Writing Example(s)
She was running. That's all she knew in that moment. One moment, she was having a nice relaxing bath, the next she was running through the woods butt naked, wondering how the hell she got there. Had she been drugged? Was the rest of her family okay? Where was she running to? She stopped after a few minutes of running, her mind racing with what to do. She hadn't seen a single damn building out here. Her next thought went to who would do this? Why would they do this? And where the hell were they now.
She continued walking, her feet cut by the forest floor and raw by now. Every step was painful, every step was starting to feel like her last. She wasn't built for this, for survival out in the woods with nothing but her birthday suit to protect her. She was going to die out here. As the thought hit her, she stopped, dead in her tracks and plopped down onto her knees to cry, sobbing after a moment.
Her tears pulled the attention of a man, just within earshot, who.. at first thought she might be some ghost. But against his better nature, walked closer to investigate. He hadn't planned on veering off course today, his mother would have surely punished him but he couldn't help his curiosity. It wasn't every day that the prince of his fair kingdom got the chance to explore out on his own like this, nevermind the fact that he'd slipped out unawares...
He approached the sound, still fully convinced he was going to be attacked by some foul witch or ghost trying to coax him closer, when he spotted her. She was hunched over in the grass and... completely naked?! He blinked, not really fully believing his eyes. But he couldn't stop his feet from getting closer from, trying to help her.
"..Miss? Are you okay?"
A fearsome king and loyal lover, Cuprite stands tall as the Leader of the Wildshape. For all it's inhabitants that come from every walk of life, every corner of the world, he fights to protect and improve their lives. He is not a dragon to take his work and role lightly and expects as much from his future offspring.
His best friend growing up was a dragon called Ambrose, a very energetic Pearlcatcher dragon. It was mostly unknown to him the animosity between the two breeds, but it became very apparent when he told his parents about his new friend, only be told to stop spending time with him. That only made the young dragon want to see his friend more. He needed to know what was so bad about his breed that his parents would openly demand he stop seeing him. Ambrose also had no idea as to why the two breeds had such disdain for each other.
"Why would anyone hate a Pearlcatcher? I think your pearls are really cool." Cuprite told his friend one day, huffing a bit at the idea of being mean just because of his breed. "Why wouldn't I think they're cool?"
"I'm not sure, honestly. I don't get why so many of my kind don't like yours. I asked my aunt and she said it's jealousy." Ambrose returned, shoulders shrugging apathetically.
"Well... I'm not jealous of any of the pearlcatchers! I think it's stupid to think like that." Cuprite huffed indignantly.
"And I'm not jealous of you. I can't really even think of a reason why I would be, you know?" Ambrose returned. "But... what can we do about other people? Not much."
"Well, when I'm older, I'm going to make my own clan where things like that don't matter. Where everyone is treated equally. I can't change everyone's way of thinking, but if you and I can think like this, the surely others can!" Cuprite huffed, sure of himself as he puffed his chest out. Nevermind the fact that he had no idea what it would take to lead a clan himself.
"That sounds nice... but I wonder if it's possible..." Ambrose sighed.
"Of course it is! Anything is possible if you put your mind to it."
Despite Cuprite's reassurances, he wasn't able to convince his friend to join him when he left their clan. The only person willing to join him was his sister, Raira. She was more than willing to leave, more out of a desire to be free from her parents than anything. Ambrose not joining him, didn't deter the young dragon. As soon as he was old enough to really grow into his wings, he approached his father and let him know of his intentions. As expected, the older dragon was none to happy to hear this, but respected his son's wishes. His mother, however, was less than happy and made several attempts over the course of Cuprite's preparations to leave to stop him and his sister.
Unable to sway Cuprite or Raira to stay, the two left and set off to find a space for their clan. They settled on the branches of the Behemoth, who branches held the Gladebough Village. Cuprite and his sister met their respective mates here among the other clans and convinced them to join them. Since then, they have welcomed dragons into their growing community. Cuprite rules their clan as "King" with a firm hand and a gentle voice. He allows dragons to enter freely and leave freely.
Dragons do have to be approved by his now trusted Advisors, a pair of Wildclaw dragons that had more than proven their worth protecting Cuprite and his family in the underbrush below the Behemoth. Amore and Aconite became a part of the Advisory Council that helped approve the acceptance of new dragons into their clan by helping them find a job/role within the community. Amore takes a larger role in helping to train old and new adult dragons to defend themselves along with his mate, Aconite.
