Personal Style: Evangeline’s wardrobe is usually practical and relatively nondescript. When she isn’t wearing what constitutes the official uniform, she’ll usually default to dark blue jeans, a black shirt and a muted red jacket. She usually wears somewhat worn practical boots, though she has plenty of other options depending on the situation. Sparr is more than happy wearing shorts and a t-shirt even when she’s not exercising, or spending a lazy day in lounge pants. Only her formalwear is actively avoided. She wears a muted red, bordering on purple depending on the light, dress for formal occasions. Sparr truly, truly hates it.
Even her uniform isn’t quite free from modification, though. For whatever reason she has taken exception to the official jacket and wears it only when forced to.
Her hair is usually shoulder length and left loose when she isn’t working, and dyed a muted purple quite frequently for no reason other than her own enjoyment. She has been known to leave it brown almost as often, so its color really depends on her whim. Makeup, if it’s present, is usually minimal and often less present than the grease on her fingers from doing maintenance on the Matryoshka.

Personality: Boisterous, enthusiastic, and stupid. Those’d be the words, probably in that order, that would spring to mind after ten minutes with Evangeline Sparr. The truth, as with most people, is a lot more layered than that. Sparr is boisterous and enthusiastic, but she’s not quite as stupid as she lets people think. She’ll admit to anyone close to her if they don’t figure out for herself that the reality is she’s simply book-dumb. There was never any desire or drive to learn for her, she was happier exploring what she found interesting. She has ended up a surprisingly adept mechanic because of it, especially where Frames are concerned, even if she doesn’t know the engineering principle behind it. She’s not a roboticist, but she know how to work on her machines. Her savvy when it comes to dealing with people isn’t to be underestimated either, even if she does have something of a blind spot for people she genuinely cares about.
Her loud enthusiasm goes deeper, too. Evan doesn’t handle being alone well and acting like a boisterous bruiser, even though it really is how she behaves, keeps at least some attention on her. Acknowledgement is something she needs, whether she admits it or not.
Which is why it isn’t too surprising that she spends so much time around her best friend and fellow pilot. Having that solid tie helps keep her grounded and happy, and for that reason Sparr would protect and assist Viv no matter what. That extends to anyone else she becomes attached to but the effect is most apparent with her friend. For Sparr a fight is something to be enjoyed. The instant someone she cares about is in the line of fire, it isn’t fun anymore and the ferocity she exhibits is chilling.
Habits: Sparr tends to exercise daily, usually in the morning when she gets up, before she does anything else. Said exercise is something of a morning ritual, something that helps keep her focused. She will almost always seek out a friend or task after that to entertain herself for the day if there’s no fighting to be done. Once a day she will check in on the Matryoshka, too, whether she has any real need to or not.
Other than that Sparr’s only real habits revolve around meal times; she eats three a day without fail, and all around the same time each day. Everything else about her day is highly fluid; what she does, who she does it with, when she sleeps, it all tends to flow around the concrete points of her habits and her work schedule.
Hobbies: Avid close combatant. Her style might be something of a frankenstein, but she loves sparring and brawling and will take any opportunity to do so. Much the same goes for combat in her frame.
Other than that, she mostly looks forward to doing maintenance on her frame and to watching movies with Viv.
Fears: Most of Evangeline’s fears revolve around her inability to handle being alone for long spans of time. She is terrified of losing the people close to her, and just as terrified of feeling alone. Her self-esteem suffers suffers greatly due to this, as any time spent alone is internalized as people not wanting to be around her. Though usually utterly confident in her abilities, in appearance, she greatly fears failure. She looks at piloting and fighting as the only things she’s any good at, and is terrified that no one will want to associate with her if she’s not as good as she acts.
All of these fears are kept completely internal, unless vocalized to those closest to her. This is in large part because she is just as terrified of voicing her fears as she is of those fears themselves.

