Bio

...I'm crazy. Got a doctor's note and everything.

Been role playing for over fifteen years, no stranger to forum rp'ing, as that is the way I learned to roleplay.

I don't bite, so don't be afraid to say hi.

I mostly prefer 1x1's, and am on PST. (Hello from the West Coast of the USA.)

If you are interested in rps, really, don't be afraid to say hi!!

Or if you just wanna talk, I'm usually very open.

For those of you still here, have some Pusheen!

Location: Simone’s Cafe
Interacting with: Each other, Nina’s Boss

Nina was barely paying attention to the news as it played on the mounted TV at Simone’s. She was reading over some homework from Monday since the cafe was mostly dead that evening. Until her manager walked over. “Nina, I know you got a minute, can we talk?”

”Sure, what is up?”

“So, I don’t know if you were paying that much attention to the news, but there is a curfew in town again.”

”Goodie.”

“However, they’ve also closed down the school till their investigation of Rachel’s murder is done.”

”Double goodie.” Nina sighed. This wasn’t going to look good on a college application.

“So, I want you and your brother to swap shifts while the school is closed and while the curfew is in effect, starting tomorrow. Come in during the day, and go home early. Tonight, well, I won’t report you, since Alicia is called out. However, call your father or go home with someone at 7:30, ok?”

”Yeah boss.” She looked at the clock and noted it was just past 6. That meant she had about an hour… and Ash still hadn’t shown up quite yet. She frowned a bit and leaned against the counter.

”Also, if you need…”

”I’m fine. I don’t need any time off… you know that.” Nina’s manager nodded and walked off to the back. She sighed and turned towards the door.

The door happened to open at that same moment that Nina glanced at it. Ashton promptly ducked inside, a small grin spreading across his face when he saw his friend. Without a hurry in his step, he made his way over to the counter. ”Hey, what’s up?”

”Hey! Well as you can see it is dead here, but I can understand why. I hear at least half of our class is either in the clinic or grounded, including you. Also apparently a curfew? Did you hear about that?” Nina smiled as she looked at Ash and stepped to the side to start making his usual cup of hot chocolate.

”Oh yeah, part of the reason why I’m grounded actually. Something about ‘if I don’t go out, I won’t be caught after curfew.’” Ashton chuckled, leaning casually against the counter. ”Parents are kind of--no, they’re definitely freaking out about the whole thing. Understandable, but it’s just a bit overbearing, you know?”

”Otec was mostly worried about Petyr and I, and well, surprisingly, not grounded. However, I will be working during the day during curfew and no school. So, are you the sort of grounded that can’t have friends over? Nina worked on making the hot cocoa, and soon handed Ash the paper cup full of the warm brown liquid.

”Technically yes.” Ashton accepted the cup and took a sip. After a drink and a moment of thought, he smirked and tipped the cup slightly at Nina and winked. ”My brother isn’t grounded though, so if a mutual friend of ours came over to hang out with him and I just happened to be in the house…. Well, that’s not breaking any rules, is it?”

Nina had to smirk for a moment. ”I’ll keep that in mind then. I do hope the hot cocoa was worth the trouble. As I said, I think I owe you a few hundred after last night.” Her smirk seemed to vanish as her thoughts turned to the night before.

”Delicious as always, Jelen. And you don’t owe me anything,” Upon seeing Nina’s face darken, Ashton leaned forward to peer into her face with slight concern. His elbows supported his chin upon the counter as he turned his gaze upwards towards her. ”You alright there?”

Nina paused and looked at Ash and blinked. ”Ah… sorry, was just thinking about last night. I mean, for a moment, I was pretty sure we were all dead… and, I just… there is so much that is so confusing now. You know how they say when you think you’re about to die, your life flashes before your eyes? Well, just some of those glimpses were confusing, and honestly I was terrified. I just made up with Tess, and if I lost her, or Petyr, or even…” She trailed off at that moment and looked at Ash and her cheeks grew red. ”Ah, sorry.” l

”You don’t have to apologize,” Ashton said, his eyes turning a bit more serious as he reached out to place a hand on her head. ”I was scared shitless last night, I’m sure all of us were. But we made it out alive, every single one of us. Even if some people ended up in the clinic, everyone is going to be fine. And that’s what matters.”