Raira and her husband, Bercilak also help in guiding the community on the Advisory Council. Raira spends her time with her husband answering the questions of the clan in her brother's place so that Cuprite may spend his days working with other clan's leaders to build diplomatic influence for their clan and create healthy relationships with their neighbors.
One day, while taking a stroll through the forest with his mate, Cuprite noticed a small tuft of bright green fur poking out from the bush. It wiggled a bit as he approached. He called out softly, "Hello?"
His mate, Eden, perked her head up, now seeing the odd looking hair as well. And just as soon as she took a step to get closer, it seemed to pop out at her. She was about to lift a paw to claw at it in defense, when Cuprite lifted a paw to stop her.
The bright green tuft of hair had gotten herself stuck in a mess of tangled sticks and bramble. Her big bright pinks looked up at him and they swirled with an intense arcane energy. All he could think of was that it must have been painful, having so much magical energy in such a small body. Leaning down, Cuprite, gave the small deer looking creature a cursory sniff before moving to help her out of the brambles.
She huffed and stomped her hooves in protest, even though she knew deep down he was only trying to help her. Once freed, however, she pranced around him in glee, bounding cheerfully.
"That feels better, hm?" He chuckled, watching her until it made him feel dizzy. She paused for a moment, those big pink eyes watching him before she took a few steps closer to him, tentatively. Taking it as an invitation, Cuprite, bent his head down to her, to be a bit more on her level. At this, she slowly pressed forward until their noses touched.
Pink sparks seemed to literally fly in the space between their snouts, and Cuprite felt something shoot down his spine. His heart felt warm and suddenly he could her a voice...
"Hello? Hello? Can you hear me?"
The voice was soft, gentle and sounded very much like a young hatchling might.
"Yes... I can hear you..."
"Oh! Oh! Joy! That brings me so much joy! I think I would have been in those brambles forever if you hadn't come along." She chuckled, seeming to grin to herself. Her blue fur seemed to shimmer even more in the light of the sun as she stepped into a patch of sunlight.
"And you are...?" He asked, chuckling again.
"Hm? Me? I.. To be honest, I'm not sure what I am! I just.. woke up and started wandering around. And then I got stuck.. and then I met you!"
"My love... Just who exactly are you talking to?" Eden asked, a worried expression turning on her face as she watched him.
"Hm? You can't hear her?" He asked, confused.
"Oh, only you can! I'm your spirideer now!" She started, blinking for a moment. "Oh... I guess that just came to me... weird... But anyway, I bonded to you! Well, our hearts did." She explained, making a quick spin as sparkles of magic floated around her.
"My... Spirideer?" Cuprite started, blinking a bit. He hadn't expected a new companion today, much less one that bonded to him... But, here he was.
Raira had always been a free spirit. From the moment she was born, she had been contrary to her parents. It wasn't as if she lived to disagree with them, but she certainly had a mind of her own and nothing anyone said could dissuade her from doing what she wanted to do. Stubborn to a fault. The last thing Raira ever wanted was to be in charge of an entire clan but despite that, when given the opportunity to leave her little Lightning Clan to explore the greater world with her brother, she took it. Though, she hadn't anticipated he'd settle them down so quickly...
She still hasn't really forgiven him for that and regularly leaves the community to explore on her own. If asked, she'd explain that there was something inside of her, something that vibrated with an intensity she couldn't explain and the only solution was to fly free and explore at her own pace.
Raira didn't have many friends growing up, but the one she had was the truest friend she'd ever had. Pache, a male Fae dragon who despite being hard for her to understand, had become her closest friend and confidant. She could tell him anything and he would always listen with eyes that seemed to always understand her feelings. She'd often sneak him into her nest to hang out with her, since he was small enough to hide in her wings. The only person who knew about Pache was her brother Cuprite, who despite not understanding how she could understand or communicate with Pache respected her relationship with him.
Raira remembers a humorous moment when Pache and Cuprite misunderstood each other.
"...What? Why are you doing that?" Cuprite asked, his eyes narrowing as he watched the small white Fae dragon flutter around him, bouncing up and down from the ground wildly, his head frills moving and undulating.
"Raira!" The smaller dragon called, his voice high-pitched but utterly monotone.
"What about her?" Cuprite asked again.
"Birth! Birth!" Pache cried out, still trilling frantically.
"What?!" He asked, blinking. "Are you trying to say Raira has laid eggs? That's not even possible! She's too young!" He started, now frantic. "Oh god, how would we explain this to mother? Should we tell her? Do we have to?" Cuprite mumbled to himself, mind churning.
