Bio

Well hello.

I guess I should introduce myself, huh.

I'm Gardevoiran, just some schmuck going to college and working towards getting a degree in Fine Arts.

I do commissions and what-not, and you can ask me to do a commission for you through my Discord (Gardevoiran #1429) or up here through RPGuild PMs, and I receive donations and payment through my Ko-fi page. Clicking the box right below here will take you to it.

I'm a nerd. I play Pokemon religiously, I dabble in some anime, I write up here, and I love watching incredibly awful movies and just making fun of them. Specifically things like "Leo the Lion" and what not.

I don't have much else to say, so I guess I can leave you guys with a really bad joke.

"What do you call a cow with two legs?"
"Lean beef."

Stryker, Tib, and Matija's mission - Assassinating Ha'rek
(feat Garde, @iTem, and @Crossfire)

He came to from the trip and looked at his new features and such. His blackened skin, his tough scales, his little tiny partial-mohawk, he took everything in. He even noticed how he somewhat looked like Crispy, but beefier and... somehow... more friendly.

He even looked at the flower in his hands. He managed to do something, something amazing, with his changes. He expected something less marvelous, something more similar to Rain, but clearly his efforts came with great rewards. He wasn't just your average goblin anymore, no. Digbie felt like the strongest goblin in the region. Incidentally, he probably was.

Alas, there was also the deal with the new Job System he had. More options to choose from, though this time it was much easier for him to choose. The three he was drawn to included Shaman, Skirmisher, and Healer, but after looking at the others in his party, he settled on Skirmisher. "Skirmisher as my 'Job', please.

With the flower in his hand, Digbie placed it on his head, right in his hair, and looked towards the rest of the party.

"Hey guys! I just came back from that weird trip of evolution!" Digbie excitedly said. "Oh man, I had a lot of choices. I started with 7 options, got a magical offerin' from investin' nine points into Taboo, turned away as I became this, and I still got offered somethin' from a Job System with like, ten different options!" Digbie looked around at everyone before outstretching his hands and using {Sacred Ground}, covering the area around him (appx 5 foot radius) with his skills.

"I became a Demigoblin, and I'm Earth-attuned and slightly Mana-attuned from my efforts before evolving!" He exclaimed happily. "I'm pretty sure I could go beat Crispy alone!"

Digbie heard the voices call to him. They promised him power if he lived to commit the sins of the world. The strength to crush what lies under his feet like mere beetles and bugs. He could be a ruler, live as himself, probably able to use his strength to terrify and destroy the Demon King himself, even. Such power, such strength, it was really tempting to the goblin. He fawned over the choices before he heard the voice behind him.

They promised him forgiveness, and a way to be lifted from the Taboo he had been offered. He saw the way out here, he saw the freedom of the Taboo he had been cursed with investing into. That was tempting as well.

He was faced with options. Many options. Does he decide to continue down the path of power, or does he try to get by without such alarming strength?

In the end, he went with his gut.

He turned around, and went towards the forgiveness. He didn't even care what he evolved into now, he just wanted to get out of this situation. He wanted to get by with his own strength, and he didn't need a demon to help him get by.

It was time.

Digbie got a wide smile on his face as he turned to the rest of the crowd. "Uh... guys?! I'm about to evolve!!!" He fist pumped before going over the rest of his arsenal for skills. {Sacred Ground} seemed to be the skill he was trying to learn, so that's what he was gonna try and invest into first, pouring four points into it. {Rock Spire} seemed cool, too, so he dumped one point into that. It all left him with two points. He decided {Mental Resistance} might be a good idea for later down the road, in case something was trying to mess with him psychologically, so he dumped the rest into Mental Resistance.

Then, it was time. He looked over his evolutionary path, and he settled on Demiblin. The offering of being a general to a Demon King as a demonic Goblin was just too cool. Plus, Digbie wanted to find out what it would be about.

He stepped into the center of the circle, placed the dying flower in his hands using {Soil Manipulation I}, and said one last thing to his friends.

"Hopefully I'll be able to keep up with you all now!"

Digbie smiled at the reassuring members of the party. "Really? Well shucks, thanks guys. I guess I'm not so bad after all..." He rubbed the back of his neck embarrassingly. He was commended for his efforts by not only Ash, but also by Mourningstar! Ash always seemed like a more friendly comrade, but Mourn commending him was a big deal. Maybe she was fit to lead after all.