Nina nodded and leaned into Ash’s hand a bit. ”Yes, we’ll be fine, for now. I suppose, but…” She looked around and frowned. ”This may not be the place to discuss some things, so maybe I can pop by tomorrow when I get off shift?” [go ahead]

”As long as you’re visiting my brother Daniel, and not me,” Ashton said with a slight smirk, taking another swift sip of his drink. ”I’ll let him know that he has a guest tomorrow.”

”Thanks. If anything comes up, I’ll let you know, otherwise, I’ll be over after, hmm lets say 4, to see Daniel.” Nina let a small smile grace her face as she leaned back a bit. [all yours]

”I’ll be sure to be properly grounded and in the house,” Ashton winked. He pulled out his phone to text his brother this information, knowing that he would likely owe his brother more after this--a fact he noted with a wry smile.

”Alright. I’ll also bring around some cocoa for you and that really carmelly thing your brother likes. Now you should probably head home before you get more grounded.” Nina walked around the counter to hug her friend goodbye.

”Sounds good!” Ashton returned her embrace, gently rubbing her back. He turned to make his way out of the coffee shop, but paused and twisted around to face Nina right before he stepped out the door. ”Don’t get too caught up in what happened last night, okay? Everything is fine.”

Nina nodded. ”Yeah, I won’t. Take care Ash, and till later.” She waved at him as he left and sighed, and went behind the counter. ”Everything is fine… everything will be fine… don’t worry.”

Interacting with: Mary @Kirah [Everything I am doing with her i.e. getting her under the table has been pre-approved by Kirah], Athena @Nallore and anyone else at the Tituba Table

Brian smiled over at Mary. [color=cc9900]I am taking Care of Magical Beasts as well. I mean, it would surprise everyone if I didn't huh?" He said with a half chuckle as he fed Steve some vegetables off his plate. "I'm also signed up for Study of Ancient Runes and Ar...Arithmancy. Muggle studies didn't really interest me that much, already do that every summer." He added with a laugh as he looked at Mary. He noticed that she was quiet, as usual, and close to her... cousin? Yeah, she had said Elise was her cousin.

And then Athena's twin brother walked over and he gave a small wave to the older Good boy. Soon Carlo and Elise walked away and Brian waved them off, not sure what to say. He looked over at Mary and shifted so he could sit next to her, and set Steve between them both. He knew from past interactions that Mary loved to pet Steve. "So did you have a good summer Mary?" He asked before everything went sideways.

There was food being tossed every which way, and it didn't matter who the target was. Brian gently tugged Mary and Steve under the table and looked at her. "I've been in enough food fights at school to know the safest place to be is here under the table. We should just wait here till it blows over." He pulled Steve close to him, noticing the little quokka was shaking, just like how Brian felt on the inside. He looked at Mary and offered her a small smile. "Don't worry. We'll be fine."
I'll work up a Brian post once I'm back from the vets.
@Apokalipse@McHaggis@Undine

@lovely complex and I are gonna have to drop out from this RP since school is getting a bit too hectic for me and lovely has lost interest due to the slower pacing. We understand people have lives and such, but we're just used to faster paced roleplays so nothing against anyone.

Thanks for having us and we enjoyed what we were able to participate in!

Sorry to see you two go.

Interacting with: Elise, Mary @Kirah, Athena @Nallore and anyone else at the Tituba Table

"So what do you think Steve? Do you think they'll let us into the dorms sometime tonight, or are we gonna have a big campout in the hall?" The quokka looked at his master with his usual smile and nuzzled Brian.

