Mahoukyo: A Tale of Three

Dunkas Marcos

Dunkas had spent most of his day like everyday following the heads daughter Whina. Today was a day where she would be going out with her friends. As a result Dunkas made sure to make himself look better then usual. At least he tried to but the fact was he was still a giant following teenagers so he was a sight wherever he went. He closed up his shirt and only took his brass knuckles in his pockets aside from his phone and wallet of course. He took a shower before he got breakfast all done by the time she woke up. Dunkas took his job seriously and wouldn't allow any harm to come to her.

His mission was from the head himself and it was to safeguard his granddaughter it was mainly to protect Whina and just keep an eye on the crazy one. He went through the day making sure to keep quiet and keep a respectable distance from her so she could have some semblance of a private life. He didn't want to upset her and ruin her day. He did care for her feelings of course, he wasn't made of stone (despite what rumors form for the contrary). When she got the call he did as well and once they were on their way to the meeting place he unbottoned his shirt once more and felt ready to add more skulls to his ever growing collection.

He went with her downstairs giving a simple nod to the owner as they went to the secret area meant for the 13th. He stood against the wall close to her as he crossed his arms and waited. The first one to come was their resident assassin. One would never assume someone that looked like a kid to be a killer and aside from his skills with guns it meant he was the perfect assassin. He simply gave a nod to him as he said his greeting. Next was the bloodhound who he remembered to be Zeke. When he asked Dunkas to button up he said "pull your pants up and I might consider it" he said since he still didn't understand why he dressed like that. At least Dunkas wore normal cloths, albeit informally.

Written Appearance(Optional): Stands at 5'4 normally of average height. He is skinny and has little to no muscle on his body. He constantly looks like he hasn't had enough sleep as dark circles are usually under his eyes. He has ocean blue eyes and ebony black hair that reaches down to his shoulder though not many would tell as he always wears a hoodie. his body almost looks brittle and sickly without proper nourishment.

Personal

Personality: Shiba lives the life of an introvert. He rarely speaks and when he does it is only because nobody understands sign language nearby or he is without his note book. He has immense knowledge thanks to his almost obsessive compulsion to read anything he can get his hands on. He will read anything from magazines to complex physics books and everything in between. He is quick to shy away from loud places and people and acts more like a scared puppy when he is around new people or places. While his friends are few and far and between he helps with whatever knowledge he can as he feels he has no other redeeming quality.

Backstory (Brief or as long as you're/I'm wanting):
Shiba had been born in the slums and had been born to an unfortunate life. His father worked hard for the family and he was a good person but that was only until his mother died of cancer. She was the anchor holding the family together and luckily Shiba was born just before it took her. He was then blamed for making his mother so weak she died. His father then blamed him for her death and became a drinker. The only thing that made him feel safe was books. His mother loved to read and as such Shiba had a small library to himself. His big sister was the sweetest person he ever knew.

Soon she was the one protecting him from his fathers drunken outbursts. He was to young to understand why he was blamed and he simply believed it. Had it not been for his sister telling him otherwise he may have killed himself. Shiba was smart and his sister got a job in order to help the family however when she left his father started to abuse him. He beat Shiba more times then he could count. However he started to hide from his sister as well so not to get her wrapped up in it. That didn't always work because she was hurt like him. At the age of 16 his sister reported abused and their father was imprisoned. They were then left under the care of Dr. Sakura and friend of their mother

For a while things were looking up. However, tragedy struck when his sister was the next one targeted by blood eyes. His guardian Dr. Kugiki Sakura did everything she could using whatever medicines she could get her hands on but it simply wasn't enough. When she died Shiba kept to himself never leaving his solitude. However he was constantly sought out by people who needed help. He considered a "consultant" to many fields from medicine, to investigation, and even science and engineering. He poured over every bit of information so he wanted to take down blood eyes, he simply had no courage to do it himself.

He is a well known and documented scientist that was known for being a physicist, astronomer, mathematician, philosopher, diplomat, poet, theologian, Jesuit priest, and a polymath from the Republic of Ragusa. He was also known as the precursor to atomic theory

You know those old Saturday morning cartoons you used to watch as a child? Where the hero and his team would always win despite how daunting the task may seem? We were so innocent back then, life was simpler and everything seemed fair. Sadly real life is anything but fair...

