In SoL, the 'goals' become the drama and interpersonal connections/histories players make with each other. Plus setting in in places like a school/college for example give you a timeline to work with.

Time to start the hunt for a decent SoL RP. I could make one, but it would be nice to be a player and a GM for once xD

About
Been at this game for a good while now. Starting RPing at the tender age of 15 back when Bebo was a thing. A year later I found myself forum Roleplaying and haven't really looked back since. Over these past ten years I have done practically every kind of RP you could imagine from Nation RPs and Arena RPs to 1x1s and Large group RPs. My last RP hobby was fighting RPs, which I have now decided to leave behind in order to pursue more SoL style Rps.

Outside of RP I am an aspiring writer, despite being terrible with words, as well as an avid gamer. If I am not on discord with the Guild or RPing in some way, I am probably on either my PlayStation or on Steam. Moved into D&D and ended up starting a podcast that has been an interesting journey.

Aaron was a very confused man right now. His entire evening had been turned upside down. He had travelled to the gym to try and relax and try to forget all of the emotions that had been reawoken inside his heart. In a small moment his entire peace had been shattered. Phantoms of the past had come rushing in. One by one, until a large group had formed. It didn't help that the first person he saw was Mei. Literally anyone but her. He hasn't kept up with the affairs of his peers after high school, so seeing them all again was something of a shock to the system.

For the most part he has no idea what they were upto. Or what they were doing for that matter. Sure he kept an eye on Jade from afar with social media when he could but that was mostly it. Everyone else in that room was a complete mystery. He was fairly sure that he could say the same about everyone towards him. There was no one in that group that would particularly care about Aaron and his actions, or see any need to keep up with the goings on in his life. Aaron just didn't fit in.

This was true before the fire too. Staring at his fellow former classmates. Aaron knew all too well that High School had not been kind to him. He had ended up staying outside of any social circles, but that was kind of his choice, as well as fate pushing him aside. The popular guy in middle school, wasn't always destined for greatness in High School it seemed. That was his junior year. Coming to the realisation that over the course of the summer vacation everyone around him had grown up. And he hadn't changed at all. Suddenly the guy who had been the centre of life at school, found himself an outcast.

It wasn't any of their faults though; the people standing Infront of Aaron. He wasn't even sure if it was entirely his fault. More a product of circumstance. That was why the tragic death of Alison didn't affect Aaron in the same way as others. He was on the outskirts of school life then, imposing a kind of self isolation on himself In order to protect himself. The presentation went on and Aaron didn't care much for it. If anything he was more annoyed that someone else had invaded his fortress of solitude as well. The group would eventually leave the gym, a slither at a time, until Aaron was once again left on his own. He would continue to sit there in the silence for a good twenty minutes before he began to feel the twinging of muscles in his lower back, which caused several groans of pain to escape his lips.

Reaching over to the bag he had bought with him, he pulled out his new box of tablets. Taking two out, he swallowed them dry with zero liquids. The whole event had forced him to miss his tablet taking time by thirty minutes, so now he was in pain and he had to go home. With several heavy grunts, and one failed attempt, Aaron found himself on his feet. He took his first few steps forward, the first five or so we're always the most awkward. His damaged leg always struggled to find its rhythm.when he started walking. It would eventually even up and Aaron was back to his normal shuffle. He has considered going to investigate the audio visual setup. Perhaps it would reveal who had been sneaking in to set all of this up. However that would mean staying here longer. Aaron wasn't sure he wanted that.

So instead, Aaron shuffled out the way he came and left out through the gym door to the outside world. He wasn't sure of the status of people who had decided to go investigate, unsure if they were even on the school grounds anymore. They could handle themselves however. Aaron wasn't worried. Darkness had started to take over the Edenridge sky and now Aaron needed to get home safely. He already has his route planned. He had come up with a route that used shortcuts, small gaps in trees and other assorted alleyways, to build up a rapid route from his house to the school and vice versa where he was as hidden as he could be. That way he could avoid the general public and avoid any gang members who could make his life a living hell.

Still he wasn't exactly the biggest fan of the dark. It was far easier to be ambushed. Not that it mattered though. Aaron wouldn't be able to properly defend himself even if they came upto him and declared their intentions in broad daylight. Thankfully the journey home was safe and quiet. Just painful. It took him a solid forty minutes to get home and by that time the darkness had truly settled in for the night. His mother would still be at the diner, not she back until about midnight when she was relieved by some out of town uni student who agreed to do graveyard shifts on low pay.