Pache visibly deflated a bit before starting back up again. By the time Pache spoke again, Cuprite was already running to find Raira. "Birth day! Birth dayyyy!" He cried out after the larger dragon.
Cuprite had found Raira by that point and a rather humorous exchange took place in which her brother, face impossibly red, tried to ask her if she had laid any eggs recently. Which had, in fact, prompted a rather red face from her as well. They had a rather long conversation about trying to learn how to properly read Pache's frills but that certainly wasn't the only time Cuprite and Pache had misunderstood each other.
When Raira arrived at the Gladebough Village, she met an incredibly handsome and sweet Imperial Dragon whom she fell instantly in love with. She spent the first few months they were in the village, following him around, trying to impress him with both her physical prowess and intelligence. He didn't seem interested at all at first. He often scoffed silently and turned his nose up at her, walking away. But after months of trying and trying, Raira was a few steps away from giving up on him completely when he actually responded to her.
"Bercilak! I found a pretty stone while hunting near the river that I wanted to show you." Raira called out, grinning as she dropped the stone at his table, where he was reading a scroll on the history of fighting tactics used by Ice dragons. She half expected him to completely ignore her and was ready after waiting a moment to pick the stone back up and turn away.
She watched him look up from his scroll, however, head raising just slightly as he looked at the stone. "It is.. very pretty.." He mumbled, glancing her away for the briefest of moments before looking back at his book.
From then on, Raira never left Bercilak alone and it seemed as though the younger dragon didn't mind. The true turning point in their relationship, however, came on a hunt Bercilak had accompanied Raira, her brother, and her brother's mate, Eden. The four were prowling the groves below the village. Eden and Cuprite split off, Raira assumed to go have some alone time. The thought alone made her incredibly jealous and she stuck her tongue out after her brother before continuing on. As she walked, however, she heard the roar of a dire claw.
It swiped at her and she barely managed to dodge out of the way. It felt as if everything moved in slow motion. The leaves in the trees seemed to still as she watched Bercilak leap out in front of her, fighting with the bear. He was severely wounded, but the young dragon did manage to hold his ground against the bear long enough for it to tire of them and run off. Worried, Raira raced to his side.
"Bercy, are you okay? Oh my goodness... Oh no... What am I going to do.." She cried out, tears streaming down her face. In her mind, his wounds had to be fatal, she just knew it.
"Calm down, little one..." He replied, his voice soft and even toned. It sounded as if he wasn't even hurt. Which, Raira had to admit had bolstered her mood considerably. Tears still streamed down her face but now, she felt like he would be okay, that it would be okay.
"Let me go get Cuprite!" She called out, starting to get up. She was stopped by Bercilak, who had grabbed her leg and pulled her back.
"Stay... He'll come back to check on us and I don't want you to be alone out there..." He grumbled, voice deep and now tinged with obvious pain. Raira could feel her heart breaking for him but she stayed with him, doing what she could. Cuprite did eventually find them and rush to help his sister get Bercilak back to the village for healing.
Since that moment, a sort of unspoken bond formed between Raira and Bercilak and they became mates despite never asking one another. Because of this incident, Raira spends a lot of her time researching healing salves and healing magic so that she never has to feel that helpless again.
I wont be able to do the RP, my computers charging port just broke so I am running on the last of the charge letting people know what's going on. Sorry, this seemed like it was going to be one of the best RPs I was going to be in. I'll check up on things once the new one comes in, in a week... or three...
You can always pop back in when you get here. I'll keep Hunter up on the Cast list so that when you return he can come back. However, he will have to come in as an 'outsider' since that's the only easy way I can get him in later on. The group will just have to happen across him. Thank you very, VERY much for letting me know however. Not many people do that. :)

Since there is an opening now, I'll be letting someone else in. Remipa will always be welcome, but in the meantime, might as well let someone else in. But it's really hard to choose between the two characters. While we seem to have combat down, it would also be nice to see someone from the military join the group. However, on the same side, it would be nice to have a busy-body motherly type character.
I'll just go ahead and give you each a chance to change your sheet if you'd like after I give my two cents.
The woman in your image doesn't really look 20. Or like she belongs in 2015, which is around the time the RP will be taking place. I mean, it's not 2015, probably more like 2012, but somewhere in that area. I'll just go ahead and call it 2014. :P
But she looks like she belongs in like... the 70s or something. So, I'd first recommend a more modern image for her. If you need help finding one, I'm pretty handy with a search engine. (And I'm the master of image hunting on Pinterest among other things.)
