Dan "ooooed" and "ahhhed" with child-like reverie as he observed the beautiful and meticulous architecture of the castle. A castle. He was in an actually castle. Only the best Paladin's got to go train in the orders real life stone and mortar castle, and that one was old and run down and drafty.

When he got to the emperor he was surprised to see he was so young. He'd expected a beard. Kings and emperors should certainly have beards. What threw him more off was his white hair. Dan reached up and ran a strand of his own through his fingers. Dan's hair had turned white after the attack the had taken the lives of his parents. He wondered if the Emperor had gone through something similar.

As the royalty explained the situation Dan nodded along, eagerly absorbing everything he was told like a sponge. He smiled. "Search out evil wizard, destroy evil wizard, and end the monstrous threat. A simple enough quest, if a dangerous one."

Katherine Vs. Christine

A collab between @Hammerman and @Gentlemanvaultboy

Katherine grinned down at her sister, leaning super far over the raining like the che her cat. "Oh, she thinks she can afford to go easy on me, does she?" She giggled, disappearing up the stairs. "Don't you dare use that as an excuse when you lose." She called back.

As soon as she was at the top, out of site, she leaned against a wall and clutched at her chest with grunt. "Note to self, no more leaning like that for a while...," she said, making her way more slowly to her room.

Once she got there she threw off the two sizes to big shirt she'd taken from Thobias's closet to replace hers and started digging through her closet.

She came down in what she thought of as one of her throw away shirts, a red tee with no sleeves to speak of and a big cheesy fantasy dragon emblazoned on the back. It was the sort of cheap thing you find in dollar store clearance sales, which is exactly where she'd found it. It paid to have cloths you didn't really mind burning if you were in the habit of burning them.

Christine giggled back. It's always nice to see her sister be her usual energetic and cocky self.

Unlike her, Christine didn't need to wear some cheap shirt into the battle. She simply wore her usual coat dress. Even if it were to get damaged by her sister's flames, which she had no intention of letting the battle situation to ever get to that point, she still had a couple more replacements in her wardrobe.

She went to the gym first, as she had no need to change her outfit. The place was located in the basement of the house, a (relatively) safe place for them two to spar. With a layer of dirt and rock separating it from the rest of the house, even if they would go all out (well, mostly Kath since her ability was the more destructive of them two), the rest of the house should (hopefully) be not affected. She turned on the lights, smelled the dusty scent of unuse, and then walked to the middle of the room to begin her stretching exercises. Just a little something to prepare her muscles for what's to come. She had been out of commission for a while after all.

The place they would fight at was the central empty room of the complex. The side rooms contained all the expensive gym equipment they couldn't really afford to destroy with their fights. It was decently large, though the ceiling certainly could be taller. A wind user would probably feel suffocated in such a room. Thankfully, none of them was that.

Her stretching was short and simple. Just a series of muscle elasticity training. When Katherine entered, she would be greeted by the sight of Christine reaching down with her arms until her fingers could touch the tip of her boots.

That, and the sight of her tightly-fitting black panties covering her butt, as she was facing away from her.

"This is some advanced form of psychological warfare."

Katherine rolled her eyes at her soulmates suggestion as she stepped quietly into the middle of the room, standing opposite her sister across the dusty floor. Slowly she took a deep breath, then shouted a mighty "OSE!" that echoed through the basement.

"Aaaah!"

The shout took Christine by surprise, making her lose her balance, falling forward with her butt up in the air.

"Uuu, you didn't have to shout so loud, sis..." she replied with a muffled voice.

She quickly recovered however, standing upright in no time, dusting her coat with her left hand.

"Alright, I'm ready!" she declared, taking up her fighting stance. "You can come anytime, sis!"

Cold air began to gather around her as she exuded her power. The moment Kath launched at her, she would shield herself with her ice, as well as freezing the air around her sister in an attempt to douse her flames.

Katherine just laughed before jumping into her boxing stance, raising her fists up to her chest and bouncing from from foot to foot as she felt the air in the basement drop a few degrees.