In the real world so much pain is normal we dig our heels and endure it for the sake of being part of society. We are told that we have no choice because we live in a world where the rich gain money from other peoples hard work, where art is a business and we buy things just to make ourselves look good, where the one who is meant to instill justice to criminals is actually the biggest criminal himself. People say that so long as you work hard you will be successful and they are the biggest lairs.

Life is unfair but that isn't why you are here. You are here because like everyone else here you resorted to being a criminal in the eyes of the world. Either for revenge, justice, a sense of duty whatever the reason may be. At first you were all victims of the infamous serial murderer blood eye they are called this because the victims eyes bleed and keep bleeding until they simply die from blood loss or infection. It is a horrendous way to go and their is no cure, the only reason you know its not a disease is because of a simple fact. Your loved one, your friend, someone you cared about, they all were given a letter signaling they were the next target. Of course they called police, called in favors, even tried leaving the country. None of these have worked and have all died the same way. Clearly the police wont do their job, are you willing to do anything to get your brand of justice or vengeance? What will happen when you discover that the killer is actually a small cog in a bigger and much darker machine...

First off thanks for reading till the end of that story :) I want to first state that this reality is something I made up save for the persona elements we will obviously be using. As a result we will be delving into new territory, I have only played Persona 5 and what little i know of the universe i learned from someone else so please don't be afraid to join if you find the idea interesting but don't know about persona in general. Keep in mind that what we will do is mostly use the information from Persona 5 which is the most recent game to my knowledge. So first off I will explain what a persona is to those that don't already know:

Persona (What is a persona?)

I will do my best to explain to my own understanding, keep in mind I am using information i have gained through said friend stated earlier and my own experience in the game. I will also provide links to each topic as I explain them.

A Persona is the manifestation of a persons inner self. We all live with a mask that we wear so we can deal with everyday life. These masks come in many forms of course and appear because we try to fit into society instead of going against it. This could be as simple as pretending to be smarter then you actually are in class or to the more extreme of blending in while having murderous impulse within a psychopath killer. However these masks are formed they are created and left deep inside our hearts where a normal person wouldn't ever reach or change.
Certain conditions need to be meet in order to even have ones mask rise to the surface. I will explain that later of course, however when one rips off their mask this is a literal sense of discarding the you that followed the rules, discarding the you that endured everything simply to fit in, and discarding of the you that you simply couldn't accept anymore. This then leads to what is known as your "persona manifestation" this causes your true self to come to the surface and fight under your command.
Their is some times known to be second awakening when you fulfill certain requirements but that will be revealed as the rp moves forward.

Next thing to understand is Arcana:

Arcana (what is this and how does it effect me?)

Arcana refers to the character themselves and is connected to a persons persona. The Arcana refer to the 22 tarot cards of the same name. The tarot or Arcana is more closely related to the person and how they act. Sometimes that Persona's fate matches that of the player character, or personality attributes, and so on, but they in some fashion need to be similar. They are big indicators of how your character acts as a person both in the real world and in the second one where your persona can manifest which will be explained another time. Think of the Arcana as a representation of your character and how they act around other people. I will write a list on the Arcana as it will be first come first serve. For now simply look through the list i will provide and make your character at the very least similar to what is described for whom you choose to be. Keep in mind that reverse tarot will be allowed.

• The fool: He who begins the journey is a jack of all trades, he is the one that unites the others as they travel down the path

• The Moon: They who hide themselves by trying to be the ideal person and as such has hidden depths

I will take this opportunity to explain what will make this group function as an organization so to speak:

• First you are all victims of the blood eye cases
• Secondly you feel you need to find the killer it doesn't matter what reason you give your character but you must feel it strongly enough to go to any lengths to find said killer.

Your characters must have both these requirements in order to join this rp
please know that this will allow this group to form more cohesively and with greater direction. After all none of you know each other and their is no reason to trust one another but these two facts are what will give the group its common goal to strive towards despite this.

The mirror realm

Have you ever looked into a mirror and noticed something out of place? Did you ever wonder if those rumors about bloody Mary in the mirror or some other spirit was waiting on the other side? Their is, you just never realized it...

This is the universe where our heroes will go in order to find their killer and uncover the mystery of the killers motive.The world beyond the mirror holds the you that you hide within yourself in this world you see yourself without the mask you wear for everyone else. More often then not the mirrored you is simply a shadow of your true self however to a select few through hardship or tragedy they realize that enough is enough. When they rip off their masks in the mirror world they don't simply change they become the persona they were meant to be.