I'd also recommend making her older, if you like. I tried to make Jack older simply because I knew people would tend to stick to the 20s for this RP. Some old people would be nice. And by old, I mean like... 30s or 40s. I don't really mean like... Hershel's age. :P
Other than that, I like it. And you reminded even me that I put that into the Rules section. xD My favorite videogame character is Midna. :P
I'm pretty picky when it comes to images and I know I'm not perfect. But something about that picture doesn't speak 'Army' to me. -shrugs- You're welcome to keep it, however. That was just me... being me. >.>;
The personality is rather bland. What makes her different from other people? Does she ever get super emotional? Is she sassy? reserved? I know it says she doesn't say much, but it just makes her seem really... flat as a character. And I can forsee a lot of problems for you with character interaction. A lot of people like to create the distant character but often find themselves digging their own RP grave because they're character won't actively seek interaction and can easily get left behind or ignored. If you want interaction, make a character that can more easily start interactions between them and another character.
I'll give you guys a bit to make any edits you'd like to make. In a while, I'll come back and make my choice. :P
(Please don't feel too bad if you don't get picked. I wanted this to be a small group RP. And I'd like to stick by what I said. Even though they are both very interesting characters.)
So, I'm trying to decide and some help would be useful.
I already have Ama but she has a few flaws within the Gem lore mostly because of the way I built her. However, her character Archetype stays the same. She is the 'Earth' female. Meaning that she is gentle but strong. Though, I guess that more fits with a Water Gem... I might change her element to Water. But ye. Gentle and stubborn, Ama is willing to stick things out and can take a lot of hits without losing her will.
However, I'm also thinking about another character who would be less strong willed and more... uhh... easily frightened? She'll sort of be the young doe of the group. She'd be the complete opposite of Ama.
I'm also not opposed to RP both characters provided they are not both with the same Drakken. -shrugs-
I may end up just sticking with Ama if I can't have them both. -walks away mumbling-

Not completely. I'd like for everyone to look at each others CS and decide how each character might feel about the other. It'd probably be best just to discuss this among one another. What I'm going to do is make a small relationship sheet with each characters name and a snip of how my character feels about them. I encourage you all to do the same. Then, if we want to, we can talk about how that would effect how each character interacts with one another and maybe decide on some particular stories of things that happened to them in the past that would flesh them out as a group and give them some background.

I'll start here with Lacy.
Hunter Monroe - "He can be a bit pushy and well... irritating but over all, he's not a bad guy. He's terrible with music though... I just wished I could find a piano so I could show him what it should sound like. But, then I might just be getting a big head... He's good with a gun though, which I suppose is why he's survived this long. He's saved my hide plenty of times and I'm sure he'll save it more to come. I just wish my brother would lighten up on him..."
Dabriah Sauagius - "I wish she'd just admit we're friends already. She's so distant, it's unfair. I guess I just can't get past how well she can see through people. It's like she doesn't look at you, she looks through you, at all the things you'd rather tie up and hide away from the world. Which, honestly... makes me resent her a bit. She's another one that I wish would just lighten up and well... be a friend. It's the end of the world, we should have a little bit of fun where we can, right? I'd call her a friend but mostly because I don't have too many of those these days so I'll hold on to the ones I can call friends, even if they might not be. Still, again, she saved my hide many times, something I can never repay her for."
Lacy Carter - "Oh, uh... that's me, ain't it? I mean... I'm pretty average. I'm not very good at combat with those... things but I'm gettin' better. Maybe one day, I won't need so much protectin'. Still, I like to think that I'm the comforter in the group. Even if they yell at me a lot for singin' and carryin' on. I'm pretty sure Edward's caught me dancing near our campsites a while back. He never said anything about it though. Not sure why... Though, I know that Jack's made it pretty clear I'm not one to be messed with. Maybe that's why he never said anything?"
Jack Carter - "Well, that's my big brother. Hehe, he's gettin' old! Don't tell him I said that, though. I'm sure he'd smack me for sure! Hmm... What to say about Jack... He's always been there for me even if his cookin' is atrocious. He can be a bit over bearing at times and he often does really bad things just to keep me safe. Which is why I often try not to get into trouble. Doesn't always work, though. I've always seen Jack as the person I can trust the most and the person that I can rely on the most. When I'm sad, his hugs are what keep me going. When I'm down, his jokes are what pull me out of it. When I'm angry, his gentle nudge wakes me up. The perfect older brother."
Edward Richter - "Hmm... I'm not so sure about Edward. He seems laid back and carefree but I've seen him get really emotional once. It sort of took me by surprise and I'm not sure if I was the only one to see it. He makes a lot of jokes and lays around a lot, not really contributing to the rest of the work load. I mean, at least Jack tries to help with the laundry. Even though I usually just shoo him away 'cause he does it wrong. He will often ask me questions I don't know the answer to which promptly causes me to leave where he is to find someone else to talk to. I've never been one for the hard questions. I guess I'm just bad like that. Grandpa always got mad at me about that. Edward likes to wander off too. It sucks because sometimes he leaves right before I call for dinner! I'm not a bad cook...Maybe Riley should just cook all the time. I'm probably just useless."
Riley Vega - "At first, Riley just sort of scared me. She gives off that, 'Don't talk to me, ever.' attitude and most of the time I listen to those. However, as time went on I talked to her more and more and found that she's actually not that bad. In fact, I love gettin' to spend time with her when we cook and set up the tents and stuff. I mean, I know everyone else sets up the tents to, but I do enjoy spendin' time with her now. She's been teachin' me a lot about cookin' and stuff. Plus, she closer to my age than anyone else. Jack's my brother and all, but I need someone my age to hang out with!"
If anyone wants to dispute what I wrote there, feel free. I'll change whatever. I just wrote what I did to get a good starting point. If I referenced an event that you think your character wouldn't have done, let me know. I can change it to however they might have reacted. I.E. If Edward really would have said something to Lacy or if Riley wouldn't have opened up to Lacy so easily. Just let me know. Once these are done, I'll post up an intro post.
I'd just rather we have all of this stuff sorted out before the RP actually starts so we aren't fumbling around in the dark concerning what happened from when the group met up to when they come up to the hospital. Which, if you didn't know, Central State has been abandoned for a very long time. So, not many walkers will be in that area because not many people were there when shit hit the fan.
...Ye! I'll get Jack's up in a bit. I'm a bit drained just from Lacy's. :P I'll probably have him up by tonight. And then if we get a few of them in tomorrow, we can start up the IC. I apologize for the wait but I'd like to get this settled before we start and we needed all of the characters before we could really get this relationship business started. So just try to make a list of the character and a little paragraph or so about how your character feels about that character.
Maria sort of just pushed him through and left. She's not with him anymore. He's currently waiting at the docks for the group to arrive. Lol. He could have landed in the water for all Maria knows.

She was running. That's all she knew in that moment. One moment, she was having a nice relaxing bath, the next she was running through the woods butt naked, wondering how the hell she got there. Had she been drugged? Was the rest of her family okay? Where was she running to? She stopped after a few minutes of running, her mind racing with what to do. She hadn't seen a single damn building out here. Her next thought went to who would do this? Why would they do this? And where the hell were they now.
She continued walking, her feet cut by the forest floor and raw by now. Every step was painful, every step was starting to feel like her last. She wasn't built for this, for survival out in the woods with nothing but her birthday suit to protect her. She was going to die out here. As the thought hit her, she stopped, dead in her tracks and plopped down onto her knees to cry, sobbing after a moment.
Her tears pulled the attention of a man, just within earshot, who.. at first thought she might be some ghost. But against his better nature, walked closer to investigate. He hadn't planned on veering off course today, his mother would have surely punished him but he couldn't help his curiosity. It wasn't every day that the prince of his fair kingdom got the chance to explore out on his own like this, nevermind the fact that he'd slipped out unawares...
He approached the sound, still fully convinced he was going to be attacked by some foul witch or ghost trying to coax him closer, when he spotted her. She was hunched over in the grass and... completely naked?! He blinked, not really fully believing his eyes. But he couldn't stop his feet from getting closer from, trying to help her.
"..Miss? Are you okay?"

A fearsome king and loyal lover, Cuprite stands tall as the Leader of the Wildshape. For all it's inhabitants that come from every walk of life, every corner of the world, he fights to protect and improve their lives. He is not a dragon to take his work and role lightly and expects as much from his future offspring.
His best friend growing up was a dragon called Ambrose, a very energetic Pearlcatcher dragon. It was mostly unknown to him the animosity between the two breeds, but it became very apparent when he told his parents about his new friend, only be told to stop spending time with him. That only made the young dragon want to see his friend more. He needed to know what was so bad about his breed that his parents would openly demand he stop seeing him. Ambrose also had no idea as to why the two breeds had such disdain for each other.
"Why would anyone hate a Pearlcatcher? I think your pearls are really cool." Cuprite told his friend one day, huffing a bit at the idea of being mean just because of his breed. "Why wouldn't I think they're cool?"