"Yeah, I thought so. Anyways, how about some food then, eh mate?" Brian made sure that Steve was firmly on his shoulder as he walked out of the lounge and into the great hall. He was trying his hardest not to show it, but he was worried. They had arrived at the school late, which sent all the upperclassmen into fits of gossip, since the were never late. Never. Apparently it was due to the centaurs? Brian had wanted to get out of the car and see them, but had been forbidden. No matter how much he had tried to bug the drivers, they wouldn't let him out. So he had spent most of the time that he was in the Peregrine trying to see if he could catch glimpses of the creatures, but to no avail.

He sat down at the Tituba Table, and Steve hopped off his shoulder and sat down next to him. He looked around and offered smiles to all that was there and then a nod to Mary. She was his fellow classmate/ yearmate, and there was something about her that drew him to her. He wasn't quite sure what it was yet. "Hey Mary, Elise, Athena. Hope you guys are enjoying your food." He served himself some of the rather delicious smelling food and went about eating it. Man, was he hungry.
Elise Reed and Mary Winthrop

Elise was nervous. First the Peregrine had arrived late at school, and then they had all been shoved into the tiny lounge together. However, she was putting on a brave face for her cousin. Mary was leaning against a wall, curled up in a corner almost, away from as many people as she could get herself away from, which was nearly impossible. She was reading a book, but kept looking up and scanning around her. Elise was next to Mary, and had her hand on Mary’s head, gently petting to reassure the smaller girl.

Once it was announced that they could go get some food, Elise let out a small sigh. It was getting later and later, and all she wanted was food and sleep. However, the sleep was being denied for right now, so food would have to do. ”You hungry Mary? We can go to the hall and get some food if you want.”

“Yeah,” Mary stood up, closing her book and sliding it into her bag. “Finally.” She gave a smile, her usual one, the one she wore when she knew someone was looking.

Elise, having gotten to know Mary very well, knew that smile. She helped her cousin up and kept an arm around her as they headed to the dining hall. She found a few spots at the end of the Tituba house table and sat down next to Mary. She started serving herself some food as she looked around. She noticed that several of the professors were missing, which was odd. What was going on? First the centaurs were revolting, causing them to be late, and they couldn’t go outside, or to the dorms. What was going on outside that they were hiding from the students?

“Why aren’t they letting us into the dorms?” Mary asked after a few moments of silence.

”I don’t know Mary. This is the first year they haven’t let us in after dinner. Also they cancelled the opening ceremony. Something is going on, and I don’t like it.”

“Where are we going to sleep?” Mary frowned slightly over her potatoes.

”I doubt they could keep us out of the dorms all night, but if it continues like this, maybe the Hall? I don’t know Mary, this is the first time it’s happened. Don’t worry, I’ll make sure you are somewhere safe tonight.” Elise paused between bites of chicken as she looked around. They weren't even having the candle ceremony? What was going to happen to all the first years?

Mary nodded. There was still worry etched on her face a bit, but her general smile returned. “That would be like a giant sleepover.”
”You’ve never really been to a big sleepover before, huh? It would be fun, but I doubt they’d have us sleep out here without reason.” Elise reached over and gently rubbed Mary’s shoulder. ”So, are you excited to start Care of Magical Creatures this year?”

“No I haven’t.” Mary paused slightly. “I am excited. Also Arithmancy, and Study of Ancient Runes.”

”I didn’t take Ancient Runes, but Arithmancy is good. The professor is nice, and if you need any help, don’t feel afraid to ask them questions. Care of Magical Creatures is fun, you’ll start with some rather benign creatures, but that doesn’t mean they aren't interesting.

Mary gave a small nod. “I was reading the course book.” Mary tapped her bag. She gave a strange smile, very unlike her usual one. “Such strange creatures.”

Elise smiled. It was hard not to when Mary was giving an almost genuine smile. ”Yeah, I’d imagine for you they’d be extra strange. However, don’t worry. Most of them look worse than they really are. If you’re lucky, you might get to see the Siren’s in the lake.”

“I’d like to learn more about them. I’ve always been a bit fascinated by them.”

”If you’re lucky, maybe you might learn how to attract one of them.” Elise was happy to see Mary so interested in her class. She continued to eat, still wondering what was going on.