"Not gonna let me warm up, then?" She asked, but inside she was already trying to size Christine up. Unlike her, Christine had always focused on her God given powers. It wasn't surprising at all that she was pulling them out so soon. She concentrated for a moment, and her own temperature began to rise to counter the chill that now hung in the air. Under her shirt a light began to glow from the sun shaped scar set over her heart and as the heat seemed to radiate from it into her limbs she felt her arms get stronger, her feet faster. The palm of one hand grew hot, so hot it glowed.

She suddenly sprinted forward, darting in a zigzag pattern up to her sister buy stopped short of throwing a punch just as a wall of ice sprang up between them. That was about what Katherine had expected from her, but she was confident she could drill through that ice. It was then that she felt the cold closing in around her, like the fangs of a wild beast. She could already feel the ice forming on her body, but she threw her flaming arm to the sky and fired a beam of plasma into the ceiling. It collided with the stone and fell back down like snow all around them, heating the air to try and weakening the effect of Christine's chill.

The ice on Kath's body formed, but slowly and thinly. She flexed, sending it flying off in shards of wet crystal.

"Tee hee, of course not! There's only going to be the cold here when I'm done!"

As she wanted, Kath took the first move. She charged forward in a zigzag pattern, dodging all the frost Christine generated on the floor. When she closed the distance, Christine erected her ice wall, blocking her blow just in time.

"Ha, it wouldn't be that easy, sis!" she cheekily shouted.

The cold suddenly grew from all sides; from the wall itself and from the air around Katherine.

She escaped just in time however, firing off a blast of plasma up to the ceiling, sending off heated fragments of rocks downwards, heating the air back up. Christine quickly shielded herself with even more ice walls as a defensive measure.

"H-hey! You're ruining the ceiling, sis!" Christine protested.

She quickly countered by transforming the wall near Katherine into a swarm of icicles, Like machine guns, she fired them one by one in a rapid motion towards her. And simultaneously, the ice under her spread forth once again, wanting to catch her sister unaware.

"Like I've never done that before." Katherine laughed, even as she jumped back to brace herself. Christine had thrown up more of those walls. Was she planning to layer herself in?

Nope. Tuned out Tue original wall was just ammo, as it shattered into shards that began flying at her he by one. Katherine raised up her fists and divided now was as good a time as any to test her speed. She threw a curved hook at the first of the icicles, catching it in the shaft. It shattered, then boiled into a cloud of steam from her still heated fist. She caught the second one like this as well, and third, missed a fourth which buried itself in her shoulder, hit a fifth, and then was forced to duck and weave as the pace of the ice started to pick up. She put all of her boxing prowess to use to moved herself between the rain of ice.

Then she suddenly felt cold on her legs. Flicking her eyes down to see ice climbing up over her shoes and up her pant legs. Her sister was trying to lock down her legwork! Smart, but it also showed how dedicated she was to not getting into melee where Kath wanted her. She was determine to turn this into a contest of powers, power she knew Chrissy was better at controlling.

Well, is that's what she wanted...

Katherine threw out her hand, burning palm pointed directly at the ice walls and let loose. A blast of fire rolled out, engulfing the icicles flying at her and colliding with the ice walls her sister had set up to try and melt her out of there.

Christine saw how her barrage of icicles managed to land at her sister. Not all, certainly, but some. Enough so that she was taken aback, immobilized at the spot where she was standing.

Exactly where she wanted her to be.

Her second attack, the spreading sheet of ice, had traveled to her feet, paralyzing her even further. It traveled upwards, until eventually it would freeze her body completely.

She wasn't naive however. She knew there was no chance her sister would just let that happen.

And she was soon proven to be correct, as Kath blasted her flames straight towards her direction. With her ice walls thinning due to her using them as ammunition for her so-called "icicle gatling gun", it was a genuine danger to her.

She had to change her strategy. Fast!

She stopped both her icicles and her creeping frost attack, focusing her power entirely on defense. Before the flames could reach her, she dropped her own body temperature to near absolute zero. And then, using the cold as protection, she ran straight into the flames, straight towards Kath.