"I'm not sure, honestly. I don't get why so many of my kind don't like yours. I asked my aunt and she said it's jealousy." Ambrose returned, shoulders shrugging apathetically.
"Well... I'm not jealous of any of the pearlcatchers! I think it's stupid to think like that." Cuprite huffed indignantly.
"And I'm not jealous of you. I can't really even think of a reason why I would be, you know?" Ambrose returned. "But... what can we do about other people? Not much."
"Well, when I'm older, I'm going to make my own clan where things like that don't matter. Where everyone is treated equally. I can't change everyone's way of thinking, but if you and I can think like this, the surely others can!" Cuprite huffed, sure of himself as he puffed his chest out. Nevermind the fact that he had no idea what it would take to lead a clan himself.
"That sounds nice... but I wonder if it's possible..." Ambrose sighed.
"Of course it is! Anything is possible if you put your mind to it."
Despite Cuprite's reassurances, he wasn't able to convince his friend to join him when he left their clan. The only person willing to join him was his sister, Raira. She was more than willing to leave, more out of a desire to be free from her parents than anything. Ambrose not joining him, didn't deter the young dragon. As soon as he was old enough to really grow into his wings, he approached his father and let him know of his intentions. As expected, the older dragon was none to happy to hear this, but respected his son's wishes. His mother, however, was less than happy and made several attempts over the course of Cuprite's preparations to leave to stop him and his sister.
Unable to sway Cuprite or Raira to stay, the two left and set off to find a space for their clan. They settled on the branches of the Behemoth, who branches held the Gladebough Village. Cuprite and his sister met their respective mates here among the other clans and convinced them to join them. Since then, they have welcomed dragons into their growing community. Cuprite rules their clan as "King" with a firm hand and a gentle voice. He allows dragons to enter freely and leave freely.
Dragons do have to be approved by his now trusted Advisors, a pair of Wildclaw dragons that had more than proven their worth protecting Cuprite and his family in the underbrush below the Behemoth. Amore and Aconite became a part of the Advisory Council that helped approve the acceptance of new dragons into their clan by helping them find a job/role within the community. Amore takes a larger role in helping to train old and new adult dragons to defend themselves along with his mate, Aconite.
Raira and her husband, Bercilak also help in guiding the community on the Advisory Council. Raira spends her time with her husband answering the questions of the clan in her brother's place so that Cuprite may spend his days working with other clan's leaders to build diplomatic influence for their clan and create healthy relationships with their neighbors.[/hider]

One day, while taking a stroll through the forest with his mate, Cuprite noticed a small tuft of bright green fur poking out from the bush. It wiggled a bit as he approached. He called out softly, "Hello?"
His mate, Eden, perked her head up, now seeing the odd looking hair as well. And just as soon as she took a step to get closer, it seemed to pop out at her. She was about to lift a paw to claw at it in defense, when Cuprite lifted a paw to stop her.
The bright green tuft of hair had gotten herself stuck in a mess of tangled sticks and bramble. Her big bright pinks looked up at him and they swirled with an intense arcane energy. All he could think of was that it must have been painful, having so much magical energy in such a small body. Leaning down, Cuprite, gave the small deer looking creature a cursory sniff before moving to help her out of the brambles.
She huffed and stomped her hooves in protest, even though she knew deep down he was only trying to help her. Once freed, however, she pranced around him in glee, bounding cheerfully.
"That feels better, hm?" He chuckled, watching her until it made him feel dizzy. She paused for a moment, those big pink eyes watching him before she took a few steps closer to him, tentatively. Taking it as an invitation, Cuprite, bent his head down to her, to be a bit more on her level. At this, she slowly pressed forward until their noses touched.
Pink sparks seemed to literally fly in the space between their snouts, and Cuprite felt something shoot down his spine. His heart felt warm and suddenly he could her a voice...
"Hello? Hello? Can you hear me?"
The voice was soft, gentle and sounded very much like a young hatchling might.
"Yes... I can hear you..."
"Oh! Oh! Joy! That brings me so much joy! I think I would have been in those brambles forever if you hadn't come along." She chuckled, seeming to grin to herself. Her blue fur seemed to shimmer even more in the light of the sun as she stepped into a patch of sunlight.
"And you are...?" He asked, chuckling again.
"Hm? Me? I.. To be honest, I'm not sure what I am! I just.. woke up and started wandering around. And then I got stuck.. and then I met you!"
"My love... Just who exactly are you talking to?" Eden asked, a worried expression turning on her face as she watched him.
"Hm? You can't hear her?" He asked, confused.
