Maybe it was a rumble in the ship, or maybe whatever drugs that had been pumped into the twelve sleeping individuals wore off at the same time. They all woke up. Clad in simple cotton clothing reminiscent of hospital scrubs. They all found themselves in almost completely bare rooms. There was no sign of life but their own, and they had no memory of who they were except their name. It was the one thing they could cling to.

Psychology tells us anger is a secondary emotion. There is another emotion that is the source of that anger. Even if it is confusion or helplessness. Both were felt by the twelve people. They were alone in their room and scared.

Tessa started awake. Fear gripping her deep in her stomach. Something was very wrong. For a few moments, she wasn't entirely certain what it was that was wrong, but when she opened her eyes it became glaringly obvious. The room she was in was cold steel and white. She was certain that wasn't her style, which meant this wasn't her room.

Tessa frowned. What did her room look like? She closed her eyes again trying to bring it up. There was nothing. She dug around, trying to come up with something, anything that would give her an idea of how she got here. Or, who she was. She knew her name was Tessa. That felt right and obvious, but that was the only thing she could make stick.

The terror she had been feeling grew and twisted. It took her several minutes to gather her wits about herself. She spoke to the empty room, "Hello?" hoping it would draw attention to her. Maybe, someone was waiting for her to wake up, and once she had they'd explain she had been in an accident and that's why she couldn't remember anything.

When nothing responded Tessa decided to explore the room. Maybe there was a note. A quick glance told her there wasn't much in the small room. It was only a little over seven feet in either width or length. The ceiling, which looked like it might be a solid piece of metal except for the center of it where a vent pushed cool air into the room.

Tessa then spent what felt like thirty minutes searching the room. There was little of interest, in either the bedroom or the small bathroom attached at the back of the room. She was getting frustrated with the lack of information.

Luke woke up with a start. He checked his arms for any IV drips. He didn't remember going to sleep, so the fear of having got hit by something and was now in a hospital was legitimate. But this didn't look like any hospital he had ever seen before. Normally the patients weren't in the scrubs either. There was no IV, there were no machines at all. This was... a lot of things. Terrifying was specifically sharp in his mind as he realized he didn't even know why he knew about hospitals. He searched what he knew and he wasn't a doctor. His name was Luke and he was a hemophiliac.

That explained the fear of being on an IV, but not where he was or why. He paced the room a bit. Examining it carefully. There wasn't anything of interest that stood out to him. The room was basic, a cookie-cutter room. The only thing that felt special was a swimmer's cap he found in a drawer of the nightstand. His name was written in Sharpe on the inside of it, reinforcing that it was important. He rubbed his finger over the letters. He wasn't certain whose handwriting it was. Was it his own? Or had someone important to him writing it? Someone he couldn't remember the face or name of.

Anger burst through his other emotions. Someone had taken that from him. Someone had left him alone in a room with no idea what was going on. Someone was going to pay.

"Let me the hell out of here!" He started yelling. Surely whoever had done this to him was watching and listening. They had to be. They wouldn't just leave him here, would they?

"I'd like that. I'll get you a few drinks if you want." Rose responded. Nodding when she said she was going to text Willow to check up on her. "That's a good idea." She chewed on her lip a bit as she kept following the trail. It would be nice to have a friendly face at the bar, and maybe if Willow was up for it she could join too. It might be good for her to get out of the house. "Invite Willow to drinks." Rose added.

That was when Sierra trip and fell. Rose reflexively asked, "Are you okay?" Then looked up at the woman who appeared to be a jogger. "What did you trip on? I'll have one of the guys grind it down." Rose said while checking the ground near where Sierra triped. "Hi, I haven't seen you around here." She smiled at the woman.

Niah looked around the Auguries, she hadn't ever really been in here before. She had never gone on a quest before. The strewn corpses of stuffed animals was a little offputting, but she was glad it was stuffed animals instead of actual animals. She did remember hearing that the previous augur had done the same thing so it didn't come cold. But why wasn't she cleaning up after herself? Or at worst a Probate running around behind her to clean it up once she was done doing whatever it is an agur does.

Niah was glad she didn't have a sister here at camp. She had a sister, one she missed terribly. They had been the best of friends, so she couldn't quite imagine why Nancy was being mean to her own sister. Maybe it was different when you hadn't grown up together? She winced slightly as Nancy harrassed Alexandra awake and shifted a few steps away. She very carefully in her own mind wished to see her sister again but kept from making any promises.

"Alexandra. I need your help. I need to go on a quest." She said trying to be assertive. "A gem was stolen from camp by a faun and now a dragon has it. The dragon is taking it to Mount Rushmore. It has to be me." She glanced at Nancy as she finished. "Please do your thing."

"I just hope fate doesn't contrive to make me break that. It better have been for a really good reason." She said following the other two out of the coffee shop. "I don't even want to imagine how deadly it would have to be to get demi-gods to shut down their coffee shop." She shook her head at the idea of it all. Thankful for the absolutely ridiculous idea to shake out the much more reasonable fears. Like dragons eating her face.

A swelling of appreciation for the two girls welled in Niah's heart. Sure, they all had their flaws, they were demi-gods, but the two were good people. Failed oaths aside. Maybe there was hope for people with more gaming failed oaths in their past. Not that Niah could break the one she had just made. If she did she would likely drop dead immediately and then go to a special place in the afterlife specifically designed to make her regret everything.

"We should go camping sometime then. After all this is figured out." She waved her hand vaguely. Rose thought about Sierra's question for a little while. "Well I don't usually get off work from the bar until pretty late like 2 am. So I don't think I'll go tonight. I do have tomorrow off. I'll probably go tomorrow. Do you want to go with me?"

She didn't want to go alone and figured Willow wasn't going to be down with going. And with Mab off dealing with other stuff... She sighed frustrated. Mab was supposed to be helping her with this. This was their thing. She regretted bringing in the others a bit, but at least Sierra was involved.

"Do you think Willow will be okay?" The girl had seemed really distressed. Rose felt bad for her and chewed on her lip a bit as she continued down the hiking trail. "Like, think she'll make it up with her mom? I don't know how I would handle it if I was in her place. She's got to be over 18 why didn't they at least tell her then?" Rose asked rhetorically, there wasn't any way that Sierra knew the answer.

Colby rolled his eyes at Layla's 'joke'. "Honestly, it was fair. If it had been me I might have done a similar thing." He shrugged. He really didn't blame her for her reaction to Matthew's note. That had been just as weird as Tink's staring. Why not just be direct? He didn't get it.

"Love the idea of being maimed. Basically a life goal of mine." But then he caught how nervous Matthew looked. He sighed slightly, trying to keep some annoyance at him out of his voice. "We'll be fine. You know we're only going up against Maleficent. How hard can she be to beat? Didn't she just have like a rock tossed on her head or something?" Colby asked, sort of joking, but also definitely getting Maleficent and the witch from snow white mixed up.

I could allow that as his personal item. LOL
