Cassius Dennis

Sitting at a stool on a boat headed for Waeldeshore, Cassius had heard of whispers and hearsay from all over the land about how Waeldeshore was going to be set aflame. Cassius being one of the more curious individuals and noting that this will hone his skill, he had set off and had gotten a trip for a fair price on a ship on it's way to trade to Waeldeshore.

The ship smelt of decay and rot filled the air, but Cassius didn't really care too much as the smell was well known to him. Breaking off his thought were apparently pirates 'taking' over the ship, with the said pirates screaming at the passengers to scream at them and get down or they will get killed. Through shrieks and screams, Cassius only sighed and pulling his sword from it's beautiful home. Three of the 'pirates' had noticed this, "YOU, DROP THAT NO-" one of them started screaming when Cassius suddenly appeared behind him, and hitting his head with the hilt knocking him out.

The other two became wide eyed when they saw the glitter of his long sword and its embellishment. "N- No way, the wandering swordsman?" the other said with a low voice, then promptly being knocked out by the blunt side of the sword. The final one swiping at his left arm but only grazing Cassius, and with a glare the third pirate dropped his sword and prostrated incoherently saying to spare his life. With another sigh, Cassius put the sword back to its holster and sat back down on his stool with the passengers just shocked and slowly started cheering and thanking him. "I don't need any thanks." he said before he started contemplating again.

Finally arriving at the port of Waeldeshore, most of the passengers had thanked him and even the sailors wanted to give back his fair price but Cassius just denied it and gave it back to them. "It's alright, just make sure to properly hand those felons to the whoever is in charge here." Placing his hood back on his head, he looked onward to Waeldeshore. Cassius raised his eyebrows to the amount of patrol and guards mugging about. So they have heard the rumors he thought to himself as a bit more blood spilled from his left arm, Damn it was deeper than I thought he continued as he began looking around for an apothecary of some kind.

Grabbing a small fabric he had in his pouch, he made a pseudo-bandage that covered the seeping wound, and again began looking for some sort healer, when he hears a threatening shout as he was walking through the docks. "Clear the fuck out." this menacing shout had caught the eye of Cassius, and he looked towards the sound and found people scattering away. After the people have all scuttled away, there were only a few individuals left, a gnome, a relatively fierce looking guy and a woman.

Not one for proper etiquette or manners, Cassius cannot read the situation properly as he stepped right above the fierce looking man and not noticing the bleeding woman and asked, "Would you people kindly point me to a nearby healer of some sort?"

Matthew Mercer

Rather suddenly, a gun toting and rather sharp tongued N.A.I.L. agent came out of the shadows, pointing her guns towards Matthew and 'Flash Bang' "Stay out of the wa-" Matthew replied before being cut off when the drone that he didn't notice suddenly exploded in a flash. Managing to cover his eyes half way, the explosion had only blinded him for half the length. With the blur of the flash still somewhat affecting him, he sees 'Flash Bang' popping something in his mouth and then becoming a pseudo-hulk.

The then pseudo-hulk started to charge towards the gun toting agent, clicking his tongue Matthew had managed to shove her out of the way and take the brunt of the attack. Matthew falls and starts rolling the opposite way the villain came, slowly getting up with a small stream of blood coming out of his mouth with him quickly wiping it off. "Matthew! Are you alright!?" the voice from his communication earpiece came, "It's fine, just some small internal damag- *cough*" he replied to the communication device. Finally catching his breath, he draws his bow back and shoots two explosive arrows towards each shoulder blade of the Villain. It sounded a 'click' and exploded, "Stay down." he said to 'it', Matthew then clutches his stomach, still reeling from the pain of getting bulldozed.
Name:
Cassius Dennis
"The Wandering Swordsman"

Race: Human

Age: 25

Gender: Male

Appearance:

Clothing/Armor:
Under his usual cloak, he wears light armor to provide some protection but not hinder his movement. His undershirt is usually chain mail, under his light armor.

Weapons:
Carries a long sword that carries a black and blue pattern on the hilt and the grip. The long sword can cut relatively well. Has a pouch that contains small throwing daggers.

Alignment:
Neutral Good

Skills/Abilities:
Being trained at a young age by his father, his proficiency over the sword is apparent, his sword prowess is so well known that people have dubbed him "The Wandering Swordsman"
He almost has below average skill in other weapons, being no better than a trained soldier in anything but a sword. His attacks are all based on speed, as his father had always told him that speed triumphs strength.

Stutter step: A movement that is very fast, it looks like a stutter blur.
Final Hour: A technique taught by his father as a last-ditch effort, it augments his speed to a very high degree that he looks like a specter. After three minutes of use, Cassius will collapse for the rest of the day.

Magic:
N/A

Backstory:
Born under the Dennis household, whose name was renowned across the land as providing the swiftest swordsmen and swordswomen. Cassius is the son of the current head of the household and his wife. At the tender age of 12, his father had begun his harsh and strict training. His father had always instilled within Cassius that speed should be priority than strength as, "In theory, if you cannot get hit, then you can't lose."

His training was rough and unloving, in contrast to his father's demeanor outside of training. For years, Cassius has had been trained by his father and his colleagues in the art of speed and the swords. It consisted of stamina, speed and sword exercises. The training usually lasted for 2/3rd's of the day with a break in between. He would also usually be forced to spar with opponents slightly stronger than him, so that he would be unhinged and get stronger day by day.

After years of rigorous training, and at the age of 23, his father had told him to go travel and hone his skills, for he has nothing left to teach him. Thanking his father and receiving his blessings, he left and started to travel around the world, looking for strong swordsmen to hone his skills and as fate has it, he has come to Waeldeshore.
@Inertia Short and simple, concrete and nicely written. It looks great! I'm loving the diversity we have! When ever you're ready, place your cs in the characters tab and join in!

Thanks!
I felt like a longer background would have made it a tad convoluted hehe
I will join soon
@Inertia Because promises made to Stalin during the Second World War were not delivered on and it made Stalin paranoid and suspicious. The Americans in turn didn't enjoy what the Soviets did after the end of the war and their general policy of disliking Communism didn't help much either.

(Stalin asked and was promised a second front to open in 1942, he waited as more and more Russians died. Then he asked again in 1943, again the allies promised him a second front would be opened soon. More Russians died yet again, empty promises.) Some people even speculate that the allies did this on purpose to weaken both powers enough so that things would go more in their favour, yet Soviet Russia had some real ass kicking abilities.

Not counting Italy because it didn't really put much pressure on the Germans untill later. (D-Day in France.)

Edit: Stalin was already paranoid and suspicious, the allies just poured on top of that. But you can't blame him, look up Operation Unthinkable for an interesting read.

Truman too, with the secret building of the nuclear bomb.
Secret telegrams also! (Novikov's telegram and Long's telegram)