Aaron hobbled into his bedroom and laydown on the bed. He couldn't be bothered with taking his clothes off. That would cause way too much pain. So instead he just stared at the ceiling. Someone was going around and digging up the past of Edenridge. Was it just the Alison event they were going through? Or were they going to start digging up the past year by year? If that was the case…. A dry lump formed in the centre of his non-vocalising throat…. Don't think about it. Just forget about it. It will be fine. You will be fine.

Welcome. I am guessing DinoDino is also your account?
Hi all,

Long story short, a pal of mine and I have decided we'd like to try our hand at a Firefly RPG. After nosing around a bit, we're looking at the Casual RP section and have a show ad all polished and pretty (with blinky lights, too) for the Interest Checker. My question is...are we in the right place? I mean, if we put our ad up, how likely are we to be chased out of town by a pitchfork wielding mob?

But if you do...please use torches. Toreches make everything more ominous.

Thanks and HELLO!

Dan

It depends on the context. If the RPG is hosted and played here in the site. Then by all means advertise for players. However if it is hosted elsewhere, then it's a big no no.

While the idea is cool, I realized it's sensitive, please delete or lock.

Could I please change my name to RedVII?

Thanks

Regretfully that name is already taken
Greetings, I would like a namechange to: Mugiwara

Thanks in advance!

All Changed
@Vatonage Yeah, I read the rules about that! But if it’s gonna be a long wait I’ll just suggest something else in the mean time. Thanks for the heads up though, I really appreciate it! ^^

@ Whichever mod that sees this - As for the name change
I’d be good with huneykub since that’s free currently!

There we go. Changed!

The arrival of Mei and her gang had signalled to Aaron that his safe space had been compromised. There was no way he could come back here again without someone knowing where he was. Finding a new one was going to be a nightmare. While frustration was the current order of the day with Mei’s arrival, it switched to fear when Decky arrived smashing his baseball bat around. This wasn’t right. Why were they both armed? Aaron hadn’t yet clocked onto the fact that Jillian could turn her vodka bottle into a weapon at short notice.

Aaron began to very rapidly eye up everyone in the room, making sure that no one was moving towards him. Currently everyone was on the otherside of the gym, and Aaron would do whatever he could to ensure that they came nowhere near him. He still hadn’t come to any conclusions as to why these people turned up. Had they finally had enough of Aaron, decided he was guilty and decided to take justice into their own hands? Well, that fits Mei perfectly, but Decky and the others not so much. Decky could be here on the orders of ReyRey, but that doesn’t explain Mei and the bitch squad.

Things only became more confusing when they were joined by Danny, Marco, Poppy and Jade. Seeing Jade in person only caused Aaron to feel even more mixed emotions. Seeing the one girl in Edenridge he called attractive suddenly entered, caused the blonde male to get butterflies, however it was immediately squashed by the realisation that more people had arrived, when there should have been no-one but himself. Listening to Poppy talk was strange. He couldn’t quite make out what was being said, but he continued to eye his ‘no one on my side of the gym’ rule. To help him implement it, he picked up one of the old dodgeballs from a sack that he kept next to his, sometimes to use a pillow, and in times of need, a kindergarten level of defence measures. If anyone even tried to come near him, he would throw one of the balls at them. Even if he was throwing one handed… and it wasn’t his lead hand. Yeah, it wasn’t going to hit anything, but at least it should scare people off.

Poppy's words however did not really compute with Aaron. Something was missing here. There was something they all knew that Aaron didn’t. Maybe they weren’t here to put him on trial and execute him. But Aaron sure as hell couldn’t work out what the real reason was behind this evening reunion. Roddy and Lanie arriving caused Aaron to panic further. This wasn’t right. People who should never be in the same room, were. Right now it should have looked like a Royal Rumble, but everyone looked just as tense as Aaron was. He lowered his throwing arm slightly, so he didn’t look as threatening, well, as threatening as you can be when holding a dodgeball.

This would be the point where a normal person would say: ‘What the Fuck is going on in here?’. However Aaron didn’t have that avenue open to him. He couldn’t engage in conversation with his former classmates and trust him, he had tried. His tongue was pressing against his upper bridge, but no amount of air being pushed through was causing a sound to appear. His only hope was to look as confused as a deer caught in the headlights, which to be fair, wasn’t exactly as difficult as it sounded for Aaron. He needed to know why everyone thought it was funny to invade his personal space.
Having just found out that there actually is a way to change one's username and that my title is pretty pointless (fully on me for not realizing sooner), I'd really appreciate if someone could change my username to:
