A Bokken is used in Kendo for practice iirc ;)

Hmmm... That's a very interesting idea. I was thinking the entrancement could help him to get closer to a crowd and then BAM! Slowed perception time and bokken in hand.

Yeah this is what I was thinking, the children of the families probably are atleast acquainted with each other.