On contrary to her expectation, she was perfectly willing to engage her on melee combat.

She came out of the flames, scathed but still relatively fine. Her coat now had holes all over it, revealing both her panties and half of her breasts.

She immediately ran towards Kath, intending to give her the tightest hug she could muster.

Of course, it wasn't just any hug. She would freeze her instantly the moment they touched, as her temperature was now dropping down once more after being heated up by the flames.

She called it the Death Hug. And she would only dare to use it against her.

She couldn't just possibly hug random strangers to death, could she?

"Hell yes!" Katherin said, fire burning up in her stomach as she saw Christine burst out of the fire. The middle of her shirt lit up as fire poured down the and filled the lines of her scar like a flood rolling down an canyon. Her blast of fire stopped as her arms began to glow from the heat continued to build and build. She drew back her arm as Christine came at her, huge grin across her face.

As Christine brought her arms down to wrap Katherine in their chilly embrace Katherine punched her in the boob.

Christine did not see it coming at all.

Or perhaps, even if she knew it was coming, she would've not been able to counter or defend herself either, as she was fully focused on giving her sister her so-called "hug of death". Most of her power was spent keeping the temperature of her own body as low as possible.

However, said ignorance became a blessing anyways, as even though the blow landed, Kath would soon find that her fist was stuck there, as the frost had climbed into said hand, freezing it stuck.

Normally, her flame could neutralize such an effect, but when the one being punched was near absolute zero in temperature, even her flame wasn't good enough.

"Aaah!"

Christine yelped in pain the moment the blow landed. She would've been thrown backwards from the force, if not for Kath's fist being instantly stuck to her skin in the split second of contact.

Now there were two options on how the attack could end. Either Christine kept her balance as the adhesive force was strong enough to counter the raw force the punch had given, or Kath would be thrown away with Christine as the latter's feet failed to stay in place. The two would fall down to the ground—both losing their balance at the same time.

"Gyaaa!" Katherine yelped in turn as as she felt her hand flash freeze. Christine, surprisingly though, held firm. It was weird, she felt like she should have sent Christine flying but the strength just hadn't come to her. So she was left in this awkward position.

"This is what I get for trying to be funny." Katherine said as she tried to pour heat into her arm to thaw it out. At least she hadn't gone for the slap like she'd been thinking about, that would have been terrible.

As though the universe had a sense of humor it was at that moment the fire from her scar finished burning a big long trench down the middle of her shirt, magically transforming the shitty dollar store shirt into a shitty dollar store vest.

Trying to ignored that, and now very wary of being within literal arms reach of her sister, Kath leaned back and pulled, falling onto her back. Either she was going to pop free and roll away backwards or Christine was going to come with her, get a shoe planted on one of the non-damaged parts of her coat, and get thrown over Kath onto her back.

Kath's response was, once again, something Christine had not predicted.

Ignoring the ruination of her sister's clothes, though she still blushed at the sight nonetheless, she tried to move her body forward once again. The more flesh that touched, the more her frost could spread.

Only that Kath had anticipated it. She pulled back and lift her overhead like she was some sort of a wrestler. She was tough, she knew that perfectly well, but to lift her up like this?

"W-what are you do--aaahhh!"

Christine could do nothing as her feet went up on the air, landing with a thud on her back. The impact was hard enough that it disoriented her, making her unable to move from the spot, with the pain crippling her momentarily.

It was a clear opening. Kath could end their match right then and there.

That is, if she still got any strength to spare.

"Okay." Katherin said, breathing heavy. "We're both on on backs. You want to call this one a draw?"

"Y-yeah," Christine replied, panting as well. "I-I think a draw is fine..."

"You want to warm back up so I can pull my knuckle off you boob?" Kath asked in a sing song teasing voice.

A-ah, r-right..."

Christine immediately dethawed the frozen hand that was still attached to her left boob. She had completely forgotten about it, thinking that she had already released herself on her own.

"There... You should be able to pull it away now..."

