's side than on their own. She was probably trying to get the challenge to end as quickly as possible so she could get to that unspecified 'date' that Hohenheim had offered her.

At least they didn't have to spend very long in the rain of swords because of that, but in turn they found themselves headed towards what looked like some medieval torture room, done in a light show of holograms. Miyu's shield was appreciated by the both of them, and as she flew Tartys called upon what magic she could bring to bear to enhance it and try to protect herslef and her allies as they came in for a landing.

Pain flared into existence, and for a moment Tartys found herself unable to move. It was only hanks to her Amazonian ally that she was pulled away, and shaky vision resolved to see that her wings had been torn and leg injured, while the Amazonian had a wicked cut on her arm. "Let me help with that," she offered, rising to her feet once more as she marshaled glowing light.

But the woman brushed her off, nodding as she drew her weapon. "Not now," she explained as she readied a gunsword.

Looking around the lobby Tartys was surprised to find that the Demons were under attack from what looked like copies of themselves, powerset and everything. The Machina had come out better than everyone else had, and now there was a full on melee going on as every faction fought each other as well as the lamias from before. "Focus on taking out the Demons," Tartys told her companion. "We won't have a better opportunity while they're distracted."

The Amazonian nodded, firing off her gunblade at Sliske before moving to engage him and his doppelganger at close range, while Tartys herself tried to fly momentarily before being brought down by the pain of using her wings. Instead she huffed, dispatching a random minion before unleashing a burst of magical energy at the ice walls that were now present, blasting through them and further at Ghelgath behind. Get rid of the Demons here, and this fight would become a whole lot easier.

Tatiana Lorenz

Moving across the bridge, Tatiana nodded as Shizuka issued her orders, and directed her fire accordingly. It might not kill him, but it would make crossing the bridge a nuisance which was better than nothing. And really, any additional trouble for the demons was good for them, given how they matched up in general. But she was determined to actually get inside the building before everyone was wiped out, considering how much this had gone off the rails already.

At least, until things got crazy again. The storm of blades wasn't as much of an issue given that it wasn't aimed at her in the first place, but the giant wave of force that slammed into her from behind was. One of her rifles was torn from her grip as she fkipped head over heels, her thrusters firing to try and correct her flight path before she was tossed off the bridge. Fortunately sh wasn't immediately tossed into the void, though she came unnervingly close to smashing into a wall somewhere along the way.

Shaking her head as she recovered, Tatiana sighted the incoming missiles and quickly reacted to fire off a couple flares to hopefully divert them. She trusted Ni-Mu to defend herself, of course, but the less damage they took in the initial stage the better. Especially with the demons throwing out mines and everything else going to complete chaos.

"I've got your back," she told Shizuka as a few of her remaining funnels deployed, hovering nearby as they fired at any nearby targets that presented themselves, while she in turn moved to lay down covering fire for their commander, and to block Henry from his own mad dash as best she could. They'd have to go one at a time, but she had no problem with delaying the other combatants so the Machina could get through first.

Masae Kanegawa

Glancing around, Masae watched as the results were announced, with her as the only one left. That was something of a surprise, but she would not complain as she relaxed in place and waited for the next round to begin. She was glad that she had made it this far and was looking forward to winning the prize, even if she didn't actually know what she was going to use it for just yet. Shed think about that once she had actually gotten the prize.

A glare of sorts would be aimed at Eins as her comment slipped across the microphone, with an accompanying silent protest. It wasn't her fault that they had been here so long, she wasn't the one who had scheduled for the two events to be so close together. Admittedly it was a comment that might not have been aimed at her, but considering the context of the surrounding sentences she couldn't help but feel like it was directed at er to some extent.

But at last the next round started, and several questions were thrown her way. She did have to compliment the club, they certainly knew how to pull up obscure facts that could really stump a person. It wasn't enough to trip her up though, especially considering all the free time she had without being involved in DGO.

So once the questions were listed off she got to work, jotting down one answer after the other. '1.6 coulombs, Nietzsche, Diego Maradona, Michael Joseph Jackson, Leif Erikson.'

With that she sat back, and waited to see how the chips fell.