He was so caught up in his emotions he almost forgot that Ash was also trying to make his acquaintance. "Digbie's the name. I'm good at diggin', and that's... actually about it. Mournin'star and Oberon can speak for that firsthand." Alright, this is starting to be a real party. Digbie was just fine with that.

When the group came to the stream area, talk of settling down and establishing a base went around the group. Mourn wanted to assault the frogs and whatever was in the burrow, while Ash went with a more pacifistic route. Digbie was more with Ash. The group was in a risky situation right now, and they really didn't need to get into another fight until they had a decent area to rest. "I don't mind helpin' to dig the base out. I have a pickaxe I stole from a goblin earlier before we fought Rattleskull, and I also have this neat shovelin' rock to do it with too. Settin' up a base, gettin' clean water to drink, and healin' off our wounds should be our concern, though. We don't need to hurt the frogs or the burrow dwellers for food yet, since we can eat some of the nearby plants to satisfy our hungers."

Digbie thought for a moment before something came to his mind. "... there was also somethin' I wanted to try. I saw it go on during the explosion, but I didn't know what it was at the time. Too busy tryin' to make sure Torrent was okay." With that, Digbie pulled his Ratskin pack over next to a good area for a shelter, a nice slope and hill, before he went over to a small patch of dirt that was loose and able to be drawn in.

"So... wasn't it a circle first...?" Digbie guessed as he drew a circle in the dirt, his knees on the ground and his mind clearing. He looked over at a dying flower in the vicinity and grabbed the small clump of dirt under it, lifting it up off the ground with {Soil Manipulation} and moving it to the middle of the circle. After that, he held his hands out and focused all of his energy into the circle. Quietly, he began to chant the first thing that came to his head. "Heal the Earth, save those who are weak. Heal the Earth, save those who are weak. Heal the Earth, save those who are weak."

Digbie froze. The resemblance was almost uncanny with Crispy and his father. The look of pure aggression and cruelty on Crispy's face was enough to have Digbie lose his focus, interrupting his {Soil Manipulation} and causing the dirt spike to fall to the ground. Digbie was petrified.

Voices rang in his head, telling him to leave with his friends. To grab the skin and take it with them. That the goblins were dirty and didn't deserve to touch it.

Digbie looked down at Torrent's shed husk and stared for a moment. Was he... also dirty and undeserving? He was a defect goblin, sure, but the only one who seemed to treat him with respect was Oberon. That didn't settle well for his feelings with the rest of the party. He shook his head. There was time to worry about this later. He just wanted to get away from Crispy.

Torrent's Burnt Skin added to inventory.
Item stored in Ratskin Pack.
System: Digbie

He nodded to his allies before working up the courage to speak up. "I-I'm not like those dirty goblins, right guys? I-I'm better than them... right?"

pewhad failing to post before the deadline he set?!

What is this TrEaChErY?!

Nah, but in all seriousness, I'd rather wait for a quality post then wait for one that's pumped out on the day of promise. I'll gladly wait this time too because I'm having a good time.

"Ooohhh thank God." Digbie fell backwards with relief, breathing heavily against the charred and blackened dirt. He was tired, exhausted, and a number of things, but he felt successful and happy. He helped save a life, even if he didn't do too much at first thought.

"Watch over Torrent for now. I'm going to recover my mana so I can finish healing her,"

"Of course... haah... just gonna catch my breath first..." Digbie was busy taking a moment.

Then he sat up, and he realized he did a lot more than he had originally thought. The fire was almost completely gone, save for the occasional ember in the midst of charcoal and ash. Oh jeez... maybe he did a ton. Hecc, the soil underneath the group was bound to be changed after this event, for better or for worse. That was the least of his worries, though...

"Oi, how Digbie doin' magic now!?"
"Digbie, ya gots to get ways from dere! Come wiv us!"
"All dese udda mobs crazy! Dey made dat big beetle go BOOM!"

