Liz flinched when Bastian's necklace started to glow. The light wasn't bright just unexpected. She looked around but couldn't see much. She had a bad feeling about this. It wasn't just a hidden stairwell. There was something more here. She didn't know what though. She hoped it wasn't some demonic creature. She saw Bastian kick the wall. She frowned when she heard nothing. That wasn't good. There was no reason, other than magic, that she shouldn't have heard something.

She shook her head when he asked if she heard anything. Why was there a sound spell here? The walls were thick enough that they would muffle any sound made in the stairway. How could see hear Bastian? Nothing made sense. She simply didn't know enough about the world to know what to expect.

Liz didn't ask Bastian to put her down. She wasn't sure she wanted down and she was still too afraid to ask him for more than she actually had to. She barely stopped herself from screaming when the other woman appeared. If Liz had been paying attention she would have seen the woman there but she hadn't so the woman's appearance had startled her.

It took Liz several minutes to figure out what the woman was saying. She had never heard anyone talk like that. She wondered where the woman was from. But she supposed it didn't matter. How had they gotten the horse and wagon down here? Or was this just a tunnel that lead to where the horse and wagon were? How had they been able to move the horse? It had reacted negatively to the thieves. Had it known that these people meant them no harm? There were too many questions and not enough answers.

Liz worried when Bastian followed the woman without hesitation. Did he know her? Why did he trust her? Did he sense something that she didn't? She didn't know what beastkind could pick up. But she didn't like this place or this woman. Something wasn't right.

Roxy stormed through the shadows until she found Ratte. The girl was right where she thought she would be. The one place she wasn't supposed to be. She grabbed the younger girl and dragged her into the shadows. She held one of her knives to the young woman's throat. "What the hell are you doing in here?" She growled. "What part of the plan did you not undrestand? Your supposed to grab the stuff before it gets inside."

The place was highly guarded. This place was the second most secure place in the city. It was filled with alarms, traps, and guards. Roxy had no idea how Ratte had gotten this far or why and right now she didn't care. She cursed when she heard sounds of fighting outside. She released Ratte. She ran her hand through her hair. This was going wrong in so many ways that she knew that there was little chance that they would accomplish her goal.

Outside the fight had stop the caravan's progress. The soldiers were pretty much blocking the path. The commander kicked his horse and headed towards Isago. The man welded his sword like an expert. The older man was his target. He was going to kill the man for making him look weak in front of his men. That wasn't something that he could let go.

A large solider spotted Kai. He frowned low and his throat. He made waived his way through the fighting. His goal was to stop the small man. He saw another man on the other side but knew he couldn't reach that side.

Mrs. Clause nodded. She made her way over to Myra. She picked up the music sheet. Some kids knew the basic. They were taught in most schools. But she knew all kids had that advantage. Some where kept out of school until they found a way to blend in. She quickly showed the girl all the notes. Then she showed her where those notes were on the the instrument that she choose. The housekeeper didn't know what she would do with poor Katherin. The girl was the only one in the singer group. She made sure that Myra understood how to read the notes and how to find those notes on the the trombone.

Griffin didn't know what the gas was. But he could smell it. He started to feel light headed. With his strong sense of smell he should have moved further from the room. But he was reluctant to move too far from his team. Michael was going from left to right working his way through the boxes. Griffin leaned against the wall as a strange feeling came over him. He hadn't know there were so many silver things in the room. He could feel them weakening him. Michael found all kinds of silver things. The older man had gone through about half the boxes when Griffin felt his knees give out. He knew the gas and silver had been getting to him but he hadn't realize how much. He didn't say anything. He didn't want to distract the others. Just before the older man started the last row when Griffin started laughing. "You found it."