General Skills: Sparr is a well-trained hand to hand combatant, despite her somewhat eclectic style, and adept with her chosen weapons. The former doesn’t often matter in her field of work but she keeps her skills sharp anyway. She is an above average pilot but it can be a little hard to evaluate her performance; though there is usually a method to her madness, it can be hard to what is unorthodox maneuvering and what is genuine recklessness from time to time. Not that she is exactly eager to explain herself.
Though lacking in booksmarts, there is nothing Sparr knows quite like weapons and frames. She does as much of the maintenance on her own as she can, though she’ll be the first to admit that she shouldn’t go anywhere near any of the software. She tends to catch people off guard with her observational capacity, especially given how many people take her intelligence at face value. This underestimation is often a great advantage to her, whether she intentionally exploits it or not.
She also tends to have a bigger budget than most people would expect, though she far from advertises it and doesn’t elaborate on why.

Background:
The Sparrs are the founders and owners of a vast technological empire. They made their initial fortune off of automated labor equipment two generations back, and were early manufacturers of labor frames. The technologies they pioneered for the former were immensely helpful both for the continued manufacturing of civilian frames and for their early ventures into military-use frames. In modern times they manufacture a wide range of goods, each lumped into their own company within their overall corporation. The newest of these is Spartan Industries, the company through which they produce military frames.
This is the legacy that Evangeline Sparr was born into, and the one she was expected to uphold. Her formative years did not lack for anything; she had all the things she could want, an endless string of highly qualified and pleasant sitters, and very laissez-faire parenting. The latter ended up being an issue as she grew older; she had all the hired hope she could ever want, but none of the affection she craved. Not that her parents were cruel, they simply weren’t around. Both were constantly away on one business venture or another. She was invited along on some of them, once she was in her early teens, but even then the trips were centered around work. Needless to say Sparr didn’t have any particular desire to excel at any of her coursework, given that her parents paid her little attention or encouragement. She was free to simply skate by on minimal effort and devote her attention to the things that did interest her.
Her hobbies ranged, given that she had plenty of money to support them, but many focused on the martial. And Spartan Industries certainly held her attention. Her parents, in their own absent-minded way, were happy to give her whatever she needed; at least she was taking an interest in their business, however small. Sparr’s interest, however, was in the frames themselves and not their marketing. She studied them and talked with their designers as much as she could, striving to learn everything within her power. She piloted them, she worked on them, and as time went on she worked to design them. Not alone, of course, but she managed to (through considerable sweet-talking and devotion of a not insignificant sum of money) gather a small team and the resources she needed to work on a design of her own. The result, the first time, was a unique take on an older frame that managed to sell a small, limited run. Enough to justify the cost of design and turn a small profit.
She had a somewhat freer hand after that, and flitted from project to project depending on her whim. Some of them she simply observed, others she offered input on, and every now and again she started something in her free time. Her favorite of them never earned a production run, there wasn’t enough interest, but she kept the units that were produced in company storage.
Even with all of this, though, she was aimless. Frames held her interest, but she had neither the patience nor the desire to go through the years of college study it would take for her to design them professionally. Nor would her parents be pleased to see her take up such a lowly position in their empire. She was still on track to earn the degrees necessary to fill her parents’ shoes one day but her heart was far from it. Evan still suffered from incredible bouts of loneliness, as well, that sent her mood crashing down for days at a time.
She got her solution when a series of unusual events involving a concert, a brawl, and some illicit substances led her to a girl her age in need of immediate supervision. When said girl (Vivianne Laurent) woke up on her couch the next day (after the initial confusion) Sparr had met her new best friend.
The two bonded surprisingly quickly, and Vivianne was Sparr’s inspiration to break free from her habits little by little. Though they weren’t exactly happy about it, she managed to get her parents to agree to a compromise; Sparr was free to do as she wished for the foreseeable future as long as she kept up with her studies in the long term. In exchange she agreed that when the day came for her parents to retire she would return home and take their place if no other suitable successor arose in the meantime.
With her newfound freedom Sparr took her favorite unit out of storage and headed out deeper into the solar system, signing up with the Ganymede Ghosts once she had decided she had gone about as far out as she wanted. Her record in their service has been excellent thus far, though she has yet to see anything in the way of a large-scale battle.