"Oh, only you can! I'm your spirideer now!" She started, blinking for a moment. "Oh... I guess that just came to me... weird... But anyway, I bonded to you! Well, our hearts did." She explained, making a quick spin as sparkles of magic floated around her.
"My... Spirideer?" Cuprite started, blinking a bit. He hadn't expected a new companion today, much less one that bonded to him... But, here he was.

Raira had always been a free spirit. From the moment she was born, she had been contrary to her parents. It wasn't as if she lived to disagree with them, but she certainly had a mind of her own and nothing anyone said could dissuade her from doing what she wanted to do. Stubborn to a fault. The last thing Raira ever wanted was to be in charge of an entire clan but despite that, when given the opportunity to leave her little Lightning Clan to explore the greater world with her brother, she took it. Though, she hadn't anticipated he'd settle them down so quickly...
She still hasn't really forgiven him for that and regularly leaves the community to explore on her own. If asked, she'd explain that there was something inside of her, something that vibrated with an intensity she couldn't explain and the only solution was to fly free and explore at her own pace.
Raira didn't have many friends growing up, but the one she had was the truest friend she'd ever had. Pache, a male Fae dragon who despite being hard for her to understand, had become her closest friend and confidant. She could tell him anything and he would always listen with eyes that seemed to always understand her feelings. She'd often sneak him into her nest to hang out with her, since he was small enough to hide in her wings. The only person who knew about Pache was her brother Cuprite, who despite not understanding how she could understand or communicate with Pache respected her relationship with him.
Raira remembers a humorous moment when Pache and Cuprite misunderstood each other.
"...What? Why are you doing that?" Cuprite asked, his eyes narrowing as he watched the small white Fae dragon flutter around him, bouncing up and down from the ground wildly, his head frills moving and undulating.
"Raira!" The smaller dragon called, his voice high-pitched but utterly monotone.
"What about her?" Cuprite asked again.
"Birth! Birth!" Pache cried out, still trilling frantically.
"What?!" He asked, blinking. "Are you trying to say Raira has laid eggs? That's not even possible! She's too young!" He started, now frantic. "Oh god, how would we explain this to mother? Should we tell her? Do we have to?" Cuprite mumbled to himself, mind churning.
Pache visibly deflated a bit before starting back up again. By the time Pache spoke again, Cuprite was already running to find Raira. "Birth day! Birth dayyyy!" He cried out after the larger dragon.
Cuprite had found Raira by that point and a rather humorous exchange took place in which her brother, face impossibly red, tried to ask her if she had laid any eggs recently. Which had, in fact, prompted a rather red face from her as well. They had a rather long conversation about trying to learn how to properly read Pache's frills but that certainly wasn't the only time Cuprite and Pache had misunderstood each other.
When Raira arrived at the Gladebough Village, she met an incredibly handsome and sweet Imperial Dragon whom she fell instantly in love with. She spent the first few months they were in the village, following him around, trying to impress him with both her physical prowess and intelligence. He didn't seem interested at all at first. He often scoffed silently and turned his nose up at her, walking away. But after months of trying and trying, Raira was a few steps away from giving up on him completely when he actually responded to her.
"Bercilak! I found a pretty stone while hunting near the river that I wanted to show you." Raira called out, grinning as she dropped the stone at his table, where he was reading a scroll on the history of fighting tactics used by Ice dragons. She half expected him to completely ignore her and was ready after waiting a moment to pick the stone back up and turn away.
She watched him look up from his scroll, however, head raising just slightly as he looked at the stone. "It is.. very pretty.." He mumbled, glancing her away for the briefest of moments before looking back at his book.
From then on, Raira never left Bercilak alone and it seemed as though the younger dragon didn't mind. The true turning point in their relationship, however, came on a hunt Bercilak had accompanied Raira, her brother, and her brother's mate, Eden. The four were prowling the groves below the village. Eden and Cuprite split off, Raira assumed to go have some alone time. The thought alone made her incredibly jealous and she stuck her tongue out after her brother before continuing on. As she walked, however, she heard the roar of a dire claw.
It swiped at her and she barely managed to dodge out of the way. It felt as if everything moved in slow motion. The leaves in the trees seemed to still as she watched Bercilak leap out in front of her, fighting with the bear. He was severely wounded, but the young dragon did manage to hold his ground against the bear long enough for it to tire of them and run off. Worried, Raira raced to his side.
"Bercy, are you okay? Oh my goodness... Oh no... What am I going to do.." She cried out, tears streaming down her face. In her mind, his wounds had to be fatal, she just knew it.