"Thank you." Katherine said, pulling away and shaking some of the water off it. She pulled herself up to a sitting position, looked down at the shirt, and sighed as she took the two sides and tied them together in a knot. She looked like a ranch hand."I hope that doesn't happen every time I fire up from now on."

She stood and reached down to help Christine up. "Nice fight. You were kind of kicking my ass there."

Christine took her sister's hand, standing up as well.

"T-that's not true. I think you win this time, Kath," she replied with a giggle. After she stood, it was clear just how much damage she had took in the fight. Her coat was unsalvageably ruined, with its hem burned and blackened at the front, showing the black panties she was wearing (that, mercifully, didn't seem to be damaged in the slightest). And the top part was utterly in tatters. And whatever flesh it failed to cover showed signs of burns on them. Nothing too serious to demand a medical emergency, thankfully enough.

"So, I think we should change right away, sis. Our clothes... they don't seem to be in the best condition," she said with a blush, looking at both her sister's and her own outfit.

"Good idea. This is the exact time someone bursts in unexpectedly on TV." Kath said. She looked over at the stairs for a few moments, as though daring the universe to screw with them.

The universe blinked first.

"Right, let's go get changed." She said, starting toward the stairs. "Then figure out how to spend the rest of the day."

"Alright, sis," Christine happily followed her. For some reason, every time she lost to her sister, she never felt that upset about it. Perhaps it was because of her adoration of her. Or it could be just some simple sibling love in the act. Whatever it was, she never reacted badly from being defeated by her.

Though of course, if she were the one to win instead, she would be terribly elated, to the point of, perhaps, bragging about it to her.

Ryu vs. Linkle

Collab with @Lugubrious

Though not a long-standing face at Lumbridge, Ryu boasted a name well-known to the general populace, and it took just minimal inquiry for Linkle to track him down. Sitting alone in one corner of the guild hall, no doubt position to attract the attention of potential challengers, the white-clad martial artist watched the girl approach.

Everything about he man screamed ‘fighter’, almost to a fault. His gi was dirty and stained, his feet calloused, his skin and muscles hardened by endless battle. One had to wonder, just looking at him, if he did anything but wander around on foot and fight. Yet there could be little doubt his chosen lifestyle made him a formidable warrior.

He seemed to understand just why Linkle had come. “Good evening. Are you prepared to face me?”

Linkle kicked one of her new boots against the other as she stood in front of Ryu. "Yep. Nice to meet you, Mr. Ryu. I'm Linkle." She said, infectious peppy. Her old boots were swung over her shoulder like a soldiers knapsack. They were much longer than the new pair, but somehow lighter, and she had to hold her crossbows in her hands because there was nowhere to holster them.

The only weapons Ryu looked like he had were those huge calloused knuckles of his. She held up her crossbows. "What are the rules?"

Pausing for a moment, the martial artist considered Linkle's question. Evidently not many prospective opponents really asked him for terms of engagement. "Not much," he replied after a short time. "I'd like to see you fighting at full strength, but you can set the pace for our battle. Whatever your methods," he said, acknowledging her weapons, "I will rise to meet the occasion. I prize the fight itself, but I fight to win as well."

Linkle grinned at that confidence. "Okay, so long as you don't mind." She said. "Just promise you'll tell me if I nick a vital spot. So, where to?"

Ryu inclined his head toward the door. "Outside. The street will serve as our arena." He led the way out of the guild and outside the castle grounds. Despite his assurance that any old street would be fine, he went an extra distance to make sure that he and Linkle would not be situated in a dense, highly populated area. While the man showed nothing but politeness, an air of tension arose as the pair's footsteps brought them closer and closer to fierce confrontation. After what seemed like seconds, Ryu turned about. He tightened his headband and assumed a fighting stance, bouncing in place. "I am ready."

Linkle took a deep breath, bouncing from side to side herself. She felt out the weight in her new shoes. She wouldn't be able to move as fast in these, but she bet they would make her kicks harder. She laid her other pair on the ground beside her. Then, deciding to lighten her load as much as possible considering the circumstances, piled most of her equipment on top of them. The bow, the orange swords, anything she had stuffed into her shorts, everything except the shield.