-Ange de la Mort: The Ange de la Mort, officially designated the Mk. 4, is a revolving cylinder built around the Doll’s right forearm. On the forearm’s outside edge is a firing cylinder with a short barrel that barely extends past the Doll’s fist. The cylinder contains three fourteen-inc non-explosive projectiles, each of which can be rotated into position in turn. Ange de la Mort is officially an anti-fortification weapon, with enough penetrative armor to pierce and strike through most armor be it a tank or other fortified establishment. It can’t be used at range, it cannot be aimed sufficiently, but its real purpose in Sparr’s mind is as a close-range weapon. It is to be jammed up against a frame’s torso and the trigger is to be pulled, sending the projectile rocketing into (and most likely through) the target.

Equipment & Design Features
Equipment:
-Matryoshka Unit: The Matryoshka Unit is the SI-005FA’s defining feature, and the only thing that sets it apart from the original SI-005. It is a series of components fitted onto the modified SI-005’s hardpoints, with the largest components mounted on the torso and shoulders. The majority of these components are additional armor; the plating on the torso is kevlar-wrapped ceramic backed by steel substructure. The components on the shoulders, shins, and back are much the same. The shoulder components, additionally, mount additional weapon systems.
Other components are mounted on the feet to serve two purposes; firstly, to provide additional rugged wheels to increase the SI-005FA’s wheeled speed. Secondly these supports give it a solid enough footing to fire the VIV4 without a loss of balance.
All components of the Matryoshka unit can be detached via a set of controls in the cockpit, casting off the additional armor and weaponry in favor of an increased maneuverability. These components cannot be reattached in the field, and must be returned to homebase to be attached to the Doll.
The sole exception to this is the Matryoshka’s 3.8m shield, held in its left hand. The shield serves both to help counteract the weight on the frame’s right side, and (of course) to provide significant defense. Its outer face is composed of angled kevlar-wrapped ceramic plate backed by steel inner structure, with a non-Newtonian bilayer sandwiched between the two. The shield is impervious to small arms fire and more than capable of standing up to autocannon fire from other frame’s for an extended engagement. Spikes on its base are meant to be stabbed into the ground, making the shield a mobile fortified position.

Technical & Historical Notes:
The SI-005FA began life as an SI-005 Crusader, Spartan Industries’ most basic combat-oriented frame. Though versatile the Crusader was ultimately… Average. There was little to set it apart from the competing models, and it sold well due to its low price-point but was generally unremarkable. It was notable only for its durability; the Crusader was noted as a frame that could suffer significant amounts of abuse before being rendered nonfunctional, making it a favored unit of outfits that needed a cheap workhorse. Spartan Industries continued to manufacture it for many years due to reasonable demand, but turned its attention towards new designs.
Evangeline dusted the model off and used it as the base for her pet project. The Crusader she started with was rechristened “Doll”, in reference to its support equipment, and tweaked for use with said equipment. The SI-005FA Matryoshka was intended as a heavy assault and fire support unit for other offensive units. In this role it excelled. Even from an early developmental phase its potential was clear.
Engaging an entrenched Matryoshka without support from aircraft, a tank, or superior numbers is futile. Only outmaneuvering it is likely to lead to swift victory; without overwhelming firepower anything else is guaranteed to be a drawn-out battle. It is not at all swift, but its defensive capabilities and firepower are a harsh deterrent. Early combat testing made that clear, and if properly supported by quicker frames the Matryoshka was fearsome indeed. It could provide a defensive position to rally around, and enough fire support to back up advancing allied units.
Unfortunately, it was expensive and few customers saw the benefit to it. Any organization expecting such a brutal fight would find it cheaper to purchase MBTs to support their frames rather than such a heavy unit. The ability to cast off into its lighter, and as such more maneuverable, base Doll unit was supposed to mitigate this fear but customer interest was poor.
The SI-005FA, as such, never entered full production and stayed in storage until Evan retrieved it.