As one would expect the mirror realm is filled with "people" so to speak. They are the merely shadows of the people that they are in real life and as such hold all the anger, sadness, and emotions that would normally be hidden from view. However, for those of black hearts are what are known as the shadow mirror. These are cracks in reality where their distorted feelings conjure a world of their own making that can only be accessed by a mysterious app...

Written Appearance(Optional): He stands tall at 6'5 towering over most normal people. He is muscular in nature looking like he came straight from a wrestling ring with bulging muscles over his body. He has bright yellow eyes and ebony hair that reaches down to his shoulders. He preferably wears a unbuttoned shirt allowing him to showcase his tattoos along with dress slacks. He has a skull tattoo for each person he has killed and so far it covers his left arm almost entirely

Personal

Personality: Dunkas sees himself as a last line of defense. He is very protective of his brothers and sisters in the family and would not allow any one of them to be hurt if he could help it. He has a sense of duty to them and somewhat of a martyr complex to those weaker then him. When he sees someone as strong enough to take care of themselves it is his highest form of praise. He is an honorable guardian and wont allow anyone to question either his honor or his loyalty without breaking a few bones as a result. When not in a fight one could usually find him guarding either the head mansion or improving his mind and body at a nearby temple. He does not look for fight and more often then not one would find him someplace quiet.

• wall of muscle: Built to take hits and return them with just as if not more force

• Iron Resolve: Nothing will break his spirit, he will sooner die then betray his family. No torture will ever break him
• Backstreet Brawler: When it comes to close quarter combat he is second to none

• Giants steps: Can't sneak around if his life depended on it
• All thumbs: Subtly inst his strong suit he can't pick locks or handle delicate items without fear of breaking it
• Crap shot: Can't aim with guns, will more often miss then actually hit his intended target
• Bane of all animals: Animals be they dogs, cats, or any domestic animals tend to hate him or fear him.

The only people that Dunkas considers family are those in the Rikimaru family. He considers every member his brothers and sisters in arms. The only people he can say are like parents are the current family head

Backstory (Brief or as long as you're/I'm wanting):
Dunkas was left out on the street apparently he was just an unwanted child because he has been on his own as far back as he could remember. He knew the pain of starving without food or any good drinking any clean water. He had to steal and beg for what little he could get to stay alive. One day he decided to steal from the wrong people. He attempted to sneak into a house and steal what he could but before he could get inside he was beaten by a guard. This guard while having beaten him up severely Dunkas didn't stop getting up to try and bring him down. He didn't realize that he was being watched by the current head of the family he would soon be joining. He was beaten black and blue but he still found the strength to stand up even when he could barely take another step towards the guard.

Thankfully the head of the family was impressed enough with Dunkas spirit and stopped the guard from causing the killing blow. He was then told that the family head like his spirit. He was given some leftovers and he gladly devoured it. He was then promised some more food and a place to sleep in a shack so long as he promised to not steal and to train properly. He took the training well but he was quickly kept out of the range when he shot his instructor in the foot. He was instead given brass knuckles and taught how to fight till he reached the age of 15. By then he was trained in street fighting and had grown up to be nearly as tall as some of the men. He was then given a job to undertake. He went and found an arena where the gambling rackets were ran. He was told that if he could beat place within the top 3 he would be made a full member of the family. He took the mission and he came back home a champion not realizing that the current champion was actually the head of security for the family head. As a result not only was he allowed into the family as a full fledged member he was given the honor of protecting the family heads granddaughter. He has been loyal ever since and never wavered.

Magic

Medium/Expert/Capable

Electrokinesis
Also known simply as electrical manipulation. He has the ability to manipulate electricity nearby and use it to enhance his physical form. He can use electricity to form around his body like his arms allowing him to strike with deadly efficiently. He can only manipulate it to two parts of his body at any given time however. He can for example cover both his arms with electricity making him look like the very demon that his nickname came from. With his added power he able to strike faster and harder then he would without them which is still hard. The main drawback from this ability however is that he can't use it to cover his entire body and he can only use electricity to enhance his physical body so he can't shoot a lightning bolt for example. He can allow his electricity to cover objects he is holding however thus allowing him to use a simple cane as a deadly electrical weapon for example.