She turned back to Ryu, rolled her shoulders, raised her crossbows, and said. "Ready."

She waited but a moment longer, for the words to register, then dashed forward toward the man. She'd been right, she was definitely slower than before. As she ran she threw both of her arms forward, blasting a pair of bolts at Ryu as she closed the distance.

Ryu's breathing changed as he focused. The girl would be keeping her projectile weapons, but how many projectiles had flown his way in his life? Thousands? Tens of thousands? Her bolts moved swiftly, but he determined how long it would take them to reach him and moved appropriately. As the first bolt came his right arm flashed across, striking with the back of his knuckle. His parry sent the bolt spinning off to the side. The next second his other hand swerved to the left, deflecting the second bolt, and after that Linkle arrived. Ryu chose to meet her headlong rush toward him with a sobering donkey kick. He cannoned forward the weighty side kick, exploiting his range advantage over his much smaller opponent to its fullest.

"That was so cool!" Linkle said. Now she didn't feel bad at all for bringing her weapons. As he rushed forward to meet her she spun, fire erupting from her boot as she brought it around in a counter kick looking to lock heels with the man and see if that extra weight was worth anything.

The two kicks struck and clanged off one another. Had the archer's boots been any lighter, Ryu's mighty donkey kick would have powered straight through and struck her square in the torso, but instead he was forced to spin. Working with the cards dealt to him, he pivoted deftly, and span back into his normal fighting stance with his hands nearly clasped by his side. A brilliant blue orb of spirit flame whirled to life between his palms, and the next second he thrust them forward. "Hadoken!" he called, as the fireball flew Linkle's way.

Linkle knew she wouldn't be able to get out of the way in time. As Ryu had been setting up to cast his blue sorcery Linkle has been trying to regain her balance, the unfamiliar weight causing her leg to land awkwardly after the deflection and throwing off her stance.

She's already learned how to deal weird projectiles though. The tips of her crossbows flashed red and she fired off a pair of bombs at the Hadoken ball.

The short distance between Linkle and her opponent meant that her bomb arrows barely got to travel before they hit the Hadoken together and blew up in both fighters' faces. Neither received much injury given the bombs' relatively small blast radius, but the smoke left behind obscured the sightline between them for a brief moment. In that instant Ryu launched himself into the air, hurtling around with one leg outstretched in an incredible hurricane kick. It blew away the smoke in dramatic fashion, offering Linkle a fleeting glimpse of the coming storm as Ryu yelled, "Tatsumaki senpukyaku!"

All Linkle could do as the fighter came spinning out of the smoke was defend herself. She got her footing and then turned, putting her back and the spider shield on it in the path of the mans kick. She braced herself.

The kick impacted, striking again and again. Pain spread across her back like the pounding of a drum, but the full power of the kick was spread out by the shield and the weight if the boots kept her from going flying, though the power of the kick did send her stumbling forward.

Linkle turned the stumble into a roll, getting some distance on the man and spinning to face him as she rose. She pulled up her bows and fired off a few bolt, to punish him if he'd tried to chase her too close.

It had been a while since she fought a human sized opponent one on one. Well, technically one on one. The smaller enemies that had usually surrounded them were never much of a factor, save to let her build up her momentum. You could go at them like you would a horde, but sometimes it was better to bait out an attack you could dodge then punish when it left them open. She was getting a good look at Ryu's moves, and that spinning kick was deliciously punishable if you could bait it out of him at the right time.

Even as Linkle rolled away, trying to get some distance, Ryu did not let up for a second. He executed a strange maneuver, dashing forward only to crouch and immediately stand again. Somehow, the crouch carried his momentum forward while also allowing him to dash again, and when he did it over and over he practically slid across the floor after her. When she fired some bolts his way he opted to crouch while blocking, creating a defense that almost completely negated the bolt's damage. Still, it gave Linkle the chance to slip away again.