"Calm down, little one..." He replied, his voice soft and even toned. It sounded as if he wasn't even hurt. Which, Raira had to admit had bolstered her mood considerably. Tears still streamed down her face but now, she felt like he would be okay, that it would be okay.
"Let me go get Cuprite!" She called out, starting to get up. She was stopped by Bercilak, who had grabbed her leg and pulled her back.
"Stay... He'll come back to check on us and I don't want you to be alone out there..." He grumbled, voice deep and now tinged with obvious pain. Raira could feel her heart breaking for him but she stayed with him, doing what she could. Cuprite did eventually find them and rush to help his sister get Bercilak back to the village for healing.
Since that moment, a sort of unspoken bond formed between Raira and Bercilak and they became mates despite never asking one another. Because of this incident, Raira spends a lot of her time researching healing salves and healing magic so that she never has to feel that helpless again.

The smaller dragon called, his voice high-pitched but utterly monotone.<br><br>"What about her?" Cuprite asked again.<br><br>"Birth! Birth!" Pache cried out, still trilling frantically.<br><br>"What?!" He asked, blinking. "Are you trying to say Raira has laid eggs? That's not even possible! She's too young!" He started, now frantic. "Oh god, how would we explain this to mother? Should we tell her? Do we have to?" Cuprite mumbled to himself, mind churning.<br><br>Pache visibly deflated a bit before starting back up again. By the time Pache spoke again, Cuprite was already running to find Raira. "Birth day! Birth dayyyy!" He cried out after the larger dragon.<br><br>Cuprite had found Raira by that point and a rather humorous exchange took place in which her brother, face impossibly red, tried to ask her if she had laid any eggs recently. Which had, in fact, prompted a rather red face from her as well. They had a rather long conversation about trying to learn how to properly read Pache's frills but that certainly wasn't the only time Cuprite and Pache had misunderstood each other.<br><br>When Raira arrived at the Gladebough Village, she met an incredibly handsome and sweet Imperial Dragon whom she fell instantly in love with. She spent the first few months they were in the village, following him around, trying to impress him with both her physical prowess and intelligence. He didn't seem interested at all at first. He often scoffed silently and turned his nose up at her, walking away. But after months of trying and trying, Raira was a few steps away from giving up on him completely when he actually responded to her.<br><br>"Bercilak! I found a pretty stone while hunting near the river that I wanted to show you." Raira called out, grinning as she dropped the stone at his table, where he was reading a scroll on the history of fighting tactics used by Ice dragons. She half expected him to completely ignore her and was ready after waiting a moment to pick the stone back up and turn away.<br><br>She watched him look up from his scroll, however, head raising just slightly as he looked at the stone. "It is.. very pretty.." He mumbled, glancing her away for the briefest of moments before looking back at his book.<br><br>From then on, Raira never left Bercilak alone and it seemed as though the younger dragon didn't mind. The true turning point in their relationship, however, came on a hunt Bercilak had accompanied Raira, her brother, and her brother's mate, Eden. The four were prowling the groves below the village. Eden and Cuprite split off, Raira assumed to go have some alone time. The thought alone made her incredibly jealous and she stuck her tongue out after her brother before continuing on. As she walked, however, she heard the roar of a dire claw.<br><br>It swiped at her and she barely managed to dodge out of the way. It felt as if everything moved in slow motion. The leaves in the trees seemed to still as she watched Bercilak leap out in front of her, fighting with the bear. He was severely wounded, but the young dragon did manage to hold his ground against the bear long enough for it to tire of them and run off. Worried, Raira raced to his side.<br><br>"Bercy, are you okay? Oh my goodness... Oh no... What am I going to do.." She cried out, tears streaming down her face. In her mind, his wounds had to be fatal, she just knew it.<br><br>"Calm down, little one..." He replied, his voice soft and even toned. It sounded as if he wasn't even hurt. Which, Raira had to admit had bolstered her mood considerably. Tears still streamed down her face but now, she felt like he would be okay, that it would be okay.<br><br>"Let me go get Cuprite!" She called out, starting to get up. She was stopped by Bercilak, who had grabbed her leg and pulled her back.<br><br>"Stay... He'll come back to check on us and I don't want you to be alone out there..." He grumbled, voice deep and now tinged with obvious pain. Raira could feel her heart breaking for him but she stayed with him, doing what she could. Cuprite did eventually find them and rush to help his sister get Bercilak back to the village for healing.<br><br>Since that moment, a sort of unspoken bond formed between Raira and Bercilak and they became mates despite never asking one another.