The goblins were here, with Orchid in tow and with their combined intelligences of a breadbowl. Great. The barbarians wanted to get more goblins to join their ranks, and they came back to grab Digbie. No doubt they were lured here by the explosion. Digbie grabbed a Topapo and chomped on it beside Torrent as he let the others intimidate, stopping his eating when he heard Crispy speak.

"LOOK! DAT ONE ALMOST DEAD!"

Oh heck no.

Digbie stood as soon as Crispy drew the knife, grabbing a Mana Crystal from his Ratskin Pack and popping it.

Used Mana Crystal!
MP recovered.
Mana Crystal consumed.
System: Digbie

He had some food in his belly, he had his magic back, and he was NOT having what was about to happen to Torrent happen. The greenskin stood in front of the injured wurm and used {Soil Manipulation}, lifting a clump of soil from the ground and shaping it into a spike consisting of tightly packed dirt. He aimed it at Crispy and simply stood there.

If looks could kill, Crispy would have had a heart attack right there.

@BCTheEntity
No need to oh now! I just posted!
The old man hummed the continuation to the tune as the time passed outside, overhearing a loud "BLEHHH!" coming from a familiar elf in the tavern behind him. Eh-heh... Aeryn must've tried some of the hogwash that was the ale of the tavern, or at least, she had similar opinions of it to Ursaren. The elder didn't mind those who drank religiously, he just didn't like drinking himself. The only thing he partook of in terms of alcohol happened to be wine, and even then it was normally at social events. He didn't drink it when he was alone like this, nor did he when he was preparing to get back to work once again. This town had a lot of injured, and someone had to heal them up. Still, he was enjoying his small break, be it that it wouldn't last much longer than this. Especially with a guard hastily stepping towards the man.

"Cleric." The guard had an official tone to his voice, despite looking rather too young to be a guardsman for this town. Poor kid must've been hardly older than sixteen.

"Guardsman."

"We have, uh, gathered the wounded from the barracks. We're ready for you to come and work your holy magic."

"Hm. I'll come along now, if you sit a while and listen to this old man's lament."

The guardsman rubbed the back of his neck before sitting down in the rocking chair besides Ursaren, elbows on his knees, looking at his elder with a straight face. Ursaren simply smiled before looking out upon the hustle and bustle of the town. "Guardsman, tell me. Are you simply doing what you have to in order for the best of your town, or are you sitting there just to get me off of your back?"

"W-wha-?"

"Heh, don't be hard on yourself there, comrade. I've been in your boots before." Ursaren chuckled for a moment before looking to the guardsman, leaning back in his seat. "I'm asking for a reason, of course. Not just to stump you. There are no wrong answers here."

"... to get you off my back. Why?"

"I knew a elven girl back in my youth. Absolutely beautiful, but there was a catch, as she was raised by this real beast of a man. I heard tales of him, too, and they really showed. Tall, brawny, hairy, just a real bloody monster of a man her father was. He walked through the lands scaring all that he came across, no stopping to care for anyone's desires or wants. He felt like the world rejected him, turning him bitter and cold to everyone he came across. Rumors said he was even a cannibal for a while, or at least, that's what she told me!" Ursaren let out a hearty laugh to mellow out the situation.

"The girl told me about the day the two met. She told me he wasn't her real father, as her real parents had died in a carriage accident very early in her life, far earlier than she had been able to remember. Apparently, the crash was on the day that the beastly man found the wreckage, and he was rather hungry that day. He found the girl as a fine meal, and he found himself faced with two choices. The choice to do what he needed to survive, as he hadn't eaten in a few days, or another option." Ursaren raised his finger to the guardsman. "Leave her alive. Find another meal. Of course, I wouldn't be telling this story if he had eaten something right then, no. He fought back the instincts to eat and survive as he found another thing to do. He lifted the girl up and carried her with him, back to his cavernous home. It wasn't much, not at all, but it was certainly a better home than an orphanage would be for the girl. Have you heard of the rumors around those places? I've heard terrible things."

"Good man, where are you going with this?"

"Sometimes, son, we must do what's best for the masses. That elven girl changed my life more than she could ever realize, and she wouldn't have been able to lest her father did the unthinkable." Ursaren let out a sigh, smiling afterwards before nodding to himself and standing up from his rocking chair.

"Well, a deal is a deal. Come, guardsman. Lead me to the wounded, if you would so kindly."