That suited him just fine. Linkle's attacks from any range dealt little damage, and she couldn't pick up momentum in a fight like this. Ryu began to gather energy, warning her, "You will not be able to zone me out. Shinku..." Another Hadoken blossomed between his hands, but this one grew explosively. It swelled up to the size of a wrecking ball, forcing Ryu to close his hands and compact it back down, but it swelled up yet again. "Hadoken!" When he thrust his hands forward, a giant beam of blue energy blew into Linkle in an instant. Ryu adjusted his aim while firing to track attempts to evade, too. It lasted only two seconds, but those seconds were more than enough to convince any foe that Ryu should not be underestimated at a distance.

Linkle again had no choice but to rely on the spider shield, but this time she had to drop a crossbow to use it. She whipped the shield off her back and held it in front of her, her entire body shaking as the beak impacted. Her guard only held for a second, her arm buckling as the beam engulfed her. The shield went spinning off her arm, landing a good ways away as the beam bowled her over and sent her rolling even further away scorched and throbbing all over.

Linkle pulled herself up off the ground, shaking her head. Well, she definitely didn't want him doing that again.

Her crossbow lay on the ground between the two of them. She had to have that back anyway. She dashed forward at Ryu again, the tip of her bow glowing red as she waved it in a little circle in front of her. Bombs flew in a general bombardment, looking to dissuade the fighter from using those strange crouch bursts of speed he'd used to chase after her earlier. As she reached the other bow she rolled forward so as not to lose her momentum, scooping it up in her other hand and adding a shower of normal arrows to her bombs as she closed the distance.

A volley of explosive arrows sailed Ryu's way, and he jumped. Though high for a human, his jump did not reach high enough to evade the blasts, and the force flipped him end over end as he fell. Linkle's arrows caught him before he hit the ground, comboing him until he hit the dust. It took only a moment to right himself, but the fighter had taken a good hit. He stood back up and, as Linkle drew near, threw out a quick low foot to try and catch her off guard. His legs and arms were visibly tense with muscle.

Linkle saw the leg coming and hopped into the air over it, bending her knees and lifting her legs up before suddenly stomping down to they and catch his foot.

Stone-faced as ever, Ryu watched Linkle fall for it as she tried to punish his crouching light attack, one of the fastest-to-recover techniques in his arsenal. The answer was obvious.

"Shoryuken!"

Ryu launched into the air in a rising uppercut, putting the strength of both his legs and arms into it. The invincible technique blitzed straight through Linkle's kick to dealt her a solid blow. As she sailed away, Ryu landed and, after resuming his fighting stance, started moving toward her once more. When she hit the ground, she would have to wake up, and Ryu already had his next move in mind.

Linkle saw fairies on the insides of her eyes as she sailed thought the air. Was this what it felt like to be on the receiving end of a weak point smash? Yeah, it must be.

She couldn't even see him as she stared up at the orange sky. It was peaceful for a second, all oat a chance to catch the breath that had been knocked out of her, then gravity took hold again and started to bring her back down to the street.

She didn't that. She spun herself, holding in the air and shooting bolts in vertical circle around her, more to arrest she fall and try to regain her balance than anything.

Her knees almost buckled as she landed on the ground, unsteady but on her feet.

Ryu moved out of the way of Linkle's spray of bolts, preparing to strike after she hit the ground. When she landed, however, she looked only a few taps away from hitting the ground. He stopped for a moment, wondering if she could take another blow. He let his muscles slacken a touch, and asked, "Are you able to continue?"
Linkle had been starting to raise up her bow, but stopped in kind as she saw Ryu's tension slack a little.

"Are you kidding?" She said between deep breaths. "I could keep...I mean I could go......no." She let her legs slide out from under her and collapsed onto her butt. "You're really something."

This time, Ryu allowed himself to smile. "You did well. Keep training, fighting, and growing stronger. That is all I have done to become 'something'." He approached Linkle and held out a hand to help her up. Once he did, he walked over to where he left his bag and knelt to rummage inside. When he returned to his challenger, he presented to her two spirits resting on the palm of his hand. "This is for your earnest effort. Take one." Inside one’s core was a young woman with sparkling blue hair. The other harbored a burly man with a shock of blonde hair, rising like a pillar atop his head.
Linkle stared down at the girl with the icy blue hair, carefully reaching down and plucking the girl from his hand and holding her up to her eye. "She's pretty." She said absentmindedly. It was surprising that the spirits were actual people and not creatures like she was used too. She looked up at the warrior curiously. "If you wouldn't mind talking about it, where did you get these?"

Her question returned Ryu's face to it usual steely composure. "We met. We fought," he said, in a low, matter-of-fact tone. "None of them would admit defeat. If I did not destroy them...they would have destroyed me. It seems to be the way of this world. But I do regret it." He briefly examined Linkle's face, her eyes in particular. "I have felt the urge too. To attack and attack, heedless of the outcome. I suppose I am fortunate to have fought back violence for so long, and attained the Power of Nothingness. I am glad that you and your friends, too, seem free of it." Since his new acquaintance had selected her spirit, he went to put the last one away.

His words made her think back, for the first time, to her time under the lord of lights control. She wondered if it had been fun, hunting down that height pink little thing that had used the last of his strength to free them? The thought made her shutter, but at least she didn't think she'd been aware of it. He'd not only knew something else was in his head, he was fighting it.

She went through the familiar motion, holding the heart on top of the spirit she'd accepted from Ryu. As he rose from his bag she held it out to him. "Here." She said. Looking over the arrow shafts still sticking out of the man. It was more than Geralt at least. Maybe enough. "Take this. It's what kicked him out of my mind. You'd be able to make them too, if you worked at it."

Ryu, engaged in the messy and painful activity of removing bolts and then tightly binding his wounds with bandages from his bag, paused to consider the heart in Linkle's hand. Spiritually attuned as he was, he could still feel the touch of Galeem in his core. Anything to give his heart some peace was worth a little risk. Gingerly, the martial artist accepted Linkle friend heart, and was immediately restored. He closed his eyes and breathed deep of the cool evening breeze, a free man at last. "Thank you," he told her, plain and simple. "You've got a good spirit, miss. Take care not to give it all away." He held his hand in the direction of the Adventurers' Guild. "We should eat before it's gone."

Linkle just nodded, happy to have been of some real help. She went to gather her things, pulling on her regular boots so her legs didn't feel quite as heavy as she slowly followed the man back, heavy boots dangling from one hand and the blue spirit in the other.

Along the way she held it up to be face and spoke intimately to it. "Hi. I'm Linkle. Nice to meet you....whoever you are. Sorry I don't know your name. Would you still be friends with me, though?" She glanced wistfully at Ryu. "It turns out I could still really use the help."

Linkle waved to everybody as she set off to make the delivery to Mina. Along the way they passed by the Guild Hall, and sure as clockwork the chorus of "cukoo cukoo" started back up again as Linkle was spotted by her faithful fowls. Except, if anything, the clamor was louder this time after spotting Linkle in the company of another bird. She held her finger up to her lips and shooshed them, waving her hand down to try and keep them from jumping the fence. "It's not what you think!" she shouted at them, but that did nothing to stop the glares of dozens of little red eyes from following the party down the street.

As they approached the restaurant Linkle glanced nervously between it and the Chocobo, thankful that they would be leaving it outside so as not to cause any misunderstandings. She happily dumped the eclectic collection of wild vegetables and spices from her spider shield onto the waiting tray of one of Mina's employees, placing the thing back on her back as she watched them bounce away to the back. She was even more happy when Mina said that they wouldn't have to be butchering any chocobo's today, straight up hugging her, then Euden, then the Chochobo once they made it back outside. Only when sufficient love was shown to everyone around her did she lift her face from its fuzzy yellow feathers did she stop to consider Eudens question. "Well, the only thing I had left on my grocery list was Tropius Bananas and I figure I can snipe those right off their necks if we could find some." She said earnestly as she started walking. "But if your up for it we could go a little farther. We were actually looking for someone for the shopkeeper when we stumbled on the lake, so we could head out...wow, which direction was it? More east? I'd have to check the-"

Linkle trailed off as she saw something. Michael, Franklin, and the Kid came strolling out of the local shop carrying some valuables and looking pretty pleased with themselves. "Hold that thought. Hey guys!" she called out, leading the boy over to them.

Linkle beamed in amazement at how things had worked out. A puzzle filled temple? She would have been useless, and worst of all redundant. If they had ended up going where she'd wanted to, Euden, Gran, and Mr. Nick would all probably be dead.

That right there? That was destiny when it was working properly.

Just as she was pivoting to maybe riding out and helping the other half of their group out said group rolled in hauling an entire ton of ore, meat, and spices. "What did you guys do?" she asked, staring in awe at just the cart Bowser had been hauling. Even better than that Peach had turned up with the missing ingredient, meaning that there wasn't really a reason for her to ride out anymore and that dinner was officially on. Linkle looked on as the chef handed out the additional prizes, the three mysterious loot boxes, and Linkle felt her spirit dampen slightly a she realized that she hadn't actually made any progress toward her goal today. But only slightly. Everyone had made it back safely, though the turtle wizard seemed to be running his own errands right now. She couldn't feel bad about that.

She turned to Euden, smiled, shrugged, and said. "You want to go to a party?"

The energy in the guild hall, where everyone had seemed to gravitate in the wake of all these quest being done was electric. Between the chatter, the guild marm trying her best to sort the cards and rewards, and the guildmaster putting in an appearance it really did feel like a party. Linkle of course had to get a front row seat when that guy was speaking, pulling Euden along to the front as the man made his proclamation that the F Rank hunt was officially open to them. She couldn't help but cheer, throwing her arms in the air. Today had been great so far. They'd clear challenges like no one's business and it seems like most everyone had made a new friend, even the gunslinger seemed to be hanging around with some other guy. With a group of heros like this what could some monster do?

Still, something bothered her. From her position right at the front she could see the guild marm leave one of the quest cards aside. She quirked an eyebrow and picked it up. It was the one for the guy that wanted to fight people, this Ryu. Had nobody done this one yet? A wandering warrior, given out spirits as prizes. She wondered just how much he knew about the world they'd all found themselves in. Maybe he'd seen some of the things she was looking for.

"Looks like I'll have to miss the start of dinner." she said, more to herself than anything. She turned to Euden. "Because I bragged that we'd be doing all these quests. Do you know which of these people is Ryu?"

Linkle would wait patiently to get her share of the fishman reward before approaching him, of course. After all, if she was going to be fighting anyway she may as well break in some new boots while she was at it.

It was fun Stern. I know real life can be demanding, best of luck to whatever it is you got going on right now.
Anybody else planning to take Ryu on before dinner, because I'm gonna.
I was planning to run to the guild, pick up the rewards, and hopefully spot that the missing person quest had also been completed so Linkle doesn't feel like she has to ride back out and do that. I'd be happy to help Bowsers party though, we did say we'd see them at the fish and they hadn't made it.

Even if Euden didn't take her up on her offer, Linkle still resolved to send any rabbit eared people his way.

They were in sight if Lumbridge when they were unexpectedly met by a rescue party that had been thrown together.

"To Mina's Kitchen, with regards from Mr. Bowser's group." Linkle said brightly to the blond robot. At least Linkle though she was a robot from the way her joins were segmented like that. If so she was the most human looking one they'd me, so far as she knew she'd never seen one with hair before. Then again, she'd never met one that hadn't attacked her on sight.

An actually cool robot. Wishes really did come true.

"We're not done yet, though. We still need the bananas and..." She glanced up at the Chochobo, then reached up and pulled its head down to their level. "Do you guys know if there's one of these around, but, like, evil? We need the meat and if I have to slay one I'd really rather slay a bad one."

She was interrupted by the familiar, terrifying noise of the giant kart. It was impossible to miss the thing rolling across the plains back toward town. She wondered who it was that had taken it out, and what sort of wrongs they'd been righting?

"I guess we can head back for a bit to at least tell the hound master his fish problem is solved." She said, leading her Chochobo as she followed the group back to town.
